Stayed here for three nights at the Outrigger with my family to a pleasant stay. The suite we rented was spacious, had a boatload of amenities such as a fridge, dish washer, and television. Each room had its own AC unit which helped keep the suite cool even with Maui's hot weather. The washroom is nice and has a powerful, walk-in shower and extra towels for your needs. The only recommendation for the bathroom is perhaps putting more tissues in as we ran out half way through our stay. Beds were very clean and no complaints about the unit. The resort provides extra beach items that may be handy such as beach towels, snorkeling gear, umbrellas, chairs, and other factors. Now, let's talk about the outside. The resort is well decorated with tropical vegetation. There are pools and tanning chairs, but we never used them because we preferred the beach so I can't comment on their use, but they looked clean. The front desk is only open until 5:30pm so if you want to park on-site for $20/night (day time is free) make sure to do that. If you come by car, your other options are extremely limited street parking (towing begins at 8am) and a private parking lot across the church for $25 a night. As a warning for those with allergies, the resort is littered with cats roaming about. Overall, a good stay, but there are certain areas that could be improved on like providing better maps (the layout is initially confusing), curating more tissues and toilet paper, and providing free parking as there were a ton of unused spaces.

We stayed in B107 and found the place cozy. I really enjoyed the close access to Front Street 5 minute walk. I thought the parking was a little steep $20 day. The AC have 4 hour timers, so have to wake up in the middle of the night to turn back on the air. The shower heads could definitely be replaced as well bathroom fan is need or some solution gets very muggy and zero airflow even with all windows open. But the beds are very comfortable (soft) and would recommend this place.

We were completely unprepared to stay at this location. A phone call prior to your stay is the norm, as I later learned. This phone call would have helped, perhaps considerably. We arrived after 9pm. The first thing I noticed was there is no front desk (to be clear I have never stayed at this type of place before so I didn't know what to expect and was surprised by what I found). There were no night personnel. The phone service is NOT onsite. Neither is any management on site. So finding our room was a challenge. There are no road markers or sign lighting or visible signs. I finally had to walk the property to find our building. Its sign wasn't facing the road or lit. Another building's sign was hidden behind a staircase. The planning of this place is not cohesive or logical. The room cleaning was not finished. No blankets or sheets for pull out. The pullout bed was covered in food crumbs. The management company said it could take 30 minutes for someone to drive over and finish our room. We arrived back to our room after a long day to find our room door code was changed. No notice or anything. Someone changed it. We called the after hours service and they informed us of the lock change and the new code. Also, rather ominously, we were told to "report to the front desk" the next morning concerning our reservation. Mind the fact there is no front desk. This place is unpredictable. Not only are you playing a guessing game at night as to which building is which. Your room access can change on a dime without notification. The tiny bugs crawling around the bathroom and kitchen seem harmless but still…do you want uninvited roommates. Our stay ended with a talk with the office manager for the company that maintained our unit. She was very understanding and made our trip worth while. Even though I would be willing to stay here again, now that I know what to expect, I'd likely find somewhere else. The morning noise by employees and other guests as early as 6am didn't facilitate the ideal vacation schedule.

I had a wonderful 4 night stay here with my wife and 1.5 pool-loving daughter. 1 longish block to the main strip. 5 minute walk. So..super location. Rooms are very Hawaiian-chic. Classy. Clean. Grained were very quiet most of the time, with empty pool access (we went fri-Tuesday in late august). Excursion options on site. Overnight pay parking ($20ish). Or free street parking (which we found each night).

This place was beautiful. Our room was gorgeous and site was full of life. The only reason I rated 4 stars was because there was no room service. We took out our own trash and continuously washed all our towels.

A true example of Excellent hospitality! Immaculately, beautiful and clean. The Aloha and hospitality is way beyond expectations and honestly the best experience I've had. Leeann of Itrip Vacations Maui made the experience of booking very easy and communication was amazing. Aina Nalu, unit H105 is located right in the heart of Historical Lahaina town. This place is Extremely immaculate and it felt like home. The decor were of great quality and very comfortable. The kitchen is fully loaded and equipped with everything. This beautiful unit is very spacious and comes with a lot of amenities. Everything that was described on the website and a lot of added personal touches from the owners that made it very special. It's a block away from lots of shops, restaurants, movie theaters and The Lahaina Boat Harbor. All within walking distance. Definitely, highly recommended and I look forward in returning soon.

We stayed here in Maui for 10 nights. I was a little worried when we drove up as it looked a little old. Check in was easy. She gave us coupons for local restaurants and the closest grocery store. They saved us quite a bit of money. When we opened the door to our condo I was very impressed! It was immaculately clean. Beautifully decorated. Kitchen had full size fridge/ freezer. Stove and microwave. A small dishwasher. Kitchen was well stocked with dinnerware, glasses, silverware, utensils, pots and pans bowls, etc. The large living room had a large TV. The bedroom had a queen size bed and also a TV. It didn't have any drawers for clothes, but there were shelves below the TV we used plus there was a big closet. The large bathroom included a washer and dryer. They had nice fluffy towels. Not much room around the sink for personal items. Large open walk in stone shower was beautiful. A air conditioner in the bedroom and the living room kept us comfortable. They have 2 swimming pools - a fresh water and a salt water one plus a hot tub. They offer a breakfast the morning after you arrive to orient you to the island and tell you about different excursions. You can win a prize. See didn't attend we were too tired to get up that early The only downsides to stay here was they charged $17.50 a night good parking and $175.00 cleaning fee when you moved out. No maid service unless requested, and then it's $60. I thought those fees excessive.

