Google
My new favorite place for black garlic ramen. Served hot and tasted flavorful. We love the crispy bak choy. As for chirashi don, the fish wasn't as fresh as expected. Will return to explore other dishes.

Google
Afuri Beaverton absolutely delivered one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. I was looking for top restaurant recommendations around Beaverton, and after checking a couple sources, I asked ChatGPT—which nailed it by suggesting Afuri. I love ramen and sushi, and this locally-run spot clearly knows what it’s doing. I had the tonkotsu pork ramen with black garlic, along with a side of pork belly, and it was flawless—rich, deep flavors, perfect noodles, and beautifully cooked pork. We also shared the salmon tacos and pork dumplings—both were excellent—and I really enjoyed their house IPA as well. The whole experience felt thoughtful and dialed-in. Even my boss said it was the best ramen he’s had in a long time. I couldn’t agree more. This place deserves all the praise. Great food, great service, and a strong local vibe. Highly recommended!

Good rich tonkotsu broth. I wish the chashu had more flavor though. The yuzu limeade is good. I hope to try the basque cheesecake next time.

Google
We took a large group of students here. The staff was absolutely incredible. For many in our group, this was the first time having ramen. The staff worked hard to answer questions and care for us. The food was delicious. The fried dumplings were fun.

Google
Amazing in every way. The food, the service, the atmosphere. We were originally headed to my favorite sushi spot in Beaverton directly across the way which was closed. I'm glad they were closed because we discovered this amazing restaurant. So now we have two incredible places to eat right near downtown Beaverton. Everything was worth the price that was paid. Highly recommended

Google
Worth the wait! By far the best ramen I've ever had! Staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was perfectly cooked and flavorful!

Google
Amazing ramen restaurant in downtown Beaverton near Portland. I would highly recommend this shoyu ramen and house made fried chicken. They have a big menu of cocktails and Japanese beers as well. The edemame and tuna are great as appetizers as well. The staff are always welcoming and are very knowledgeable about the menu.

Google
Loved the entire experience. I’ve been here several times and they don’t disappoint. Love their original gyoza, edamame, hazelnut Ramen, and their cocktails! The new server and the bartender were especially friendly.

Yelp
Afuri Ramen was a really solid spot for a good bowl of ramen. The broth was super flavorful--rich and balanced without being too heavy. The woodward mushroom slices were such a nice touch, adding great texture and a bit of earthiness. The noodles were perfectly bouncy, and the pork was tender and not rough, which I have experienced many ramen restaurants mess up on. The quality is very noticeable! Not shown in the picture that we got was the Chicken Karaage which was also very good, perfectly crispy and juicy on the inside. The vibe of the restaurant is also really nice. It's modern and clean but still feels cozy, making it a great place to sit down and enjoy a meal. Definitely on the higher end for the size but you get the quality in return for your buck!

Yelp
My husband and I loved our dinner here! The employees were friendly and helpful with recommendation, the restaurant was cozy, and the food was delicious! We enjoyed every dish we ordered, and we'll definitely be back!

Yelp
We came here for dinner as it was a cold night and something soupy sounds good. It's been awhile since I last dined here. The inside is nice and spacious and well lit. We ordered some drinks, which were good. I enjoyed the Pistachio Sour and their Toki highball. The Tonkatsu Miso ramen was good and flavorful. The service was decent (until the end, we couldn't find out original waiter, but someone else helped us at the end).

Yelp
The HIGHS: - We went 2 times during their 3 yr anniversary when the ramen was 50% off - I like the variety in ramens they offer especially the tsukemen (dry ramen with sauce on the side) - The hazelnut tantanmen was surprisingly flavorful with solid spice level - Big windows and evening lighting creates a nice mood The MIDS: - The tonkotsu didn't really stand out to me; noodles, chashu pork, and broth was just fine - Drinks were OK, I felt like there were so many drinks that either had yuzu, lime, or lemon in it (all so similar to each other) - would like to see more variety - Service was fine The LOWS: - None CONCLUSION: - For me, this place is a pleasant ramen place priced on the mid to higher end to take your partner out on a dinner date and drinks. I would skip the tonkotsu ramen and try the tsukemen (dry noodles with sauce on the side) ramen or the tantanmen if you want some BOLD flavors.

