I came in a caravan and a nice spot right on the beach side. Excellent camp with very clean sanitary. Views are stunning, fishing is fun and plenty. The host was a champion, very helpful and kind. This is a year round camp that also has beautiful glass cabins and domes. Highly recommend it.

There are no words to describe this place. We stayed in one of the igloos on the water’s edge and we saw the northern lights the two nights we were there. The people that work there are incredibly friendly and willing to help. The breakfast system works so well, you order exactly what you want the night before and then it gets delivered to your igloo at a designated time the next morning. The actual igloo was wonderful. Everything in there was extremely good quality, especially the bed and the two perfectly positioned seats for northern lights spotting. There was a log fire and multiple heaters to make sure we were always warm. Even the tea and coffee selection was good with lots of different options. We did the snowmobile adventure which was 10/10. Even the two hour drive to and from the snowmobile track was enjoyable as it was so beautiful and our guide put a lot of effort into making sure we all had a fun and memorable time. If you book on their website you get free car hire for the time you are staying with them. This was also amazing. We ended up with a Range Rover and managed to extend the rental to cover a longer part of our trip for excellent value. Overall, this is a really special place to visit.

This place was AMAZING to stay at! We stayed in one of the glass panoramic cabins and, while a splurge, was incredible. Well worth the money. The unobstructed view of the fjord to wake up to each morning was incredible. They delivered breakfast free of charge straight to your cabin each morning. And it was soooo delicious. There is a free sauna that you can use with another incredible view! We had luck of seeing the northern lights 3 nights we spent there! Although if the weather is not in your favor, you may not have such luck. We could see the stars and the northern lights right from our bed! Much better viewing than you would get in the city! We also did the snow mobile trip which was a blast! The cabin had a lovely kitchen, toilet, and shower. Not much room for storage, but it was not a large issue. HIGHLY recommend! Do not miss this place!

DISHONEST & NON RESPONSIVE HOTEL |We booked direct with the hotel in December 2024 for 1 night stay together with the King Crab tour in Mar 2025. We expected for the best rate with the early and direct booking. Beware if you wanna book direct with non refundable rates and full payment as you may end up with the following nasty experiences that we encountered. |Firstly the room rates had fluctuated and deviated on the direct website when we checked few weeks before our travel date. We wrote to the hotel to clarify but ended up with an unforeseen reply that the original king crab tour date that we had booked way ahead cannot be honored. We were forced to accept the earlier tour date that falls on our late arrival in Tromso. We could have missed the tour if we didn’t write in to the hotel. |As expected, we arrived late evening at the hotel and the tour had begun we missed the beginning part of the tour including the killing and preparation of the king crab before they serve them for our dinner. |We did highlight our concern to the staff on duty though the manager that was agreed to meet us the next morning did not turn up and refused to speak to us. In the end the staff had gotten approval from the manager to refund a portion of the tour fee. This was further confirmed in an email.|It was really to our great disappointment that despite all WhatsApp and email reminders to follow up on the refund that was agreed upon, till today 2 months after our stay we received no respond nor reply to the status of the refund.|THINK TWICE before you book this hotel.

We have mixed emotions writing this review. On the one hand, we had a nice stay and achieved our goal of seeing the aurora from bed in our glass lodge. Aera, however, seems to suffer from an identity crisis. Are they a primarily self serve “camp” or a luxury accommodation as the very high price suggests?||Positives:|- Beautiful, panoramic view of the fjord and mountains |- Breakfast brought to you each morning|- Rental car included with the room|- Young man who ran the King Crab Experience was friendly and enthusiastic, assuring we were served before a large tour group came in. ||Concerns:|- The rental car was electric and they do not have a charging station. The closest charger is 25 minutes away. |- You need to pull the curtains up in the panoramic room if you want any privacy. They are right next to each other. |- A great deal of light pollution. |- As others have stated, little room for suitcases and the shower flooded. |- You are 35 minutes from town and there is no bar available to relax. There is a lavvu with a fire but you need to bring your own drink. |- The “restaurant” is not really a restaurant. You preorder your food during the day and they hand you a pot of what your ordered at the table when you arrive. Not really actual service and not even light music playing in the background. ||It has potential to be a lovely resort but the way it is currently run, we would not go back for the price.

What an experience! I am so glad that we managed to book one night in their glass cabin. Driving to the resort was interesting for my husband, his first ever drive in Nordics on snowy and icy roads. Whole place is so cozy and comfortable. During our stay, staff were very friendly and helpful. And what a view! I thought we were going to miss the northern lights due to the cloudy and snowing weather, but it did not disappoint us, squeezed in a stunning show through the gaps of the clouds. Have to mention the king crab dinner, amazing!

Lovely and cozy, quiet and homey, we rested and relaxed and loved the setting and hospitality. This was a perfect stay. Saw the lights 3/4 nights, went horseback riding (highly recommend) and also the King Crab dinner. Jonas and the team were so kind. We loved it all. Thank you! Lynee and Jessica

We loved this stay. It's expensive (everything is in Norway) and for us it was well worth it. We stayed in igloo 4 and were pleased with the thoughtful little luxuries this place included in that price (we have sometimes experienced "luxury" stays that then nickel and dime you for everything). ||The igloo was plenty warm! All the firewood you need is included and delivered. There are also space heaters and a huge down comforter. Slippers are provided so you don't track your wet boots all over. It was cozy and lovely. ||Breakfast, included, and dinner, self-pay, can be delivered to your accommodation. This was wonderful and we absolutely loved our cozy evenings and mornings with our meals. There is only one vegetarian dinner option, so after I had that our first night, I did a ready-meal packet from their convenience store for my second night. Breakfast is delicious and had some nice breads (cinnamon roll, croissant). Dinner comes in a nice basket with the stews in cast iron pots. Very charming --one stew may be enough to share with one other person if you are not big eaters. ||We had a beautiful view out across the water and felt so lucky to have two clear gorgeous nights of aurora. The clear panels on the igloo do let you see if aurora is out (and the desk will text you an alert to look until 10:30 PM) but to truly see it, you'll need to get out of your accommodation. I preferred this a LOT to an aurora chase we did because the aurora chase was so so cold and, once cold, no way to warm up. Here, I just popped back into the igloo. ||Bathrooms are nice and heated, which was great. I also reserved the included sauna, and it has an attached bathroom. So it was nice to have that to myself for an hour.||I agree with the negative reviews of including an electric rental car when the property doesn't have charging. Including the car is terrific. We liked the freedom it gave us and driving in Norway was not hard. But having never used an e-vehicle made it a bad choice. The person at the rental told us when we asked about recharging, "it's easy, just follow the screens". It's not easy, it takes a long time that you have to wait, and requires apps that no one explained to us. If they include an e-vehicle, the rental company needs to be ready to explain better. Also the rental guy goes to lunch midday for an indeterminate time and then you just have to wait as no one comes in while he is gone. I won't ever rent an e-vehicle again after this experience.