We LOVE Aina Nalu! The location is perfect and just a short walk away from famous Front Street. We love the saline infinity pool and the cabanas around it. The hot tub was also nice at night time. We stayed in the C building on the main floor with a walkout back foot right to the pool. This really made our trip perfect!

Yelp
Stayed at Aina Nalu by Outrigger for 6 nights just recently and would not stay again. Set low expectations if you stay here. Pros: Location and proximity to old town Lahaina is very walkable. Unit had a washer and dryer which was really convenient. Cons: Overall resort is outdated and could use a major overhaul. Our room A202 had ants, pincher bugs, and spiders, which we had to go buy Raid and stay the entire unit. Inside the unit, it appeared clean as we first entered but as we got situated the entire unit could use a major deep clean. Carpet was stained, lamps were dusty, and countertops needed to be wiped down. Outrigger staff is not on location so it made dealing with any issues a challenge because we had to call their main office for assistance. Internet and cable issues required multiple calls to Outrigger for assistance. They don't keep you up to date if you need to be present to allow entry to the unit, so we spent a lot time waiting around Parking is $20 a day. Overall, the issues we ran into put a really big damper in enjoying our vacation. It was tolerable, but we will not be back.

Yelp
My wife and I wanted a safe, Covid wind down vaca. We booked through American Airlines Vacations and got an air, car, condo package. My wife ( who has been here, I hadn't) picked out the Outrigger Ana Nalu because of its proximity to Old Town Lahaina. Good call! Checking in is contactless. You get your door code by email. The closest contact we had was when we got our parking pass ($20/day, above the unit rental). For that, you stop in at the registration pavilion 8am-noon after you arrive and deal with a very nice attendant. When you see how tight parking is in Lahaina, you feel lucky to only be paying $20/day... The complex is large, but seems almost intimate. We see the cars, occasionally see other guests but generally wander alone to our car or the pool. There are two pools, a smaller one in the center of the complex and a larger one on the edge, near what (pre-Covid) looks like a clubhouse/bar/bathroom...all closed now. Both pools have sturdy, well padded and comfortable loungers. They also have shaded pool huts that are big enough for 3 or 4 people to lounge around in. The Outrigger Ana Nalu is a quick and easy 1/4 mile walk to the center of Lahaina's old town. Tourist, Art and grocery shopping is in easy reach. The best restaurants and bars as well. Our 1 bedroom unit is clean, well kept and roomy. The bed is very comfy. An air conditioner in the bedroom and living room. Fans in both. Large full kitchen opens onto the living room. The full bath has a wonderful walk in shower, and a stacked washer/dryer. The unit is stocked with enough dishes and glasses to service o people (capacity with pull out couch would be 4 adults). All in all, I think this is a great place to stay!

Yelp
We stayed at Aina Nalu unit C201 for Thanksgiving Holiday 2021, it was our first vacation since the COVID pandemic. The property is indeed conveniently located near all the restaurants and shopping so they would get 5 stars for location but that's all they had going for them, the unit and grounds are another story. Upon arrival to the unit we found that the toilet and sink in the master bathroom were clogged, called management to have it repaired. They sent someone the next day while we were out enjoying the island and when we came back we found that yes, they had fix the clog but they had left brown water all over the bathroom floor and shower and tracked to the front door. They wouldn't send cleaning crew to clean so I had to run out to the store and buy cleaning supplies and spent 2 hours of my vacation cleaning their mess! Then three days into our vacation the washer stopped working, so we spent the next 7 days without the ability to wash towels (which they only provide three for the entire stay!!!!) or any other clothing items. The air conditioning was dripping water on the porch to the point that it was a small lagoon and we were unable to use it. We found old food in the refrigerator, dirty dishes in the dishwasher, and the unit's carpet looked disgusting. Worse place I have ever stayed in Hawaii for sure! We will never rent from Aina Nalu again.

Yelp
Aina Nalu is very close to old town Lahaina and overall the amenities here are great. The units had plenty of space for our family and was very clean. The washer and dryer was also very convenient for us as well. I would give Aina Nalu a 4 star review, if it weren't for the incredibly rude "host" at the front desk. A host should be welcoming and nice, or at least pretend to be. The host at Aina Nalu named "Pono", or whatever name it was he randomly picked from a Hawaiian name generator, was incredibly rude from the time we arrived. We were greeted with a scowl and attitude from the get go, and everytime we got back to the hotel from our day out. We parked our rental van next to his Toyota and he even came out to watch and make sure we didn't scratch his car. If this guy can't even pretend to be nice maybe he should go find a new line of work. Other than "Pono", this place was great.

