20 Best Taiwanese Restaurants in Los Angeles - Eater LA

"Everyone comes into Ahgoo’s Kitchen for chef Thomas Yeh’s green onion sesame pie — it’s crisp on the outside, pillowy within, and bursting with scallion flavor. The battered and seaweed-flecked fish is terrific too, along with any protein prepared in Yeh’s three flavor sauce." - Cathy Chaplin

Google
Tried the most recommended two items, the sesame green onion thick bread/pancake and the Chinese spinach fish dice soup, for almost $40. It's fine but overrated. With that price, the bread deserved a pizza box instead of a styrofoam container. BTW, the website in the Google map is totally wrong. This place does not sell fried chicken nor any American food. I wouldn't call the thick pan fried bread a pizza. This is a Taiwanese restaurant. P.S. customers were smoking right outside of the restaurant and the door was wide open. Not the restaurant fault, but the chance of revising will be low because of that.

Google
New ownership, now serving traditional Taiwanese cuisine. The items on the menu is on the pricey side, but the food is good. Had basil fish slice rice and red yeast pork rice. Both were tasty, though the pork was too fatty for my taste. During grand opening, the minced pork rice is offered at $1 per bowl instead of the regular price of $4.95. The interior wall can use some decoration.

Hours are limited here but the food is truly exceptional. The beef roll is to die for, massive six slices of flaky scallion pancake wrapped around succulent slices of braised beef shank. Highly recommend

Love their to-go dishes: green onion bread, salty egg pumpkins and sour-n-spicy soup. Yummy😋😋😋 Enjoyed their delicious home style dishes! Their infamous green onion bread is the best & it takes about 20 minutes to bake so you need to order as soon as you get your table!

Google
Love the large scallion bread and tofu fish, both took a while to make so order early. Other dishes we tried were all pretty good, too. Parking is a little problematic since they don’t have a parking lot, the best bet is to find street parking.

Google
Taiwanese style. Sesame Pizza is their signature item. Personally I like the Hot and Sour Soup. The combination of white pepper and vinegar is just right. Good match with the sesame Pizza.

Hours as of June 2024: Monday-Tuesday: Closed Wednesday-Sunday: 11AM-2:30PM; 5:00PM-7:30PM (I'm still mind blown that they're only open 2.5 hours for dinner 😂) Parking: I think they have a small lot in the back, can't be entirely sure it' public parking or not since we ended up parking on the street. Personally, I liked everything we ordered, it's very homey-- just very expensive. Everything is like $17+ a food dish ($13-$17 for soup). Their popular sesame green onion bread is AMAZING. There's so much green onion in it, it makes the flavor so aromatic and delicious. I also loved their bean curd strips with pork, would eat this all day if I could. The mapo tofu is solid, but it wasn't spicy enough for my partner though. Their shredded potato was a bit too vinegary for me, but texture was perfect. The wait staff was there whenever we needed them, and never quite bothered us too often and they were very nice. This place is definitely worth a try, even if just to order their sesame green onion bread.

Worst service. Always understaffed. But pretend that it’s not a normal occurance. 3 dishes can take 1 hour to get out.

Yelp
Ahgoo" in Taiwanese Chinese means "maternal uncle," referring to your mother's brother.  Origin: This term is commonly used in Taiwanese Hokkien, a Southern Chinese dialect widely spoken in Taiwan Ahgoo's. Kitchen in Temple City is on Las Tunas and unlike Glendora's fast food lined streets has a nice selection of small unique eateries. My sister's favorite is the "Beef Wrap" elaborately made with thinly sliced beef, rolled in a beautifully browned crust with a sprinkle of sesame seeds on top with a slight taste of sweetness mixed with spices. Somehow the name Beef wrap just doesn't do it justice, it just seems like it should be named something like "Taiwanese sesame crusted beef wrap with cilantro & special sauce", or something like "Emperor's beef wrap" "Taiwanese Beef Rolls have deep-rooted historical ties, but their story extends beyond Taiwan's borders. While the exact origin remains somewhat unclear, one prevailing theory traces their roots to Shanghai, a bustling city in northeastern China" We had the Westlake beef soup, just a slight variation from the chinese version of the ingredients plus it had finely chopped ingredients , stir fried water spinach, so far this was my favorite and mixed with the , Taiwanese Fried Noodles so good. The Pickled Cabbage w bean sheet with edamame. First time to try this, it was very good. The Taiwanese noodles were very similar to Pancit Bihon one of my favorite Filipino dishes. Plus, I just mixed them with the fried water spinach for lunch, so delicious. We always order a variety from new restaurants to get a feel for what our favorites might be and it then they even taste better warmed up the next day. I included pictures: the bowl of soup it could serve a family. A note: We all love cilantro and almost all dishes come with a nice portion of cilantro.

