Afternoon Tea At The Bvlgari Lounge - Review - Knightsbridge - London - The Infatuation

"Afternoon tea is a British tradition that is served at plenty of London hotels, and the last place we would choose to experience it is at the Bvlgari Hotel. Served in the dark lobby of this five-star Knightsbridge hotel, the afternoon tea is a disappointing afterthought. Tea is served to the sound of obnoxiously loud business calls and interior design consultations, and once the food arrives, you’ll realise why no one else is indulging in this £90 meal (that’s before a £25 glass of champagne). The sandwiches manage to be soggy and stale at the same time, smoked salmon is arranged between layers of thick cream cheese and three types of bread to form an off-putting ‘millefoglie’, and the scones are sad, dense, little balls instead of the usual light, fluffy texture. Take our advice and book any of these spots instead. photo credit: Rianne Shlebak" - Rianne Shlebak

I spent the afternoon here today with two of my gorgeous friends. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea with a selection of finger sandwiches, warm scones and delightful desserts! Afternoon tea is served in the main lounge area on the same level as the reception/ground floor. The atmosphere of the lounge area was relaxed and calm. The service was attentive, friendly and professional. Overall, it was a pleasure being served at this establishment today. The overall experience was lovely and I look forward to returning so that I can enjoy another Saturday afternoon here.

I calm place to sit and bring your laptop. I went in the evening and they open until around 10:30pm. The pistachio cake was really good, staff was really friendly as well taking his time to tell me about various cakes and his experience within Bvlgari. I’d recommend this place for a nice me time or tea time with your friends!😊

Quality afternoon tea that not only looks wonderful (without too much artificial coloring) but also tastes great. Service is attentive. The only downside is it’s in the lobby so the ambiance is slightly lacking, no view, no afternoon tea-feeling decor. Mocktail has a mango taste, followed by raspberry juice. Not too sweet. The cocktail also tastes good even for someone who doesn’t like alcohol. It’s actually quite refreshing. Sandwiches are pretty hearty. Although I usually dislike egg salad, this one with truffle tastes incredibly good and is the best among all of the three options. Creamy and rich. Scones are less traditional. More on the bun/soft bread roll side than the crumbly scone side. (Maybe some yeast is involved?) Tasty, and I actually enjoy the subtle springiness, but I can’t say it’s the best “scone” I’ve had—It isn’t the typical English scone I’d introduce to my foreign friends. But the kitchen made lemon ginger jam is so special and delicious. The desserts: The peanut one is a favorite! Rich peanut butter cup flavor balanced by coffee paste in the center. The coffee puff one is also lovely, with some oozing Nutella like sauce wrapped in the fluffy sweet coffee cream. The one with savory pepper cracker is also good. Raspberry jelly is very fruity. Ice cream is alright. Not a big fan of vanilla anyways.

Delicious food! Very underwhelmed with space. It felt like I was at an hotel lobby and if that was not enough there's someone loudly conducting business near us, which made for an unpleasant experience. If the space was different I would give it 5 stars!

The hotel is absolutely stunning, and the cafe in the lobby is no exception. I tried their famous cake and it did not disappoint! It was absolutely delicious and definitely lived up to the hype. would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing atmosphere.
