Google
Well I would give the food a 4+ but a few things could have been better, they really didn't have vegan options (only two on the menu of which one was not available), the ambience was not the best but the worst part was cleanliness. I can say many things but easiest example would be the yellow/brown spatter on the ceiling that looked like someone threw up!

Google
Great little gem in Hillman City. First, we received the warmest and most welcoming greeting from the owner. We ordered the vegetarian combo, doro wot, and lentil simosas. Everything was delicious and flavorful, accompanied with endless supply of injera.

Google
I come here quite often and always get the doro wot. Very friendly staff and absolutely delicious food. I love their honey wine too.

Google
Rude. And didn't give me what I wanted. And it's really Dirty.

Yelp
Great food, great service. 10 out of 10. I plan on going back very soon!! Was my first experience with Ethiopian food and I loved it.

Yelp
Firstly we live in north seattle so this was a haul to get down here, we hoped in our naive minds that it was going to be worth it and it will blow us away. To our delight it did. Food was incredible, huge platter for 2 for 42 bucks and we were stuffed! Taste was so good and it came out pretty quick too! The 2 gents and the kind lady working were very attentive with a warm feeling of welcoming. Good vibes Good food Good Service Good price. Checks all the boxes go support these folks.

Yelp
Excellent! The ambiance and atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and it smelled so good in there! The staff and servers were attentive and friendly, and quick to answer any questions we had as new comers. We started with a glass of the Ethiopian Wine each (which is less of a regional wine, and is made from honey... not quite mead, but in the same vein), and shared an order of the veggie roll appetizer. This was the highlight, I will say that now. Get the veggie roll. Period. The spices that I was expecting showed up in this dish, and while I wish the spices were more present elsewhere, they just weren't. So get the veggie roll. We got a couple of dinner entrees and had them plated together on a large tablecloth of the injera bread. There was also a side helping on the bread, but it was cold. I wasn't expecting it to have been cold, so it brought down the temperature of the lentils and chicken we ordered as the mains. We did not get dessert, but I would probably just order another veggie roll, to be honest.

Yelp
Heard about Delish in the neighborhood and always wanted to try Ethiopian food so we gave it a shot on Friday night for date night. The restaurant is located in Columbia city. Not a very large space but very intimate and homie / welcoming. The team here was so friendly / service was great (gentlemen checked up on our table often just to see how things were and if we needed anything). We had the Ethiopian beer and veggie combo to share plus a spicy chicken dish (Doro wat). The combo platter comes with a variety of items with lots of different flavors. The doro wat is spicy so if you like spicy give it a shot. All of this food came with a type of Ethiopian bread that you wrap the food in to eat. It was an experience for us - tried a new cuisine and enjoyed our evening. Not a large restaurant so would suggest making reservations.

Yelp
I haven't had Ethiopian food in years and wasn't a fan. Delish ended up catering an event I attended. The food was SO flavorful, really amazing. Everything was good and had its own distinct flavor. Thank you, Delish for cooking up some incredible food and making me want to eat more Ethiopian.

Yelp
Our go to neighborhood Ethiopian place. Our daughter loves it! We always order the veggie combo. It's fantastic! If you order food to go, know that it might take time but it's worth it!

Vanessa B.

Yelp
We ordered the Delish Combo and Doro Tibs and shared among three people. Everything was tasty! We chose to eat here because of the good reviews and it lived up to the hype. The staff was friendly and attentive. It's small (and busy) so would make a reservation if you are a group more than two.
google avatar

Yelp
Delish is delish indeed! My friend made a reservation for a Friday dinner through Resy which is a good call as it was fairly busy otherwise. It is a fairly small and intimate restaurant, but that also meant service is pretty good. We got the Delish combo which has a combination of meat + vegetable combos in one plate, which is good portion for 2 people. The injera here is pretty good, not too sour, so the actual food can be savored in more or less its original form. We also got the assa goulash (cube cut tilapia) and the classic doro wot (chicken) as these were not part of the combo, all of which are very well spiced yet balanced. I particularly really loved the tilapia! By ordering all this, we were able to try a large variety of food. My only complaint was that the food does take a while - about 30+ minutes, but the food quality otherwise is super on point and one of the better Ethiopian restaurants out here. Price is also excellent - sharing everything among 5 people was sufficient food and priced around $20 per person after tax and tip. Not many restaurants of this quality fit in this price range anymore these days.

