Agua Verde

I ordered a tostada de ceviche de pescado to go. It was a bit over $11 dollars. Although I'm well aware that it's fish, this tasted way too fishy like it was old product and a god majority of it was nothing but grated carrots as you can see in the pic. This tostada shouldn't be worth more than $6 tops given the lack of flavor and poor quality. Also, the waitress that took my order seemed annoyed that my order was to go. Only good thing was it had chips and salsa on the side. Overall, pretty disappointing and not worth going back.

Celebrated my cousins birthday on Thursday night. It was about 30 or more. They accommodated us and service was great. We were one of the first there and the ladies right away offered drinks and brought chips & salsa. Once everyone was there they took food orders. The food came out in a timely manner. It was nice and hot. I ordered the fish, shrimp and octopus soup, I love it. It wasn't just a hot bowl of water. It had plenty of seafood. A side of rice would have been perfect, but was okay with out. Everyone was happy and they even cut and served the cake. Great party & service. Will definitely return even though I live in Long Beach.

They have 2 very dismissive waitresses, they charge more for substitutions (ex: me and my fiance usually get the agua chile with no onions extra cucumber, today we got charged extra for it for a dollar the proportions for the agua chiles are also very pricey for the small amount 25.51) the place looks fine nothing special… they do have a claw machine, it doesn’t work. If you want some really good agua chiles go to TACO LOCO they also sell them for less

The fajitas were awesome. Nice atmosphere. Good customer service. Prices reasonable.

To start we got a tostada camaron cosido en agaua with chips and crackers. Our waitress was polite and very professional. I ordered The carne asada chilakiles plate it was delicious the meat was nice and tender very easy to cut and perfect soft. my friend she ordered a carne asada plate her meat was very well soft and tender. The rice and beans were good well prepared their red slasa you see in that wight cap bottle was the most authentic SALSA PICOSA DE CHILDE DE ARBOL that i habe tasted anywhere. I recommend this place to any seafood lover and a fan of well served plates 😋.

Lots of choices for tacos on this street but this place had alot of parking and a very helpful staff. Covid made is so we had to eat on car but food was good!

Great Mexican food! I ordered carne asada tostadas (Pictured) which was a great portion and an horchata rice drink (authentic taste) Good prices too! Homey atmosphere with hanging plants, make it a nice, chill and relaxed environment. I saw a lot of good seafood options as well. I took home a Flan de queso, which is a must try.

Not good. The salsa w chips was bad. This was the first sign. Rice is not Mexican rice and tastes like it uses flavor packets. Lots of cheese. Only the mariscos is decent.

This is a local restaurant that you MUST try. It's primarily seafood but they do have some other options. The food is delicious! Their alcoholic beverages are so good, too! Service is for the most part good, but keep in mind that they do get busy on the weekends. Staff is overall friendly. They have music playing and television screens. They will put on sports game if you ask!

I'm going to give them 3 stars just because their rice and chile relleno burrito are top tier. But their seafood has significantly declined since covid - no longer that delicious, fresh quality. My mom, for whatever reason, is still a loyal customer. She is disabled and still walks all the way over there around once a week because she loves having handmade tortillas. On multiple occasions, they have forgotten something, and she lets it slide. Yesterday they forgot the one thing she goes for, the tortillas. She walked all the way back and asked if they were going to give her something for the inconvenience- the manager, that used to be a waitress and always had a bad attitude, told her no. Not even a refund for the $1 tortillas.

Came here with the kids (10 and 12 yrs old) to try something new. The service was attentive and friendly. We ordered the shrimp ceviche, chile relleno, and chicken enchiladas. All were delicious! The only thing that would have made it better was if the Dodgers won that night (game was on TV). Will come again!

Was looking to eat something that tasted home made and this was it plus the Agua mineral preparada was super refreshing . The servers are super friendly and attentive food arrived pretty quick too My new favorite go to place

My to go to is always the 7mares caldo!!! It's great just a lil pricey, has definitely gone up several dollars in less than a year! Very unfortunate!

Ceviche de camarón is , agua de orchata is Wish the actual food was cooked with more love!!! To me the rest of the plates are really plain like if it was cooked at home. So the ceviche is what I always go and get that is done right!

