Adventure Mystic Kayak/SUP/Bike Rental & Retail Shop

I had an amazing time kayaking at Adventure Mystic on Thanksgiving Day! The scenery was absolutely beautiful, with the bright sun reflecting on the water. Jeff was incredibly friendly and funny.The kayaks were in great condition, and I loved exploring the Mystic River. It was the perfect way to spend the holiday, getting outside and enjoying some fresh air. I highly recommend Adventure Mystic for anyone looking to have a fun and memorable kayaking adventure!

Adventure Mystic is an awesome business! Very friendly owner and other staff as well. This was my first time ever visiting Mystic, and renting a Trek bicycle from this place was the best choice I have made! I rode everyday for three days and for a very reasonable price 😁 ... Make sure you check them out of your in the area!

Jeff and Melissa curated a fun and active biking tour of Mystic with favorite sights/activities of my husband’s, all to help me surprise him for his big birthday. Jeff was a fun and friendly tour guide for our group of 4. The equipment was up to date and Jeff was concerned for the group’s safety at all times. This was our first time to Mystic. I highly recommend this activity for small groups.

I stopped into Adventure Mystic today because I was specifically looking for used snowboard bindings for my daughter. Jeff was super friendly and helpful. He had the right bindings in stock, let me trade in a pair that didn’t fit and apply the credit toward my purchase, and put the new bindings on the board for me on the spot. The whole process was easy and stress-free. They also have a great selection of used snowboard gear and a lot of really cool SUP gear. I’ll definitely be back, especially when it gets warmer!

My husband and I visited Adventure Mystic on a Sunday the first week of October. We chose the morning bike ride to Clydes Cider Mill at 9am. The weather was perfect and going early was great to beat traffic and the mill wasn't packed. The ride there and back is along the water and through different neighborhoods with gorgeous houses. Jeff was a great guide. He made sure we had bikes that felt good and frequently checked in on us during our ride. He gave us great info about the area and even pointed out some fun nature. Would love to take another bike tour or get out on the water with a kayak next time we are in Mystic.

BEYOND excellent; from the staff interactions to the actual experience this was our favorite part of our trip to Mystic. We came in mid-May when many other companies are closed for the season so we were so happy Adventure Mystic was open!! The river was so beautiful and easy to paddle and our tandem kayak was very nice and roomy. Jeff and the woman at the desk were so great: she gave us sunscreen and he offered us a dry bag for our clothes, a phone case for our phones, and gave us really easy and clear instructions on the trip. It was so much fun, they have a great operation going - would definitely recommend using them!

We rented single kayaks for a half day. Boats are in great condition (relatively wide and super stable), and we did a long exploration of the Mystic River and Harbor. The owner and staff handling boats were all super friendly and gave us pointers about the area, on and off the water.

My son and I rented kayaks here in the past and had a great experience. Today I decided to purchase a kayak. They’re in-store selection for sales could be better, but the quality of merchandise and pricing was just what I needed.

Mystic adventure CT, They are reliable, with integrity. I recommend them to anyone who is looking for a paddleboard or kayak. Jeff, the owner, always takes the time to answer any questions I may have and provides me with all the options available--from different types of paddleboards. Shop takes time to teach and show you proper body position and to be a fast paddler. I'm a new paddle owner and already going miles out there!

My wife and I decided to venture to mystic and rent kayaks. This was a great company. Nice staff and overall a really fun experience.

My friend and I wanted to do stand up paddle surfing (SUP) and we decided to take the lesson. We had a great time! Jeff, the instructor, was clear with directions and we were both able to stand on the board first try within minutes. I had never surfed or stood on a board before. I had watched a few YouTube videos so I had an idea of how to do it but was still nervous about it. It's harder on the legs than I thought but it was a lot of fun. An hour was plenty of time in the water for our first time. Planning to come back again in the future.

Make this your first choice for paddle board and kayak- Jeff and the rest of the crew here are fantastic! Super friendly, courteous, quality equipment and instruction.

I love dealing with small businesses...not greedy box stores. Jeff has been most helpful and accommodating... Last year I became obsessed with finding a certain Yolo board. Due to COVID-19 supply's were a bit behind... Jeff was able to get the board I wanted. It arrived at his shop in early December. I had Christmas to deal with and my mothers health issues..... so Jeff held onto the board for me until today when I was able to pick it up... I was very pleased with how helpful and personable he was helping me Secure the board to my vehicle. What a great location he is right on the river in Mystic... can't wait to return next week as I am going to purchase a second board

We had a great experience top to bottom at Paddle Mystic/Adventure Mystic. We got two solo kayaks, we had a reservation and it was also super quick to sign off on the waiver, get a life jacket & be off in our kayaks. Affordable, fun, friendly service. Oh, and it was walkable from our hotel, super easy to walk over and then head to happy hour at Grass & Bone after -- yum! FYI, they have small lockers in the shack to stash things you don't want to take out with you and there was a little compartment built into the kayak too. We were looking forward to getting in a half or full day of bike rentals too, but it didn't work out time-wise. Beautiful bikes, though!