Kim L.

Yelp
Downtown Beaverton's Afuri is so nice. On my last visit I tried the yuzu tsuyu and chashu men ramen and both were really delicious. I'd recommend these two if you want relatively lighter ramen bowls because the broth from the shio and tonkotsu are too salty fatty, salty and rich. I only sampled them from my family who ordered them but preferred my ramen dishes instead. I will say service could be a little more attentive and detail oriented here. I had to wave down the waiter to get the check on my last 2 visits and the bill was miscalculated once. I would've overlooked this had I not triple checked so make sure to keep an eye on the bill.

Yelp
I enjoyed the authentic ramen this place served. I didn't even know they existed until a friend brought me here on a Wednesday evening. We walked over from a nearby restaurant, so not sure about the parking situation, There were a few street parking areas but heard enforcement is strict and you gotta pay to park. The ambiance was great and the service quite good. I normally do my Yelp check to see what is popular then quiz the waiter on what they'd eat if they were in my shoes. You may get some hidden nuggets by just asking that. I settled for a boring glass of water after being told their famous Japanese Whisky was out of stock. Bummer. I ordered the recommended $15 Tonkotsu Tantanmen. This was actually delicious with some spicy undertones. It's made with spicy sesame miso tare, pork broth, garlic bok choy, leek, white soy shiitake mushroom, sesame chili oil, garlic, ginger pork crumbles. I'd recommend this signature ramen. It's quite filling and didn't finish the rich broth. Maybe I should have come here really hungry. Definitely on my list of places to visit when I'm back in the area.

Yelp
How do you rate a place like this? Having tasted the "real thing" in Japan (in multiple locations), do you rate as compared to Japan? OK, I'm in the camp the probably no one can make Japan ramen in the states. I don't think it's possible. The pork is different, the ingredients are different, the working hours are different. Read the book by Ivan - Ramen, it explains everything. So being very familiar with the flavors, the first thing is the broth is not even close to being the same. I always order the yuzu shoyu broth ramen. This one just tasted like plain shoyu ramen. Was it bad? no. Was it like Afuri in Japan? No. The noodles and the egg were cooked perfectly. I asked for kaedama, but they don't have it here. No matter since the portion was good. The egg portion was weird, I got more like 1/3 of the egg instead of half, but it was still good. The service is really good and the food was served very quickly. I also got the Afuri Yuzu beer which I really liked - very smooth and the spicy gyoza which looked really good but was ok in reality. The place has a nice vibe and looked very trendy. It's a solid place to get ramen, but don't expect to know what Afuri ramen in Japan really tastes like.

Yelp
Best Ramen on our Ramen crawl through Metro. Presentation 10, atmosphere 10, food 10! Just outstanding. Spicy Karaage, is a must, double portion. Porkbelly in the Tsukemen, like candy. Thank you. Coming back Valentines day to bring my gluten free, vegetarian wife. She'll love it!

Shanti Kiran N.

Yelp
My heart is saddened as I write this. One of the reasons to visit Afuri is their ever changing menu and so when we visited we were greeted with new options. I realized that their vegetarian/vegan ramen option had changed and I was down to try. I was quite disappointed to see a sad bowl sans veggies and a few mushrooms floating around. To be fair, the menu did not advertise the veggies but in comparison by husband's bowl of yuzo shio ramen was a visual hit! His bowl appeared to have been put together with much care, topped with fresh greens and whatnot. The crispy nasu bun was nice so I'm grateful their appetizers have remained intact taste wise! Based on the rave remarks from the husband, meat eaters will definitely enjoy a meal here but my advice: if you have a hungry vegetarian/vegan in your group, go somewhere else. Will I come here again? Perhaps if my husband craves their food and I don't have much of an appetite.

