Struggling Filipino Restaurants Will Feed Bay Area Health Care Workers and Others in Need | Eater SF

"At a hospital like Daly City’s Seton Medical Center, which recently set aside more than half of its beds to treat COVID-19 patients, Filipino nurses make up a large share of the staff (about 60 percent at Seton), and the hospital is one of seven that will receive meals through the Filipinos Feed the Frontlines program." - Luke Tsai

Google
Great staff - doctors, nurses, therapists are all caring, warm, hardworking, and always available in the ICU for my husband. They are staffed well. They have time to get to know their patients. Unlike other hospitals and clinics, Seton is spacious and well staffed unlike other hospitals in nearby cities that are over crowded. I’m glad we ended up here. only because other hospitals are full. This place is a gem. I will consider switching to Seton Hospital for all my health needs, too

Google
Came here for a profusely bleeding hand injury as this was closest hospital. Triage nurse was really nice. Waited in the ER waiting room for another 2 hours before being seen by the Physician Assistant on duty. The nurse with her seemed relatively new and was being trained. I realize financial constraints may have impacted staffing resulting in the long wait time. Overall, staff are friendly, but I would hesitate to come here for anything more complex or serious.

Google
This hospital doesn’t even deserve a 1 star, that’s too high. Doctors have extremely nasty attitudes, the nurses are unprofessional as I can’t even put into words, the hospital alone is gross. One thing the nurses will do is not put you as a priority if you request something. Before I was able to get what I needed (which I never actually got) it took 4 hours for the nurse to see me and I was directly in front of the nurses station. This place needs to be shut down. Like they were closed once before and for whatever reasons Newsom opened it back up

Jen M.

Google
I had an amazing experience with the emergency room and hospital staff. The doctors and nurses were knowledgeable, attentive, and addressed my issues in a timely manner. I was there for 5 days and all of them were as positive as they could be in a hospital.

Google
My mother is in and out of seton hospital and Lindamar and finally she is stable now I applaude Dr.Tsang , Dr. Sanjorjo, Dr.Murphy and the other specialist who took care of my mother The nurses , case manager Phil Florendo , RN’s, orderly, dietary, housekeeping , ER nurses, receptionist , securities are all excellent… I’m very grateful of the services rendered to my mother .. Amazing …. The dialysis nurses too and the transporters .. Can’t thank you enough Seton medical center the best in Daly City California

Google
I came in to ask for help treating my illness (bronchitis/ "walking pneumonia") and a male nurse (very nasally voice, short height, Vietnamese or some type of Asian) told me I needed an xray. I asked him how that determines what cold or flu I have, and he told me if I want to be a doctor I should leave and go to school, otherwise stop questioning him. I was surprised that this little man was employed as he clearly demonstrated incompetence, lack of knowledge of Healthcare/ treatment/ general science, and the inability to properly use the English language with emotional maturity or professional understanding. I wouldn't mind his bad attitude if he knew how to properly process patience, but despite the wonderful doctors, operators etc I recommend you choose a different hospital because there is an angry old man misguiding and misdiagnosing patients as a nurse. The doctor even told me he was an idiot for referring me to get an xray, I hope you all understand the seriousness of trusting someone who does not care about your well being even though they work at a hospital. If you come across this man, make a formal complaint so we can add them up and get him out of healthcare. I will get his name and update this review. DO NOT TRUST THE NURSES UNLESS THEY RESPOND TO YOU PROFESSIONALLY.

Ryan H.

Google
Not here to throw meanness towards any particular staff - they are generally friendly and, in my experience, provide good care. My negative review is for the hospital's organizational structure around billing. Trying to figure out the justifications behind each line item from a billing statement feels like pulling out teeth. I patiently went from one department to the next on the phone for multiple days worth of lunch breaks, only to have the finger pointed to another department each time. It feels like this hospital purposely makes insurance related questions so difficult to answer so that it's patients to pay off any cost thrown at them. Go elsewhere if you can.

Bea S.