So I'm working the Wilmington/San Pedro area today and we're ready for lunch right now. Found this place on Yelp. It has a 4 star rating, so it should have decent food here. So this place looks like your average Mexican family restsurant. The exterior and interior was OK, looked a little outdated, could of used a makeover job, but was clean. Waitresses were really nice, friendly and attentive, so no problems there. Chips & salsa were really good, chips were fresh and crispy, and not greasy, salsa tasted great, had a little heat to it. Ordered the mix fajita plate, came with beef, chicken and shrimp, and with a mixture of bell peppers, onion and tomatoes. Instead of the traditional sliced chicken or beef, this one served was more like a Chinese stir fry. Didn't look like a traditional fajita, but tasted good, above average. A big plus was the home made corn tortillas. So all in all, a pretty decent place to eat. I would come back, if I'm ever working in this area again. 4 stars from me.

Today was a good day for something light and delicious, I decided to stop by aguas calientes with my mother. Walking in I noticed only a few patrons, there was a lot of open tables so we sat near the window. The waitress brought over some chips and salsa, salsa was bland and boring. I ordered a shrimp burrito that was not on the menu and my mom ordered a grilled fish plate. The $20.00 burrito was all rice, some beans, tomato pieces and a few shrimp. My mom's plate also consisted of the same exact rice and beans and a small size fish, they threw some dehydrated inedible slices of carrots and lettuce. It's hard to tell if they are decorations or a side salad. I had a cup of water and she had an horchata that was too sweet and had to dilute with water. Overall it was a real disappointment, if you want a delicious decent burrito you will not find it here. Unbelievable $20.00 for a small rice, bean and shrimp burrito!! Will NOT be recommending this place to anyone I know.

My family and I were driving by and saw this cute little place was offering outdoor dining and we thought we should give it a try. They had coverings to shade the tables. Servers were very friendly. They had their masks on due to Covid, and had the tables socially distanced. They gave us our chips and salsa, with our menus. They came and asked us what we wanted but once we got our food we really didn't see them again. The table salsa was just ok. It kind of tasted like a tomato soup with a bite. The plates were 11 bucks and up. The kids menu items were 7 bucks. I felt that was very reasonable. My youngest got her cheeseburger & papitas, my other daughter ordered fajitas mixtas & the rest of us got the chilé relleno burritos with green sauce. The meals for the four of cost $51. Which I feel is very reasonable price for what we got. The fajitas was a mixture of steak and shrimp with bell peppers and it came with you choice of flour or corn tortillas along with beans and rice. Our chilé relleno burritos were stuffed with this chicken broth rice, refried beans and of course the chilé relleno. The burrito was creamy with cheese and it was very flavorful. The green sauce on top was good just a little more lemon than I am used to but very flavorful. This place is definitely a cute spot to try out. It's better for a date night and if your looking for seafood. They offer seafood plates for $40 for 2 people. It's also cutely put together so you don't feel like you are just sitting in a parking lot eating food!

My family and I went to eat here and it was just bad food. I ordered the enchiladas, my dad the shrimp fajitas and my sister something with shrimp and fries. Everything just tasted so bland. The beans just seemed like canned refried beans, the rice didn't taste like anything and was kinda hard, the chicken in my enchiladas just tasted like plain tortilla and the chicken was literally just boiled and that's it . We also got tamarindo and horchata to drink and the drinks were way too sweet. I typically like sweet too I have the biggest sweet tooth but this was way too much I can't imagine how much sugar is put in it. My dad barely ate his food and typically when we don't finish our food we just take it and I asked if we are gonna take our left overs and we just didn't because it was just bad.

Came here yesterday for a birthday dinner and left with zero desire to return. I ordered the beef fajitas which were unseasoned/flavorless and tough with fat. The rice and beans are also flavorless and needed salt - which speaks volumes as I NEVER salt anything dish, anytime anywhere. My girlfriend ordered the grilled tilapia and that was also very unseasoned/flavorless. Whoever oversees how these dishes are prepared needs to overhaul the recipes or something because flavorless dishes at a Mexican restaurant is unacceptable. Seasoning is the soul fo Mexican food.