Yelp
**vegetarian review** This is by far the best Ethiopian food I have had in Seattle area. It's so well priced and soooo damn delicious. I got the veggie combo and the veggie rolls and tomato fitfit. I don't know what to expect from the tomato fitfit and it was soooooooo goooooood. Similarly the combo I thought will be like any other place but no. It's so much nicer. I loved all the lentils and salads and veggies. Highly recommend and definitely planning to go back.

Yelp
Easily one of the best restaurants in Seattle. Delicious food, diverse menu options, great service. The flavors are so fresh and warm. The restaurant is cute and intimate as well. If you have never had ethiopian food, this is your sign to try something new... you won't regret it.
google avatar

Yelp
Delish always hits even after years! Everything is spot on! Every veggies has perfect crunch and flavor and meat are well spiced. Combo platter is perfect for 2 with extra injera. My fav part is the leftovers. I pan fired the curry soaked injera until they are crispy and topped with left overs. 10/10!

Yelp
This was my first time trying Ethiopian food in a restaurant. I attended a Yelp event here and bought an authentic Ethiopian dark beer while there. I got to meet the owner, Delish, who passionately described his restaurant and the food and staff. With a name like Delish, it is very appropriate his place is also "Delish"!! During the evening, I learned that Delish opened right before COVID hit and they kept their doors open through this difficult time. I learned that Delish's wife, Amy, is the head chef and prepares the food with fresh ingredients daily. I also learned that due to the 13 month Ethiopian calendar, it is 2016 in Ethiopia! Overall, I loved this restaurant. Delish is a delightful man, his staff is friendly, the interior decorations and ambiance is well thought out, and the food is great,

Speedster O.

Yelp
The food here is excellent and the staff members are wonderful. Every time we visit, we always order the meat and veggie combo and extra Injera, which feeds about 4 people. This is by far my favorite Ethiopian restaurant!
google avatar

Janice S.

Yelp
I was impressed by this charming little restaurant. The ambiance is a bit older, cute and welcoming. The service was ok. Nothing too special. The Ethiopian cuisine here though is pretty good. We ordered the 'Delish Combo' and it was packed with rich flavors. They went a little less on the meat which was a bit disappointing.
google avatar

Vivian H.

Yelp
This is my go-to spot for Ethiopian food. I'd recommend ordering the combination platters, so you can try a little bit of everything. The combination platters can easily feed up to 4 people, especially with the generous amount of injera bread. I've only ordered takeout, but if you do dine in, there is street parking on Rainier Ave S. and Orcas St. Public transportation is accessible with a bus stop right in front of the restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is phenomenal! Recommended to me by a friend, we stopped by earlier this month and have since returned 3 times. Located in a residential area, parking is easy and we've ordered takeout every time. The meat combo lives in my head and never fails to disappoint. An amazing assortment of various stewed meats paired with the best injera I've had. Just the perfect amount of tanginess (for me) and soaks up all the saucy goodness. The portion is well adequate to feed more than two, and never goes unfinished. My new favorite restaurant in Seattle and deserves all the praise it gets.

Yelp
Amazing costumer service! We were visiting the area and the food was nothing but delicious!! I love the cozy tiny vibe of this restaurant and the attentiveness of the people working here!! Yummmy!!! First time trying.
google avatar

Heather Z.

Yelp
I highly recommend getting a reservation since this place is a bit small and we ended up waiting a bit even with a reservation. Service was a bit slow but ambiance was nice! Our party of four ordered the meat combo and the veggie combo (the combo each served two) and they brought it out all on the same plate. Everything was so flavorful and delicious, but some of the food was a bit lukewarm vs hot.
google avatar

Marissa M.

Yelp
My favorite Ethiopian restaurant doesn't do GrubHub/Door Dash so Delish is my go to delivery for Ethiopian food. Super delicious! Must try lamb tibs!
google avatar

Sugandha G.

Yelp
I recently tried their vegetarian platter and it was a flavor-packed delight. You can really taste the homemade touch in their dishes--it's a family-owned spot and that vibe shines through in their food. Just a heads up, it's a good idea to reserve a table beforehand since they have limited seating. Being downtown, parking might be a bit tricky, so plan accordingly. Despite the seating and parking challenges, the food here is top-notch. If you're up for some delicious, authentic Ethiopian cuisine, it's definitely worth a visit!
google avatar

Chelsea L.

Yelp
The ambiance here is great. Service was kind. Definitely make a reservation because it quickly got packed on a Friday night! We were going to walk in, but made one one hour ahead just in case and got so lucky because the place is small and got booked out! We wanted to try everything and couldn't decide, so got the delish combo. Loved how they served it in an authentic style and had people eat with their hands like how ethiopians would (Utensils are available upon request for those who aren't down to try). The food was flavorful from the veggie options to the meat options.