Yelp
I've been to one of the Portland locations for Afuri, but this location must be new since I last visited Oregon. It's definitely very different vibes than the other location. This one is very much more izakaya and casual, while the SE? portland location feels a little more upscale. Crispy Nasu bun: This was good, but I'm just not sure I would order it again. The glaze on the fried eggplant was sweet and the pickled cucumbers and radish? helped balance out the eggplant. However one order is one bun and I think for me it's just not worth it price-wise. Chicken Karaage: Really good fry on the chicken and it was still super juicy on the inside. Came out piping hot. One order is about 5 decent sized pieces. The sauce that came with was alright, I think I prefer spice over mayo based sauces. Yuzu fizz: I really really liked this drink. It was smooth, bright, refreshing, and everything I could've wanted. Would 100% order again. Buta Gyoza: The bottom wasn't as crispy as I prefer, but that's ok. The dumplings were very soft and had decent flavor. Nothing super special, but they were good. Tonkotsu tantan: Very flavorful broth, and the noodles were cooked well. I think the presentation is lacking and there aren't many toppings, but the broth and noodles were good so I can't complain too much. Very hearty and filling. Overall, I'd give it a 3.5/5 but rounded up to a 4 because they did the ramen well.

Alex B.

Yelp
The ramen was hot and the flavors were hit perfectly. We came in on a Friday Night thinking it was going to be a wait time like their branch in Portland and luckily this one did not although they were busy. It was probably because of the other available restaurants in the area. The only issue I had with this faculty was that they don't accommodate requests to change the noodle size. The original Ramen dish I wanted had thin noodles but I requested it be replaced with the thicker one and it seems that the server said he couldn't do it. Probably not going to frequent this place if they don't accommodate requests.

Laura S.

Yelp
We just had a fantastic lunch. Our Server, Sarah, was awesome. The salad, gyoza, karaage, and bun were delicious. Presentation so beautiful. Small plates are not tiny small and plenty for two. Warm sake and green tea. All perfect.

Miki M.

Yelp
First time coming here since the menu change and it was alright. They lean more towards izakaya and small bites with this new menu so it's more of a casual atmosphere. I used to order sushi and yakitori skewers here, so I was sad to see those are no longer on the menu. I ordered the Suika Soda, a Spicy Karaage Don, and a Takoyaki to share. The drink didn't have much watermelon flavor, it tasted more like a Sprite with lime. The takoyaki was fine, it was the typical deep fried type. The karaage don was my favorite, I like how juicy the chicken was and the toppings and sauce went well with it. If you enjoy ramen and apps with a beer on the side, this is the place for you. I unfortunately am not one of those people.

Yelp
So many things to love about AFURI in Beaverton. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They kindly answered all of my questions and from their answers and the way they spoke about the food, it was clear they were excited about the food they make there. The soft shell crab bun with spicy mayo is delightful. The bun is soft and pillowy, and the crab is nicely done. Loved the spicy karaage, too. The presentation is gorgeous, and it's exactly the crispy, flavorful karaage you want it to be. We tried the yuzu shoyu and the tonkotsu tantanmen, and both were warm, satisfying bowls full of great flavor. Definitely amazing on colder days, but I also love this ramen on hot days too! I find the portions here to be just right -- not too much, but definitely doesn't leave you wanting more. The space itself is a good size, it's super clean, and the noise level is decent. The only thing that might be an issue is finding a parking spot without having to walk several blocks, but that's true of this entire part of Beaverton. We usually find something that's not too far away, but just want to share that you may need to walk a few blocks for anyplace in this area due to the parking issues. We love AFURI. It's a casual spot that is great for catching up with friends after work or for family dinner.

Yelp
this was my first time visiting afuri, we went during their 3 year anniversary celebration and got the ramen at half price! the food was good but didnt stand out to me to the point where i need to go back. our servers were amazing, checked in with us making sure everything was okay, and a whole vibe!