This place is great! We rented a kayak and were out on the river for about an hour or so. Jeff was extremely accommodating and made sure that it was safe for us to go out, even before we got there (talked over the phone). I highly recommend this place if you are in Mystic and want to go paddle boarding, kayaking, etc. Awesome service!

They don't have online reservations and they aren't the best are answering the phones. We figured we'd be able to do a walk in since we couldn't get ahold of them and they have so many kayaks and paddle boards. However they said no walk-ins and to call and try to get something for later in the day. I called them about 5 more times until someone answered and they didn't have anything until 4pm. They seemed to have plenty of kayaks and boards not being used but they must have been booked for later in the afternoon.

This place is a must if you want to experience Mystic to its fullest. Meaning, you need to see the town from the perspective from the water. The business has paddle board and kayak options (as well as bicycles) - we chose the kayaks and paddled up the river and down to marinas near the ocean. Meeting the owner was also pleasant as he is open and friendly with tips and hints for you to enjoy it all.

What a great experience and Jeff and Pat were awesome. We bought 2 kayaks and roof rack from Jeff, couldn't be happier. He was great letting us try different styles and helped us pick the best for us. No pressure and great price for everything. Best place to rent a kayak, Paddle board, and bikes. If you go to Mystic and want great fun and Adventure check them out.

Had a really great time! The service was awesome, the prices were reasonable, even with add-ons like a waterproof pouch for my phone and a bluetooth speaker. It was my first time paddle-boarding, and it was a lot easier that I thought to get started. The area were we paddle boarded was really easy to get around, and there was a lot to see.

Rented 2 paddle boards. Totally worth the money. 30 bucks each for an hour of paddling down the river, you get to check out a bunch of cool boats along the river, people shout hi from the docks, you get to kneel down and paddle under a drawbridge. Excellent way to spend an afternoon in Mystic. It made my trip!!

My husband and I were visiting Connecticut from New Orleans and decided to visit a Mystic. After walking around for a bit we stumbled upon Paddle Mystic and we couldn't have been happier. We were there a little later in the afternoon and they were more than happy to get us set up for a couple of fun hours. Neither of us had tried paddle boarding before but they gave us quick, easy to understand instructions and 20 minutes into our adventure people were asking us for advice, "because we looked like we'd been doing it for years." Yeah that brag was mostly about us but still, without Paddle Mystic we wouldn't have had that great ego boost. I've been following them on facebook and Instagram and love seeing great pics of people having fun all summer. Anytime we're in the area again we'll be going back.

This review should have come a month ago so here goes. Stopped by their counter for some info. The owner was there with if correct one or two of his sons. He was very helpful with info and treated my 13&7 year old great. Gave them his logo stickers. I explained that I would prob need to rent one or two kayaks and then asked where would I put my personal kayaks in the water? He explained that if I was to rent from him that he would gladly allow me to put my others in off his ramp. I find that to be great customer service. And again the way he treated my children was exceptional. Thanks Dave V.

I cannot say enough amazing things about this business. The communication with the owner was amazing. He was accommodating, helpful and funny. There were seven of us renting paddle boards and we had such a great time despite a little rain! All the equipment was in amazing condition and the staff was friendly and helpful. You can tell the owner loves what he does and goes above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your experience! Highly recommend!!

Had a great time paddle boarding today with my family for a birthday celebration. My husband, kids and I took a lesson with Jeff. He is funny, friendly and very knowledgeable. I think we all got solid info and instruction from him on land and on the water. Jeff, along with all the employees were extremely friendly, professional and - nice. We had a great day. I will definitely go back again to paddle board and recommend Adventure Mystic to people.

I want to paddle Mystic and purchased a paddleboard a few hours after trying one further down the coast line, the next couple days I taking it out but I was having trouble with it and wasn't sure if it was me or the new pedal board. Since I'm still new to it I called them and set up an appointment for a lesson. Juicy himself took me out personally and plan it out what I was doing wrong and teaching me how to do it right. I felt much more confident after that and after the lesson I went to the Boost to play and he refused payment as I bought the board a few days prior. To be honest I definitely was not expecting that. I love how they stand by their customers even after the sale.

Had the absolute best time kayaking today! If you're looking for something fun you gotta check this place out! The people are Beyond nice and very informative and helpful! This is a definite go to. We will be back! You can explore the entire River and go by at the seaport, it is so cool. The best part it is very reasonably priced.

We got to the office a few minutes just to check in. We could have left for kayaking right them, he had the paperwork all ready for us. But we had to do a couple of things beforehand. Then when we showed up ready to paddle he was already to tell us what to do. Very friendly. If you need guidance they were ready to tell you what to do but we had kayaked before. Lovely view and plenty of space to paddle around. I put Adventure Mystic in my contacts and plan to come back again. Oh, and so easy to make reservations online.

My family and I had a great time. The owner Jeff made everything easy and enjoyable. The other employees were awesome and helpful. We will definitely do this again real soon and often. Thanks for the memories.