Yelp
We had the most wonderful experience at Delish Ethiopian cuisine last night. We were so glad to have been there. This is clearly a beloved neighborhood spot. In addition to being one of Seattle's top 50 places to eat. It's really hard to beat that! We started with a glass of wine and the platter that allows you to try a little bit of everything... I hesitate to call it a sampler, because the portions are generous, and it is really more of a journey. While enjoying our food, we have the opportunity to enjoy the amazing artwork and stylings of Ethiopia. Some of the furniture came from Ethiopia itself, and the amazing artwork, features, hairstyles and fashions of the region. The lighting is good enough to see and enjoy your surroundings, but enough to really relax and enjoy your time. With all of that already at play, you add an amazing service and you have a hands-down five star yelp review from me. Frankly, I cannot wait to bring my friends and family back to enjoy everything about this neighborhood hub. The owner, Delish, is kind and genuine and offers an intriguing and passionate view of Ethiopian food, his wife's dedication to the craft, that she learned from her mother, and the amazing decor, and not least of all - their amazing neighborhood. If it's not already on your list, make sure it gets to the top. This is not an opportunity you want to miss or delay.
google avatar

Jenna C.

Yelp
Went with one other person and got the delish combo to share! We were pretty stuffed at the end. The veggie dishes were amazing, but the meat dishes were OK. I probably would just get the vegetarian combo next time. The food did take 30+ minutes to come out, which would've been nice if they had told us beforehand. The interior is fine, nothing notable.
google avatar

Ashok S.

Yelp
This was my second visit in a month but this time with the fam. The place was empty when we got there just before 5 pm. By 5:30 pm the place was packed. They did get a couple of take out orders within the hour. The service was slow to begin with. We didn't order anything else to drink besides water as they never asked us which was a miss on their part. We ordered the Veggie Combo and the Delish Combo. Expect a longer than usual wait for the food to arrive. Not sure if they were understaffed in the kitchen as the owner was not around. By far the Veggie Combo is far better than the Delish Combo. There are a few dishes that stand out like the lentil. The meat dishes were ok. The number of injera rolls per combo is definitely less plus the ones that we got were super cold. My experience from my first visit was the exact opposite. I found the spice level of the dish to be a bit underwhelming. But I understand that they are adapting their menu to the populous. I am hoping for a better experience the next time I am in for some seafood.

Yelp
I am surprised by all of the 5 star ratings. The food was about average for Ethiopian, there are several better Ethiopian restaurants I've been to for sure in Baltimore, dc, Los Angeles area, and nyc. The food was good but certainly no more than 4 stars.

Kate T.

Yelp
So satisfying!! One combo meal is good for two people. Everything is delicious. Shiro wot is my favorite. And I love that Delish sources locally! Lovely ambiance, too. Got take out but hope to be back to dine in soon. The people were very friendly!

Yelp
I can't believe I found this place this late, the food is absolutely delicious! Friendly attentive service , you know it is a family business, so we waited patiently and I mean the food is so good, so fresh and a cute nice designed restaurant , I love the Ambience . If it was close to our home I would probably go every week lol..

Yelp
Delicious Ethiopian food in a small restaurant with a neighborhood feel. I had a vegetable plate, certainly enough for two; it was perfectly seasoned, veggies had a wonderful texture, and plenty of yummy injera and Ethiopian beer to go with the entree. That plus the helpful, attentive staff made it a very pleasant experience!
google avatar

Yelp
I was told to write "as the name implies, this place was DELISH" which is true but might also be the corniest thing I've ever written. We got the combo platter and WOW the variety, the flavors and textures. Probably the deepest flavors I've had in Ethiopian food to this day. I couldn't eat quick enough, trying to shove everything on the injera into my mouth. And there were so many things to try. And every single one tasted unique and distinct. They also gave complimentary injera on top of what's given with the dish so we asked for more because my boyfriend eats like a bottomless pit. But evn just ordering the one combo between the two of us, we both came out the other end stuffed.