Google
The worse emergency room. Dr. Crane is rude and racist. She stereotyped my family when she walked in, belittled my son, and made us feel like we were wasting her time. I get bedside manor is not usually doctors traits, but congratulating someone for having diabetes is disrespectful and distasteful. I will be writing a letter to the medical board and the head of Seton.

Yelp
Great experience in the ER. I was seen immediately; the nurses, support staff and Doctor were all kind, compassionate, and professional. The diagnosis was efficient and accurate. I was treated with respect. Thank you, everybody!
google avatar

Jacqueline S.

Yelp
I wish I could give negative stars. My diabetic mother was summarily ignored for hours--not even water--with a deteriorating foot infection. She's in danger of sepsis, and the doctor never came (I found him bantering in the hallway and he was incredibly rude when I suggested he could give care to his patients). No treatment whatsoever was given, and eventually I gave up and took her to another hospital where she was immediately given proper care. This joint is worse than worthless; it is harmful. Please do not take anyone you care about here.
google avatar

Christine S.

Yelp
We walked into the ER, and almost three hours later, we walked out. The only thing they did for me was check my BP and temp. I have a potentially serious problem developing, and they did not help me at all. The place was not that busy. They just basically ignored us. For hours! I will never set foot in that place again. I wonder if they'll have the nerve to bill Medicare for all this nonsense. So after all of that wasted time, I went to UCSF Panassus, where they took proper care of me.
google avatar

Gina M.

Yelp
My daughter's boyfriend was a patient at Seton. He went to the ER in hopes of getting some much needed medical care. After two (2) hours, he was finally admitted as a patient, but waited six (6) to be seen by a doctor. Had I not gone in to check on him and suggest that he request to be discharged (so he could go to another hospital), he probably would have waited another eight (8) hours before being seen. Call it absurd because after he made the request, the one and only doctor who was on staff decided to see him. Yes, that is correct, there was literally one doctor in the ER. It's no wonder that this hospital has a poor reputation. If ever you have a medical emergency, this is not the hospital to go to.

Yelp
Was not at all the best place but only was the most proximal and convenient to the skilled nursing facility. Kaiser was deemed by the EMT techs as too far. Emergency ICU doctor was mainly a cardiologist. He just did not have the bedside manner you want when you're in very traumatic stressful times, and family is being put on life support. It was ... not a great experience. Yeah, how's that for Understatement of the Year. Couple of the nurses are fine. But very much hit and miss with the attending physicians and overnight nurse practitioner. I'm conflicted as to whether a uniformly competent caring ICU staff would have made the true difference between life, limbo and death. But I'm not conflicted in my opinion as to the general experience my family had at Seton Hospital ICU: Disappointing.

Roger S.

Yelp
Known for poor care for decades. I recently broke my hip and in great pain. The ambulance driver said I would never take you there and took me to Mills instead. I am grateful. Today, regrettably, a friend is at the end of his life and he was transferred there from his facility. NO CHAPLIN. Wtf. What would on these losers live in. Please. Daly City deserves a real hospital. Someone please buy it

Yelp
The hospital is pretty old and ER room, but I will say after the long wait they did have a doctor that basically saved my life!! I have epilepsy and my pharmacy was supposed to fill my prescription to treat my epilepsy and refused to fill it a day early.. they told me that it was ready yesterday, but when I got there the pharmacist " Cyn" told me I cannot get the medication and that it was too early to refill that my doctor said that I cannot get any early refill which made no sense because the day prior he said he was getting the medication ready to fill for me and I could even come in the day prior.. I also got something from them stating I could pick up the medication that day, and I talked to another pharmacist that stated that I could pick up my medicine, but they left me in a very serious situation where I could've lost my life. After three hours of being there, I finally called the medics., and had them take me to Seton Hospital.. I talked to The PA. GREG, and he said he had no problem filling the medication give me a couple days worth of it... the only thing I can tell you is it took a long time to get back into a room and the facilities aren't the cleanest, but I will admit everyone was very nice to me. I didn't have any issues.. I disagree with a lot of the negative comments .. if it wasn't for this hospital, I may not even still be alive...

