Downtown Aēsop is the Aēsop for me, but I like to check out other Aēsops when I'm in the area. It's not cheating if I don't buy - just a little harmless flirting! Downtown Aēsop, baby, you know I loves you! Don't get mad at a man for just looking!
The Third Street Aēsop is small, bright, breezy - a much more typically "L.A." store than either Downtown or Silver Lake. (I haven't visited the other three as of yet.) it fits in with the West Third vibe perfectly without trying too hard like some places. (I don't want to say Le Labo, but let's just say it rhymes with "De Dabo.") The service at the West Third Aēsop is the one thing I don't love as much as the Downtown or Silver Lake stores: Pauline, the manager, is amazing. She's one of the best Aēsop specialists around. But on my last visit, she wasn't in, and the service was just... cold. Like I was intruding. I felt like the sales associates were just waiting for me to go. And so I did.
Aēsop will always score high in my books, but after my last trip to the West Third Aēsop, this particular store isn't hitting the tippy top.
