Best Holiday Gifts in Los Angeles - Eater LA

"Tinned fish is still pretty hot, and the club works as a great gift for canned sardine aficionados. Pasadena’s Agnes will curate a box with three different fish tins, recipes, and accoutrements for $65 a month — a recent pack touted Matiz mussels in olive oil and vinegar, tuna pate, and sardines in escabeche." - Matthew Kang

Yelp
We celebrated my mother's bday at Agnes. She was greeted with a "happy birthday" and signed card from the staff...talk about feeling special and attention to details. The service was attentive, prompt and friendly. We sampled the half-half board, sourdough bread, a bottle of red wine, cocktails, the grilled wedge, and steak. Everything was quite delicious, the sourdough bread was served grilled with olive oil and a honey balsamic that was delicious. The grilled wedge was generous portion and the Maytag bleu cheese da bomb, the steak was cooked to chef's kiss perfection. Toward the end of our meal, the server brought a cupcake with a candle for the bday lady. The ambiance is relaxed, loved the open kitchen and attentive staff. We can't wait to go back to Agnes!!

Yelp
Great night out with girlfriends. We had a little bite of everything -- except dessert-- just extra wine instead! Highlights were the leek and spinach dip, charcuterie board (2+2) Lowlight-- the grilled wedge. Served really HOT which was just odd and too much bleu cheese-- pass on that one.

Yelp
Cute concept but not worth the price. I been to better wine and cheese places with better offerings and flexible to let you choose the cheese and meat. For $42 that is the smallest charcuterie board I seen. The wine selection was not bad tho. About 200% markup which is standard, Would not be back tho. The charcuterie board was super mid and not worth the price. The quality was not the best. Lunch time you order at the front and they bring to you. So service is average.

Yelp
Lots of plusses: upper end cheese and charcuterie market place, with many choices, including wine, tinned fish and accoutrements. Nice place to shop or order a gift basket. At 3 pm on a Saturday, they have a few tables in the front by the windows and seating at the bar. It is self order and they bring your order to the table. The menu is limited, especially for wine which they offer only a few choices which are unnamed except for "red, white, etc." We ordered a half and half cheese charcuterie plate for $42 (!) and a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. We also had a "red" and a "white" glass of wine. When the bartender brought the glasses of wine to the table, I asked what they were. He knew the white was a sauvignon blanc from New Zealand, and the red was a beaujolas from ?? From France, I suggested? Definitely not a wine expert. Ordering the food from the counter was a less than pleasant experience as the helper (she seemed to be running the front) did not crack a smile, nor was there anything friendly about her. She almost seemed irritated that she had to do her job. The server who brought the food was friendlier. The half and half plate was nice, with 2 cheeses, 2 meats and plenty of accoutrements. I think $42 though was very overpriced. The grilled cheese was good but the tomato soup was room temperature at best, and when we finally got someone's attention to ask, they told us it was supposed to be hot. They brought us a lovely cookie to cover the mistake which was nice. The ambience is lovely and the place has lots of potential, except for the very uneven service. The coarse representation at the front and throughout by the main server was off putting. Combined with the uneven food and the prices, I won't be back. Unfortunate. All you need is a smile and a welcome to get repeat customers, but there are too many other restaurants to try that will hopefully appreciate their customers more.

Yelp
It was my first time at Agnes restaurant and Cheesery and I loved it! The staff is great and the food was to d!e for. When you think of a sandwich you think, you can't go wrong with a sandwich, basic but still good but no! They managed to make something basic into something deliciously unique, it's a total elevated twist. Everything was fresh and crispy. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, definitely coming again.