Yelp
Well- we stayed here 10 years ago and unfortunately this place has changed for the worst. Back in 2012 this was 100% Outrigger! We noticed they were starting to sell off some of the units but when we arrived there was no outrigger staff onsite- instead Coconut Condos was sparingly around the front desk. They told me there are several prop mgmt companies on-site- some are air bnb and a small portion is Outrigger. We booked through Hotels.com and it mentioned Outrigger @ Aina Nalu- but apparently they stuck us in a Coconut Condo suite - Eucalyptus building I. The interior was disgusting. Accumulated dust and dirt on the ceiling fans, baseboard, dirty stools, mattress, carpet, and couch. I can't believe how bad the unit was. The washer leaked, there were roaches, and to make matters worse the walls were paper thin- we had neighbors who were extremely loud all hours of the night and on the third night we finally called security due to a clear domestic violence issue. But before that happened we asked to be moved and we're told there weren't any other 1 bedroom units. It was disappointing to say the least. The only good thing about this place is the location as it is walking distance to restaurants, bars, and shops. But please keep in mind you will be staying in an overpriced DUMP! The photos online through hotels.com or outrigger site is NOTHING like reality.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!! RATS! We get to our room very tired the place looks so pretty and quiet and very nice! But when we start to get ready for bed and start to pull out the couch bed ....rat poops come out we were in shock and start to look around for more. And when i got to one of the rooms i looked behind the nightstand and i found MORE rat poops and TRASH !! they don't even clean because it was in plain sight oh and theres more they KNEW about the rat problem and put a rat trap under the sink . and it was recently set eww and we kept looking around and there was poop in the oven ughhh we were so uncomfortable sleeping here and they couldn't do anything about until the next morning UGHHH. After seeing this i ran to the reviews and everyone is saying no one cleans here and i 100% agree it does not look like someone cleans after guests. so here i am writing this review scared to go to sleep and i want to throw up lol theres other reviews saying theres roaches, and trash left behind and more disappointed update: next day we found COCKROACHES in the kitchen ughhhhh i just wanted to relax and not stress about anything, its so frustrating having to deal with this, we asked them to come clean the room , when we came all they did was vacuum they didnt clean the couch rat poop because everything was the way we left it ughh p.s the room was BEAUTIFUL and super close to the stores and restaurants it just sucks that i had to sleep in a room with all of this FOR 3 NIGHTS

Yelp
We stayed for a few nights in January 2020. We stayed in a ground floor 2bdr/2 bath unit that backed up to the pool. So you could look out or walk out and enjoy the views and the accommodations. We loved that we could pick our room online and selected a unit that had 2 king beds. The rooms were decent. Nice tile bathrooms. The pools were clean and not crowded or loud. Extra towels and beach towels came with the unit. Comes with washing machine and drier and dishwasher. Lots of parking. Friendly staff. We got a good discount on Outrigger website. We loved being so close to front street shops and dining! Just a short 2 block walk. We loved Kimos for drinks, happy hour and dinner. What we Didn't like was: 1)Additional Parking fees $17.50 a night. But in the end we didn't have to pay to park downtown. Street parking is scarce and not well lit. 2)Resort Fees and other fees for this and that and cleaning feeds and deposits that increased the listed rate significantly. 3)Hearing our upstairs neighbors walk around, move furniture and talk loudly on their lanai 4) No restaurant or bar onsite 5) Our condo had the most basic of supplies plates, glasses, etc. No coffee filters or ice. 6) We only had 2 beach chairs even though it is a 2 bdrm unit. So 2 of us had to sit on towels. Overall we liked it. Great Value in Maui

Yelp
Very modern remodels! Love the pools and hot tub only downside is that neighbors are easily heard but overall the condos are amazing!! Great amenities; beach chairs, Day beds, bbqs, kitchen, dining areas, etc!! Perfect location as it gives great access to everything in the area!