Yelp
Well I personally had nothing but horrible experiences at Seton in the 70's 80's and 1 time after I retired. We had an emergency with my 89 year old Mom. I had heard Seton was sold again, and the ambulance would not take her to St. Luke's. I said let's give it a try. well here we are going on 10 hours in emergency, for a cat scan EKG, blood work, she has dementia but doing Ok since she moved in with us. well Seton is 3 nurses short and only has 2 doctors. One nurse tried to justify their slow moving because they are the lowest paying hospital in the bay area. I said so my mom has to suffer because you don't know how to negotiate a contract to get what all the other hospitals get? Well the assistant care givers here are top notch. they never stop running the whole10 hours we have been here.
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
By far the worst hospital ever! DO NOT be seen here.. Father was no longer needed to be placed in ICU and staff continued to keep him on ICU floor due to staffing shortage on general hospital floor. No oncologist on site. Biopsy/test results took weeks to be received. Please shut down soon. Seton Hospital, your time has come to end!

Dennis L.

Yelp
I was there to pick up a family member and was disappointed at the behavior of attending nurse and nursing assistant. The comments made and behavior are disconcerting. The nursing assistant that escorted us down also make inappropriate comments in the elevator. I can only guess because of what the attending nurse must have said. In other words making false statements to create and inflame a situation when there is none. A sign of a trouble maker. The attending nurse should be terminated as the public pays for hospital services. I can't blame the assistant as she is provided information from this nurse. Unless she knows better, going along with nurse, then assistant also needs to go. The hospital should screen their employees more thoroughly before hiring them and raise their standards. I guess there must be a shortage of good qualified personnel. Be prepared to deal with some defunct personnel.

Yelp
My brother was in the ER at Seton last night and the nurse Kieth Frias took great care of him. My brother has Down Syndrome and is nonverbal so it could be hard to care for him, but Kieth was so patient and gentle with him even though the ER was really busy that night. My family and I were so appreciative of his advocacy for my brother's comfort (i.e. advocating for giving my brother more time to try to urinate vs. sticking a catheter in right away). Thank you again Kieth!

Alex W.

Yelp
Worst experience of my life. I wasn't even treated like a human being. I almost thought I was trash. Honestly my phd educated therapist would and will have words with their treatment

Yelp
To think we are living in times where even the hospitals lack compassion care & basic bed side manner is RIDICULOUS.! I'm not sure why this place still exists but I will NOT be back... they should be ashamed the way they treat people & the conditions of this place. Smh!! idc what is happening I'd rather treat myself... at least I know I care...

Yelp
I went to Seton Hospital 10/29/2024 due to a bad headache and numbness in my face. While at Seton, I got a CT scan. Before almost being discharged, I asked to speak to a mental health specialist regarding my case of anxiety and frequent panic attacks. Once I was sent into a room, I was asked if I was suicidal, to which I said no. They continued to ask if I ever have been suicidal and I told them back in 2022 it crossed my mind when my dog passed away but I never acted on it so no I'm not suicidal. The case worker name Meleanie is the person to ask me a bunch of questions but as I told her I was only looking for someone who handles anxiety and panic attacks and how to take care of them without medication. To make the long story short, I was held captive at Seton for 2 days against my will. There were nurses and other hospital staff sitting outside my room to make sure I didn't leave. I even asked if I can just go outside to get fresh air even with a nurse and was told No by a doctor. I was told if I tried to leave then cops would be called on me to bring me back. I asked if I could at least go outside with a nurse to get fresh air and was also told no by a doctor. I was sent to a mental hospital located in Marin County 10/30/2024 against my will. I was there for one night and was seen by a doctor the next day 10/31/2024 who re-interviewed me and highly believed I had absolutely no business being there. And I was released. I was told by Marin that the case worker at Seton Hospital put on the paper that I was suicidal and a danger to myself. Which was definitely untrue. I want to take action against Seton Hospital for kidnapping me and sending me to a psychiatric hospital when I wasn't qualified to be there nor a danger to myself. I feel extremely violated, I felt like I was being kidnapped and held hostage with no way to call my mother or anyone. I was scared and now I'm beyond traumatized.