Bexx K.

Yelp
Loved the flavors here, I wanted to get a little something from every section of the menu. I was impressed on how fast everything came out as well. We went on Thursday around 6 and was seated immediately. I love yuzu so I was in heaven. Everything was flavorful and had lovely presentation. This was a great first impression.

Mikayla C.

Yelp
We love going here for tsukemen since it's so hard to find. The only weird thing is that they always serve the broth barely warm, I really wish that the broth were hotter. Otherwise, we've had great service here and the food has been very tasty!

Jessica Z.

Yelp
I would gladly drive 3-hours from Seattle to Portland to eat at Afuri again. I got here around 4:00pm on a Sunday, and I was quickly seated. I'm not a beverage-y person, but I am so glad I ordered the shishito soda. It was light, citrusy, and very refreshing. The perfect drink for the summer! I wish I could try all the non-alcoholic drinks on their menu. For appetizers, I recommend the tori karaage. It was coated in yuzu infused batter, which gave a burst of aromatic freshness to each bite. It paired perfectly with the lemon juice and the relish sauce. Onto the ramen. The vegan hazel tantanmen tasted like all the other vegan ramens I've tried. Nothing too special. I wouldn't necessarily say that it had a hazelnutty taste...It was more of a cashew-based broth. I was not disappointed though. As for the yuzu shio ramen, it was a solid 10/10. The broths and the different noodle textures were filling and very delicious. I already can't wait to be back! I hope to visit when their seasonal items are on the menu.

Patti M.

Yelp
My bestie and I came here as a suggestion form a friend. Was the best suggestion. Everything was delish... would come again. Its a little tiny but they make it work.

Sylvia C.

Yelp
Sometimes you just want ramen, and sometimes you want noodles AND sushi...well, friend, then you've come to the right place. Though Afuri has a smaller offering of sushi/nigiri it does offer both plus fairly good drink offerings. Good for: - date spot - place to meet friends (3-6 ppl, they do have a bigger table but might take awhile) Not great if: - want a quick bite (try Fuddoyama ramen instead) - cheap date (averages $15 bowl/entree so unless you're just ordering ramen, no appetizers, drinks, entrees) NOTE: If you don't like Yuzu citrus then you may want to pass. The prominent note in their signature dishes features Yuzu, and it's not a shy flavor. This time we ordered (favorites*) - Yuzu shio ramen* - Tsukemen (warm) - Karaage with tartar sauce - Hotate (scallop) roll* - Sake (salmon) roll - Green tea* - Beef tartare with ikura & capers - Grilled Saba (Mackerel)* + add $3 bowl of rice Normally, I like the thicker chewier noodles and the tsukemen had that, but I preferred the thinner straight noodles of the Yuzu shio paired with the clean and light broth. The saba mackerel is huge! Plenty to share, and grilled & salted just right. Afuri is in the food corridor off Hall Blvd in Downtown Beaverton, and it's tucked back against a pay-to-park lot.

K B.

Yelp
I went to Afuri when it first opened in Portland and it was an instant favorite. Glad they have a closer location because it's some of the best ramen around.

Scott G.

Yelp
Was at Uwajimaya picking up some fresh frozen ramen noodles and decided to get some REAL RAMEN. LOL I am more of a traditionalist with regard to sushi, ramen and pretty much everything Japanese. A lot sushi and ramen joints these days are more fusion and less traditional. Not necessarily a bad thing and in some ways has reached a broader audience. I write a lot of fusion recipes for my cookbooks and a lot of them are very popular. Afuri has taken the middle ground with innovation using traditional ingredients and techniques. To a large degree they have succeeded moving beyond the traditional shoyu, shio and tonkatsu broths to something different but still very traditional Japanese. I had the Yuzu Shoyu ramen and it was very good. I like that they use the different ramen noodles (straight, wavy, thin, thick) with different presentations. I learned a lot about ramen eating here. Now I have to write my own recipe. LOL It's a nice venue with a shared outdoor dining area. I sat at the bar and the bar staff are really nice, attentive and personable. Check it out.

