"If food enhanced by wine (or vice-versa) is your thing, you will fit in just fine at AhSo. We feature a constantly changing a la carte menu in addition to our famous “Micro Wine Dinners,” small, themed tasting menus with beverage pairings that can be enjoyed by as few as two guests or an entire table. This allows us to really take advantage of the products we source, as well as the great wines the world has to offer."

"Stylish AhSo is worth a stop in suburban Brambleton. The menu changes almost every day based on what’s available, but expect modern American with a touch of international flair. Think crispy wild boar ribs with gochujang, ginger garlic pork sausage with sticky rice, and prime rib with crab beignets. Nightly tasting menus are also available. Order online for curbside pickup or delivery." - Aparna Krishnamoorthy

My family and I have been regular customers of Ahso since they first opened and have referred more family/friends than you can imagine. The food and drinks are always amazing and we love trying their new seasonal dishes. However, after our visit yesterday, we left quite disappointed in the service. Our waiter and bartender seemed to not give us the same care and attention as other neighboring tables and we felt like we were being treated differently in a bad way. Not sure if it had to do with our race or if these were new staff because we usually have great service (especially from the few staff who recognize us as regulars), but after yesterday’s experience, we were left with a sour taste in our mouth.

What a beautiful experience Pretty much everything we tried were the very first time having the mix of ingredients in a plate and yes... It worked deliciously right. The drinks paring suggested was on point. Can't wait to get back there and try some more.

Had an amazing milestone birthday celebration at Ahso with 8 friends in their private dining room! From start to finish, the experience was seamless. The team was incredibly responsive and easy to work with during the planning process, and they were very accommodating when it came to decorating the space for our special occasion. The food was delicious as usual - I love how they keep their offerings fresh with seasonal menu changes, so there's always something new to try alongside their consistently excellent dishes. Throughout the evening, the staff and managers were attentive and professional, checking on our table regularly to make sure everything was perfect. S/O to Christian, Phil, Holly, & Bruno. Chef Jason even took the time to give us a warm personal farewell at the end of the night, which was such a thoughtful touch. The private room was the perfect size for our group of 9 ladies, and the whole experience has me already thinking about hosting future events here. Highly recommend Ahso for anyone looking for excellent service, delicious food, and a great venue for celebrations!

A Hidden Gem in Brambleton – Intimate, Elevated, and Absolutely Delicious My husband and I recently visited Ahso Restaurant in Ashburn (Brambleton) for a date night, and it was truly an amazing experience from start to finish. While the location itself isn’t large, it offers a cozy, intimate vibe that’s perfect for a relaxed yet elevated evening out. The service was warm and attentive, the wine selection was fantastic, and every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and creativity. I opted for the 5-course pairing (without the wine tasting), and I genuinely loved every dish that came to the table. Each course was thoughtfully prepared and presented, showcasing both technique and bold flavor combinations. My husband went with a different entrée—the house-made linguine with duck tenders—and it was equally impressive. Rich, comforting, and beautifully executed. We were pleasantly surprised with two chef’s tasting gifts during the meal: the first was a pork chorizo tartare served in a crispy chickpea cup, which was such a unique and delicious bite. The second was a refreshing and delightful house-made raspberry sherbet—a perfect little palate cleanser to end the night. For my cocktail, I tried the "No THYM.E to Waste"—a cucumber- and gin-based drink with prosecco. It was light, crisp, and incredibly refreshing. A perfect match for the evening’s menu. We made early reservations around 5:00 PM on a Saturday, and by the time we were wrapping up around 6:30, the restaurant was already filling up fast. So if you're planning a visit (which you absolutely should), I highly recommend making a reservation. Overall, AhSo is a true hidden gem in Brambleton. Whether you're celebrating something special or just want an unforgettable night out, this place delivers on all fronts—ambience, service, creativity, and flavor. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Google
Really great spot, one of the nicer sit down restaurants in Brambleton. Staff were wonderful. We ordered the goat cheese dip, branzino, pork chop, and split a bread pudding, all were excellent. Also worth mentioning the menu was clearly marked for nuts and other allergies. Will be coming back for brunch.

Cozy date night with spectacular service. Everything we ordered was just great. You can't go wrong. That's the server. If you have any questions they're very helpful. You will need a reservation bt it's not a very big place

Google
Visited Ahso for dinner and had a great time. The restaurant atmosphere is great, clean and new with contemporary style. The menu is small and simple, with creative dishes and locally-sourced meat and vegetables. The wait staff is incredible attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. The food was incredible, familiar dishes with a unique twist and outstanding flavors. Excellent place for a date, anniversary, or fancy night out.