Yelp
For my last nice meal of 2024, I visited Agnes Restaurant & Cheesery in Pasadena. It was a busy Monday night (Raclette Night!) during the holidays, so we waited over an hour despite being quoted 30 minutes. Thankfully, we knew what to order by the time we were seated. We started with the Raclette with Prosciutto--I had high hopes for tableside cheese scraping, but it came pre-scraped and got cold pretty quick, which was a letdown. The dish tasted fine with its tater tots, pickles, bread, and prosciutto, but I expected more. Babé Farms Lettuces were a surprise hit--simple but packed with flavor, thanks to the dates and vinaigrette. Seared Scallops were beautifully seared with light curry notes, fresh crisply cooked vegetables. We also got the Steak Vanessa was perfectly medium rare with a smoky, tender bite, the mushroom sauce was paired well with the steak. For dessert, we shared the Thai Banana Split--crispy fried banana with pandan and Thai tea ice creams. It was sweet but balanced out well. Overall, the food and attentive service made up for the wait, and I loved checking out the specialty items in their store. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
My sister chose Agnes for our post-Christmas brunch get-together. The atmosphere is warm and inviting -- just like the staff. We were greeted and seated as soon as we checked in for our reservations. Our server was wonderfully cheerful and patient as my family decided on their orders. We had several team members taking care of our table. Each one making sure we had everything we needed. We were never rushed as my family chatted away. The food was spectacular! Every dish was beautifully presented on lovely floral dishes and simply delicious. Our favorites were the Grits Carbonara and Apple Pie Churro. Portions were just right. Agnes easily earned a top spot on our brunch list. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
This is a cute restaurant in Pasadena, located next to crafts! It's easily missed as I've been on this street plenty of times but it has never caught my eye . Parking in Pasadena is never fun, but we did lark at a lot nearby that cost $2 for the first two hours My friends and I came here for a Friendsgiving. We made a reservation which required us to put a credit card down. We were only seated when more than half of the party arrived. They have a cute waiting area in the front. It also looked like a small market. We were seated outside in the back. They had plenty of lamp warmers so it was not cold at all For a party of 7 with one toddler, we ordered about 11 dishes. We shared everything and it was perfect. If you enjoy tapas style, this is it. With that being said, everything we ordered we enjoyed immensely . There was no wrong dish. Even their salad was a top 3 item. To my surprise, their grits dish was my absolute favorite. For sweets, we really enjoyed the toffee pancakes! And the salad (lettuce) was my third favorite item! It is a bit pricey but it was well worth the price! I would definitely come back!

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! The food is consistently fantastic, creative, and perfectly aligned with the seasons. The four of us came for dinner and started with the fried cheese curds, not knowing what to expect. They did not disappoint--definitely a must-order again if they're still on the menu next time. The pear and beet salad was a table favorite. Who would've thought the mix of hummus, pear, beets, and honey-glazed hazelnuts could be this good? The Lambburger Helper was hearty and the perfect carb-heavy dish to round out the meal. For proteins, we tried the scallops and steak. Both were delicious, though neither stood out as particularly extraordinary. The place was buzzing with energy, packed with diners as usual. While we enjoyed the overall vibe, the late '70s hard rock music felt a bit out of sync with the restaurant's atmosphere--but honestly, it wasn't a big deal.

Yelp
I finally tried Agnes Restaurant and Cheesery in Pasadena and it is such an adorable spot--I'm already counting the days until I can go back! The setup is casual but thoughtful: you place your order at the counter, get a number, and they bring your food to your table. It's the perfect mix of relaxed vibes and elevated dining. I'll admit, I committed the ultimate cheesery sin--I didn't order any cheese. But don't worry, what I did order totally made up for it! First, I tried the Cornbread Éclair with chicken liver pâté and cherries on top. This dish was a masterpiece--rich, savory, and balanced perfectly with the sweet and tart cherries. I'd go back just for this alone. Then came the highlight of the meal: the Babe Farms Lettuces Salad. OH. MY. GOODNESS. This salad was an experience--crisp greens, sweet dates, crunchy shaved almonds, a sprinkle of parmesan, a few mint leaves, and the most amazing mustard vinaigrette that tied everything together. Every bite was a flavor explosion. I was lucky to be on a solo date because I didn't have to share, and honestly, I wouldn't have. I'd have to fork-stab anyone who tried to take a bite of my salad! To round it out, I had a delicious chilled red wine, which was the perfect pairing for this magical meal. Agnes is a must-visit, whether you're flying solo or dining with friends. Next time, I'm definitely diving into their famous cheese dishes, but for now, I'll be dreaming about that salad (and maybe plotting my next trip to Pasadena).