I have always wanted to try this place for many years since I live in Wilmington. I have always heard good things about Agua Verde so me and my family took a chance. I've got one word for this place in Spanish and that word is "Wakala!!" (translated in English to mean something really nasty or gross). I ordered the fajitas mixta (it's fajitas with steak, chicken and shrimp) sounds good. My wife ordered a shrimp cocktail and in addition it also comes with scallops, octopus and fish. My oldest son had a kids meal. The service was nice at first but died after the initial help of one drink per person and no follow up when the food came. My fajitas were terrible, the shrimp was old! It tasted like spoiled rotten shrimp with a nasty taste. There was hardly any chicken or steak. The rice and beans were okay and the chips too but the fajitas come with no dress up like salsa or sour cream or guacamole. I did order the guacamole on the side which our waitress told us would be only $3.70. In the end they charged me $4.99 for a tiny bowl of guac. My wife's cocktail had the same nasty shrimp and she said it had almost no flavor at all, it was like basic tomatoe juice with water with very little tomatoes juice. The color of the cocktail juice was almost white and no matter how you added lemon, salt or tapatio there was nothing to redeem the horrible quality of the cocktail. My oldest sons meal was also gross, it only comes with two tiny little shrimp for $6.99. I don't know how they chalk that up as something worth 7 bucks, but maybe it was the rice and beans that are high quality. I will give this place one star because the place was clean and so was the bathrooms. But the service was really weak and the prices of the food was too high for the extremely poor quality. So for a cocktail and a very small portion plate of fajitas and a kids plate of two shrimp and one michelada (beer with chili and lemon and tomato juice) oh and the $5 guacamole it costed $59!! Man it was so bad! . I felt so terrible paying any money to this establishment for the food I ate. I felt bamboozled, I will not be back.

Food was fantastic! I had the grilled lobster plate with rice, beans, and flour tortillas. It's the closet you can get to Puerto Nuevo with crossing the border.

We saw the charming decor of this place while hungrily driving down the PCH and quickly did a U-Turn. Cute paintings and decor inside and out. Super friendly staff in cute outfits. Very authentic Mexican food. Awesome fish and shrimp tacos. Fresh seafood, tortillas, chips, salsa, menudo (trite) on the weekend. Don't miss the flan! Comes in cheese, butterscotch, and coconut. Not inexpensive but Good service and fresh fish tacos in an authentic setting.

We went to our once favorite Mexican restaurant in Wilmington. We ordered two burritos, one chopped beef one chili rellino we ordered salad too. We also had one extra sour cream. The salad is iceburg lettuce with a few pieces of cabbage and about half a raddish. The burritos came out nice and big. Upon opening the beef, we found it was 90% rice, maybe a teaspoon of beans and no more than an ounce of beef. I didn't order a rice burrito. I ordered shredded beef. The chili rellino was stuffef with so much cheese it would run out on my plate. Great for cheese lovers. The shock was the bill. It was 39.00 which was the burritos, salad and one side of creama. We had water to drink. We left a tip that brought it to 47.00. That is greed. Pure greed on the owners part. Our once loved has changed. Greed took over. I live in Long Beach and my neighborhood restaurant serves far better for half. We won't be going back. The last few times has been the same. We are done!

I'm giving this a one star cause I cant give them zero. This place is extremely ripped off. I paid 15 bucks for this tiny ass cup of microscopic shrimp. It has no flavor and its small af. This is supposed to be a large cup??? Nop no no no if it tasted good I wouldnt complain but it tastes like straight up water.

This is my favorite mariscos spot! EVERYTHING I order is 5/5 stars. They start you off with such a flavorful chips and salsa. My go to order is the green agua chile as the appetizer and a mixed seafood platter. (Comes with Lobster you Can dip in butter, crab! Samples of their variety of shrimps, Rice, beans, and a fish filet. And of course can't forget the wine margarita. Trust me, go try this place.

NEVER AGAIN !!!!! Ate oysters here about 3 days ago and I been sick every since vomiting, diarrhea and fever plus they've gotten pricey

Cute place, staff is really nice. Ordered the shrimp ceviche to go, the salsa it came with was really good. They have outdoor dining available too. Will have to come back to try more dishes!

Love this joint! Great food and friendly service. Female servers had the cute yellowish green tops with traditional Mexican embroidery. Love it! Everything was good but I especially liked the fresh oysters and the shrimp burrito! Shrimp burrito was so flavorful. Shrimp cocktail had lots of shrimp in it. Will be back next time I'm in the area.

Great friendly service and okay ambiance. The value is very good for what we got. My chili verde burrito was huge for $7 with free chips and salsa. Our younger waitress who couldn't speak much English was the nicest waitress around. Would come back just for her friendly service. My Mom's chili rellenos were a little too salty and too much batter. My burrito was great.