Yelp
I have visited this location two times: a Saturday evening and Saturday morning. The ambiance was quite different during both visits. Saturday evening, it was packed and they have great lighting to set the mood. Saturday morning, it wasn't busy at all, maybe 4 parties were there in the 4 hours we dined. Their menu constantly changes, I believe it is a weekly basis. Service is exceptional at the restaurant. My second visit was with Hailey, who was very attentive and friendly. For the Saturday evening visit, I ordered the the Lamb shoulder Roulade with the Barrel Aged O.G., both were just AMAZING. We ordered a Charcuterie and cheese board to share as well. For the Saturday menu, they offered two options: a Prix Fixe menu and the regular menu. We chose the Prix Fixe option, which included the following for $36/person: a tray of assorted baked goods, yogurt & fruit, home fries and one entree (we chose the Hanger Steak & Eggs). This was just phenomenal food for this price! The chef prepared my steak exactly as requested, well done. The only one thing I didn't care for was the amount of salt on everything, I would order my food to either be unsalted or lightly salted next time. The restaurant is located across from the library, at the corner of the shopping mall. There are some parking spots in the front...for those who know how to parallel park! Otherwise, there is a parking garage around the corner.

Yelp
We were very excited to try out Ahso after hearing such great things about their unique menu, but we left with confusion and disappointment. Not sure what the hype is all about, the food was not great and the ambiance of the restaurant isn't great either. For appetizers we got the Gochujang Pork ribs and Brussel Sprouts caesar salad. Both items were overly salty. The gochujang ribs were basked in a salty black sauce. There was no gochujang flavor. The kimchi pieces it came with had a slight acidity to it so it helped, and honestly tasted better than the ribs. The effort to create asian fusion here failed. The brussels sprouts caesar salad dressing was very salty, didn't really taste anything else. For main entrees we got the New York Strip and Seared Halibut. The New York Strip was ordered to be cooked at medium rare. It was very tough. Not prime quality for MORE than the price of an amazing juicy NY Strip steak from a high end steak restaurant (i.e. capital grille). There were other items on the dish like king oyster mushroom and creamed spinach that, again tasted better than the steak. The king oyster had a weird rubbery taste to it, maybe because it was grilled. But they made one of the best tasting mushrooms, dry, tough and just not taste good. The Seared halibut was okay. It's fish. Nothing special. It was bathed in a tomato-type gravy, which gave it the flavor. The risotto tasted great. For dessert, we got the brioche bread pudding. It was very sweet with something bitter, very odd taste. It was very moist though. I will give the presentation of the food an A+. Overall, it seems they are trying too hard to make the presentation of food look amazing and trying to incorporate a lot of elements into the dishes that just take away from the star of the dish. And the reoccuring theme is the side items on the dish tasted better than what I actually ordered. The ambiance of the restaurant is no where near high-end for the prices that were charged. Additionally, there was no bread service.

Yelp
The food was very good, but our overall experience suffered from what can only be described as bad timing. My wife, mom & I had reservations for Easter brunch, but apparently, we got one of the few remaining slots late in the last shift, and it was pretty clear that everyone wanted to go home. While that's certainly understandable on a major holiday, keeping us waiting for a half hour before even asking if we'd like to place a drink order seems counterintuitive. It should be noted that Ahso wasn't that crowded when we arrived (maybe a quarter to a third full), and by the time we left, there were only two other tables. We actually had to flag down a member of the wait staff to get our order in (by this time, we were pretty famished), and it took another 10 minutes or so for the (prix fix standard) first course of warm croissants, biscuits, and small fruit squares -- all delicious -- to arrive. Our original server left before we were done, so one of her colleagues helpfully stepped in. They were both quite nice, and I think may have realized that they had dropped the ball (maybe table assignments weren't clear?), such that the second server did go to some lengths to ensure that we had everything we needed. Everyone in our party really enjoyed the meal, and the kitchen did a fine job in terms of quality ingredients, preparation, and presentation. One other concern came with the check, which included an automatic 20% tip (for a party of 3), then appeared to have added tax to THAT amount ( ! ), then provided another line for a tip. I'm sure there's many a diner who's missed the fact that they've already tipped, and not been given a choice in the matter. While we normally would have added an additional amount for particularly good service and/or the staff working on a holiday, the buzzkill of the long wait after being seated and the "auto tip plus how about a tip?" billing put a damper on what would otherwise have been a very fine meal. We'll give 'em another shot, just not on a holiday!