Yelp
You can find parking on the street or nearby structures. They have both indoor and outdoor patio seating. We sat in the patio and had a nice vibe. Came for a party and we tried the cheeseboard, pears/beets, babe farms lettuce, hot fish, BLT and banana pudding. Everything tasted great but my favorites were the cheeseboard and babe farms lettuce salad. Service was great. Staff was friendly and attentive. Just a bit pricey and they have extra fees. It's a fun spot with great food tho.

Yelp
We've passed by this restaurant countless times and never really thought to try it until last night after a workout. Luckily we were seated right away without a reservation and even found street parking right across the street. We mainly came to try the cornbread eclair - a beautifully assembled piece of cornbread topped with chicken liver mousse with chives and luxardo cherry - but were also pleasantly surprised with everything we had ordered. We left no crumbs! We went with most of our server's recommendations - the cornbread eclair (x2), babe farms lettuces, lamburger helper, seared scallops, and banana pudding for dessert. For drinks, I tried one of their orange wines - the longavi - SO good and very easy to drink with a bit of a honey aftertaste. I already knew the cornbread eclair was going to be delicious. The mix of sweet and savory was perfect. I am a sucker for chicken liver pate/mousse anything AND I love corn bread! One complaint though, was that we were told by another server who dropped off our salad that the cornbread eclairs would be taken care of on the house as they were was a bit of a delay in making them (they were made to order). I thought this would have been communicated to our actual server, but we found the charges still on our bill at the end of our meal. I didn't bother mentioning it because we were happy with everything we ate. I just wish they hadn't mentioned it to us at all because it really didn't take that long to come out. Other than that, the amount we ordered for two people was perfect. Nothing was too heavy and everything was yummy! We'll definitely be back again soon.

Yelp
We visited as a party of six, and this place has a great vibe for relaxing and hanging out. The interior decor is beautiful and feels very festive for Christmas. We ordered a few dishes, and they typically recommend 8-9 dishes for a group of six, as most of the items are designed to be shared rather than eaten individually. The menu offers a mix of different cuisines with a fusion twist while still keeping it fairly Americanized. Some dishes were a bit salty for my taste, but overall, it was an interesting experience. The service was good, and I noticed they switch out your plate after the appetizer courses so you have a clean one for the main dishes. The first sections of the menu are mostly appetizers, while the final section focuses on mains, but again, almost everything is meant to be shared.

