I have mixed feelings about writing this review because, physically, The Collective DC is a fantastic property. I have to give credit where it is due: the amenities are top-tier, and the maintenance/cleaning crews do an incredible job keeping the common areas spotless. It truly has the potential to be a premier luxury living experience.
However, the experience of actually living here is ruined by the management team.
Once you sign your lease, the communication stops. Emails regarding leasing questions or concerns routinely go unanswered for weeks, and trying to get a hold of someone in the office who can actually make a decision is a constant struggle.
Furthermore, management refuses to enforce the community rules. Terms outlined in the lease regarding resident conduct and community standards are treated as suggestions rather than rules. Management is passive, often ignoring repeat violations or just sending out generic mass emails that solve nothing.
It is frustrating to pay premium rent for a "luxury" building where the administration is this unresponsive. The cleaning staff and the building itself deserve 5 stars, but the management brings the experience down significantly. I cannot recommend moving here until the administration changes its approach.