This is a hidden gem... the food has so much flavor! The rice and beans taste authentic. On the weekends they have freshly cooked tortillas and don't get me started on the micheladas! My go to place! Best micheladas I've tried so far! We've been coming here for years and the waiters are so sweet. Definitely supported this place during covid closure and will continue to come here!

I absolutely love this restaurant! I've been coming here for almost 2 years now, and the customer service is always amazing. The waitresses are always friendly and happy to help. The food is always delicious and it's also a plus that they have handmade tortillas! During this whole COVID thing, they are very clean and have outdoor seating. The employees have face masks and the head gear to have their faces covered, I felt very comfortable and safe. I will continue to support this business. I can't wait until everything is back to normal to go back to eat inside again.

Kids and I were on a hunt for a delicious meal, and came across this gem. We chose pick-up. Everything was so yummy, and the meals were ready when they said they would be. I just wish they would gave us the option to ask for utensils and napkins or just included them in the orders. Other than that, 5 stars all the way

This Location is not social distancing at all. All the next table is literally 2 feet away because they were trying to fit 8 tables in a single shade. We requested to have another seat and was willing to wait they refuse to sit us there because it was a party of 4 table but we were a party of 2. However there was plenty of of party of 2 being seated in party of 6 tables.

Shrimp burrito- wet with Red and green sauce is definitely a good star. I usually telephone my order because it takes 15-20 min to prepare. You will not be disappointed. If you like spicy then as for the spicy hot sauce on the side. WARNING.. it's hot as heck.. Portions excellent Flavor outstanding Service great Restaurant clean Good parking

Just moved to Wilmington so I wanted a good Mexican restaurant to eat with the hubby. After yelping Mexican food this 4 star restaurant came up, saw some pictures and said I'll try it. Let me tell you about the likes and dislikes Likes The food was ok nothing to rave about though Dislike Very old setting No music playing Long wait for food There are a ton of waitress everywhere My food got taken before I could finish lol And the Margarita was like a frozen slushy Expensive for the quality of food and atmosphere Definitely won't be back :)

I've been going here for years we went in with my family of 6 took them over 45 minutes to bring out our food after ordering when it was finally there my sons order was wrong his food came literally when we were done eating also half of us did not get our tortillas I also have to say they do not know what a zarandeado is I literally got a flavorless mojarra what a shame that one of the very few marisco restaurants in the area has downgraded so much.

I love this place. Their ceviche de Cameron and the tostada de pulpo is freaking delicious. Their micheladas are perfect as well. I come here often. I'm pretty picky with my seafood seeing as how I worked with it for so long, but this place does it for me. I don't need to travel all the way to San Diego to fill a craving.

Bad service waited to get seated then waited 30mins for our waitress but the lady picking up dirty dishes asked us twice if we were attended, we said no so she kind enough to bring us chips and salsa (which were stale) because our waitress was no where to be seen. We tried to give the waitress a chance but as soon as two men arrived she went straight to get their drink orders and take they're food order(desperate much?). So then we got up and she saw us she asked if we were ready to order food.... we haven't even gotten our drinks because she was to busy throwing herself at the two guys! So we told her we're leaving because we waited to long and she had the audacity to give us stank face.we asked for the manager and she told us the manager left for the night. We wanted to try out a new location but NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN! los tres cochinitos will always be our go to restaurant better service and amazing food plus the waitress weren't surprised we came from there I guess that's how bad it is at mariscos agua verde. Disappointed.

Introduced my very English husband to what real tacos and burritos taste like! This place did not disappoint at all. The portions are enormous and very fresh! I wish we lived much closer than we do, just for the real Mexican food and ambiance. He also was enchanted with the soft-toy claw machine. We can't get enough of them. I always have to keep a roll of quarters on me in case we run into one.

Finally found a great seafood place in the southbay area. Fresh seafood, with good taste and friendly service. Oysters are fresh, aguachiles are delicious and fish tacos amazing. Definitely coming back.

The food here is really good. The only thing I disliked is the service waitress left us unattended for a good 30 minutes our kids received there food and we did 35 min after them. She would pass us a couple times then she finally acknowledged us but just to let us know another waitress will be taking over. No one ever did! Think the need customer service lessons.