Yelp
* Price: between $12 to $50 per dishes, shared portions. They do add 20% service fee for group more than 6. 4 stars. * Ambiance: friendly, casual, chic. 5 stars. * Location: near old town Pasadena. Walking distance from most hotels in Psasadena. Street parking or paid parking garage. 5 stars. * Meals: variety of dishes for every palate, with cheese as one of their ingredients. Share portions. 4+ stars. * Service: pleasant. They did not have time limit on your dinning and did not rush us out of the restaurant. 5 stars. Came here with friends from out of town and suggesting by one of our friends. The restaurant is very spacious with our door patio. They also have a market area selling chocolates, cheeses and wine, very good for gifting. There are 7 adults, 1 teenager and a two- year old infant in our group. The menu is good for everyone (including the 2 year old)! Meals: - cornbread eclair ($18): chicken liver mousse, chives, cherry spread over cornbread. I'm happened to like patê ... others in our group did not. - Melted leek and spinach dip ($16): simple but tasty. - Pear/beets ($19): very refreshing, pear and beet salad with hazelnut hummus which is very well balance. Definitely recommend. - Babe farm lettuces ($18): everyone favorite. We ended up to order twice. Very refreshing. The mustard vinaigrette mixed with smoked almond and cheese is quite nice. - Lamburger helper ($26): we were not sure what to expected when ordering this dish. It is Lamb pasta dish. Nice surprise! - Grilled wedge ($18): grilled cabbage wedge with cherry tomatoes, blue cheese, scallion. It is probably my least favorite dish unless you like bitterness! - potato dumplings ($26): meh... would recommend to skip this! - Seared scallops ($32): scallops with curry creamed kale. Scallops are well cooked, very tender. - Pork chops ($62): very well seasoning and flavored. - We also tried desserts. Thai banana split, apple pie churro and s'more cocoa taco. I would skip dessert section. Nice ideas but everything is overwhelmingly too sweet!. Final verdict: we enjoyed our dinner here without burning a hole in wallet. Everyone in our group is full and happy with the meals. The atmosphere is also very nice. Not too loud for conversation and well spacing between tables. So, bring your family and your stretchy pants.

Yelp
I decided to revisit for a solo day of wine, reading, and comfort food at the bar, and I'm glad I did! The ambiance was lovely, and the bartenders were kind and attentive. The chicken parm sandwich (made without butter at my request) was absolutely delicious. Their chilled house red remains a favorite, and the Riesling was also a delightful choice. Definitely would return again.

Yelp
I'm so embarrassed to say that I've been working right around the corner of Agnes for years and never tried it before. After having an amazing lunch here yesterday I HAD to come back for dinner with my husband the same exact day. For lunch I had the Tommy Salame sandwich and it was everything I crave in a deli sandwich. The cheese and bread were impeccable. All the ingredients were fresh and so flavorful. Side note - the entire restaurant and cheesery is absolutely beautiful. So many cool things to buy and so fun to look at. So so many cool options. I will be stopping by more frequently. Now for dinner - every single item we tried was absolutely perfect. I loved their menu. Every single dish is so practical yet so unique. So easily written and perfectly described. The leek and spinach dip was so addicting!! The scallops were cooked to perfection and were put together beautifully. The salad was delicious too. Loved the ambience and service was great. Will definitely be back and tell everyone about Agnes. Not surprised at all that they've made it to Michelin - I can say that it's now my new favorite restaurant in Pasadena.

Yelp
Had lunch with my mom earlier today. My second time here after my first unpleasant experience. We walked in and again unfriendly and somewhat ignorant hostess greets us. She gets us a table and leaves. The customer service is still pretty bad in my opinion. The food was delicious. We ordered two sandwiches, the Cuban and the turkey BLT. We enjoyed them much. Maybe the Cuban more than the BLT.... I got a cold brew just to see if it tastes as horrible as the last time and it was ok. Not the best but not the worst either. I actually drunk it all with added milk. Overall a lovely place. Beautiful indoor and outdoor patio seating, visually pleasant all around. The cheese display and the wine display gets me everytime. Love the variety here. I myself have a small charcuterie business and really enjoy places like this. Where they serve good food and delicious cheese boards. Lovely place.

Yelp
I definitely did not expect this cute place in Green Street. Not only is it restaurant and bar, but I love that it has a cheese / deli with all the possible accouterments for an amazing board. The food are shareable. This was a great place for my friends and I because we were able to create our own mini buffet and enjoy many items. Tip - they will not sit you until your whole party gets there. Tip - make reservations. Only reason for not a 5 stars: I understand how reservations work. I will own that my whole party was not there on time, but majority of us were there. But at some point in our meal we were told that the table was reserved for the next party. We felt rushed to order but yet told to enjoy and take our time. We finished within 15 min of the said reservation time, but we were left confused as there were plenty of seats (both inside and out).

Yelp
To be honest, I only came to the bar before having dinner at another restaurant. The bartender was very helpful and quick to provide the drinks, the vesper was 10/10. I will definitely come back to try the food, but thanks to the bartender I had an excellent experience.

