First, I’m from Houston so I have strong feelings about Mexican food. This is by far the best Mexican/TexMex I personally have found in Boston, so I’m giving it five stars—but admittedly I’m grading on a curve for Massachusetts. :)
The service is excellent, and the atmosphere is very cute. We ordered the queso dip, shrimp tacos, tacos al pastor, rice, refried beans, black beans, the house margarita, and a mezcalita. The queso dip, beans, rice, and tortillas were great and by far the best I’ve had in Boston. Everything else was solidly good but not great, but I look forward to coming back and trying other menu items.
The prices definitely reflect the location in Boston, in that if I told friends back home that I paid $20 for two tacos al pastor with beans and rice, they would die laughing. But major points that they give you the first round of chips & salsa for free! To me the cost was worth it to feel like I’m home for a meal. Will definitely be back!