Yelp
Ahgoo's Kitchen is still worth coming to despite the drive and trying to catch them on days when they are open. Check their Yelp page and give them a call prior to visiting because they may be on vacation. I have been disappointed a few times by making over an hour drive for them to be closed, so make sure to double check! Food is always great here. I highly recommend the Signature Green Onion Sesame Pie ($17.95) and the Fish Filet with Bean Sauce ($17.95) to dip it in. They are the perfect combo. I only recently tried the Beef Wrap ($16.95), and it was really good. One of the best beef wrap I've had. Despite the high price, I think it's worth it because it is hefty and the beef they use is that Taiwanese red/braised beef that is often found in Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup. I only do takeout from this place and everything reheats well at home. I use an air fryer for the sesame pie and beef wrap and they turn out well. The people who work here are friendly in person and over the phone. They mostly speak mandarin, but can understand English. If you don't want to order the wrong thing, make sure to have them repeat the order back to you or use Google translate.

Yelp
When people talk about scallion pancake, this place has to be mentioned. They are well known for this special dish and other authentic Chinese food. Highly recommended. Medium size restaurant, clean and descent dining area. Very efficient service, friendly staffs. Be aware of being asked if you want to order the scallion pancake as soon as you walk in the door. If you are in the area, definitely give them a try.

Yelp
We're the type of family that never leaves OC and so seeing restaurants like this on Sandra L's and other yelpers feed just made me immediately bookmark but also green with envy. It probably took us 3 or more years to take a day off for ourselves and travel up to SGV to try restaurants that has been in our que. The thick fluffy layers of green onion pie ($18) definitely caught our attention and was placed on our SGV food tour to-go list. We tried calling right when they opened, several times, but no one ever picked up. So we had to wait awhile after ordering to get our food, roughly 15 mins. The establishment looked like it's been around for awhile with a mom and pop feel. I can't say much to the service, friendly enough, since we ordered to-go. After 15 minutes, we greedily grabbed our bag of food, ran back to the car and had a taste. Damn that thick onion bread hit just all the right spots we knew there'd be a repeat trip just for the bread. Luckily, the SGV gods were on our side and about 2 months later we were able to come up here again and purchased 2 orders of the green onion pancake. I love reheating it in the microwave for instantaneous green onion/carb gratification. We've also tried the fish in bean sauce ($18) and basil eggplant ($16). Both were good but not on the same level as the green onion pancake. Overall, best green onion I've ever had and beat out my other favorite place for green onion pancake.

Yelp
The beef rolls here are AHHHMAZINGG. Like, so good that my aunt who stopped eating meat will still scrap off all the beef just to eat the roll part. It's crispy, and perfectly seasoned with the sauce. If it's your first time, def get the beef roll and the seaweed fish filet. They're both cooked so so well. Crispy but doesn't feel overly oily or heavy. The beef roll is stuffed with so so much meat. So good! I used to frequent 101 noodle express for their beef rolls but the beef rolls here at ahgoo's are in a league of their own! The cold combination plate was also really good but it def has a kick of spicy so it may not be for those who can't handle heat. The chef is from Taiwan but I think learned to cook Hong Kong style cuisine and is super nice! My uncle comes a lot and he drives down from Victorville just to eat here! If you're in the area or on the hunt for amazing beef rolls, definitely give this place a try!

Yelp
This was my first time trying this place. It has a decent sized dining area and we got seated right away. I haven't tried too many Taiwanese/Mandarin style restaurants, but this was a surprise. Their seaweed fish dish was amazing. And their beef wrap was outstanding. The meat was tender, the bread was soft but flaky. I tried a variety of dishes. From veggies to noodles, from green onion cake to the beef wrap and everything was delicious and flavorful. It's good to go with a group as this would be a family style restaurant. This place doesn't have a parking lot, so it's basically street parking only. I would come back to this place and try their other dishes.