Yelp
On Small Business Saturday November 30,3024, this was a designated Welcome Station. First time to this great small business. The staff is very welcoming. For today's event, they provided free totes, enameled pins, hot spiced cider, and cookies. I knew this must be the place people know well because of the crowd of people waiting for them to open. I highly recommend this business.

Yelp
Agnes in Pasadena feels like you are walking into someone's comfortable family home and eating amongst a large group of people. The interior is very friendly and inviting. I love their patio on the front of the place and the back of the place. They also allow dogs on the patio area while you are eating. For sure I will have to come by with Sesame. Must get their salad it is amazing here and the scallops are on point. I have to say though it was a little bit slow for us to get our order received but that was ok since I was just chatting and catching up.

Yelp
Went with 6 people and the server suggested we share everything. We went on a Saturday night so it was busy in Old Town Pasadena. Parking about a block away at a nearby structure. The restaurant itself is large with high ceilings and really well appointed. The is a small deli/store near the front. Everything was delicious and they tried to serve the appetizers and salads first. The tater tots were great and had some spice, it didn't need the sauce. Ratatouille Remix was grilled zucchini mostly and was very good, but was't ratatouille, IMHO. The Fried Chicken with kimchi farro was the best of the protein courses with the Lamb French Dip coming in close. The cheese and charcuterie board was also very good and you can tell they put effort in their selection. Great wine selection as well. 5 stars

Yelp
We wandered in here for some wine and a snack after dinner nearby. The cheese board was delish and was perfect for the wines we ordered. The prices are good, and the service was quick, friendly, and attentive. The comfortable and cozy ambiance is perfect for a date....They also have a store in the front where you can purchase items to go. Overall we had a great experience, but we stopped by just for drinks so we didn't stay too long. I would definitely love to come back for dinner next time and try their other menu items.

Yelp
The food here is beyond great!! We love the ambiance and the wood fired grill adds a romantic vibe too. Their wine list is wonderful and they have a great selection of aperitifs as well. The staff are very friendly and attentive to making your experience a fantastic one! I highly recommend this restaurant. They also have a Cheesery and the selection of cheeses is ABSOLUTELY fantastic!! Great for gift shopping too. Lots of tin fish, oils, wine...I could go on and on.

Yelp
Food 5 Service 5 Vibe 5 Prices 5 Wow... if not for the parking, I would give this place higher. Love the clever menu. The wines are creative and priced well. Arrichoke dip, 1/2 &1/2 charcuterie board, eclair with pate, tater tots, pasta dishes, 2 bottles of wine, 3 desserts for 6 people. With 20% tip the bull was 440$. Everyone was happy. Great place for a group. Try it out. Bon appetit

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here on a whim during our spontaneous old town Pasadena date. Rain was just pouring down here in socal today in mid April, and I was getting slightly lightheaded, so we had to go find a place to sit down and eat quickly. Food: wow we started off with the toffee pancake, and it was so deliciously sweet with a little bit of tangy twist. And the bacon egg benedict blew me out of my seat, the egg was perfectly poached without the yolk being too runny, sauce was so very creamy and savory, bacon was super tender and sweet and salty, and the biscuit on the bottom soaked up all the flavors very nicely! We were thinking of light snack/food, but this ended up being pretty hefty heavy meal haha Price: oof a bit pricey, but well worth the dollars given that the food taste and quality are top notch. It came out to $60 for 2 dishes including tax and tip Ambiance: very hipster modern vibes, spacious with lots of seating inside, great for brunch when you're feeling basic teehee Service: great, everyone was friendly and attentive, they got us what we needed in a prompt manner, no issues here Parking: we parked in the public parking lot within old town Pasadena, it was only $1 for the first 2 hours, and lots of available spots on a rainy Sunday afternoon

Yelp
Nice place for lunch. My wife and I went out to lunch with our niece and nephew and thought that they would enjoy this spot. We shared a cheese and charcuterie plate, some tater tots, and the grilled banana bread. Everything was good, and the inside and patio were quite cute. The cheese plate had some pate and mild cheeses that were tasty, and probably enough for two people if that's all you wanted for lunch. I'd like to come back and try their brunch items. (I forgot to snap photos!)

