The World Champion Squirrel Cook Off Is an Arkansas Tradition | Eater
"A nature-centered venue operated by the state wildlife agency that hosts large, family-friendly outdoor gatherings and hands-on food events, including live music, competitions, and educational booths; since its 2023 move it has become the backdrop for celebrations that deliberately link culinary traditions to hunting and conservation while accommodating thousands of attendees and the logistical needs of outdoor cook-offs." - Jess Brent
We’ve lived in Springdale for 7yrs and last week was our FIRST TIME visiting the nature center. IM SO MAD WE TOOK SO LONG TO CHECK THIS PLACE OUT! I took my kids, my nieces and my nephews. They’re ranging in age from 14-20! And they all had fun! Super cool place, lots to look at and so much to learn! Only bummer part about our visit is that the archery center was closed. But we’ll definitely be back again!

This is a really awesome space. There is an indoor space that is mostly for kids to play and learn, yet is enjoyable to adults experience as well. I really enjoyed walking the outdoor trail, as well as the archery area is fantastic. The marksman center was not open during our visit, but hope to check it out again soon.

This is a really great place! It is nice and spacious and big! It was very peaceful and quiet perfect cold weather FREE activity to do! I do wish there were some more toys in the kids area that would be nice! The one in Barling has like this climbing tower indoors which is nice too!! That would be cool if you could get more toys. But overall it’s a really nice place I’d come back!

Beautifully designed nature center with free indoor nature museum, an indoor children’s play area as well as an outdoor nature themed playground. There is a large free outdoor archery range with fun targets, an indoor marksmanship center with Saturday free indoor range access, and an outdoor picnic pavilion with walking trails. Easy access from the Razorback Greenway by bike and I-49 by car.

Serene place to take children of all ages and it won’t cost you an arm and a leg. They have a room that a toddler could spend a good while coloring, playing with toys and reading books. You can visit the quails that are further down the property or even burn out some energy (weather permitting) on the tree trunk playground. Then go back in and cool off with the AC. Very enjoyable visit!

Very well maintained facility with gorgeous grounds available by walking trails. A scenic treasure of Arkansas. Near perfect conditions surely helped but this was one of the most enjoyable walks in a while and the welcome center has activities for almost all ages. Grab your radio because this is US-11951 a pota entity worth activating.