Yelp
My husband and I rented a 1 bedroom suite for our anniversary. Overall the stay was nice. Let's just go down the line... Parking: there's lots of parking on the property but it is $17.50 a night and per vehicle. There is a lot of FREE street parking, but you run the risk of your car being parked on the side of the road all night. Check in: fairly easy, the normal ID and credit/debit card needed. THIS is the part where I start to knock off stars. I booked through a discount website and was non refundable, I was okay with that. I read yelp and noticed that others were charged an additional mandatory "cleaning fee". I made sure to read the fine print on everything to see if that fee applied to all rooms or certain ones, since this is a condo I understood that some guests stay for weeks at a time and it would make sense for a deep clean at the end of their stay. But I didn't find anything that mentioned the fee. It kinda ticked me off since I'm a stickler for plans and budgets and that fee was in neither my plan nor budget, but it was non refundable so it was either buck up and pay the extra $200 or loose $500. Room: more stars are lost here. At first glance this place looked beautiful! Nice counter tops 'CLEAN'(so I thought) and updated. I walked into the bathroom, lifted the toilet seat and found weird dust looking particles floating. There were multiple dust bunnies in the sink and at least 2 moths in the shower. The shower needed to be wider or the wall needed to be longer because I had to angle the shower head towards the inside wall so that water wouldn't splash all over the floor. You could tell the bed needed to be upgraded, I could feel and hear every spring as soon as I sat on it. The unit comes with a dishwasher and soap but our dishes still had gunk/food stuck on them. BUT really did appreciate the silverware, pots/pans, toaster, etc in the kitchen. Pools: smaller pool is chlorine, it seemed like there was too much in there. The pool itself looked cloudy and you could smell the chlorine before you even went to the edge. I got out after 10 mins because my eyes started to burn(I didn't put my head under the water or anything) and my skin felt irritated. The larger pool is a 'salt water infinity pool' it was nice roughly 5' all around but still seemed to have chlorine. BEWARE of the wasps around the pool/grass area. There's lots of Lounge chairs and 4 cabanas but you need to get there early. Signs say wrist bands required but only on our second day did we get a wrist band. Staff: you don't see them much around the property but they give you phone numbers to reach them at. On our second day we spent majority of it at the salt water pool. There was a security guard their enforcing pool rules, but most of the time had his feet on the table as he sat in the patio area watching TV. Other than that staff at check in/out are friendly. Overall the location was nice and I'd recommend it more for a week or longer stay to get your monies worth rather than just a couple day staycation.

Yelp
I'm so pleased with Coconut Condos and it's employees, especially Nicole who works Security and Gay who's apart of Housekeeping. Not only is Aina Nalu a beautiful place to stay but is perfectly located in Lahaina, steps away from everything. Nicole helped me retrieve my bags bc the door code wasn't working and Gay was so accommodating. You really can't ask for anything more than that while in Maui. Mahalo Coconut Condos and we can wait to visit again. -Macario, Mark, Leah, Brendan, Matt & Will!

Yelp
Less then impressed the accommodations are just ok. Stray cats everywhere. Outside our room smelled like cat and chicken Run down, stains on the carpet, uneven dinner table we needed to balance, worn down and broken furniture, outrageous pay for parking not included with our stay and I could go on. I feel like the electric roach repellent in the kitchen was a nice touch. My other thought is why is everything so small and squished? Our condo slept 6, had a tiny apartment fridge and a dinner table that sat 2. 2 of bar stools were broken down and when I used it my chin was on the counter. Definitely underwhelming

Yelp
Waited 2 hours for my room after a long day of work. The customer service wasn't as expected coming from the Aloha State. A sense of urgency would have been appreciated and was expected but not received

Yelp
The apartment we rented was so clean, inviting and the perfect home away from home. The pools were so great, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. There were some workers trimming the trees on our last day and they had a ton of coconuts and my son asked for a small one to play with and they ended up giving us 3 to take home and showed my son how to Cut one open! Just all around great stay!

Yelp
Great property over all. Service is lacking. Had a hard time checking in since i booked on hotwire. Shouldnt of been that hard. Everything was done with emails which means if you had a problem you had to wait for an answer. The obky employee i found during check in was the parking lot attendant. He was very sadsy and snarky. Never mentioned i had to pay HIM for parking. You would think the 30+ minutes we spent together, that would have been brought up.

Yelp
This place is awesome except for the parking situation. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. You can't beat the location, a few minutes of walking and you are on Front St! There is a mix of privately owned units that are rented out and Aina nalu owned units. I rented a suite through coconut condos and got terrific service. The buildings here are all two stories. There is tons of parking but Aina Nalu has the audacity of charging $20 a night. It's not "A la carte" either. You have to pay for parking for the whole duration of your stay. Street parking is rare, so we didn't drive too much because of the parking situation. ($20 a night is a lot! I have better things to spend my vacation money on, like Roselani ice cream!) Since I rented the condo, there was no maid service. There was a steep cleaning charge tacked onto my room charge that was mandatory. The staff here was not helpful in helping me get a parking pass printed for the discounted $10 parking across the street. Instead, they handed me a business card for an internet cafe down the street who charges $2.50 a page for printing. The layout of the suites inside was brilliant. I had a two bedroom, with a master suite on opposite sides of the unit, and a kitchen and living room in the middle. If you stay in A building, the noise from the main office AC can keep you up all night. My suite had a full kitchen, washer and dryer and free super fast Wi-Fi. Other than the parking and unhelpful front desk staff, this place was awesome.