Yelp
Having just dined at very best restaurants in Charleston/Savannah's Husk, the Grey, CQ, Bouchon or Curate in Asheville, among many greats, this place near my house (exactly a mile away from my house) and in which I walked my Border Collie almost daily, surprised me in many happy ways! I made reservation and met my hubby here for lunch on 2/23/2024, and kept my mind open for anything. And this place did not disappoint - it met each and every expectations I had of a place. First off, that it was close to my place, second, that food was up to par with other top rated restaurants, and finally, that the place itself was stylishly modern with open airy space and well-adorned walls of wines on display. I also like that there is a section that was more intimate and private for large group yet perfectly situated that it's still so central to the place and provide great ambience! I am thinking of gathering my closest friends for a feast and drinks here soon! And more importantly that it has virtuous bar visible from very angle of the main dining area, for when you just happen to pop in here unexpectedly! I was greeted adequately and welcomed I supposed as I checked in the lady at reception as if expecting me "under J" ushered me in. She gave me the best table by the window and shortly there after, Janith, the server came with two bottles of tap water. Janith, by all accounts looked very young or perhaps he's just lucky to have favorable genes, was polite and has a quiet demeanor but attentive manner, and he attended to our needs pleasantly! I ordered the burger- medium, which had bacon jam and aged cheddar over arugula & dijon aioli complimented the meat so perfectly! It was harmonious as each bite was so tasty, I could not stopped saying it "was sooo good!" The burger plate came with a small side of salad sweet lettuce, pickled onion and very light but flavorful dressing - what was it? I could not get enough of it and suddenly forgot I had a very good burger still in front of me- had to take a breather from and returned to after I finished that very refreshing and flavorful salad. This plate also came with rustic potatoes, fried but not greasy. In all, this burger dish is kicking some previous favorites to the curve for its place as number 1 burger on my list, err, I will let it sink in a bit... Looking at the menu, I recommended to my darling husband to order either the Bronzino or Baby Green Salad with either chicken or shrimp for these are the ones that have the least carb and more friendly to his current (attempt at diet with no carbs or low carbs). He decided on the latter after I pushed him just enough to to it. And yet, this Bronzino was cooked perfectly over cauliflower couscous, with small pieces of Brussels sprouts, toasted almonds, orange, cranberry with brown butter emulsion - I mean, how can you go wrong with brown butter! He delved into that Bronzino gloriously and was very satisfied with his choice! The entire dish was inventive and "Instagram picture worthy", as he claimed he "do[es] not do social media" lol. Both the burger and bronzino were flavorful, and their accompanying ingredients worked really well with the protein. It was inventive and imaginative not only that it was full of flavor but also that it's presentation was top notch! Reminded me of a few Michelin restaurants I dined in - this place was up there with them! I can't wait to try another item on the menu, so glad I don't have to drive very far...Big kudos to the chef and his team, really well done!

Yelp
I booked on line, letting them know it was my sister's birthday. When we got there, there was a lovely note on our reserved table, greeting us and the birthday girl. Each of the dishes we ordered had a tremendous depth of flavor. The muscle/mushroom Tom Kha soup was incredible. Again, the layers of flavor were just tremendous. The spaghetti and meatballs! You'd never know there was no spaghetti or meat in the meatballs. The tomato sauce and cream sauce were so rich and delicious with Parmesan crisps and lentil meatballs. I did not miss the meat at all, barely noticed it wasn't there. For dessert, they gave her a candle with her lemoncello spheres. It was a festive ending to a lovely evening and a delicious dinner. The staff were attentive, but not intrusive. The whole evening was a delight.

Yelp
We had an outstanding experience at Ahso! The service was impeccable, and the seared scallops, grilled halibut, and pan seared duck breast were all exquisite. The cocktails were amazing as well. Would definitely be going back!

Yelp
One of my favorite go-tos near or far my home. The food is always delicious and cocktails and wines don't disappoint! Always friendly staff and it's cozy enough for date night or bright enough for Sunday brunch or lunch on the patio.

Yelp
A pretty good restaurant for the price point! Started off with the Raspberry "No"jito and it was very tasty and refreshing - was trying not to down it all at once! The burrata mozzarella was pretty good too with the crunchy bread and beet. The veal chop was great too, with a good savory flavour and cooked well. The veggies that go with it complimented well. Although, I didn't necessarily think the cream spinach dish that came with it goes along with the veal, but it is rather tasty on its own. Overall a good restaurant to have a nice time at. My only complaint is that I was seated right in front of the door so the cold wind kept blowing in and I was cold! Staff was pretty attentive too but there were sometimes they left before I could finish what I was saying.

Linnea H.

Yelp
I enjoyed a nice weeknight dinner here with one other person. There's a wine bar next door owned by the same folks, but there's also a separate bar space in this restaurant if you're going for apps and drinks only. We took full advantage of their in-house sommelier by asking for a recommendation. We settled on a vibrant Rhône style red, which is a Grenache blend. It was delicious! We also shared the toasted camembert for an app and the branzino for an entree. Each dish was delicious and the service was excellent. Parking was easy in the nearby garage, as well. I hope to visit again soon!

Yelp
My sister and I came for happy hour and stayed due to the wonderful service of our bartender named Phil.

Yelp
Amazing food. The drinks are amazing. Staff goes above and beyond and even wrote out a recipe for my husband when he raved about the eggnog. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable.

Yelp
We brought my mom here to celebrate her birthday in March. We booked our reservation online and noted that we were here for her birthday and she was so tickled that they had printed "Happy Birthday" on the menus. This place is upscale, without being stuffy. I felt comfortable wearing nice jeans, and at no time did I feel like I didn't belong. My mom enjoys whiskey, and our server (I wish I remembered his name, he was great) helped her pick a great one that she had never had before. She was thrilled. Every single thing we ate we were well informed about by our waiter and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The craft cocktails are all so good, too. The menu is small and changes regularly, so don't go expecting to get the same thing twice. The ingredient quality is wonderful. We were too full for dessert, but they finished our whole experience with a sparkler for my mom to blow out. So lovely!

Craig T.

Yelp
Food was great as was the service. Friendly service staff and great mixed drinks! Love the layout of the bar.

Rebe G.

Yelp
Thank you for making my friend Julie's birthday and first time to Ahso an amazing experience. The menus on our table said Happy Birthday Julie and she received a personal card from Chef Jason and the team. Our meal was equally delish! Crispy Brussels sprouts, warm feta cheese dip with extra bread (nice touch!). We tried the Duck, short ribs and bronzini. Perfect sized meals! We ordered two desserts (the king of rock & roll and the bread pudding) and they brought out a third for Julie's birthday (the flourless chocolate cake) which was soo yummy! Super fun night at Ahso!