Yelp
Came in with a group of coworkers: This will never be a first class restaurant cause Agnes' MO is in not wasting time engaging customers, as they see it's nonproductive. Service ( our server Charlie) provides rote and perfunctory explanations of the menu - curt & indifferent but courteous . A first rate establishment cares about warmth & hospitality. The mediocre service at Agnes would not fly in a major city , but it's in Pasadena, so sadly not a high priority to engage guests or make them feel special . The food is well executed , the decor is nice , but sadly the service falls short .

Yelp
My gf and I just spontaneously decided to give Agnes a go. And phew, are we glad we did so. From the outside it already looks like a hipster/quaint brunch type of restaurant. When you're inside it looks like a bar/market/bakery, but the dining and tables are all in the back where brick walls and old timey pictures set up the ambiance. Reservations are recommended but we got seated for two immediately. When it comes to brunch, we tend to split sweet and savory. Here's the kicker though: one of our dishes was sweet AND savory and the other one sweet AND tangy. So bonus points already. The sticky toffee pancakes came out first and yeah, it was nice, warm, and sticky. The pancakes are pancakes, but the toffee sauce and cream on top is what elevated the pancakes. It was just the right amount of sweetness with some tartness mixed into it. You could enjoy this without feeling guilty or sick after. The eggs benny (pork belly with cheddar biscuits) was the winner though. The pork belly was nice and juicy. The hollandaise sauce was rich, sweet, and creamy, it was unlike any I've ever had... you, you just need to try it yourself. The cheddar biscuit was amazing at not getting soggy and holding everything together while adding another layer of savory you didn't know you needed for an eggs benedict. Anyway, it was the best eggs benedict variant I've ever had. And after all of that, it doesn't burn a *huge* hole in your wallet but still is on the pricier side for brunch. Anyway, this place is pretty amazing and deserves a whole lot of attention.

Yelp
We have been coming to Agnes for quite some time! The food is always so delicious and the ambiance is so cozy but it's really the people who are so inviting that we keep going back! Yesterday we had the best T.A,B sandwich and sharing salad that was so yummy and yet felt light! While enjoying my meal I dropped my walker and the staff took extra steps to figure it out and find me! I am so grateful!!! I love you guys even more now!!!

Yelp
Our server was such a sweetheart! She was super patient with our large party. I loved the outdoor seating. Cuban melt was yummy and I loved the plantain chips Tried some of the hot dish which was soooo good. Crispy tater tots was also solid but how can you mess up tots? Had the goldfinch which was perfectly refreshing. Tried the apple of my chai; so delightful but more of a fall drink in my opinion Parking is typical Pasadena parking, find the those park and walk lots or street parking.

Yelp
This restaurant and shop is a great addition to Pasadena. If you are a cheese fan, the selection and variety here is great. The ambiance, service and decoration are all on point. The shop has a wonderful variety of smoked fish and seafood as well as a cheese case with some unusual choices. The cocktail list has some interesting options and the menu is one where you want to order everything. My favorite items was the cornbread eclair topped with chicken liver mousse and morelo cherries. It looks like a sweet treat but is so wonderfully savory. I also really enjoyed the curried cauliflower and Lamburger Helper pasta dish. The pineapple cobbler dessert was way too sweet for me, but the skillet presentation and delicious cherry ice cream topping really stood out. I would definitely return here to try other dishes.