Soni B.

Yelp
I got my ramen to go and it was good but not the best. I should have gone in to get the flavor and freshness. But overall it had a. Good amount of flavor. I think for the price you can find better.

Nancy H.

Yelp
My kid lived in Beaverton for a while, so she discovered AFURI while there and fell in love with the place. Even tho she now lives closer to downtown Portland, she still comes here for her ramen, and she recently brought me here. Now, if she were writing this review, she'd easily bestow 5 stars to the place. And I see that the vast majority of people love this place and give it 4-5 stars. So I know, right away, that my opinion is in the minority. We visited at lunchtime, on a Saturday (it was cool to check out the Beaverton farmer's market, a block away!). The forecast was for a high in the low 80's later in the day, and it was in the low to mid-70's at the time, but the AC was on SO HIGH in the restaurant and it was bloody freezing. I'm talking, uncomfortably cold. For me, verging on painful. (I was wearing a t-shirt, like most people that day). I asked the server if there was any way they could turn the AC down and she said no. (I thought perhaps it was just me but two tables away there was a couple and I saw the woman wrapping her arms around herself, trying to warm herself up. This, for the duration of our visit. So while most diners were probably comfortable, there were some of us who decidedly were NOT). It was so bad for me, my kid and I were on the verge of leaving, but I decided to stay, hoping the hot soup would warm me up. I immediately ordered a cup of hot green tea, and that helped a little. We started with the Kakuni pork bun, and I LOVED that! It was so good, and so flavorful, and the bun was perfectly hot and doughy and chewy and perfect! The filling was delicious. I got a kick out of the "AFURI" stamp into the bun's dough on top. Just a great little appetizer. My kid chose the pork ramen soup for us to share. I know everyone loves the ramen soup here, and for me, I DID like the seasoned broth and the noodles. But the pork was too fatty for me (the strips of meat had a broad fatty strip on them and perhaps that's what some people like, but it's not for me). the texture of the noodles was excellent, and the broth, flavorful, but for me, the pork was a turn-off, and I didn't really eat the soup at all. (More for my kid, so she was happy!). I see they have a ton of sake varieties and sake and whiskey flights, and I know most people would love these beverage options. I think I would try AFURI again, and get another bun, and choose a ramen without pork. Oh, and sit outside on a warm day. I'd probably then give this place 5 stars. It's clear this is a beloved place by most diners.

Cindy H.

Yelp
I have been looking forward to trying Afuri ever since they came to Beaverton. Loved just about everything about this izakaya! Their system for serving guests is seamless, resulting in very little wait for anything. Our server had a friendly and welcoming demeanor and a terrific haircut! She recommended a non-alcoholic beverage with coconut milk and melon that was gorgeous and refreshing. Everything was flavorful and well-prepared. Starters we had were the tsukune, a ground chicken ball formed around a skewer, and miso cashew dumplings. Tsukune was disappointing on terms of size (one on a skewer which could have easily been eaten in one bite) Dipping sauce tasted great with the meat: raw egg yolk in shoyu. A nice bite. Dumplings were excellent. I'd order that one again. I ordered the Asari Shoyu ramen, unique for its base of clam broth along with shoyu flavorings. It totally works! My only wish is for a lot more veggies. I couldn't actually see most of them as they were shaved so fine. Not satisfying. The broth made up for it. My friend ordered the Tonkatsu Tantanmen which had more of a milky miso broth. That looked more filling. She loved it. Too full for dessert but want to try the honey and ginger panna cotta! The wait was worth it. A terrific (but not cheap) meal at Afuri. Helpful tip: I wouldn't order the tsukune if you are sharing.

Tiffany D.