Yelp
May not be counted a 5 star hotel when you go through booking agencies or hotel guides.. but for the price, atmosphere, amenities and location... I'm giving this place a 4 Star rating for my recent visit!!! All the rooms have a kitchen, refrigerator, dinning ware, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, washer/dryer, is walking distance to the Front Street the heart of Lahaina, is driving distance to Kaanapali and other amazing beaches and affordable prices, if this is what you're looking for... this is for you!!! The salt water pool was also really nice, it was never too crowded and it felt great on you skin. This was my first time traveling with my 8 month old daughter so the amenities outwayed any type of need for beach front locations. I needed a fridge, sink, washer/dryer and room for a pack n play. Things to keep in mind when staying at this hotel: - Parking is $15/night (free parking on the street, but not as convenient) - No housekeeping ($ to get towels, trash taken out, $$ for more) - You get enough shower towels and beach towels on your visit - Grounds are quiet even though near the bustle of Lahaina - Front desk is not open 24 hours - No kiddy pool, so bring floaties if needed - No elevators for those staying on the second floor - No onsite room service for food -They do provide some laundry detergent, dish soap, dish sponge, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bath and hand soap Now if you don't mind any of the above listed points... you may love the simplicity of this hotel. I've stayed at several hotels in Hawaii, and I can say that most of them have the bare necessities and cost the same. These rooms are larger than your average hotel rooms and have more than you typically will need. If you're staying in Maui for more than 4 nights, definitely consider staying here since you can stock up on supplies and bring leftovers home to warm up. Only cons I experienced is that when I booked the hotel the site mentioned that a playard was available upon request and they only had showers. Luckily a month prior to our visit I called to confirm it and they said they no longer offer the services anymore and they gave me a rental companies info... the price wasn't worth it so just brought ours along... a bit more baggage than I anticipated, but at least I knew it was my own and clean. As for the showers only in the room, I purchased an inflatable tub from Babies R Us for about $10 to give my daughter a bath in. If not for these 2 things... I would have given them a 5 star rating. Definitely wouldn't mind staying here again on our next trip to Maui. :) Note - Review based on reservations through the Outrigger Aina Nalu directly through their hotel, I know some of my friends reserved at this location as well through an condo rental through owners of the property. They had some extra amenities that the condo owner provided i.e. cooler, boogie boards, beach chairs... but not sure if they have the save housekeeping company as the hotel.

Yelp
Parents booked a great package deal through OneTravel. Our room in the Bamboo section has a full kitchen, bedroom, living room with a sofabed for a fan of 4. Everyone on foursquare was talking about Front Street and I had no idea what that was, and it's a cute strip of shops, restaurants, and a few bars. Super nice at night and you can catch some free shows on some nights around 7pm. It's suuuper close; literally just go down the street across from Aina Nalu's exit and cut through that white building with the pho restaurant and theater and you're there. Don't like that we had to pay for parking every night and how far the dumpster was to throw our trash out. Also didnt really like the tourism/orientation lady. She decided to begin helping put and answering questions for another family who leeched onto the group in front of us, so that's the 4 stars. Not being fair to my family on our first day os a huge no-no. Informative, but obviously was trying to target people who looked like they had money to,spend, too bad that was us. We ended up calling another place instead and our tickets for a luau ran us $10 less a person. BUT, the stay is clean, comfortable, and relaxing. Great pools with little bungalows by the bigger pool. Haven't seen one spider or cockroach, just a fat cat walking around. Definitely stay here!!!!!

Yelp
After checking into our room we noticed a cockroach on the counter then saw a bunch of bugs dead and alive all over the bathroom floor. I called Liz at the front desk who told me to come down and she would give us a new room. She sent an employee to check it out who obviously did not look very well and said she saw nothing. Liz rudely accused me of being a liar, and I had to show her the video on my phone as she rolled her eyes and ignored me as I spoke. She then told me after having the employee check again that I made a big deal of it and there was no reason for it, and I should be glad the entire place wasn't covered in bugs. After getting our new room we still saw cockroaches in the kitchen every night. The way Liz handled the situation was very unprofessional and I would not stay here again.

Yelp
The first time we stayed here a few years ago this place was cash money - through Outrigger. We just got back and this time it was a bit of a disaster due to renting a VRBO unit managed by Maui Paradise Properties. The unit was in disrepair in general. Old original carpet and furniture (really gross), two light fixtures didn't work at all (kitchen and bathroom), the shower handle fixture in the master bath was broken/loose, doors were warped and some didn't shut fully, fridge door didn't seal, there was a stinky smell coming from behind the stove which we ended up barely using because it was so gross, and, now for the best part - the ant and roach infestation. This unit clearly needed a deep cleaning (which appears to have not happened in years), the stove needs to be pulled and cleaned behind, and the place needs a professional roach/ant infestation expert to come in ASAP. Maui Paradise property summary - in disrepair, needs updating, needs deep deep deep clean, needs bug/pest control.

