Aethos Monterosa (Champoluc, Valle d'Aosta) 2 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Though it’s less famous than some other Alpine ski resorts, Monterosa, in the Val D’Aosta, is spectacular — and Champoluc, its largest village, is directly connected to the lift system for easy access. It’s here that you’ll find Aethos Monterosa, a hotel whose mission is to place as few obstacles as possible between you and the adventure you’ve come to the Alps to experience." - Tablet Hotels

Don’t let the work in the garden put you off, there’s still plenty of space to relax outside. They’re building an outdoor heated pool which will be fabulous, alongside the amazing indoor pool. We’ve had a wonderful 4 days here, and experienced everything they have to offer. The climbing wall is a first for me, and was great fun with the instructor Tomas making me feel safe and confident. The e-bikes are great, we cycled 22kms up the mountain and back, the walk to the Blue Lake is spectacular. We also enjoyed yoga and massages. The food is healthy, plentiful and delicious. If you like the outdoors and a cool vibe this is the place to come. I can’t recommend it highly enough. The staff have all been wonderful, a special mention to the 2 ladies at breakfast and to Alice who has looked after our every request and helped make our stay so special. We can’t wait to come back!

Really fantastic hotel, definitely 5*. So clean and modern with all facilities spotless. Rooms super clean. The bed was so comfy - I had such a great, silent nights sleep. Breakfast is out of this world - one of the best I’ve tried. If you have a dog, this place is also great as you have a garden and beautiful little walk behind (so lots of grass!) the team there are also lovely. Location is good, just out of the village so good to have a car if you want to go for dinner etc. But it makes it quiet and peaceful. The spa was very nice. The outdoor area was closed (they were just opening for summer) so we could only use the indoor one but I loved that you have to book a time so you can have the spa area to yourself. Very nice touch. Overall I would recommend this place to stay.

This hotel and it's staff are absolutely outstanding. My husband and our two children enjoyed 5 nights here in two mountain suites in February. The breakfast is exceptional, we never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes for a transfer to/from the hotel and this service was also available in the evening to local restaurants. The spa facilities and prebooking was perfect so that the areas were not overcrowded. Special mentions to Alice and Ricardo who were so helpful and knowledgeable. We will be back for sure and are eager to try other Aethos hotels! Thank you for making our holiday so special.

TLDR; The hotel is currently under renovation. Construction hours 10:00-17:00 We booked two nights and after a five-hour drive were shocked to find out upon arrival that the hotel is under renovation. When we asked the receptionist why this information doesn’t appear anywhere (neither on Booking.com nor on their own website), she admitted they are aware it’s not mentioned. We asked to meet a manager and were allowed to look around. From the pool area we could clearly see a gravel-crushing machine right across the way — which, during working hours, would make an unbearable noise. The staff explained that construction takes place daily between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM. At that point we asked to cancel our stay. We hesitated whether to leave a review because we don’t want to harm the livelihood of the hotel’s staff. However, we left with the clear impression that our time and vacation were not respected, and that the renovations were intentionally hidden from us. That said, the hotel itself does look beautiful, and once the renovations are finished there will probably be an additional pool and more rooms.

Stayed for a week here, the real gem is the service, we had a lovely time with everyone on the staff, they're very welcoming and friendly, felt like you could ask them for help with anything. In particular, Laila from the Bar service and the masseuse at the spa were just awesome, some of the best folks I encountered in these seasonal hotels. The hotel itself is a very welcoming place, it's beautiful but I wish the family room were a tad bigger. Breakfast was super super good and lunch was also great, dinners were a pain point with dishes becoming smaller and smaller, but the food you did get was good. Overall a fantastic place with fantastic people, thank you for having us <3

Amazing experience in a fantastic place. High quality service with very nice people. Breakfast is legendary and the room on 2 floors make us feel at home. We are looking for the next holidays at Aethos Monterosa and Champoluc.

A super mountain hotel in the truest sense of the word |Nestling on the edge of the forest, Aethos Monterosa is an atypical hotel |Featuring modern architecture with natural materials.|It is located halfway between the 2 Champoluc ski lifts and an efficient shuttle service takes you there throughout the day (free during the day and paying in the evening)|This hotel is atypical for its unique range of leisure activities |A high-quality climbing wall is available to guests free of charge, as is an ice wall (paying activity). I've never seen anything like it!|The hotel's authentic mountain theme is fully validated.|The rooms are very large and well equipped.|There are 2 quality restaurants, with a preference for the Japanese.|The spa is also very large, with a well-equipped indoor area that must be booked in advance (there was enough availability during our stay), a large 25 m indoor pool and 2 outdoor wood-heated jacuzzis, as well as a traditional sauna.|The price of the treatments, which I personally find too high, is regrettable.|Aethos Monterosa is positioned for families, which is appreciable for this type of hotel.|The service is good but could, in certain situations, be a little more personalised given the category of the hotel (reception, ski room)|I would, however, recommend it unreservedly as the services are so original. The location and the practical aspect for skiing meet our expectations.|Thank you to all the team
