Ahong Restaurant

One of the authentic taste of chinese food in Bandung. Don't look the interior of restaurant but taste the food. They are all delicious.

Between Ahong and Mandarin... both are equally good. Classic Kang Kung hotplate dish is their signature. Had them since the 80s and they still around. Super sizzling hot ironcast, slices of beef, quail eggs, fresh Kang Kung and oyster sauce, on a cool bandung night... imagine that... cool air, hot plate kang kung dish, family. Simple yet rewarding, never ever fails. This is the dish that made my kid started eating vegetables. Woooot... Parking could be a huge challenge. 50m after railway entrance, stick to the left most lane, slow down, signal left to park. Ambience brings you back to the 70s, 80s chinese resto... calendars on the wall, condiments on the tables, spoon is wrap in pink paper tissue (twisted).

One of the oldest chinese resto in bandung if i am not wrong...and one of the best i might add. Been here many times and has never been disappointed.. the place is abit rundown but it gives you a feeling that you are back in the old days, which help makes the food taste better i guess.. there is another resto next door that serve similar food and popular as well.

For those who wish to try the authentic and traditional indo-chinese food, this is indeed the place ! the moment you step into the restaurant, it brings back old memories. Menu is typical traditional indo-chinese food eg : capcay goreng, ayam cah jamur, ayam kuluyuk, ayam/cumi/kodok goreng mentega, gurame asam manis/tausi, etc. Highly recommended when you visit Bandung. Location is just 10 min walk from Stasiun Bandung or Hilton Bandung. btw, please bring small notes for the busker. if you are lucky, you may be visited up to 3-4 times throughout your meal :)

For anyone craving chinese food, this is the place. Good taste, a bit pricy tho. Lots of options to pick.

Delicious food, big portion, the price is cheaper than other Chinese Food restaurant in the same level. The waiter is friendly and gives a good service. The place is vintage, like in the 90s. Overall, I would like to recommend this restaurant.

Oh my goodness this place has the best taste for Chinese foods. I don't understand why there's a person gave lower stars cz of the low ceiling and ventilation stuff. He didn't understand about typical old Chinese restaurants like in Hong Kong and China. This restaurant has a real atmosphere of Chinese foodie surroundings and it's like that. So reckless of giving review. I'll always go here when I go to Bandung!