We came for a girls trip with my daughter as a graduation present. This location was perfect to walk to dinner, walk to the harbor for dinner cruises and snorkeling and shopping. The walk is even shorter than I thought. Two really short blocks to front street. The complex is beautiful with lush landscaping and relaxing fountains. The pool area is really lovely with a nice pool, resort type lounging and an awe inspiring view of the mountains. The unit is just as pictured online. Loved it. The beds are really comfortable. The unit is well equipped with snorkeling gear, beach towels, chairs and a nice assortment of coolers. There is even an ice maker near the pool. It took me a few days to realize that. There are 4 chairs but two of them are really better for kids. If you're looking for a great location to stay if you're planning for daily adventures, this is it. We explored different beaches - Kapalua Bay was our favorite for snorkeling with the turtles. That's a can't miss! We took a helicopter tour - Maverick Tours. We were really happy with them! Spa day at the Waldorf Astoria Grand Wailea. One of our favorite experiences - a drive to the Nakalele Blowhole. That is another can't miss! If you are physically able to navigate a quarter mile of rocky terrain downhill, you must go there. So very worth the effort and free! But very dangerous if you don't heed warnings and get too close. Just use common sense. You can get taken down into the blowhole if you get too close. People have died. If you stay in the dry area you are perfectly safe. So we absolutely loved our stay at Aina Nalu. Don't have any complaints at all. Just a heads up for those of you used to central air conditioning. There isn't a whole lot of central AC on the island and most condos don't have it. There are 3 window units in this condo which works just fine. They are on timers so when you go out, then condo will be hot when you get back. But they cool things down very quickly and we were never really too hot. You'll find that many restaurants are open to the ocean and use overhead fans. It's all fine - just go with it. We loved it and will be back!!!

Yelp
The proximity to Front St. and grounds of the property were great! The inside of the property could use a lot of sprucing up. I think the units managed by Coconut Condos or rented out by owners of Aina Nalu are in better condion than the ones managed by Outrigger. When we arrived there were ants on the wall and all over the counter. We called to have it taken care of but no one came so we went and bought some ant spray to take care of it ourselves. My husband had to log on for work while we were there and the wi-fi and info they gave us wasn't working. We had to call a few times before we got someone to help get us set up. One of the toilets wasn't working and again we called a few times and no one ever came. We finally gave up and just had everyone use the bathroom in our room which wasn't super convenient. The A/C in one of the rooms wasn't working properly and again no response to calls. We had a mouse show up one morning and had to set up a trap and we think it went down the drain and that was the only time someone showed up.

Yelp
Outrigger Aina Nalu in Lahaina, Maui, HI has been a great experience!!! My husband & I decided in late 2016, after our wedding in 5/6/27, that we'd go to Hawaii. At first we were going to stay in Waikiki or Honolulu in Oahu, through our Hilton Grand Vacations time share, then island hop to Maui. HGV Club is NOT available in Maui, so instead we decided to just shoot straight to Maui & use another resource. After hearing from quite a few friends, family & co-workers who had positive experiences with Costco travel, I browsed on Costco.com under their travel section. For just around $2,100 - $2,200 we found several packages that included 2 round trip tickets from LAX to Maui, 7 nights at hotels/condos (we chose Aina Nalu) & a car rental for the whole week. We chose to fly out of LAX on Monday, May 8th at 9am & are flying back home on Tuesday, May 16th at 1pm. And we decided to add that 8th day and paid $2,400. Here are things you should know. At the Aina Nalu you are staying at condos rented out by owners, so there is $150 cleaning fee after your stay & parking is $17/night. After we checked out on our last day, we were charged $297 for the $150 + ($17 x 8 nights) + taxes/fees. Costco did a great job of reminding us of our vacation a couple weeks beforehand. They emailed the itinerary & suggested we print out the reservations/confirmations because that's what we'll need to get boarding tickets, the car rental & entrance to lodging. I printed out the email confirmations & placed them in sheet protectors & placed a copy in my purse. It was that easy! 1.) 2 round trip tickets from LAX to MAUI on Hawaiian Airlines 2.) Alamo car rental for 8 days 3.) 8 days/nights at the Outrigger Aina Nalu We had a good size one bedroom suite, which is a condo. It had a full, but small kitchen, with pots, pans, utensils, plates, cups, dishes & all the things you'd need to cook s full meal. There were flat screen TVs & AC units in both the living room & bedroom. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious & also housed a washer & dryer combo behind a left stacking shutter door. The Aina Nalu has two pools, one fresh water pool closer to the front of the property & towards the back where they have a travel concierge, there is a much larger full sized salt water pool & hot tub. Also, there are bamboo huts for guests to lounge on & hide from the sun. The staff is very friendly & helpful. When we needed more detergent, toiletries & coffee filters they have come through. They were on top of everything & were great with reminders. My only 2 criticisms. 1.) They do not provided a king sized bed. Only a full/queen sized bed. I was disappointed in this as we are full sized honeymooners that need room to sprawl out when we sleep. 2.)We also encountered a problem the 2nd full day there. Our room was K-108, in the Bamboo building. Our arrival was mid-day Monday, but didn't discover until Wed morning that we had a roach infestation. The font desk & management was informed right away & they let us change rooms first thing the next morning. We switched to G-203, the Ginger building. The roach infestation is not an accurate overall assessment of the property. Also keep in mind these are individually owned condos. The Aina Nalu is located in the busy, touristy spot of Lahaina, which is located very close to the beach & many eateries. There is a grocery store called, Foodland, very close by. Also, well known chains like Starbucks & Jamba Juice for those that want something familiar. Only a walk away is the beach, some museums, the water attractions, galleries & fine dining restaurants. I WOULD DEFINITELY STAY AT THE AINA NALU AGAIN! If you're thinking about staying here, it's a great choice. They are also available for booking on AircBNB & VRBO.