Gautam M.

Yelp
Great food, drinks, and service. Local gem and highly recommended. Note, their menu change daily.

Yelp
I really wanted to give this place a five-star review. I've had some of the best bites of food here, followed by some of the most disappointing dishes. My wife and I came here for our 10-year anniversary and we got the four course meal. This was a very expensive meal, and was ultimately a let down. The first two courses (bruschetta and scallops) were amazing. I loved every bite I took. Next up was the steak course. The meat was overcooked and the sauce was too salty. The dessert was terrible. It looked like it was inspired by one of the chef's kids lunchbox that sat in the sun too long. A peach, on top of granola with moldy cheese (okay it was blue cheese, I'm making it sound worse than it was). Honestly it wasn't that bad of a taste, it just wasn't a dessert. The final nail in the coffin was the portion size. It was very small. We literally had to go out to eat after this meal, which is a real shame after we've paid so much for a meal. If the final two courses were as good as the first two, this place would easily be a five-star review.

Marcus M.

Yelp
Great restaurant with great food for any occasion. Reserve the private room for parties if you can.

Yelp
I wanted to write a small novel about our experience at Ahso last night. Be warned. It's long. For those who know me, I'm never one to struggle with words. I'm trying to write a review, but I keep feeling like I'm selling this experience short. It was, by far, the best culinary experience I've had in my life. If you want a short review, you can stop here. Go. You will NOT be disappointed by the food, staff, or location. For those of you who want to read a Tolkien novel, proceed. Our evening first began with a sour review I dropped of one of Jason's former restaurants that had fallen quite precipitously from its former glory. Jason saw it and offered us a dining experience at Ahso. It would have been both rude and stupid to say "no." I made reservations for Wednesday, December 7th because I had already made plans for the subsequent Saturday and didn't want to lose my deposit. Pre-meal, I contacted Ahso about having some champagne ready for when we got there. The hostess then offered customized menus and other festivities for my wife. Again, I was astonished at how gracious the staff of a post-COVID restaurant was. When we arrived, everything was set up and the server, Crupp, made sure we had our bubbly immediately. Jason and the staff had also taken time to write and sign a card for my wife's promotion, which... wow. Crupp then told us to enjoy the drinks and he'd come start our dinner when we were done. We were never rushed, but never ignored. The service staff's attention was literally perfection. I'll break down the food and drinks by course: * The Burrata Mozzarella was what I was least excited about given than cranberries are good for kidneys and sad presents. THIS, however, turned out to be one of my favorite meals. The cranberry relish was like a magic jam and paired so well with the toast, which was still quite warm! The mozzarella just tied it together. * The second course was Roasted Kabocha Squash Soup. I know that butternut squad is native to the Americas, but I've never had a chef try to CELEBRATE this in a dish. Jason's soup had a tangy, limey smoke flavor that was killer. This soup took me back to a (legit) Mexican restaurant I loved back in Austin. * The third course was Waygu Beef Cheek Bolognese. Have you ever had a meal that will stick in your mind until you no longer can consume solid food? My wife and I had a truffle pasta in Florence that was (previously) the "if you had a last meal, what would it be." This pasta met or exceeded it. A bite of the beef/pasta/truffle foam was simply heaven in your mouth. I want this as a full course. Every. Day. * The fourth course was a Roasted Duck Breast. It was cooked perfectly with beautifully rendered fat. A bite with some beets and candied walnut was incredible... and my wife doesn't even like duck! The tortellini were ridiculous, especially with a slice of the beet. * The final course was a Bourbon Brioche Bread Pudding. I'm not a dessert person, but I loved this. It was warm, citrusy, and not overly sweet. Had it not been the apex of "Chris, you're being a rude child," I'd have licked the damn plate of the citrus anglaise. Ahso's staff made us feel at home. We discussed trips, food, booze, and ever Star Wars! Our experience last night did not feel like a patron and staff, but dinner amongst friends. My wife and I are foodies. We've been to several Michelin star restaurants in our travels and absolutely adore places where chefs can/do produce food from their heart. My wife and I have been searching for a "go-to" place since moving from New Orleans and I think we've found it. Thank you to Jason, your staff, and everyone who made this evening possible. There is no way I can think of to repay your kindness, save ensuring that Ahso's customer base expands and you get the attention/praise your business deserves. Did I miss anything, Mary Lou?

Phil B.

Yelp
We were walking by and saw this restaurant and decided to try it out. It didn't start well . The sauce on our goat cheese app had so much salt it wasn't edible, comparable to a salt lick. Our asparagus dish was made up of asparagus stocks only with a sprig of micro arugula. The beef bouruignon was good but by no means outstanding. Even the table water was off, perhaps the filter needs a change. After our app was removed so was the cutlery and the main course was served but we had to wait 5 minutes to get utensils to while our food was getting cold. Overall we weren't impressed.

Kristin R.