Yelp
Agnes has been on my list forever and I finally got to try recently. There were some good and bad about the restaurants. To start off, the good: 1. Parking was great. I went on a Sunday and there was street parking available and there are lots around that is walking distance from the restaurant. 2. Service - Service was hit/miss. The servers were nice and provided me with things that I needed. 3. Food - On Sundays, there was a pre-fixe menu with 1 appetizer, 1 entree, and a dessert. They also allowed tables to just get 1 pre-fixe to share, which was nice. My favorite food was their Radiators in red sauce, curry spiced cauliflower, and green oak lettuce. 4. Ambience - The restaurant was super cute inside. Great for small and big groups. Then, the just OK: 1. Service - Although the servers were nice, the service itself was very clunky. There were large gaps of times between appetizer, entree and dessert. Also, the order in which the food came out did not make any sense. Also, they seemed pretty understaffed as there was only 1 server for the entire outside area. 2. Food - Although most of the food was good, there were a few misses for me. There was a shrimp dish from the pre-fixe (I wished I got the name) that was super fishy to me. And, their creamsicle dessert that came with the pre-fixe was also just OK (a little too sweet for me) 3. Price - Just as a heads up, it was pretty pricey. I know it's in Pasadena, but I thought the price was a little high for the food. All in all, the restaurant was cute, the food was good, and the service was good. I am not sure if this is the first place I would go to if I am in Pasadena, but can see myself coming back here.

Yelp
Every time my six year old and I walk into Agnes, we are greeted so joyfully by name. We aren't VIPs, and we aren't super big spenders. We enjoy having our Mommy-daughter nights at Agnes and everyone here makes my daughter feel so fancy and special each time. As a mom of three, I believe deeply that the best businesses are the ones that go out of their way to treat children with extraordinary courtesy, and even though Agnes could easily be just another snooty high-end spot, they are so family-friendly and so attentive to children. They even have a kids menu coloring page with crayons-- fine dining that still lets kids be kids!!! Unheard of, right?

Yelp
This place is our go-to family dinner spot. The ambiance is very inviting and the staff is very caring. Food is always good and consistent.

Yelp
I wanted to pop in and suggest that if you order this: Grilled Wedge-CHARRED CABBAGE, MAYTAG BLUE CHEESE, CHERRY TOMATOES, SCALLION, BACON CRUNCH that you ask that it not be cooked fully through because the one I was served was like mush. The only thing that made the dish edible were the rest of the ingredients but I didn't finish it.

Yelp
Buyer beware -Updating my review as we found that the credit card we used at Agnes - the following day was hacked and was being debited $25 per day that eventually went up to $100.28 as our notification was set at $100. We had not used this corp card in about 6 months prior. Bank is going to correct it but they traced from the last time we used the card it must had been lifted by an employee there since there was not activity on it for months before.

Yelp
Very cozy brunch place in Pasadena. The serving was huge! We could have easily shared their Pork Belly Benedict. I think serving it with biscuits made the benie super heavy. If they substituted it with hash browns it would have been much better! Creme Brulee French Toast with goat cheese was the bomb! Their market section was also so cool. I would definitely dine here again when I'm in town.

Yelp
I wanted a lighter dish and ordered the beets--phenomenal! The flavor profile was lovely and delicately satisfying. Great for a warm night on the outdoor patio. Good service and they accommodated splitting the check, always appreciated. The space is pretty and the food is yummy.

Yelp
The food was okay and quite frankly I would not return. The service was subpar, not engaging nor inviting which is unfortunate because I did like the ambience and I feel like this place has potential. I also do not like that they add a 4% service charge for health care benefits for their employees. You can ask to remove the charge but it's honestly off putting to ask customers to pay for your employees healthcare.

Yelp
Absolutely one of the best meals we have had in a while. My wife was actually trying Agnes for a business lunch that day and so right after work she's like we gotta go try their dinner. We were the first ones there before it opened and boy it was an amazing experience. We loved how beautiful then restaurant was and how clean and kind the staff were. The food was the star of the show we loved our appetizers and entrees. Super fresh ingredients and very unique take on a lot of the dishes. We loved the scallops, the leek/spinach dip, Korean fried chicken and the baby gems salad. Can't wait to come back with friends and family and try the rest of the menu. Overall amazing experience! They have great selection, wine selection and deli.Excellent sandwiches.