Yelp
I didn't see satay beef and ong choi on the menu but I saw someone posted it on Yelp so I had to try it. It was good but everything else was ehhhhhh. Also, that entree didn't come with rice, rice is an additional $2. Their signature green onion pie is definitely not bomb or to die for. Idk why it would be their signature and not even taste good. I had half a slice and drowned it in vinegar. It's like they give a lot knowing it tastes bad to make up for the price you paid for it. It came out in a to-go box already instead of a plate. The ambiance and interior of this place reminds me of eating in China. I can hear everyone talking and there's no music. The service was quick and waiters were attentive. I'm not sure if they have a parking area in the back but the front entrance is on a busy street so if you see street parking, take it!

Yelp
My parents have been coming here forever for their sesame green onion cakes. We typically pre-order and come pickup. They make it super fluffy with lots of green onions. The outside is crunchy crispy and the inside - warm fluffy and savory. Honestly I haven't found any other place that is better!

Yelp
The food here is so good. It's a real good solid five out of five stars. Totally slept on and maybe one of the best Taiwanese bread restaurants we go to. However, the service here is absolutely the worst service I've ever had. If there could be a negative rating for service, this would be one of the first restaurants that we could receive my first negative star rating for service. So unfortunately, as much as I want to give this place a five star for how amazing the food is the service is so bad that I can only give it a three star. It's not just one time but every time I come it's the same poor service and they always blame something but when you come long enough, you know that this is just the way it is.

Yelp
Wonderful hole in the wall place for very authentic Chinese cuisine, it's definitely a mix of different regions. You will find dishes like mapo tofu and hot and sour soup which is made very fresh with spices and herbs. They have an onion pancake but it's made in a very thick style, most like onion bread. It's very delicious and picturesque. If you are daring they have other dishes like, such as intestine with tofu and blood cake, intestine with pig ears and tofu. Typical easy to eat dish would be the shredded tofu and the onion pancakes and the rice noodle dish. You'll probably leave here with leftovers :p They have street parking and a clean bathroom.

Yelp
This is a restaurant I've had on my list for a long time now. Their sesame bread did not disappoint. Their beef roll was one of the better ones I've had in SGV. The portion sizes are pretty large so it's easy to over order. It's best to come with a small group so you can try several dishes. We had 4 adults and 4 kids and ordered 4 dishes and ended up taking home a good amount of leftovers. Don't forget they are cash only.

Yelp
A very good hole in the wall taiwanese restaurant. The menu is small but the dishes are executed well. The green onion sesame pie and sesame thin pizza are worth a visit to try. The green onion sesame pie takes a while to prepare so you can call in to order it ahead of time.

Yelp
i love this place. mostly street parking, but generally pretty easy to find. very small, very hole in wall. but everything is good. from their veggies, to soups, to beef wraps, you really cant go wrong. and of course- their green onion pie. so unique and cool! thick and fluffy, with all the layers of green onion and bread. crusted all around with sesame. so good. the ladies that work here are really nice too. totally reliable, tasty joint. watch out for random closed hours..
google avatar

Jan D.

Yelp
Beef roll here is amazing! It is so good that it probably ruined all others... Similar to how DTF chili oil wontons ruined all the others and I have yet to find one to compare. All the dishes here are tasty! Their beef stir fry, eggplant, thick scallion bread.. you cannot go wrong! Come in hungry and leave extra full!

Yelp
When my family arrived they asked us to wait. Someone walked in afterwards and they sat them first. Looked like maybe they knew the staff. They came over and said "those people have a reservation." This place does not look like the type of place that takes reservations but does look like the type of place that would lie about someone having reservations. We tried ordering green onion pie. They said they ran out. Sure enough, the table they sat before us got an order. Staff lied again and said they preordered. Sad thing is my daughter listened to their conversation in mandarin and they had ordered it on the spot. Staff continued to lie and stood by what they said. Won't be coming back to be treated like this.

Yelp
MUST TRY! This is restaurant is a gem. The restaurant is clean, waitresses are nice, and the food is excellent (at least the ones I ordered today). 1. Signature green onion pie/pancake with sesame: OMG, it is SOOOOO good. The outside is crispy and full of sesame taste, and the inside is soft and has lots of green onions. Why? Because it is freshly made, and came out piping hot. Oh yeah, and it smelled heavenly! 2. Signature bean cured: It is a tasty dish. I ate it with the green onion pie with sesame but I think it will go really well with white rice. 3. Fried fish filet: It was crispy and yummy. This is a must try restaurant in my book. I will definitely come back to try other dishes.