Yelp
Very unique food and a great culinary experience. I believe they've expanded their hours beyond dinner only. Great food, and great staff. Seating is a little uncomfortable for a long chat (just smaller tables and wood chairs) but nothing to keep you from enjoying your meal. It's an intimate atmosphere so no huge booths and private areas, but the food is great.

Linda B.

Yelp
8/5/2023 - Oh my...this was our very first time here! We had brunch here and this was the very first time my friend and I had ever eaten here! It was a wonderful experience to say the least! Upon arrival, the hostess sat us down with a very warm welcome for our brunch and then we were approached by our amazing server, Bruno, who was just PHENOMENAL with everything!! This was a price fixed brunch and it was EXCELLENT!! It was $36 per person, which is not bad at all, and the portions are huge!! We were told by the hostess the brunch was just brought back about two months ago so please return there, people!! It's worth it!! We ordered the smoked pork belly & avocado toast and seared sea scallop & grits for our brunch meals and we also got the croissants 2 ways with buttermilk biscuits, strawberry marmalade, whipped butter, fruit mix, yogurt, & homemade granola. We inquired on the granola and asked if it contained coconut in it since I'm SEVERELY allergic to coconut. Well, our amazing server, Bruno, went to ask the Chef if the granola contained any coconut in it and she confirmed it did. Bruno was kind enough to come out to inform us of this. He then came back out to to bring me a new container of homemade granola that the Chef made WITHOUT coconut specifically for ME!!! Yessssss!!!! ME!!! Oh...My...!!!!!!! I can't wait until Yelp allows emojis on here!!!! Seriously!!! It almost brought me to tears!! ;( It was so moving that the Chef wanted to make me feel so welcome and make me a special blend of granola that was coconut FREE for ME!! A special applause goes out to HER for sure!!!! The restaurant is beautiful and the ambiance is amazing!! We will most definitely return for many more special meals and hopefully have the ever so wonderful Bruno as our server!!!

Yelp
Good and cocktails always a 10/10. Love coming here for an elegant meal. Ask the waiter to help you decide and for a little more input- they're great!

Yelp
A place for celebrating! Excellent menu, bar, ambiance. Whimsical at times and one of Ashburn's top restaurants.

John S.

Yelp
Amazing place. Ahso is truly a local treasure. Excellent food, drinks and atmosphere every time.

Yelp
Highly recommend this charming little restaurant in Brambleton Town Center. The food is top notch and super tasty. Phil, the bartender is awesome at making drinks! They have a small patio area where you can dine outside. We went here for lunch, but I think it would be a perfect place for a date night.

Amanda G.

Yelp
I was pretty excited to try Ahso after hearing such great things about it. There were more missed than hits. The hits were the drinks and the misses were the food. The spicy margarita was delicious and the wine selection complete. Some of the food was rather unimpressive for the cost. The appetizers were the highlight of the food- the cheese/charcuterie app was delicious, the Brussels sprouts were nicely crispy. The entrees left a lot to desire. The fried chicken was bland, the collard greens were too sweet to eat, the steak was okay, the purée under it didn't go well with the rest of the dish and it seem incoherent as a whole. I also had the smoked short ribs which was good but nothing special. There are so many other better restaurants in the area to try again. I would stop by for a drink and app but not return for a full meal.

Aamir H.

Yelp
I've been here twice now, one for a work lunch and another for a business dinner. The ambience is good and classy, with the only challenge being the clear glass on all windows which allows people to peek in from the street. The food was good but worse than expected based on the high prices. Portion sizes were also much smaller than expected for the same reason. I give the wait staff credit for accommodating any dietary restrictions in our party. The main reason I give 3/5 is that the service is incredibly slow. During the work lunch and dinner, the mains and appetizers took nearly an hour to arrive. I realize that the menu changes each day but this was very impractical for any productive meeting over food, as all of our party members were starving by the time the food finally arrived. Overall not worth it for the exorbitant price and small portion sizes and slow service

Sarah B.

Yelp
So authentic and such an amazing experience. My gal pal and I went and got the In House Wine dinner. I'm not sure if they still have it but they definitely had amazing courses and wine pairings.

Gretchen S.

Yelp
A perfect & cozy spot for a date night, special occasion, or a girls' night. The special touches they layered in made for an extra-special birthday dinner. The personalized menu, a hand written card, and glass of Rosé (that my boyfriend authorized it when he called about our reservation.) that arrived moments after we were seated set the stage for a delightful & delicious evening. The waiter, Sean, was attentive but not overbearing and his suggestions were spot on. We started with the octopus (yum!) and the crispy Brussels sprouts (good but I don't need to get them again). I sipped my Rosé and pondered my main course. The Halibut "Paella" with a shrimp, & mussels on a bed of Israeli Couscous was cooked perfectly, fresh, & flavorful. My boyfriend enjoyed the duck breast thoroughly. Our wine & cocktail were lovely additions to our meals. I chose a classic... flourless chocolate cake and asked for their house made peanut butter ice cream instead of caramel. A rich, delicious, & decadent end to a fantastic meal. Ahso serves a local coffee, Wearhervane, and the French press was a perfect compliment to our desserts. I look forward to future experiences at Ahso.

Sheena S.