Yelp
I've been here many times and the food has always been great and the service has always been nice. I ordered to-go recently and paid and tipped online. I had done this several times before and there were never any issues. I arrived, said "Hello!," gave my name, and said I had an order to-go. The man behind the bar quickly turned around (without saying anything), printed a receipt, and put it on a black plastic tray. They had never done this any of the other times I had picked up food to-go. He walked down to the end of the bar, grabbed the to-go bag, walked back to me, and placed the food just behind the little black plastic tray with the receipt that he pushed directly in front of me (all with a pretty icy glare and no words spoken). I looked at the tray confused because I had already paid and already tipped. I reached over the tray, grabbed my food and said, "Thanks!" only to see that he was still glaring at me and never said anything to me in response. In fact he never said anything to me at all, including "Hi" or "How's it going?" or "Welcome!" or "Thank you!" I'm not sure if he was new or if he felt that I didn't tip enough, but it was a very awkward experience and has made me think maybe it's time to try a new Ethiopian place next time. Glaring silently at your customers is a great way to get them to take their money elsewhere.

Yelp
We had an amazing experience working with Delish Ethiopian Cuisine to cater for our wedding. To begin with, we tried every Ethiopian restaurant that offers catering service in Seattle, and Delish rose to the top of the list for taste as well as responsiveness to our inquiries. Delish (the co-owner) and Amy (the co-owner and chef) were both very friendly and professional all throughout to help us decide on our menu and finalize the details. We served a delightful buffet of 7 dishes that accommodated vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, and meat loving guests alike. We fed about 120 people for under $30 a person, and Delish and Amy have experience cooking for much larger groups of people. Our guests loved the food, and we received a ton of compliments on both how delicious it was and how well it accommodated everyone's dietary needs. All in all, Ethiopian food makes for a simple to execute, cost-effective, and tasty buffet meal for a large event, and Delish Ethiopian Cuisine is the best restaurant in the city to cater for it. Thank you Delish and Amy!

Yelp
Very delicious Ethiopian food! There were a lot of people coming in for takeout while we were dining there. It's great for a party meal!

Yelp
delish was all it's been said to be by others and did not disappoint! on a late sunday afternoon, all tables were full not 15 minutes after we got there and were seated. the wait for our special veggie combo felt longer than normal but it was 100% worth the wait! it was mouthwatering and visually appealing and every single item tasted amazing and distinct from the next. for two hungry people, we demolished the combo and ordered extra injera to insure nary a bite was sent back to the kitchen! for ~$24, two of us left more than fully sated. there was a steady stream of people who came in over the couple of hours we were there and the staff was super nice, checking to see if we needed anything or clearing away dishes. this is a place i would totally take out of town visitors who want to experience cuisine representative of local communities. it's not every city in the u.s. that has good ethiopian offerings and i'd be happy to help delish help seattle showcase that! so glad we decided to give this a try....i can totally see myself developing a regular hankering for their veggie combo!
google avatar

Kumar V.

Yelp
It's a small place but they have done a decent job with whatever little space they have. I came with a large group with many people trying Ethiopian for the first time. So we felt a bit cluttered with space but that can be overlooked if you are a small group. Tried different recipes - loved the Shiro Wat. It's a vegetarian recipe made with red lentils. On the other hand the Diro wat was rather okayish. Injeera was really delicious. We also tried their cappuccino which were made with Ethiopian beans - totally loved it.

Yelp
My fav ethiopian spot in Seattle by far. Get the veg combo woohoo yeah it's good! Yeah!
google avatar

Basil P.

Yelp
Rich and delicious Ethiopian food in a friendly welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely come back. Our server took great care of us - even individually packed our leftovers with neatly labeled boxes. We highly recommend the awaze tibs and delish special veggie combo!!
google avatar

Maggie L.

Yelp
A wonderful family-run business with authentic Ethiopian food! The service here is always exceptional no matter how busy it is. Delish the owner is very friendly and hospitable. Food here is wonderful. It's not the cheapest Ethiopian food you can find, but the food is definitely made with love and fresh ingredients. If it's your first time, start with the Vegetarian Combo; if you are a meat eater, add a meat dish such as doro wat (chicken drum and boiled egg in a spicy buttery gravy). If you want to be adventurous, try the Kitfo rare and spicy (minced rare beef mixed with butter and spiciess).
google avatar

DaeJaniece V.

Yelp
The food was so amazing!! I've been to a handful of Ethiopian restaurants and this one tops them all! Everything tastes so fresh and their customer service is so welcoming, their owner introduced himself to me and my sister and we watched him do the same with all of their other customers! I will definitely come back and recommend to others.
google avatar

Raehlani V.

Yelp
This was such a cute little spot! I love great customer service, we were greeted as soon as we walked in and got a table so fast. The owner came by and talked to me and my sister, I love when that happens! Such a welcoming restaurant and delicious food! 10000/10
google avatar

Jack G.