Yelp
Found this place while walking around the area and decided to give it a try. The first thing when you enter the waiters ask if you want the green onion sesame pies and we decided to give it a try. They give you hot tea and they didn't charge extra for it. Rice cost $1.50 extra per bowl. In terms of food I gave these a try. Signature Green Onion Sesame Pie - They ask all customers if they want this and it's totally worth getting. Btw it comes with 8 pieces, so it's no joke and easily sharable for 6-8 people. The pieces are big boys so you probably need just one per person. This is absolutely delicious though, soft flakey and the dough was super fresh. An easy (5/5). Mapo Tofu - I really enjoyed this. Saucy and tons of flavor. Really good with white rice. (4.5/5) Stewed Chicken with ginger and wine - This wasn't my favorite because there were tiny bones. The taste was overall really good but you have to be careful for the tiny bones. (3.5/5) Basil Eggplant - This was solid. Really soft packed with a plenty of sauce. For some reason this came so late we were almost already done with our food when it arrived. They probably forgot the order so we ended up taking it home. Nothing super special, it's a classic. (4/5) Fish filet with bean sauce - I love saucy white fish and this does not disappoint. The fish was soft and melty and sauce was full of flavor. Definitely get white rice with this. (5/5) For a small restaurant this place really makes great food. They do speak a little bit of English but if you know mandarin that would help a lot. Small menu makes it easier to choose items. I would be back but probably order less dishes, the dishes are pretty sizable. Was like $104 for 5 dishes before tax. Worth a try!

Yelp
Went for dinner on a Thursday. It's a small shop, literally run by a husband and wife duo, serving around 8 tables plus to go orders. So, service is what it is. But the food is so good! It's a little pricy, but it's really quality food and hand made! Imagine if you could make this at home, you wouldn't skimp on the fresh fish or the beef or anything yummy, right? Well, they don't either, so it's worth the price and the wait. We loved the Shepard's purse fish soup with plenty of fish, the freshly made sesame green onion bread, the seaweed fish with just light batter, and the beef roll with plenty of sauce, cilantro, and beef and the wrap was freshly made. We also got the three cup chicken, which my dad said was very authentic, but my mom complained about the tiny crushed bones in the dish, and the salt and pepper ribs were ok. Because it's just the husband and wife duo, do expect a long meal if it's busy. Overall, it was delicious, worth the long wait, and we'll be back!

Yelp
We came in and the first thing they asked was if we wanted an order of their green onion sesame pie (they make it fresh and it takes about 20 min, so hats off to them for the efficiency!). You can tell they care about making things fresh for their customers - the vegetables were so fresh and delicious, and their seaweed fish was so crisp and delicious, I couldn't resist eating before the sesame pie came out. You know they're serious about food and don't care about any of the frills. I love ahgoo's so much. Thank you for having us!

Dennis L.

Yelp
Green onion cake is the best. No one even comes close to it. Other dishes were great as well.

Yelp
Heard about this place from a friend and they highly recommended the scallion thick bread. It was indeed very thick and had lots of layers. We would have preferred the layers to be cooked just a minute longer but it was still good. The portion for the fish was smaller than other places that charge about the same price. Service was good. Not much decor in the restaurant but we always like to support small mom and pop shops. Street parking is available.

Yelp
Decent Taiwanese home made food. If you really want to have some traditional dishes, Ahgoo's Kitchen is a right choice, nothing fancy, but make you feel home.

Yelp
Good service and tasty food although I feel the sesame pancake could do with more sesame and and be more crispy but everything else was super yummy!!

Yelp
This my favorite restaurant for hot & sour soup , sesame/onion pan fried bread and beef rolls. The menu is simple, but all of the dishes are authentic and delicious. The staff are very busy, but friendly when you need them. They recently remodeled and the restaurant is clean, casual and comfortable. In addition to smaller tables, they also have a couple of large round tables for larger groups. We're looking forward to our next meal at Ahgoo's Kitchen!