Yelp
Came for a birthday dinner - the menus were noted with "happy birthday" at the top of the menu in addition to a birthday card from the staff! Very cute! I ordered the green curry gnocchi which was divinely delicious! To be honest, I wasn't sure how the flavor was going to come out, but goodness when it arrived, it was gone in a few minutes! Yum!! Would definitely eat that again any day! Desert: ordered the "King of Rock and Roll" which was really good as well - peanut butter ice cream coupled with burnt marshmallow fluff and bits of cookie crumbles. Again, fantastic. Cocktails: Kiss in France (cannot recall the correct name) was good too. Pear purée with Grey Goose and elderflower. Well made. I will definitely be back. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

Yelp
5 star prices for 3 star food. Food took forever to come out and it was not even busy and my steak was over cooked, overpriced, and dry. The only good thing we're the Brussel sprouts and the cocktails.

Yelp
Met with two other couples to give Ahso a go. Didn't know what to expect, as were new to the area, but soon discovered that we've eaten food by the chef before - Jason was at Charity in Vienna for years, as were other members of the staff. We all were big fans of Clarity before the owners antics finally made chef John give up the ship, but it's great to know that John's team has landed elsewhere and are doing great things on their own! Regarding the food, we started with the charcuterie and the bacon wrapped dates. Fantastic! I ordered the veal chop and my wife ordered fish. My wife's fish was ridiculously delicious, though my veal chop was not very tasty and mostly bone. That's said, the others in our party greatly enjoyed themselves. We'll be coming back (though I'm staying away from that veal chop next time!).

Yelp
One of the best outside the beltway restaurants I've found. This is tucked in the back of Brambleton Town Center. The wine list is fantastic. I've been twice now and each time I've gotten the chefs specials. First time was a pork shank that was buttery and full of juicy flavor. The second was a dry aged ribeye. The food is excellent and the prices not quite inner beltway but in my opinion well worth it.

Yelp
Everything I've had here is fantastic. They switch up the menu often to keep things interesting. Presentation of food and drink is a 10/10. Really nice servers and Phil the bartender is awesome. Interior is upscale modern. Need to go back asap!

Yelp
Been here before a few times and it was always great. Decided to take our friends that had come to visit for our sons birthday. Our server Noah was great and he remembered us the last time we were there for our anniversary. The appetizers were great like the crispy brussel sprouts and the green beans as well as the brioche bread pudding. Unfortunately the main course dishes were terrible. Wanted to order the Halibut paella but they ran out of it. Don't know how if you only have 6 choices of main dishes how you run out of it by 7pm on a Saturday night. The duck entree was horrible. For $40 you get maybe two ounces of duck breast. 2 of us got it on the table and both were send back as it was not cooked to the right temperature and all you tasted was eating raw skin. My friend send the dish back and just ordered something else as it tasted so bad. Also the cocktails were weak in the sense you barely tasted the liquor and I usually like my cocktails light on the alcohol. Unfortunately they had some changes in their kitchen staff and it clearly shows. In todays world of lot of choices I am disappointed that no one from the restaurant contacted me back after I gave them my initial review on Tock. Definitely will not be coming back based on the lack of responsiveness. For spending $400 in the restaurant this was very poor experience given half of the tables main dishes were terrible. Will go to Parellel the next time. It's a shame since this restaurant is in our neighborhood.

Yelp
Wouldn't recommend, especially not for vegetarians. Went there with a group on a Wednesday night so not overly crowded, but service was very slow. Got a beet and arugula salad that was small but tasty. Ordered a vegetarian dish for my main course with polenta and veggies that had little or no polenta and very few veggies swimming in a buttery brown sauce. Not tasty and barely enough for an appetizer. Won't be going back.

Yelp
On a Friday evening, my friend Emerson and I dined at AhSo Restaurant, a New American Restaurant in Brambleton, to his birthday. This restaurant has specials on select nights. Monday is Ramen Night, Tuesday is Live Music Night, Wednesday is Burger Night, Thursday is Themed Night, and Sunday is Fried Chicken Night. Our server Mo (short for Mohammad) was attentive, ensuring we were having a good time and had everything we wanted. For drinks, Emerson enjoyed ACE Guava Cider while I enjoyed the O.G. cocktail, which was an Old Fashioned made with Elijah Craig Bourbon, Maple, Angostura, Marinated Orange, and Brandied Cherries. For appetizers, we shared the Fried Squash Blossoms and Charcuterie & Cheese Board. The Fried Squash Blossoms consisted of two crispy fried squash blossoms stuffed with lemon scented ricotta and chevre served in an arugula sunflower pesto. The flavors were rather light and delicate. The Charcuterie & Cheese Board consisted of american farmstead cheeses (including Brie and Sharp Cheddar), artisan cured meats (including House Made Salami and Prosciutto), pickled onions, apple cinnamon compote, and grilled bread. For dinner, Emerson enjoyed a Local Burger, which wasn't on the menu. This Local Burger consisted of a juicy beef patty, topped with lettuce, tomato, avocado, pimento cheese, house smoked pork belly, Dijon aioli and white cheddar on toasted bun. It was served with vinaigrette dressed green salad and crispy smoked paprika seasoned rustic potatoes. I devoured the Miso Marinated Ocean Trout served over egg fried rice and sesame blistered green beans. The fish was cooked to perfection and had a crispy skin. For dessert, I had the Miso Caramel Pot de Cremetopped with vanilla whip and garnished with caramelized rice crispies. It was a bit too sweet for me but every bite was quite sinful!

