Cava Owner Plots Family-Friendly Sports Restaurant | Eater New Orleans

"Planned as a family-friendly sports restaurant and bar set to open in July, Azul is Danny Millan’s new Lakeview venture designed as a destination for catching a Saints game with affordable, casual, family-friendly dining. Millan says Azul will offer more than the standard wings, burgers, and beer, including Cuban sandwiches, an “extensive” draft beer system, and wines by the glass that won’t cost more than seven bucks. The spot will be all new construction with its own parking lot on Harrison Avenue (on the opposite end from Millan’s Cava), and is intended to serve the growing number of young families who have moved into Lakeview since Hurricane Katrina." - Stephanie Carter

Low rating because charging someone $2 extra for 3 tortillas when the dish they ordered always comes with tortillas anywhere else is crazy work. Especially since tortillas cost pennies. Service was good and the food was good though. I probably would have made this a regular spot but that just put a bad taste in my mouth.

Stopped in today for a quick lunch with my wife. We used to eat and have margaritas here years ago when it was another establishment. We had no idea it was a different place. When we arrived, we were quickly met with the sounds of the restaurant. We were seated quickly. With our server immediately at our table with chip's and salsa requesting our drink order. I ordered a 32oz cerveza, which was cold and fresh. We placed our order, Speedy Gonzalez, and a Margarita dip. Both were brought out promptly and tasted very good. The food and service were great, which made for a pleasant lunch. Would definitely eat here again when I'm on this side of the river....

Our favorite spot close to home. The carnitas street tacos on taco Tuesday are becoming a weekly ritual for us. The margarita is also great (I recommend asking for it with top shelf tequila) and the porch is perfect on a nice day.

Always enjoy going here! Employees are super friendly and I have been going for about 20 years now. They treat me very well and they are like Family! Great Food, Beautiful deck outside. Keraoke on Saturdays, Big screen TVs! Full bar! GO! You'll love it. If you have any issues, just Talk to them. They will fix it!

The new owners of this establishment spared no expense in upgrading the decor with a fabulous array of hand painted murals. The service is outstanding and the food delicious. I had the vegetarian quesadillas which were stuffed with grilled peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms and melted cheese inside a grilled flour tortilla and served with beans and rice. They have excellent handicapped parking and are very reasonably priced with our bill for two at $23 before tip.

We decided to try out this restaurant for the first time. The food was awesome. The server. Todd was great. We definitely will be coming back the steak the shrimp and the chicken with the fajitas were so tender. A very nice clean atmosphere.,

Amazing food and our waiter was great. Food was hot and tasted excellent. Never had to wait for a drink refill or chase the waiter down for anything. He had a very friendly and helpful attitude and seemed to really enjoy being there. The whole staff was friendly.

Yelp
I visited the Agave Azul in Soddy Daisy with a group of my friends. I was the last person served and the server didn't bring what I ordered so I sent it back. The server returned in a several minutes with what was supposed to be what I ordered. I don't know if you have ever seen the movie WAITING but this was a scene directly from that movie. My food was contaminated by someone pouring over 1/2 cup of a watery liquid in my food. I guarantee the watery liquid wasn't queso! Not wanting to cause a big scene, I just left and told my wife to pay the check. This restaurant recently opened and I expect it will soon be out of business. I'm certain they will never receive my business ever again! Always remember this if you ever think of patronizing the Agave Azul in Soddy Daisy.

Yelp
Nice change from Las Margaritas. The menu is a little quirky, as in some quesadillas are served with a slice of tomato on top, and some with pico. My server thought the shrimp quesadilla was served with pico. Nope, tomato slice. In order to get pico, I was charged for a side, at $2.95. Seems high, but the rest of the items seem reasonably priced. My husband got the Arroz con Pollo, which was served in a bowl already mixed together. He thought it was great! Would have thought tortillas came with his dish, but we were charged for a side of them. Salsa verde is amazing and will get your head sweating. We also had the margarita (?) dip. Ground beef, beans, cheese, yummmmmmm. While we were there, between 1:30-2:45, lots of late lunchers were coming and going. Also, at least two Latino groups, which typically is high praise for whichever ethnic restaurant you've chosen, to have actually eating their native food there. All in all, great food, servers were friendly and attentive, and husband was happy.

Yelp
Horrible experience! Sat at the bar Bartender was not friendly felt rushed and pressured to order food. Flies all over the place one landed on my food . after getting my ticket I refused to pay for the food the fly landed in cause of course I didn't eat it.. I was then told we have signs stating we are not responsible if flies get in ur food. What? So you have flies ur aware and post a sign to make it better .. I will never come here again neither will I recommend and the food was 3/10. ordered margarita tasted no tequila had to order a shot on the side the shot was only thing worth paying for
