AFS Cinema

I love AFS! I recently re-discovered it after not going for over a year and now I want to visit more often. They have such an amazing selection of deep cut movies from all decades and newer releases. Everyone working here is so kind as well. Also the AFS gin & tonic is AMAZING.

AFS Cinema has been a longtime host of Austin Asian American Film Festival. Aaron and Chandra are a pleasure to work with for our rental needs of our 5-day film festival and Nick over projection is a pro at handling our files. Cody and the theater staff team are the best and always make sure our audience members have a great time keeping their hands stocked with treats and drinks as they watch 5 days of Asian American cinema. They even go the extra mile to ensure we have the most updated accessibility options information available for all patrons needing a variety of accommodations. Our Sweet 16th year was no exception! We hosted everything from film screenings, receptions, our box office/will call, red carpet, etc at AFS Cinema and everything was a seamless experience. Our audience surveys about the venue are always some of the highest ratings year after year.

These Candlelight concerts are a must see. I truly enjoyed the performance and will definitely be booking more in the future!! ❤️

My absolute favorite cinema for independent films and restored gems from the past. Can’t ever remember being disappointed, and usually get schooled on the art form. My absolute best film experiences were at @AFS.

Beautiful small cinema, the quality of the screens and audio was great and the staff was really kind :)

Gorgeous place! Classic, organized and the lighting is just right, especially for individuals with light-sensitive eyes, the Candlelight event was beautiful, though the seating placement is too eye-level instead of it being stadium-like/lower angle and it made the performance tough to see and enjoy fully.

This theater is phenomenal. I went here for a film festival to view my own film in a competition it's not just a projector setup with some chairs this is an actual full-fledged movie theater with a concession stand drinks and all the things you would expect from a theater. The staff there was incredibly nice respectful and attentive. The seats were extremely comfortable and cushioning and they even reclined a little bit this is the type of experience you want to have now at a theater. 10/10