Yelp
So a year later we went again for the same event thinking it would be hard to top. They actually managed to do it!!! This year's experience was even better with no disappointments in any of the many items we ordered, or the service, or atmosphere and safety. Total Quality Management (TQM) - is the perfect description of the attention to the smallest of details that may render an otherwise almost perfect product a failure. They nailed it from start - greeting us verbally at the door for the occasion, followed by a hand written card at our table, a very personable and knowledgeable server named David, and an exquisite line up of scrumptious drinks and dishes. All of this made tonight one of our best and most memorable dinners ever. We started with a pair of "French Kiss in France" cocktails - Pear based drink, based on vodka, St. Germain, pear puree and a few other ingredients that made them magical. The Panko Crusted Spanish Octopus we ordered as an appetizer wowed us - a dish that often does not live up to expectations in many places excelled here. A generous portion expertly cooked left it soft yet crisp on the outside accompanied by horseradish, honey crisp apples, and other goodies. But when was the last time you found Creme Fraiche with this dish?? For Entrees we picked the Grilled Wagyu Flank Steak (although noted on the menu as 'Streak'. Maybe streak of good luck for us picking it...). The presentation was a work of art, and the taste followed suit - medium rare pink center, juicy inside, gently seared outside, with a side variety of vegetables, notably amongst them sunchokes. We weren't familiar with it but were delighted to discover this type of juicy and crispy type of root vegetable. The other entree was a 12-hr Pork Shank Ossobuco - one of the dishes you only eat in a restaurant due to the arduous and complicated preparation required. It was swimming in heirloom pea ragout and had a tower of thinly sliced assortment of veggies and fruit covering it. There was a light smoke flavor to the meat that fell of the bone at the slightest touch of the fork. Although we were quite full at that point (unlike similar upscale restaurants that give you a portion proportionally opposite to the price, AhSo serves delicious dishes of generous portions) we had to taste the luring desserts so we picked two: Coconut Meyer Lemon Tart and Ginger Date Cake. Both were exquisite as the names imply and worth the calories (we recommend a lot of exercise before dining here as a general best practice). To top off the experience the Lemon Tart was served with a flaming torch that excited not just us but diners at nearby tables as well. Very well done - thank you for such an enjoyable feast for both the eyes and the stomach!!!

Yelp
The BEST restaurant in eastern Loudoun! The menu changes regularly, the cocktails are superb. The staff is fantastic. swanky but not fancy ambiance. You won't regret eating here

Yelp
Ahso is easily the finest restaurant in Loudoun County. Yes, I said it. We've tried haute cuisine from DC through Fairfax, and been consistently underwhelmed with tasteless food at absurd prices. But Ahso gives us hope. Their fixed price menu, which we enjoyed for our Thursday night for our anniversary (we used to regularly haunt the Ashby Inn in Paris, VA, but no more) was superb. Ahso presented inventive flavors, great presentation, and plenty of food to leave satisfied. The wine pairings were also well-matched. Honestly, I tend to find a problem with nearly every restaurant I visit. At this point, I probably go out of my way to find it. But I can't find a problem with Ahso. Jason , the owner/chef produces a fine experience at a reasonable price. Recommended highly, without reservations.

Yelp
I'm very excited to see this restaurant is still operating during the pandemic. They are enforcing social distancing and staff are wearing masks and gloves. You are able to dine-in, dine on the patio (with firepit) or pickup. We decided to come here for a holiday friends catch-up last night. Making a reservations online was super easy! We split the charcuterie board as an appetizer. I really enjoyed the creamy cheese and the fatty well roundness of the meat selections. For the main course our friend ordered the make your own burger for the Wednesday burger night. He enjoyed the options to add ghost pepper cheese to elevate the taste of the burger! We ordered the fish and chips. The fish was flaky and coupled well with the home made tartar sauce and the specialty kimchi dip. It was a nice twist! The fries were presented amazingly! I just wish they were crispy like chips/fries. We all decided to keep the night going with a dessert. I had the lemon coconut tart which was a very refreshing cheesecake consistency with mirage and toasted coconut topping it. The boys had the chocolate mouse and the bread pudding deserts. Overall we were really excited to go to AhSo! They always have such unique flavors and a wonderful atmosphere to celebrate life's everyday moments! We will be back!

Yelp
This was our first themed dinner at Ahso: "Feast of the Seven Fishes". What a fun experience!! Our favorite pairing was the lobster bisque and Chardonnay. The Chardonnay had a quality to it that reminded us of actual butter. Yes, people typically associate chardonnays with a buttery flavor, but this one had it in droves and the combination with the lobster bisque was really fun and interesting. It felt like we were complimenting the lobster bisque with butter in wine form, lol. This totally turned what could have been a normal restaurant night out with great food and drink into a really fun in different type of experience. It was more than just a night out and a bite to eat. The idea of these themed dinners is super fun and I can't wait to come back for another one!