Yelp
Delicious! I've been wanting to try this forever! Finally made it with my bf. Seaweed fish was super crispy, savory umami flavor. Green onion sesame pie took forever to be made and served but that's how you know super fresh! Crispy exterior with soft fluffy layers filled with green onions. Bamboo with pork very comforting home cooking kind of dish. The tables are kind of awkwardly placed in the room and has zero ambiance. The awkward silence of people murmuring in the table adjacent to us... because there is no music in the background Would come get back for fish!
google avatar

Seno C.

Yelp
Well lit, spacous and clean. People are friendly and work efficiently. We have been here few times. They are known for the green onions pancakes. It is delicious, soft with crispy on the outside. It is better to order this a head of time as it takes longer to make. Oh, if you want bowl of rice, you should ask. It is not automatically included. Define will come by again.

Yelp
This place has the best beef wrap and green onion sesame pie! It's a no frills restaurant and the other food is good too, but the beef wrap and green onion sesame pie are must tries.

Yelp
-- at Ahgoo's Kitchen.

Yelp
try it? ? Originally, their sesame flatbread and sesame crepes were very delicious, but today I am very very very disappointed! It was supposed to be pan fry, dry freight until it is totally done with a Crispy charred out site as soft inside texture! But today it is deep fried with dirty oil so the color was pretty coffee dark and very oily! Moss fish pieces are deep fried too much! Wisternoff fresh oil and totally overcooked dark color, hard and DRY! The salted egg yolk pumpkin slices was a total disaster! Limp, don't hold the texture! Just look at the degree of frying on the surface, some are cooked, some are raw, some are black, and some are light! No good flavor nor good smell of salted egg yolk! Only the dried shredded Bean curd and pork is up to the standard ! This is a restaurant where you won't want to come back again! Not tooo expensive! But Comparing the price you pay and the quality of the food, it is too expensive! My critic - big disappointment! !

Yelp
The food is way too oily. I was also given a simmered combination when I ordered a seafood combination.

Yelp
I love food. But what really gets my thirst for something exotic is a diverse menu of dishes. Ahgoo does a fantastic job at that, having pig intestines, sesame bread, 3 cup dishes, and pretty much all of my childhood favorites. Unfortunately, it did deliver. Childhood dreams not fulfilled today, but I will tell you what happened. Had this place bookmarked for years. As a former resident of the SGV, I venture out this way on the weekends to support local. One Saturday in Dec 2021, I decided just to come here and order to go. But because I knew in advance of the language barrier, I thought I would order in person. When you come here, this place has a this simplicity to it. There is really not much to look at, no walls with art or menu and it just feels like a big dining room mostly with circular tables. But we're not here about the decor, I really wanted to order since I knew it would take a bit of time. After chasing down the auntie in the room before the kitchen, I broke out my Mandarin to order. 5 dishes and about $80 something dollar later, I was told it would be 55 minutes. Not a problem, I went to get boba down the street in Alhambra. But when I came back an hour later, the food was still not ready, I'm sure it was because of the sesame bread because it was the last item out and into my bag. Speaking of which, that first bite of the bread was delicious. I didn't want the bread to lose the crunch integrity since i was driving home to Orange County. But when I bit into it, a burst of oil was soaked around the interior of the bread. As it turned out, after trying the bread a day later, it was confirmed that it was either too much oil or just under-cooked. The bread wasn't fluffy on the inside like I am used to. The seaweed fish was just dry, you'll have better experience at Mama Lu's 501 Garvey location. Their salt and pepper pork chop was the best dish we got here, nothing was super fatty that you usually would get at other Chinese takeouts. And apparently, there must've been some slight miscommunication because the soup I got was not the one I thought. BTW, if you order soup to-go, it only comes in one size, the larger size. Not sure if these new owners are just plain busy, or not getting enough help. I do think lots of these issues I've experienced could be resolved perhaps with a couple more kitchen workers. Perhaps I will be back as a first customer one day and dine inside. That way, I can get my food the way it should be hopefully.

Yelp
So gooood..... Best green onion pie ever in LA area ! Crispy and loaded with green onions! Many other restaurants not offering extra green onions even if you pay for it. Eggplant very delicious and hot (熱炒)! highly recommend! I love their hot and sour soup too! Parking in rear and can walk in from back door or park in the front curb side.

