Après la Sieste (Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres, Occitanie) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Après la Sieste’s name is no idle promise: this 19th-century guest house just outside of Avignon promises peace and quiet, and follows through with its adults-only policy. With just six rooms and a cottage, it’s vanishingly small, and its contemporary, boutique-inspired interiors vary from the minimalistic to the out-and-out Zen (in the room of the same name, which comes complete with a little Buddha statue and a vast soaking tub). The pool, the gardens, and the courtyard, with its olive trees, are idyllic, and you’re perfectly placed for day trips to Avignon, Nimes, and the Cévennes." - Tablet Hotels

If you are looking for a place to rest with very good energy, this is it. A truly hidden gem, peaceful and charming. Rooms are comfortable , good size, bed and pillows are really nice as well. Charles and his wife are great hosts and kind people. They helped us in everything we needed. Breakfast is really good, with home made little cakes, jelly, variety of cheeses, breads, juices. I truly recommend this place!

We had an lovely time at Apres La Sieste and I can imagine we will return! The guesthouse enables you to relax and calm down - just lay in a hammock or read a book by the pool. Homemade Breakfast was lovely, rooms were well equipped and comfortable. On site parking availabe (but requires skill for larger cars). St Laurent is pleasant surprise - all amenities closeby, well situated towards most touristic highlights. Thank you Charles for making the final stretch of our trip a highlight,

We enjoyed our two night stay at Apres La Sieste. Our room was spacious and the decor is very cool. The garden terrace where breakfast is served is very pretty and the breakfast is fabulous. Home made jams and cakes are included in the generous and quality breakfast which is artfully laid out. The hosts are very helpful with suggestions of surrounding areas. It is a good location for day trips to Avingnon (20 minutes by car) and the very charming town of Uzes. Nimes and the Pont du Gard are also easy day trips. The garden and pool are a lovely place to cool down and relax after a day out touring the sites.

We stayed for over a week in the quatrieme sieste room and we found the hotel to be a fantastic base for touring the area. Located just 15-20 minutes from Avignon, 15 to Chateauneuf du Pape and the same to numerous other winemaking villages, we had a great time driving around and visiting everything we could. If you're planning on using the hotel as a base like we did, than I highly recommend the quatrieme sieste as it has a kitchen. There aren't really many restaurants close by and we more than happily ended up cooking every day- there's a supermarket 2 minutes drive away to stock up on provisions.||||Overall, we can highly recommend the hotel. The breakfasts are amazing and Charles and Laurence will go out of their way to help you with anything you need. The place itself is beautifully decorated and there's a lovely, large swimming pool to cool off in as well. ||||Tips- if you're into wine (we own a winery in Chile so we that was our focus), then this is a great place to be, obviously! Almost all the wineries in Chateauneuf offer free tastings (even of their top of the range wines), as do the wineries in other villages, such as Tavel, Lirac etc. It's an incredible opportunity to taste wines you can't otherwise afford..!||||Take advantage of the great location to visit other towns such as Uzes, Arles, Baux de Provence etc- they're all less than an hour away and if you take the back roads, you see some amazing scenery.

Charles and Laurence welcome you in the house. The house is very nice. A dinning room with an open kitchen and a living room on the first floor. The second floor offers a nice bedroom with a very comfortable bed and a bathroom with a bubble bath. The third floor is comprised of a bedroom and a nice bathroom with an incredible shower. ||The price of this house is very very affordable. The owners are here to help you in anyway they can without being intrusive.||The place is 8 miles from Avignon 10 to 12 miles from the Pont Du Gard. Wonderful cellars and chateau of the cotes du Rhone.||This is a deal.

We had a lovely stay at Après la sieste. Beautiful house, spacious and very comfortable bedrooms (especially the two suites with the private terrasse) and great breakfast in the courtyard under the vine leaves... Laurence and Charles were very helpful in trying to make our stay a great experience, providing us with good tips and booking various restaurants / activities for us. This was our second stay at Après la Sieste, and - without a doubt - not the last one! We strongly recommend this B&B for anyone looking for a romantic getaway, and for those wanting a relaxing family vacation in this beautiful region.

We rented the gite for two weeks. It's sympathetically renovated and very comfortable. It sits within the same grounds as the chambres d'hotes and has a lovely salt pool and if you like gardens, there's a beautiful garden to check out. Charles and Laurence achieve the perfect balance between being welcoming and helpful and leaving you to get on with your holiday. The location of the property is the perfect place to explore the area. It's only about 30 mins drive from Avignon TGV if coming in by train. There are many vineyards around to visit; the Camargue is only 1hr 20 away; the Ardeche is only 40 mins away; there is a wonderful market in Uzes on Saturdays. The village itself is very quite (with good tourist information centre in the castle) and there are two boulangeries (Boulangerie Rodriguez is by far the best) and a great restaturant (Le Papet - necessary to book and you can just have drink here in the afternoons). I would strongly recommend this place. It was a good restorative holiday - lots to do around but such a wonderful place to just relax and read on those lazy days too.