Yelp
Dingy and rundown..no beach or beach views. HORRIBLE, or basically no, customer service. One toilet doesn't work, no central AC, one TV doesn't work, dirty dishes, and dirty towels in the washer. There is no one to get the parking pass from, but we get a parking violation notice. Just not good. No amenities. Just be prepared and know what you are getting into.

Yelp
Love Love Love this place! My fiancé and I stayed here last Halloween and couldn't have been happier! It's right in the middle of all the action and away from the Beige/Vanilla/Overpriced Resorts. Best place to stay without the Crowds! Also, best Saltwater pool Ever!!!! Kathleen, the concierge was amazing too! Helped us find amazing getaways at a great deal!!! Definitely will stay here again!

Yelp
Front desk service was limited and not 24 hours since it's not a hotel, but transformed hotel/condos. If you are ok with that, I'd highly recommend that you stay here. It's close to Front Street (which is the only place that's open at 10p). Plenty of parking and close to everything, including gas stations, the harbor, ABC store, shops, restaurants, etc. The decor is very modern even though you're in Hawaii. Loved the darker wood decor and the flat screen TV in the bedroom. This place has those lighter colored, smaller ants if you leave food on the counter. Our suite had a laundry/dryer in the bathroom and a pull-out bed in the living room with A/C. This is a smoke-free property with no balconies. If you get a room near the parking lot, you will hear people all night. The lawnmowers start going at 8a so you can't sleep in. There are no elevators, but this place is only two stories. Your stiletto might get caught in one of the planks on the second floor. The bathroom amenities were ok. I like the soaps that had texture for exfoliation. This place has detachable hair dryers, which was nice. I would come back here if I ever come to Maui again.

Yelp
I'm going to be fair on rating Outrigger Aina Nalu. When we first arrived I was going to give this place a 4. The front desk ladies were nice and welcoming. First stepping into the condo I thought the layout was good, we liked the master bedroom, the high ceilings, washer and dryer, and living room patio. At first seemed generally clean accept our kitchen was a bit dirty. The cons made me drop stars: - There was a little roach in the coffee maker. - The bedroom walls had dust. - The kitchen was a bit dirty. - The living room fan was wobbly. - The couch was a little dirty and the kitchen was not clean. - SOooo dusty! This place has potential however Outrigger has to do something about it. We are Shells Vacation/Wyndham timeshare owners and would not purchase Outrigger timeshare. Maybe they put us in a crappy unit because I booked way in advanced with a lower rate. Pools were nice, however there were alot of ants carrying their eggs in one of the lounge area by the sea water pool. The sad part is this place has so much potential, location is wonderful, the layout is great but for a $100 cleaning fee and the condos are not clean is ridiculous. Outrigger management, please do something about your rooms. I would of given the Condo a 2 * however I was such in a good mood being in Maui and the location was close to all the cute shops and the beach!

Yelp
I stayed at Aina Nalu for about a week and enjoyed our time here. However, be aware that the cost of the room does not reflect additional fees. This may not be disclosed at the time of booking and before you arrive. Aina Nalu offers 1 or 2 bedroom condo-style living which includes a full kitchen, dining area and living room. We stayed in a 2 bedroom place which was clean and spacious. The kitchen had an oven, stove, microwave, refrigerator/freezer and dishwasher. There were TVs in both bedrooms and living area. The living room had a pull out sofa as well. The bathrooms included bath and pool towels and a large open shower. There is a sign that indicates all pool towels must be accounted for in your room or you will be charged a fee. Each room had its own AC unit and ceiling fans to keep cool on those hot island days. The room also provides a combo washer/dryer. Fees - There is a cleaning fee that will be charged at the end of your stay. We were charged $175 for a 2 bedroom place. Parking is also about $18 a day. Reviews say there is street parking across the main entrance that is free but its first come first serve. Our room was far from street so we ended up paying for parking. If you want to swap out towels, there is also a $40 charge. So we ended up just washing them daily. At least the hotel gives you laundry detergent for free if you need it. The prices were pretty decent compared to the other hotels/Air BnB rentals in the area. The area is pretty quiet with lots of restaurants, shops and a Foodland grocery store within minutes of Aina Nalu. So finding something to do isn't going to be hard to find. The front desk lobby area is in an open air building right as you enter the property. They go over all the fees and provide a map for the entire area. It was hard to see the Building letters so the map was helpful. There are 2 different pools. The freshwater pool located behind the lobby is 3 feet minimum and up to 7 feet deep. There is a BBQ grill and small cabana here. The saltwater pool area is 4-5 feet deep and has a bar area with restrooms, cabana seating, bbq grill, and a hot tub (which was little too hot for my taste). Because I have a deep dislike for reptiles, there were also a lot of lizards and geckos on the grounds, so I was freaked out the entire time we left the rooms. But I would definitely recommend this place if you will be staying for more than just few days.

