Quality afternoon tea that not only looks wonderful (without too much artificial coloring) but also tastes great. Service is attentive. The only downside is it’s in the lobby so the ambiance is slightly lacking, no view, no afternoon tea-feeling decor.
Mocktail has a mango taste, followed by raspberry juice. Not too sweet. The cocktail also tastes good even for someone who doesn’t like alcohol. It’s actually quite refreshing.
Sandwiches are pretty hearty. Although I usually dislike egg salad, this one with truffle tastes incredibly good and is the best among all of the three options. Creamy and rich.
Scones are less traditional. More on the bun/soft bread roll side than the crumbly scone side. (Maybe some yeast is involved?) Tasty, and I actually enjoy the subtle springiness, but I can’t say it’s the best “scone” I’ve had—It isn’t the typical English scone I’d introduce to my foreign friends. But the kitchen made lemon ginger jam is so special and delicious.
The desserts: The peanut one is a favorite! Rich peanut butter cup flavor balanced by coffee paste in the center. The coffee puff one is also lovely, with some oozing Nutella like sauce wrapped in the fluffy sweet coffee cream. The one with savory pepper cracker is also good. Raspberry jelly is very fruity.
Ice cream is alright. Not a big fan of vanilla anyways.