Yelp
I had to take my mom to Seton's ER per her doctor's request today. Wasn't looking forward to this at all. The waiting room was packed and got her registered. It was around 3:40 pm and there were only 2 clerks in registration. Not enough chairs and on top of that, the waiting room was closed off for construction access only. Great! Just in time for the Omicron variant. The RN called her in to check her vitals and she told us to wait outside til they call her. It will be a long wait due to 6-7 ambulances that just arrived. These poor people ahead of me are still waiting their turn. It's now 5:30 pm and expecting an all nighter. Seton is in such sad state of affairs, filing bankruptcy and Newsom kept it open because of Covid. It's a good thing I put mom in a wheelchair when we arrived. Any bidders out there who want to buy Seton and save the people? Addendum Mom was finally called in the ER at 7 pm Mon and was told she will be admitted to the hospital at 11pm but was she was still there waiting for her room until 5:30 pm the next day! That's 22 hours! Unbelievable! There were patients on gurneys in the hallways in the ER bec there were no rooms available for them!

Yelp
The worst ER ever, the only doctor here is DR.Dre by Beats. Rip to you if you think they gone save you. Horrible
google avatar

Alicia G.

Yelp
Came by ambulance. Had a serious broken arm my surgeon fought to get me into surgery that day before the swelling occurred. Excellent Dr and the ER was fabulous
google avatar

Florence M.

Yelp
Worst hospital ever. Terrible doctors. Basically killed my husband there. They missed the diagnosis and then killed him with an unnecessary biopsy which he never needed. Then their bill was $500,000 ( to Medicare) for being idiots and killing someone. Don't go. !! Under any circumstances. Drive to Stanford.

Ana F.

Yelp
Everything from the quality to the type of care. We were even requested to bring a blanket from home for my 103 year old father who had been admitted to the hospital due to a fall that day. The day he was released he was not given any pain medicine because they wanted to give him medicine he had had a bad reaction the previous day. This rating does not deserve any stars.

Mike E.

Yelp
Malpractice lawsuit coming shortly. I went in with high blood pressure, and they literally drugged me and did procedures without my consent. They attempted to turn off the lights and put me to sleep in order to rack up the bill, but luckily the drugs wore off and I was able to successfully leave. I just received a 5k plus bill, and I was told I would not be charged because "they have homeless people there". I'm unemployed and disabled. This place should be avoided 100%.

Blanca S.

Yelp
The worse hospital in Daly City I was treated so poorly, the bed didn't have a pillow, when I asked for one the nurse only gave me two blankets to use as pillows. The Nurse that saw me was so rude Shirley Wu, the staff has changed so much, next time I rather go to San Mateo county hospital. AHMC is a nightmare. Dirty hospital unkept, beds are dirty.
google avatar

Yelp
We were told this was another hospital in need so we contacted the Director of Materials Management to coordinate an appropriate time to drop-off what we have collected, raised, and bought. I'm struggling now. I'm working from home and playing 2nd grade teacher along w/ everything else I have going on (online classes, reading, working out, etc.) but no amount can be compared to what everyone working at any hospital is going through now. Thank you for allowing us to come by and for the wonderful recognition.

Cynthia B.

Yelp
Absolutely the worst hospital. Discharged an elderly mentally ill family member to her home who is completely delusional and unable to take care of herself properly. Failed to file conservatorship papers on time even though they said the doctor would sign them and they all felt she should not be discharged home and then did exactly that. Absolute complete negligence!!! Horrific! Social worker named Remy is worthless and should be fired! Doctors failed to protect my family member and don't care one bit what happens to her. Stay away! 0 stars
google avatar

Joe C.

Yelp
I entered the medical facilities for an emergency and the services that I received at every level was highly professional and I received quality care from all of the staff at every level. The treatment that I received was humanely provided. I was impressed with the diversity of staff members who showed a high level of compassion and professionalism.