Yelp
Chef's table review (3/5, but see below): For the most important aspect, the food was excellent and felt worth the high price. AhSo is clearly making some of the best food in the area. But I had a hard time enjoying the chef's table experience itself primarily due to the timing. I was mentally prepared for it to take 2-2.5 hours, but it ended up taking 3.5 hours. It would be one thing if we were watching the dishes be prepared between courses, but they are brought out from the kitchen. So the reality is that you spend a few minutes eating a delicious small plate, and then wait 30 minutes for the next one. Maybe this timing will appeal to some who like to linger over a meal and savor the wine pairings, but it was too much for me. When I've done similar dining experiences in the past, courses were served every ~15 minutes, which felt very natural. I'd give the chef's table 3/5, but I will happily return for a regular meal, so a 4/5 rating seems fair.

Yelp
It is local to me as I leave five minutes away walking distance. We enjoy the opportunity to go on the weekends and enjoy some cocktails and the weekend or seasonal menu. It is nouveau American cuisine. The ambiance is good, refine and friendly. The service is exceptional and attentive. We like to go and specially when there are menu changes.

Yelp
Beyond disappointing! My local friends recommended this restaurant after having a good experience there but mine was less than desirable. I am giving the restaurant two stars - 1/2 a star for the very tasty crispy brussels sprouts appetizer, 1/2 a star For a unique dessert, and a star because my coworkers thought their food was yummy. Now for what ruined the rest of it... Our server was a rude, pretentious, sexist human being. He would only speak in detail to you the 1 man at the table and gave very short responses to the 3 females. He actually rolled his eyes at my coworker when she asked for the "custom-made dessert" to be customized! My Ramen, which is apparently a special on Monday nights, was served to me lukewarm (and the flavors were lacking). When you're paying a decent amount for a dinner for four people, you would expect the service to be at least halfway decent. This was terrible, something I've never experienced before. It's sad because I love the concept of a rotating seasonal menu. But I refuse to be treated like that. Also, the wine selection is minimal, especially for the name of this restaurant. Jason - thanks for your response but it's BS. Short staffing had NOTHING to do with our experience because there was 1 other table while we were there. Your server took full care to inform the only male at the table of every detail of every dish he inquired about, but proceeded to tell me the 2 dishes I was considering were "good." It comes down to him being arrogant. And he did not provide us with a 100 bottle menu because we would have ordered something better than a $60 bottle. I appreciate your pride in your restaurant, but if you are going to put up with servers being flat out RUDE, you are part of the problem as well.

Yelp
A nice neighborhood gem tucked in as part of a town center complex in Brambleton VA (a short drive from Loudoun One). The dishes we tried were all great!! : 24-hr braised short ribs, seared Black Sea Bass, yellowfin tuna, smoked pork belly. Crispy Spanish octopus could have been interpreted better though, and "where's the octopus"? it was way too small. Bread (on request maybe?) with blood-orange whipped butter was a nice touch. Desserts were all excellent. Creative and not too sweet. We'll definitely come back again. Note: Ah So is a 2-prong wine opener

Yelp
I don't get it. I spent 50$ on a unseasoned steak that was over cooked and served on some gross mashed black bean mush and some flavorless vegetables. The charcuterie board and wine was decent. Service was good. However, If you're looking for a steak, like I was, go next door to nicks. I forget what type of fish my wife got but that was also flavorless, with flavorless sides. Use some salt. Edit: if you're considering this place. Take a moment to read all the responses from the business owner Jason. Never once accepts responsibility for his downfalls and always blames his staff. Hey Jason, you're responsible for your staff, if they fail, it's your fault. Accept responsibility and offer to make up for it. Huge red flag. Don't go near this place.

Yelp
I would describe my experience at Ahso in a phrase ... "well balanced". Everything about this place is just right... Interior: Tables not too crowded. Room to move around. Service: Wonderful staff. Friendly, not overbearing or rushing. Kid friendly. Ambiance: High ceilings are always somethin I enjoy. Airy, not claustrophobic. Food: Wonderful. Very nice selections. Taco Tuesday was Blackened Halibut and Pickled Beef with light slaw in soft corn tortillas. This is a place for quality experience. The portions are just right, I don't want to leave there with 20lbs of pasta in me, or a take home box. If your looking for a take home leftovers you should consider Cheesecake Factory. This is an experience of wonderful flavors, nice portions and a very good experience overall. You could go with entree's or small plates typical of Tapas and go family style as well. When you visit, try the Top Shelf Margarita...outstanding. We will return for their Brunch on Saturday's and Sunday's. Well Done Ahso.

Yelp
8 of us came here for adult night out. It was our first time here and we had our own private room. Private room was very nice and it was just the right size for 8 people, possibly 10. I don't see how they could have fit 12 in the room. Overall the group agreed we would come back for the starter and first course but not for dinner. Duck wings, grilled octopus and seared scallops were very good. Pork chops and ribeye were very dry. Service was quick.

Yelp
Wow, wow, wow. Spent four hours at the chef's table and it was a delightful experience. It went by so quickly for how long it was. I already can't wait to return. The chef's explanations of the pairing and the inspiration for the courses was so fun. The chef was friendly and a great element of the experience. The courses were primarily paired with wine but one was paired with a perfect cocktail. The bartender was awesome. I look forward to returning to try more of his creations.