Yelp
Large portions! Though prices are inflated due to pandemic, this is expected and the quality is good. Next time we'll try the seaweed fish fillet! But the shepherd's purse fish soup and fried rice noodles are homey and filling! Truly a mom and pop shop!

Yelp
If there's a 3.5 star rating I would place this restaurant with that rating. I must admit the food is quite tasty and the beef roll was one of the best I've eaten in the SGV and L.A. area. Here's my take on the whole dining experience, food service was slow, took about 20 minutes to get our food ordered and each dish came sparingly about 15-30 minutes apart. So basically you're getting full by drinking their tea and just finish eating one dish at a time when it get served. Besides the service, the green beans were delicious, perfect deep flavors and a bit chewy in a good way. The house green onion bread was a pillowy dream, I wish there were some kind of curry like dish to soak up the doughy deliciousness. The house special 3 cup intestine, squid, and chicken was complex and full of flavor. The ultimate star in our dining experience was the beef roll. The beef was perfectly tender, the sesame wrap was chewy and crunchy on the same note. It all gets infused with the cilantro, green onions, and plum sauce. I'm still savoring that perfect harmony of these flavors. What the restaurant needs to work on is definitely the waiting service, menu descriptions of each dish, and perhaps some better photos of the food since the menu options are limited. I would say the food is good and worth a shot to try, but bare with the food coming out slow and the slow service.

Yelp
Nice family restaurant with home style food. Staff are very friendly. Definitely one of the best beef rolls around. We also like their Taiwanese fried noodle and Westlake soup. The green onion sesame pie is also good - very much like focaccia. I'm looking forward to working our way through the menu.

Yelp
This location had been occupied by one of those ancient American Chinese diners called Ye Loy for a long time. Whenever I used to drive by this place it would conjure up the image of brown sauce covered egg foo young and "chow mein" made with deep fried dough sticks (not to be confused with deep fried noodles) and bean sprouts. That's why I've never stopped in since Ahgoo's Kitchen opened up until I read about it on Eater LA. I'm really glad I finally gave this place a try. I think Ahgoo means uncle in Taiwanese so this is the uncle's kitchen and arguably one of most authentic Taiwanese diner I've been to in years. One of their most popular items is the green onion sesame pie and for good reasons. It's filled with lots of diced scallion inside the layers of fluffy dough. The sesame crust has a nice crunch to it, too. The fish fillet with bean sauce looked spicy but it's not really. In comparison to Szechuan cuisine Taiwanese cuisine is rather mild so the "spicy" dishes are generally fairly mild, which serves me perfectly. The fish is flavored with a little fermented black bean paste and a lot of fermented rice and garlic. It was my favorite out of the dishes I ordered. The assorted simmered combo is a mixture of sliced braised meats like beef shank, honeycomb tripe, tendon, dried tofu, and pig's ear tossed in a mild Szechuan peppercorn chili sauce. The level of saltiness and spiciness was just perfect. The Satay bbq beef with water spinach (aka ong choy) reminded me of the ones served at one of the night markets in Taiwan. The bottom line: everything I ordered was very authentic and tasty. I'll be going back to try other dishes.

Yelp
Great mom-and-pop shop Chinese restaurant! It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some of the more fancy counterparts, but this place does have a really great homey vibe. There are a lot of big tables for larger parties. We really appreciated that they had cute kids' plates for the toddlers! We liked the three cup chicken and the house green onion bread. It's definitely a hefty bite of bread.