Maria B.

Yelp
Take to Damm long in the emergency! No patients what so ever I've been here since 9:37 it is current 12:37 and I'll we came in was for a congestion!
google avatar

Ria N.

Yelp
My experience was better during this reluctant visit due to it being the closest E.R. What I did not like and have great concerns about is the possible breach of HIPPA privacy there with each patient privy to others private and medical information discussed behind draw curtain away from the next patient. Not great if your nextdoor or backyard neighbors are in the next bed. The attending physician sounded like doctor Phill! A white male visitor was allowed to incessantly talk at an annoying loud volume for at least two hours nonstop while I and other actual patients who were trying to rest and recouperte from various maladies were held captive audience to this man's annoying loud uninteresting stories. While walking down the hall with a gown on carrying a half full container of urine I was asked by a unfamiliar nurse if I were already discharged and leaving?? This poor older latino guy on a gurney parked in the hallway was yelling for updates on his condition to no avail. When I passed him in the hallway he managed to smile at me Aww which elevated my disgust with how he was being treated.

Yelp
Don't come here unless you absolutely have to. I came here in August because it was the closest hospital to where I was at, and it's taken them over 5 months to bill me for everything. I have called the hospital, their billing office, and anyone I could get a number too and no one has any information. Now finally, in January, it looks like they billed my insurance, and I should be getting the final bill soon... No one has any answers for any of your questions, the staff seem completely clueless. They give you the run around and have you play phone tag calling a bunch of people but no one has any answers for you. The only bill I got I paid for, and they did't even charge my credit card until 4 months later? In December, I got a call from a lady in their billing office In LA, asking if I had paid that bill, and I told her I paid right away. What were they doing with the envelope for 4 entire months? Are they really that disorganized??? I am still waiting for the hospital bill..... The nurse almost forgot to take out the IV before I was discharged... The doctor and the CT tech were great. This hospital is also super old and grungey inside, I wanted to get out of there after I was already admitted. please do not come here unless you ABSOLUTELY have to.

Joseph P.

Yelp
Horrible rooms. No aircon. The shades don't block the light. Rooms are dusty and none of them have TV. Also the help is too understaffed so service sucks also.

Mia M.

Yelp
0 Rating, my grandma just passed away last friday. They wouldn't help her when she would call for help. They would not clean her up good while leaving water on her throat, wouldnt check up on her Get this place gone!!! They said she would live another five yesrs theyre LIES!!!

David S.

Yelp
This medical facility is a one star according to the Medicare website. The emergency room room doctor is buffoon and cannot be bothered to do a pain management evaluation. Cannot get get a second opinion because she is the only e.d. doctor. Ahmc is running this place like a third world medical facility. My advice is to go to anywhere else than Ahmc medical facility. Also there's advocates that fight for your medical rights. First one is the ombudsman services in San Mateo county 1 650 780 5703 California state licensing board 1 650 330 5703. Both of these entities are paid by our tax dollars and work for you. In my opinion stay away from F.A. Lelenta one of the worst doctors I've ever dealt with.

Kat N.

Yelp
The staff and care of this hospital is excellent. Very little wait time in ER. Check in was quick. Staff were personable, compassionate, and efficient. CT scan reading was prompt. A good ending to a scary mishap. Thank you Seton.

Yelp
Here with my poor mom starving waiting for her appointment. The place is a dump and people are slow. Worry if they even know what the heck they are doing.
google avatar

Rihnei N.

Yelp
Every experience at Seton has been met with compassionate and empathetic staff, all the doctors and nurses are very kind and listen. I appreciate the eye contact and patience. The staff the registered me at ER are also kind and efficient. ER has always been a positive experience. Thank you Seton ER.