Yelp
First time trying dipping ramen and it was pretty good. It was also my first time trying anything with yuzu. The dipping broth had a light citrus-y flavor from the yuzu. The greens enhanced the citrus flavor too. The dish also came with caramelized pork belly which I thought was really salty. I asked my friends what they thought of their dishes since some also got dipping ramen while others got the ramen with broth and they all said it was really salty. After the meal, all of us were super thirsty. Also, there was an option to have the dipping ramen served cold or hot and I chose cold but neither my noodles nor dipping sauce were cold cold so not sure if it was served right or if cold just means room temp. Service was really nice and we got our food in a timely manner. Overall, I'd give this place a 3.5/5. While this dish was good, I wouldn't call it amazing... I like it because it tastes different from what is typically served at other ramen restaurants, but I think I like the traditional ramen from other restaurants more. P.s. you have to pay for parking if you park at their parking lot

Yaya S.

Yelp
bomb.com we remember them having some sushi options before, but i guess they no longer offer it. nonetheless, the food we ordered surely hit the spot! the only thing missing from the photos is the watermelon salad that was seasonal - since my photo my blurry and i was too eager to eat hehe service was great, really enjoyed it all! i love their space, just a shame that we arrived on the later side so they were closing off their outdoor patio. the weather was lovely! maybe next time!

Paul L.

Yelp
I loved the ramen here! The broth was unique, like a smooth, creamy texture. I highly recommend the tofu donuts w/yuzu curd - such an amazing dessert. The service was good, and the place looks great inside - love the atmosphere.

Rossa P.

Yelp
Every time I visit @Afuri I have a really great time with well made dishes and a friendly staff. One of the things I really like about Afuri is I taste all notes in their dishes. I think due to the freshness and high quality ingredients they don't need to cover with too much sauce on the food. -Wagyu Tartare($19) -Afuri roll($25) -Yuzu ramen ($15) You cannot go wrong at Afuri!

Danny L.

Yelp
Drinks: - I had the Afuri Yuzu Lager, it's very easy to drink. Typically if I see a yuzu beer, I'm going for it. The citrus notes are nice, kinda like a cross between a lemon and an orange to me Food: - I had the karaage with the egg salad, I thought it was okay. I personally didn't really like the karaage and egg combination, but hey it's fried chicken I'm gonna eat it regardless - I had the gobo robatayaki, the texture is satisfying, it has a nice crunch. Gobo root is a must for me. I highly encourage people to try it when they can. I think it's an underrated ingredient - I had the Hatsu chicken hearts robatayaki. For those who want to try chicken hearts but feel apprehensive, try it here first. I imagine it's gonna be hard to find higher quality chicken hearts than this Ambience: - Very bright and has a lot of natural light - The bar has a giant bamboo book shelf looking structure emitting warm light Overall: I like the robatayaki most here. I've had some of the other appetizers, nigiri, and rolls before but I think the robatayaki is the MVP

Sarah M.

Yelp
Everything on the menu here is delicious. My family and I love the atmosphere of this restaurant, hip and kid friendly, and we were quickly seated despite how busy they appeared to be. Our 3 year old will eat anything off of the menu as long as it isn't too spicy. The staff are incredibly kind and accommodating. You can tell they care about their customers. They are great with serving children. I love a good vegetarian ramen and theirs hits the spot - the hazelnut broth. When we lived in SF our go to was Mensho SF and this is a close contender.

Shannon S.

Yelp
Had the Don and it was delish Edamame has great seasoning. Hazelnut ramen is lovely. The yuzu fizz was boring and really tasted like yuzu bubbly water. Just wish they still had sushi. Service was good.

Jenna W.

Yelp
We ordered the Buta Gyoza and Sake Roll as appetizers and honestly I have had a lot of dumplings and salmon rolls in my life, and this competes for the best of the best. The house made ginger ale is also not to be missed. For the ramen, we ordered the spicy pork ramen, with egg and extra bok choy and extra mushroom. The base ramen is quite expensive for the amount of meat and vegetables included but hoy boy does the flavor pack a punch. It's definitely on the pricey side, so there are better budget options in town, but the quality is excellent.