Went into this restaurant because I was craving some seafood. As soon as We walked in the restaurant I saw the bad expectation that was expected. We waited in the front door to be seated for more than 5 minutes , till finally a very Rude girl came out from the kitchen and not even greeting us or apologizing for taking so long for us to get seated. Then she said from far come to this side and sit down. After she left for a while and finally brought us chips and salsa, took our drink order and told her we wanted some water with lemon to start. She said they only had bottle water. My daughter order a fountain refillable drink and she came out with a bottle coke. She never said that the fountain machine was broken. After we ordered our food it took more than 30 minutes to finally get our food but the waiter never came to our table and gave some kind of attention to us or to let us know the food was taking that long. I could only remember her telling us once from far if everything was ok? but that was it! 20 minutes later I guess her shift was over but never came to let us know that she would be leaving and that someone else will take over her tables. Very bad waiter service. Honestly the food is not what I expected . The quantity and quality is very low to their high prices. And to top it up I ended up with an upset stomach and diarrhea!!

Ok so this place is kind of a hit or miss. With the exception of the aguachiles, agua mineral preparada (mineral water with salt & lime) & the rice. Those things are always on point. Everything else is pretty much a guessing game. Oh & try and avoid dining towards the end of the restaurant, it always smells like a sewer (not a good look for a restaurant)

Review is based on the shrimp cocktail only. From previous reviews, I recommend this place for my brother who had a taste for good/decent cocktail. Super disappointed! His order (to go) was placed in a soda cup, counted 3-4 shrimps and was soupy. Do not order the shrimp cocktail.

Stopped by after picking up some tile and asking locals for a good lead on Mexican food in the area. Very friendly atmosphere good for families, and solo diners. We ordered Machaca with egg and Carne Asada Burrito. The Machaca was very good with mixed green peppers and onions. The pina colada tasted wonderful, but could have contained a little more alcohol. We will certainly return next time driving by on Pacific Coast Highway.

Struck by a serious craving for some spicy chilaquiles me and my better half ended up at Agua Verde trying to scratch that itch. Unfortunately the chilaquiles were a let down. Not spicy at all and quite frankly pretty bland. The Mojarra we ordered up to share on the other hand was pretty tasty and the several Tv's around the restaurant were tuned in to the NFL game that was on so that was a plus. The service on the other hand was yet again another negative. Coffee refills were far and few between and when it came time to pay the check we literally had to flag down a waitress that wasn't even servicing our table. Ive had better and I've had worse but a return visit might be about as rare as a refill in this joint.

Me and my wife eat here regularly and this place never disappoints. The food is always fresh and they have the best micheladas. All the waitresses are attentive and welcoming so that's another reason we dine here so much. Always a great experience.

Fajitas mixtas and burrito de chile verde are my favorite. One of my to go to places for good mexican food in wilmington.

This place is horrible. Here's a few reasons why: 1. Bad service: All the waitresses seemed very distracted especially the one we had because she did not make eye contact at all when she took our orders as well as when she put our food on our table. 2. Smell: We sat by the register and I think I smelled the restroom. 3. Food: mediocre mexican food. Never coming back here again!

I have been coming to this restaurant for over 5 years now. I used to live in the area but now I travel about 1 hour and 20 minutes away just to have my favorite, aguachiles. I have had both the green ones (borrachos) and the red ones. I prefer the green ones as they have the most amazing flavor. I would highly recommend this place if you like Mexican style seafood dishes. Excellent!!!! Mouth is watering just thinking of it!! :)

I Was so upset today everything went wrong The waitress was not paying attention kind of ignoring me. But when I got the food and taste it that did it it didnt taste and did not look like mexican food i eat some and walked out told my wife you pay for it. I use to go there like every month last years was still good I loved it. but not any more you check your food next time you are there Its really really sad.

Zero stars if i could! Ceviche de pescado ...disgusting! Tastes /smells like old fish!

Ordered: Mojo de ajo fish filet ceviche bacon wrapped shrimp carne asada Comments: Everything ordered was AMAZING! Started out good with chips and salsa. The salsa has good flavor and the chips are freshly made. The ceviche is so fresh and tastes great with the chips. The mojo de ajo had me licking the plate it was so good. The rice was cooked perfectly and the beans matched impeccably with the entire dish. The bacon wrapped shrimp is salty and great with the rice and beans as well. No complaints here about the carne asada either. Bottom line: We will definitely return!

THE BESTEST BEAN & CHEESE BURRITOS on earth! Service has gotten better and I'll continue to come just for those burritos! Their carne asada tacos are pretty good & their Fish ceviche (Hmmm I think it's tuna but it's still amazing lol)