Yelp
I came from urgent care. They did a urinalysis and they couldn't do other test they needed to and they referred me to go to ER. I went to Seton ER. I told them what had happened, the doctor even said how do I know that I had blood in my urine. Im not sure where the disconnect was, but obviously if she was paying attention, she should have heard I had a urinalysis at urgent care and further test couldn't be done and thus I was at the ER. She only ordered urinalysis since I didn't have any symptoms. I only had blood in my urine. Around 12:30 they moved me to a different room. A new patient came and I was told that I was going to be discharged soon. I didn't understand why. Around 1:00 the doctor came to my room and said yes I have blood in my urine and I needed to see my primary. I get that. She basically wanted to discharge she asked me if I wanted to do the CT scan and gave an impression too much CT scan is not good for the body. In my head, why did I come to the ER only to be discharged after the same test I had in urgent care. It didn't make sense. She asked me if I wanted to do the scan. She should not have asked and just ordered it the time I came in since I told them I had history of kidney stones. What I felt was, in her mind I didn't have symptoms and confirmed what I had with a urinalysis and go back to my primary. The issue was at the time is I needed to know if I was okay. Why would she asked if I wanted a CT am I doctor to decide on that. She gets paid to make decisions like that. Of she doesn't like taking care of patients, she should do a different practice. Be a research doctor, or a coroner. After my scan, the nurse came by and gave me a medicine, I asked her what it was I was taking, I didn't know why they were giving me that. They probably saw something in the scan. The nurse asked if the doctor cam by. I said she didn't. The nurse discharged me without getting any explanation of what the scan was. That is part of her job, that is what she gets paid to do. The nurse read the impression on the paper and couldn't explain more on what was written. Please be cautious if you go to their ER. They do not care to take care of you there and just want to discharge you and get paid. This is the first and last time I will go to their ER department.

Yelp
I was transported from nearby urgent care to Seton Medical Center via ambulance after a surfing accident in which my palm is pierced by my surfing fins. I was pulsing blood and did not lose consciousness. However, despite waiting 20-30 minutes in the hallway, I was quoted a level 5 ER (there are only 5 levels with 5 being on the brink of death) even though I waited 30 minutes in the lobby. For a cut, 6 stitches, and no blood transfusion. I was charged 15k by the hospital, excluding physician fees, and excluding a doctor in southern California who "read" my x-ray. This is my first time, so please excuse me for not knowing that I would get 3 separate bills for 1 ER visit. Oh did I mention the "ambulance Uber" lol, sirens off and rolling up the hill for 5 minutes. The doctor was amazing, she saved my hand and from loads of pain. The nurses were wonderful and were definitely overworked. Especially after COVID, my appreciation for healthcare workers has only increased. However, going to the ER is like opening your bank account in the middle of the Tenderloin. And I am not sure if this is a healthcare problem or a Seton problem.

Alrabeea H.

Yelp
Worst experience ever, long wait all the workers disrespecting the patience. Can't help you with anything, we asked for a water and they said they don't have any, I was shocked about that service they provided us and looking at the reviews now am not the only one who said that about the service. This hospital should be shut down because how dirty it is.

Allyson M.

Yelp
This place is clearly struggling in a lot of ways, but the nursing staff is one of the best I've ever seen. Shout out to Matthew and Andrew and Vanessa in the ER and Renesssa and Esther and everybody on the sixth floor, it's an under resourced and understaffed place but with a lot of really caring and smart individuals. Bless you for the work that you do and may you find success in everything you do in the future you guys.

Yelp
This review is for the emergency room at Seton. 2 weeks ago I was cooking dinner and sliced my index and middle finger so I ran to the emergency as soon as possible. I waited for about 2 1/2 hours, but eventually was seen & got stitched up by Deborah & Drue came in to give my my tetanus. Both of them were so kind & lovely! I could tell right away that both truly care about their patients & manage to have a smile on their faces along with small talk to keep my worried mind at ease. Thank you to them both!
google avatar

Kev H.

Yelp
My first impression was this place wasn't too busy. It also had an overall clean look, although the building looked kinda old. But I guess it wouldn't matter, cause people don't come here to check out the building. A family member of mine had a room here and the room looked okay, clean, but the cabinets looked slightly dirty and old. But I did like the fact that it was quiet and not too noisy, and it had different equipment to meet patients' needs such as a massager, etc. Overall, this place offered a good place for people to convalesce.
google avatar

Jasmine G.

