I called them crying and desperate for help and they said due to me not being privileged enough of having my disability documented before the age of 21 they wouldn’t help me.

A bunch of wicked people. They don’t care about the employees safety. My sister was pregnant working here and was in danger working in one of the homes because one of the residents liked to hit people she called a woman named Rosa to switch her residence and she got a attitude with her on the phone told her not to go back and that she will call her back to place her somewhere else soon. It’s Been almost a year still no call back so she just left a pregnant woman without a job knowing that she would’ve needed the money the most a wicked company run while you still can

This company promise a lot but don't give much. I am waiting for services to get for my son 2 years and they just change employee who work on your case, luck of help, missing papers, lying, this company you can't trust and you not getting help from them. They have very good Internet site beside that they can offer nothing just waiting and waiting.

This is the best place for individuals with special needs. My oldest son Ahmed was interviewed here to go into their camp Anne program. I am so blessed, that he got accepted and will be going this year. I love AHRC. They are so professional in all they do.

Have no complaints really. Maybe just one..But I'll get to that later. I've visited this place a few times.. Its clean , bright and warm... Now im not sure if its a pregnant thing.. But my childs evaluator seemed a little cranky.. I was cringing the whole time with her..

This place is one of the best in the world, and also happy 75th anniversary to ahrc new york city founded by Ann Greenberg.

My young adult son has attended AHRC's Camp Anne for the last four summers and he loves it. He talks about it during the winter and asks when he'll return. It's a wonderful experience for him and for us. My son also attended the AHRC Middle High School for several years and it was the best school experience we found for him in NYC - not perfect, but good. Thumbs up, especially for Camp Anne, where the managers and staff are awesome!

I am waiting for 2 half years to get my son in the program. In the last month i have dealt with very rude disrespectful staff and barley wanted to listen or speak to me, she even didn’t want to give me any information or tell me the right person to speak too or give me a number. All she was telling me you have to speak to someone else and not to me and i don’t know who you have to speak too. Leaving messages doesn’t help they don’t return my calls. Speaking to supervisor doesn’t help he gave the worker phone number and told me call back next week cause she isn’t in. So far i got lil help from one person Raquel but all she could do is just taking and giving me some info.

Yelp
I resigned from this agency, I just would not trust the care of my love ones within this agency. Very unprofessional. Some staff are not qualified or trained. Some administrators are good and a few are terrible. Staff who leave clients unattended are not suspended or reprimanded, I would not trust them to be providing care for my love ones. Staff also eat most of their food and give them little food, when brought to managers attention it was ignored because they are part of the problem as well. I could not work for this organization no longer.

Yelp
AHRC took compassionate, devoted care of my sister (who had Down Syndrome) for almost a decade, from right after our father died in 2010 to when she passed away this summer. She lived in a couple of AHRC facilities, and the staff in both were absolutely wonderful.

Yelp
i live in an apt building where the AHRC has a group home. One of the residents of the AHRC smokes in the hallway (even tho there are non smoking signs) and when i politely called and complained about it, the lady who answered the phone got angry at me and hung up.

Yelp
They're ok, they have many services but sometimes the wait period is quite a number of years, which is not helpful sometimes. There was a lady there who scheduled appointments for evaluations and she was the rudest person i have ever spoken to. But she recently got fired due to parents complaining and sending a letter to the big bosses. And like Peter M said, the word retarded in its name is not exactly the best. as in AH"R"C, R standing for retarded. This is why they never spell out their name anymore.

Yelp
Very unprofessional, attended a group interview, it well might I add, I even called to follow up and was told I got the job and that I should be looking for a phone call within the following day or so, got the call from Craig Becker and was told that I should receive a call no later than Monday ( he called on Friday) , he called me by mistake and I answered and told him that I had not heard from anyone, he assured me that a Christina would be calling me today ( which is Monday). it is now 5:00pm and I haven't received a call. If you're looking for a hiring process that takes 2 months ( everyone has bills to pay so I'm sure thats a big no for you as well) then this is your job, however don't waste your time applying , because you will def be playing the waiting game. worst company I have ever interview with.
