Adrak had caught my eye on social media, and we decided to make a last-minute reservation. Upon arriving, we were warmly greeted by staff who were already expecting us. The restaurant’s atmosphere was calming yet rich, offering a sense of royal elegance from the moment we stepped in.
Our waiter was attentive and offered thoughtful drink suggestions based on our preferences and allergies, which made the experience feel personalized. Service throughout the evening was attentive, although one suggestion would be to ask before cutting or handling dishes at the table, as some guests might prefer their meals untouched. Additionally, the mains took some time to arrive, but they were well worth the wait.
For drinks, we ordered the Rome of the East, which arrived with a dramatic bubble presentation; unfortunately, it popped before we could capture a photo or video. They also created a customized cocktail based on our flavor preferences, though we’re not quite sure what was in it. Another standout was The Joker, a bright and flavorful cocktail that we really enjoyed.
For appetizers, we were recommended the Onion Bhajia; essentially a spiced, elevated take on onion rings. Paired with the tamarind chutney, it offered the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. The portion size was also generous, making it a great starter to share.
For our mains, we had the Awadh Lamb Shank, which, out of all the lamb shanks I’ve had, was truly the best; tender, rich, and perfectly seasoned. We also tried the Oregano Murgh Tikka, but I personally found it a bit bland compared to the lamb, and the portion size didn’t feel worth the cost. For sides, we ordered garlic naan and basmati rice. One small critique: the rice was served in a jar, which felt impractical for serving and fell short of the presentation standards I would expect from a Michelin-recognized restaurant.
Overall, we had a wonderful time at Adrak and would definitely love to return.