Yelp
No one speaks or understands English. I do understand that due to the demographic the staff should be able communicate with patients. But its very discouraging to come here as a patient or as a family member of a patient. When there is a communication barrier so great that you fear your needs wont be met And the ER staff doesnt communicate with staff in other parts of the hospital.

Nate M.

Yelp
An embarrassment to medicine. DO NOT come to the Emergency Room located here at AHMC. If medical staff and faculty at an ER cannot appropriately tend to patients in a promptly manner and lack the ability to show empathy when an elderly person walks through the door bleeding clots out of her mouth...do not simply "wait" in the lobby...find another hospital. Prior to getting chewed out by a doctor on staff here outside the facility (for deciding to relocate), there were patients in the lobby who warned us to go elsewhere. That in itself is evident and says something: be better.

Kim L.

Yelp
This hospital has very nice nurses and the service is very excellent. All the nurse treats very helpful and nice. I recommend to everyone. They make me feel very comfortable and I appreciate them. thank you Seton.

Yelp
Like other reviewers said AVOID THIS ER IF YOU CAN. My father waited in the ER for SEVEN HOURS before being seen by a doctor. There was one doctor for maybe 20 patients. Nurses didn't want to help either and told us to just wait for the doctor. The doctor only eventually saw my father once we told the nurses we were going to transfer to another ER.

Yelp
Seton aka SATAN HOSPITAL Do not be fooled, other than for receiving Covid and trauma patients (which I doubt their capability with the latter) this dangerous place definitely needs to be shut down. Apparently morals, integrity and professionalism are no longer employment requirements here. The E.R night staff some can be real ghouls. Staff openly discusses the private business of other patients and their sentiments about these patients. E.R. staff openly curses during their loud conversations. Staff walks around ignoring call lights. Nurses take 2 hour lunches apparently without having another cover their patients. Always check on your loved ones here. I witnessed no sterilization procedures practiced in my room during or after my visit. Discharged but unstable patients are left alone by the unattended security station at the E.R exit door. It's not the hospital, it's the quality of people that are hired.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars to this place I would. Worst service ever. If you have an emergency DO NOT go to this place. I went yesterday night because I was feeling bad and the way they treat their patients is awful. They made me wait hours in the waiting room before I was asked to step into an examination room. Once in the room, they asked me to take my clothes off and wear a gown for nothing. They did not perform a physical exam on me, and when the nurse finally went inside the room, he stayed there for approximately 2 minutes and didn't show interest when I was explaining my symptoms. He said i was going to be given medicine for my pain and left. An one hour later, another person arrived with 2 pills and left. Another hour went by before they came to check on me again and asked if I wanted to stay or go home. I was extremely upset at the treatment I was given and the indifference I felt, so I decided to go home. I did not feel cared for, so I asked them discharged me. While I understand the ER is usually crowded, here It wasn't. All the personnel in duty was across from my room making fun and speaking awful about all the patients. We all have rough days but when you choose a profession in the medical field, everyone deserves to be treated with respect and cared for. If not, you are definitely in wrong place.

Yelp
The WORST Emergency Staff!!!! even while I was getting registered, the triage nurse told the back office staff to put me in a specific room since "she will be out quick". she wasnt the doctor yet they already predicted they would NOT be helping me. True to word, the doctor came and told me they don't do X-rays or MRI's so nothing they could do. Meanwhile my knee is blown out twice the size and I left the ER limping. Seton Hospital SUCKS!!!!!

Yelp
Overseeing staff should go there as patients and see the treatment for themselves... And I really hope the State of California gets involved to help the situation because this should not be the norm.

Yelp
The GI Clinic nursing crew are amazing! I had an endoscopy today - they made the experience feel like a morning at the spa. They were all so charming and nice. I really wish I had their names to credit here. Thank you Seton!