Meyka K.

Yelp
The food was good but dont park next to there restaurant coz its a paid parking and the sign is very small so if you dont pay they will double the parking ticket. I got parking ticket via mail and paid $58. Just warning people that will eat here.

Kodi L.

Yelp
I wanted to like this ramen so badly but it made me feel sooo sick after eating it. When the ramen got cold, which i picked it up like warm, the broth solidifies. I heated it back up and ate it but because of how much fat was in the ramen and broth, I literally felt so sick after eating. Huge let down cause I really wanted to like it since everyone raves about it the other location. The pork bun was incredibly delicious though and I'd eat it every day if I could!

Jane W.

Yelp
Super friendly and helpful staff, quick and savory food with a nice, clean vibe. We sat on the patio and each got a drink and a main dish. The drinks came in less than a minute and the food came within 5. The food was flavorful, filling, and exactly what we were looking for. The gluten free ramen (tofu noodles) was really tasty though the waiter did warn there was contamination potential with the noodles being cooked near each other. We had a bunch of questions in the ramen, tea, and beer and the waiter had great insight into the full menu and gave us his suggestion and preferences - he was spot on for all his recommendations!

Pamela H.

Yelp
My daughter was the driving force behind our decision to try Afuri. She has Japanese heritage, loves ramen and dumplings, and was so excited for a fancy night out. However, she has severe food allergies. There were very few menu items that were safe, the one that was recommended stated "spicy" in the description - when I asked about the spice level before ordering it, we were told it was not. Even my spice loving husband said it was spicy. My daughter couldn't eat it. When we asked about safe noodles in a broth she could eat, they refused to do any substitutions. It's soup. I don't know what their basis for a blanket refusal is, but to offer no safe options and refuse to substitute is really exclusionary for people with dietary needs. We are very disappointed.

Yelp
this is the famous Japanese chain that made its way to Beaverville.. the Tonkotsu Shio I got was pretty tasty.. porky, garlicky, savory, richy (yes for richness).. nice liquid half egg, nice char to one big slice of cha shu, nice amount of scallions, ginger wasn't bad, noodles were thin, I would've preferred some bounce and a little more thickness.. but my bowl hit the spot Takoyaki was saucey and good but octopus was a little cold.. I guess that's the closest thing to sashimi you're going to get here now BUT, YES was disappointed that this location no longer has sushi.. because the one in Portland had really good sushi and that, is definitely underrated when it comes to a ramen restaurant like this as everyone wants ramen and doesn't think about trying their sushi Service was good Clean restrooms Busy already when it's only 5p on a Saturday

Yelp
I love everything that I ordered. My husband got tonkotsu tantan and Aburi koro chashu don. I got winged buta gyoza. For chashu don, I think the rice in the bowl is too little. Good atmosphere. Server was ok but she didn't come to check us.

Yelp
Although adjusted a bit from the original concept (no more sushi, for example), this is always a beautiful experience. Some might perceive it as fine dining but they have expressed they wanted to make it a little faster and casual. You will spend $20-25 PP after a beverage and maybe a dessert or izakaya selection. Service is somewhat standoffish but always present to lend a hand. One of the ways the restaurant changed was to place prewrapped bamboo chopsticks sets at tables along with menus and overabundant paper napkins. The cocktails and mocktails here are fun and worth a look over. I don't drink sake so I don't know if this selection is average or a standout special list. I like the traditional karaage and wish I knew their egg salad recipe! The "spicy" version feels more like a Panda Express orange chicken - still tasty but felt a little out of place. I tried a dipping noodle/ramen today and it was fun and tasty, a bit like a cold salad. I love that they use frisee, which is less common.