Yelp
The delish combo is fantastic! Super great honey wine too. The staff is great, although I suspect they forgot to reserve our table for 4. It was a strangely busy Wednesday at 6:30, and all the tables were full except for one which was obviously for 2 people. Although another party left, we finally got our table. I love that they have typical Ethiopian translations as decorations on the large tables. I'd only recommend the wine if you're into sweet wine -- it's an Ethiopian honey wine, which is fantastic but very sweet.
google avatar

John K.

Yelp
Cute place, great food. It's a little small so getting a table can be hard - I suspect they could easily fill a restaurant twice the size. As others say, reservations recommended. You probably will have leftovers, and while they might not look as great as when in the restaurant, they definitely get consumed.
google avatar

Sela T.

Yelp
The owners Delish and his wife, Amy, both do a fantastic job at creating an inviting space with great food. The service was quick, the waitstaff was attentive, and the overall experience felt homey. They informed us about the different regions of Ethiopia and its people. And also about the different customs and traditions of the country. I honestly had such a delightful experience dining here and will certainly be back again!
google avatar

Kevin E.

Yelp
Cute restaurant with some low round tables that nicely hold the large combo platters. We had the Delish combo to get meat and veggies. The combo is said to feed 2 but we thought that it would definitely feed 3. For 7 of us, we had 2 combos, 2 other meat entrees, and a salad and took some home. There actually was salad on the combo so we would not order that next time. Gluten free injera is available. We could not really tell the difference between the regular and gluten free versions; both tasted good and not too sour. The staff were very nice and allowed us to bring a birthday cake from home, providing us forks and plates to eat it (more of a "favor" than usual since you don't usually use utensils to eat Ethiopian food). We ordered a bottle of Ethiopian wine; it was actually more of a mead since it was honey based. Some people said it seemed more like alcoholic kombucha. Street parking was pretty easy to find. They take reservations.

Halle C.

Yelp
By far the BEST Ethiopian food experience I have ever had! Dishes are made from recipes that have been in the owner's family for generations. When you are there, you are treated like family, and they truly want you to have the best experience possible. I will be going back again and again and again and telling all my friends and family to do the same.

Naturelle J.

Yelp
what happened? it's been a couple of years since I last visited however this was the most disappointing meal I've endured for a lonng time. Everything tasted the same. None of the texture or sauciness and flavor that I remember. I did not eat much of a 30.00 meal.
google avatar

Hakim A.

Yelp
Friendly staff and family-owned. I &The food tasted good. It reminded me of my mom's cooking! I would most definitely go back again.
google avatar

Emmanuel T.

Yelp
Delish is a terrific spot for anyone looking to try an Ethiopian meal. The decor features various things from Ethiopia, adding to the charm and ambiance. The staff are friendly, and offer advice on what to order for those like myself who have never had Ethiopian food before. I had the Kitfo, and it was delicious! They offer it cooked a few different ways, but I recommend trying raw or medium as the flavor is so good. Definitely a great spot to come enjoy a meal with friends and family!
google avatar

Yelp
My first time for Ethiopian food and drink!! This is an awesome cultural event everyone should try at least once. Parking is on the street, but I didn't have trouble finding a spot around 4:45 pm on a weekday. I imagine on weekend it may be harder, so allow some time. Don't believe restaurant takes reservations, and it's small, so don't be disappointed if you have to wait. It will be worth it. Don't freak if you aren't experienced with Ethiopian cuisine. The owners (husband and wife) have put together a delightful menu of traditional Ethiopian dishes including some combinations (highly recommended) that allow you to sample pretty much everything on one plate. Before you start, try an Ethiopian beer!!! I've had many beers from around the world, but this was another first. A good pale lager. I tried the meat platter even though their specialties are the vegetable and legume plates. Wow, some very cool spiced dishes with flavors I've not sure I've ever experienced. And dip it all up in the injera, a traditional bread made from teff flower. The combo platters are big enough to share, so just let everyone dip right in!!! What a great experience. The owners and their extended family go out of their way to make you feel welcome, make recommendations, and the husband will give you a virtual tour of the restaurants authentic community tables and Ethiopian artwork. The real star is the wife, running the kitchen and turning out these "delish" dishes . The name is certainly right! Give this a try if you are fans of worldly cuisines. Give this a try if you've never had Ethiopian or any authentic African continent meal, you'll be glad you did

Yelp
Ethiopian food is very popular and is a kind of international food that is eaten by people from all over the world Onebestnight@gmail.com