Yelp
Super cute restaurant. ! I love their salad and the cheeseboard. It's really nice inside and there's outside seating as well. Recommend making a reservation. They also have a shop in the front and I will definitely check that out next time. The portions were also bigger than I thought so we definitely over ordered but I had a lot of yummy leftovers to take home. I parked in the public parking garage.

Yelp
Love Agnes. Such a cute home style restaurant with fresh made to order meals. Came here for brunch and it was very intimate and empty, which is nice to get a full feel of the beautiful interiors. Upon entry they a small bodega with cheesery, wine store, cold drink case, cute little snacks and accessories. The bar area is beautiful and the dinning area is just as home style and modern. Ambiance and feel is comforting. The patio is fresh and homey as well. Open kitchen concept is the best and the service was very helpful and polite with lots of recommendations. The carrot cake muffin was delicious ! Be warned, it is crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. Serves with the option of jam, whipped butter, or crème cheese. You can choose all three ;) sticky toffee pancakes were such a pleasant surprise ! Bather is homemade and fresh, fluffy, and the toffee is not overbearing with sweetness - it's just right. The portion size is perfect for one or sharing. Pimento omelette is delicious !!!!!! If you like pimento cheese you will love this. The egg is nice and fluffy and the mixture of the cheese and pepper is just perfect. Hot Plate is also very good. It is mostly tater tots topped with cheese, guac, sour crème, guajillo purée, cilantro and a fried egg. Really yummy if you like a good savory note and tater tots. Highly recommend Agnes, such a cute date night or brunch spot ! Make a reservation in advance. Parking: there is street parking with pay meters and also a structure nearby.

Yelp
Cute little place in Pasadena. Tip for parking: there are two parking garages a block away. Park in the bigger one. It is well lit and There is plenty of parking. The smaller one is tricky. Parking is tight and can be challenging to maneuver in there if you have a big vehicle. The restaurant is a cute botique like setting. They have a shop where you can purchase some goodies for a charcuterie board. My friend and I met here on a Saturday night. We ordered some wine. Yum! They have a variety. Let your server know what you like and they will make some great recommendations. We also ordered bacon wrapped dates. They were delicious but overpriced considering you onlu get 2. The 3 cheese board was the star of the show. The cheeses were delicious! Excellent quality and comes woth crackers, corn nuts and all sorts of other goodies that compliment each other. It was all great and well worth the price. The toast we ordered was also pretty good. It was buttery and thick. We finished off with a chocolate taco. If you like chocolate, then you will love the chocolate taco. Definitely a fave here.

Yelp
Agnes has been on our list for a while and we're so glad we got to finally try it! This restaurant is ALSO a cheesery and features a menu that's meant to be shared with the table. Do yourself a favor though and order multiple Cornbread Eclairs (chicken liver mousse, chives, & luxardo cherry) because they're dangerously good and you probably won't want to share it lol We also ordered the Tinned Fish of the Day (crackers, seasonal pickles, & country mustard) which was Mackerel Fillets in EVOO. It paired so well with the kimchi and mustard! We did come in 15 min before dinner service and were told we couldn't be sat outside until it started. Not sure if this was normal but we ended up waiting quite a bit before having to remind to hostess we were still waiting for a table.

Yelp
Check this place out! I can't say enough how great this place was! From the front store to the indoor/outdoor dining. Open kitchen concept and tables that felt like home couches! The food, ambiance and service was fantastic! I really enjoyed the sourdough, chicken liver cornbread, chicken picatta, scallops and strawberry rhubarb cake. Easy street or garage parking, use inkind for $50 off 150. They also offer 3 course meal for Sunday supper.