Yelp
**vegetarian review** I highly recommend Afuri for their ramen and the potato appetisers. But I'll break down rest of the review. Rolls - we got the 3 vegetarian rolls - avocado, umeshu and pickled daikon. All 3 rolls were very average - not bad but nothing you won't find anywhere else. We also got the vegetarian dumplings- some folks in my group loved the dumplings but another place where I thought they were kinda basic. The dumplings will not bring me back here I guess. We ordered this potato dish - I don't remember the name. This was delicious! I loved the sauce, and he potatoes, the mushrooms, the asparagus. We ordered it again half way through the meal. Finally the vegetarian ramen- this was quite good. Lots of veggies, and the broth was light and delicious. Another thing I would def order again. We got some garlic on the side which added more oomph to the flavour.

Yelp
I needed to gain back my appetite and the nasu don did it for me! The fried crispy eggplant with scallions and red ginger over rice, was not a huge portion which I loved! It's more quality versus quantity for me! And I also ordered a warm soup with dumplings in it, Donkatsu taki gyoza, the combination of the two dishes was exactly what I needed! Just a really good home cooked style Japanese food! I'm ready for my next meal!

Yelp
This place was great. The Tonkotsu Shio and Miso Cashew Dumplings were delicious. Can't wait to try it again.

Yelp
Had the tonkastu broth ramen. Was very delicious I loved loved the broth. I think I mostly ate the broth and my two soft boiled eggs XD. I found this place slightly expensive but I guess the flavor made up for it? I appreciated the thin noodles because I felt they were less filling. I'd recommend it if people are not to attune to pricing.

Yelp
Food - 3.5 Service - 5 Drinks - 3 Parking - 2 Price - $$$ One person will be between $30-50 without drinks. With drinks, you will spend $75+. If money is no object, the place is worth trying. If you want to get value, then plenty of better places in Beaverton. Ryoma and Kukai have better Ramen. Kukai has better appetizers. Shoten has better sushi. If you want to go to Portland, Shigezo is better for Robata. Yama for sushi and izakaya. Look how tiny the rolls are. At other places, I can get two normal size 8pc rolls for $25. Robota should be cheaper the more you order. Drinks are good, but overpriced and they put too much I've in their cocktails. I must have got 3 oz of drink. This place doesn't belong in Beaverton. It should be in the Pearl or Lake O.

Yelp
Food was amazing and our server was very kind. Overall a great experience. Would highly recommend the cheesecake for anyone trying this place out.

Yelp
Finally took the time to try this place out, especially at $5 a ramen for their anniversary! The ramen was a little salty for my liking, but portion sizes were large and definitely left me stuffed! Service was good, but the wait for a table was long (over 70 min wait). I would try it again during slower times of the day. The wait just wasn't worth it, especially with so many ramen options in Beaverton.

Yelp
We came on a Friday night, put our names on the waitlist (50min wait), walked around and were called back in 15mins, so that was a win! The atmosphere here is light and bright, very cute inside. The tables were closer than I would have liked but not a deal breaker. We started with shishito peppers which were good but a bit bland: 3/5 stars. My partner got the tonkotsu tantanmen (added egg and pork chashu) and the old fashioned. I got the asari with clams (added egg) and the yuzu cocktail. The cocktails were amazing: 5/5 stars. My partner said his ramen was just okay, the broth was bland and the chashu was a bit tough: 2.5/5 stars. My ramen was really savory and I enjoyed it all except for the chashu: 4/5 stars. All in all, it was a good date night ambiance, but a bit subpar for the price.

Yelp
We've long been customers or Afuri and have been to all the Portland locations and always enjoyed it. However, tonight's experience in Beaverton was extremely disappointing. Our waiter told us that no modifications to the menu were possible, no exceptions. Things as simple as putting a sauce on the side (karaage) or holding the mayo on the chicken tostada (see picture) - denied. The sauce and mayo are put on the plate or drizzled over the food - how difficult is it to omit those steps or put the sauces in a small dish on the side? I would understand if the sauce was pre-mixed with a vital ingredient, but this? Blatant disregard for customer preferences. Since I am the one paying, I will not be back. There are plenty of great Japanese restaurants in town that will gladly accommodate a customer. I'd give minus 5 starts for customer service if I could.