Yelp
Delicious and authentic Taiwanese food! Highly recommend their hot and sour soup. It tastes just like the ones in Taiwan. They are flexible in making dishes to be vegetarian too. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Been here a twice now and both times, I'd have to say I'm impressed! This review is for both visits and both times the taste have been consistent. The storefront is facing Las Tunas, a very busy street and if you're driving too fast it can be easily missed. The first time, I went in person to order and it took up to 40 minutes and the second time I decided to call in my order and pick up. PARKING: There is free street parking right up front and there is parking in the residential streets behind or across the street. FOOD: The food is authentic and taste very homey. What I noticed very quickly and love most is that for Chinese/ Taiwanese food from Aghoo's Kitchen is that it is not overly oily at all. There are so many times, I go eat Chinese food and the meal sits very heavy in my stomach for hours. Most of the to go portions are pretty big which means I have leftovers the next day and I look forward to it the follow day. Dry Fried String Beans- Tried this at many restaurants but not all can get it right! The string bean have minced pork and preserved veggies and most importantly the string beans have a crunch to each bite. Seaweed Fish Filet- The batter is light, thin, and mixed with a good amount of thin seaweed. Other places I've tried taste like a mouthful of batter or is doughy. The fish filet to batter combination is just right. Hot Tip, to reheat leftovers use a toaster oven so the taste is still crispy! Fried Pumpkin with Salted Egg Yolk- Interesting dish and was very curious about it. Tried it and really liked the taste. The salted Egg Yolks flavor was cooked in and lightly topped. The salted egg yolk taste is subtle. I would say the amount of to go on this one was smaller compare to the other dishes- a little disappointed and most likely won't order again. Salt and Pepper Pork Ribs- The pork ribs were fried and on the smaller side. I ordered this thinking this would be more steamed like dim sum. There is nothing special about this dish. I would pass on this and try something else next time. The Beef Wrap is double rolled and packed generously. The wrap is not too oily. Signature Green Onion Sesame Pie- A very good amount. The bite is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. This is a great compliment to a dish with sauce or soup which you can dip in and balance out the taste. PRICE: Compare to other Chinese restaurants, the price is on the slightly higher end. Both visits, my bill was around $50-$55 for 4 dishes. I'd say for the delicious taste, the portion for most of the dishes, the not overly greasy dishes, and the not making me feel sick after I eat is worth it! TOP DISHES TO TRY: Beef Roll, Signature Green Onion Sesame Pie, String Beans, and Seaweed Fish! Friendly service, tasty food, and nice staff I look forward to going back!

Yelp
(+) Beef wrap (+) Signature green onion sesame pie Ahgoo's kitchen is a Chinese restaurant that specializes in food that tastes homemade. In my opinion, Ahgoo has the best beef roll and green onion pancake. Food: The food such as the mapo tofu, Taiwanese fried rice and fish filet are all excellent choices for family style. Large portions and tasty food are some The beef rolls and green onion sesame pie are so fluffy and soft. The beef rolls are filled with tender beef and its share of cilantro. If you love carbs, you should be careful. Service: The food does take quite awhile to complete. I recommend calling in your order or you'll be waiting awhile for your food. Overall, I recommend ahgoo's kitchen for all your Chinese food desires. If you're a fan of beef rolls, ahgoo's kitchen is a must try.

Yelp
The beef pancakes roll is really really good!! We have tried so many different restaurants. This is one of our favorite. Always order two. One is not enough for us lol

Yelp
The food was delicious. Everything that we order was very flavorful, but not too salty or greasy. Service was fast and friendly. This is a small restaurant and got packed quick right when it open at 11. So my advice to you is either go right when it open to avoid any wait. There are people that actually have made reservation for this place. Food comes out steamy hot so you know it's freshly made to order. I will definitely come back again to try other stuff I didn't get to order this time around. Oh, one last thing the serving was pretty big for the price of they charge.

Yelp
We refer to this place as the THICC SCALLION BREAD place. They have a specialty bread that's got a nice pan-fried sesame crust and tons of green onions that is hard to find nowadays. They also make a great red yeasted pork belly and spinach fried fish that many places don't make anymore. We often get take out here, just be sure to call in.

Yelp
I am not Taiwanese so I can't say how "authentic" this place is, but the food sure tastes good! They are famous for their green onion pie, which is basically Chinese focaccia bread! You must order as soon as you sit down. I have tried many of their other dishes, and my favorites are "assorted simmered combination" which is a mix of tofu, pig's ears, cured beef etc in spicy oil, and the fish filet in bean sauce, which is fish in a thick sauce that's kinda reminiscent of mapo tofu but it's less spicy. They are really, really delicious! The decor is sparse and the lady speaks very minimal English, but are these hallmark signs of a good immigrant place? :D Come and be a little adventurous, or check photos on here first. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
My family has been ordering from here recently after seeing it highlighted on multiple platforms! I will say the flavor of the food is an A+. The cost is a bit high, however you get some amazing tasting food. Our go-to is the green onion pancake and the beef roll. Can't go wrong with either!

Yelp
I love their onion pancake and fried seaweed fish. So delicious! Prices have risen a bit due to inflation but quality is still really good. Small mom and pop business :)