Yelp
Was excited to book this place for our first family trip to Maui. I was super disappointed when we got here. Floors were very dirty. Our first hour of walking around inside the room, our feet were already super dirty. Found three strands of hair on the bed sheets. Blinds were so dusty. Found small roaches in the kitchen and bedroom. Couch was also dated and lots of stains, it was suppose to be converted into a sofa bed, but it looked like a wreck that we decided not to open it. We covered the couch instead with the comforter from the room, and washed all the pillow cases. Thank god the unit had washer and dryer. All the rooms were booked, according to front desk. Will never come here again, and will never recommend.

Yelp
I would never come back here again! Upon arrival there was a dead roach on the bed. Called front desk and we were moved to a different room. The new room wasn't as updated as the first room. But we stayed there bec there were no visible bugs! Early in the morning, there it was a live roach! Called front desk and again we were moved. They "sprayed the units" so the bugs were coming out...that was the excuse they gave me! The other unit still had bugs but we gave in! Unfortunately, I got a non-refundable package! Wish I knew how to contact outrigger and demand for a better place! Unless someone can tell me that roaches are a normal thing here at Maui! Guess this will be the last time we'll be vacationing here! There were even bugs outside and inside the rental car because of this unit. My kids are terrified and we are disgusted! The place looks beautiful and clean and staff were friendly but DON'T BE FOOLED!

Yelp
Rented a 2 bed, 1 bath condo for a week in mid June and LOVED it. Spacious, clean, QUIET, excellent air conditioning. Easy walk to Front Street, which we did multiple times daily. The parking was great, grounds very well maintained. Both pools were clean and welcoming. The only slight downside was our unit needed some updating and a full size fridge. We had a tough time getting frozen pizzas to fit in the freezer, while our in-laws in another unit had a full size fridge and some updated decor. (not a deal breaker, but worth mentioning) Will stay here again for sure!

Yelp
Rude staff , and management doesn't care even if you complain. Very disappointing . Do not recommend

Yelp
We love to travel yet hate to leave our creature comfort amenities at home. I did extensive research on resorts and hotels and this one was a sure bet for me and my partner because it is in the heart of Lahaina and it's a semi-home away from home. Yes, there are some fees but compared to resort fees at other hotels around Maui, this is definitely the cheapest overall. Fridge, check. Washer/dryer, check. Stove, microwave, oven, check. Silverware, wine glasses, drinking glasses, coffee pot, tea kettle. plates, pots and pans, check. Cleaning supplies like dishwash soap, detergent, extra paper towels, toilet paper, tissue, check. Extra sheets, blankets, towels, pillows, ironing board, hairdryer, check. Privacy, check. I brought some essentials from home like a small bottle of olive oil for cooking, dryer sheets and Tide pods detergent. The hotel already provides two boxes of powdered laundry detergent and that was enough to do a load of laundry. We stayed here over Thanksgiving holiday. I booked my room direct through the Outrigger website in April or May 2016, so my nightly rate was only $129.00 per night. I signed up for Outrigger's emails and their other properties on Maui are also very reasonable. We stayed in room A106 and it was perfect for just the two of us. Roomy, homey, we like to cook and eat leftovers and drink without having to dress up. We stocked up on food and drinks from nearby Foodland, approx. 10 mins. walk. Safeway is also down the road but Foodland had a better selection and prices of hot foods, liquor, local foods, snacks. Check in was super easy, instructions super easy. Parking was super easy. This hotel is a lot bigger than it seems, buildings go on forever and not too noisy like hotels in Kaanapali. We rented a car from Alamo at Kahului airport and just parked on the hotel grounds, I did not have any energy to walk after being out and about all day to circle blocks and walk back to the hotel for free street parking. It was nice to just walk outside my room and find the car right there, ready to go on our daily adventures. Bed was cozy, AC and ceiling fans were quiet but we sleep with fans and ACs on at home, so we like 'white noise' while sleeping. I also sleep with ear plugs. This hotel was super quiet throughout our stay. We never heard anyone directly above us. Bathroom was clean, everything was clean in this unit. Yes lots of tropical creatures are everywhere, it is an island. We saw some of the little ants in the kitchen but nothing to be alarmed about as we did not leave food out and wiped down the countertops frequently. No big thing. Even though it was super breezy, it was a little humid. The hotel is immaculate. We hardly saw the staff and that's fine with me. The pool and Jacuzzi were never really busy during our stay here. The patio area (back of hotel) is also very nice. Will definitely stay here again and grill some meats! So nice to stay at a quiet hotel that I can easily walk to my room without having to wait for massive elevators or crowds. Stay here if you are a seasoned traveler and have factored in all the fees needed so you don't come up financially short (add: cleaning fee, parking fees, refuel gas before returning car rental, room taxes etc...) Don't stay here if you need your hand held or need to be entertained every waking minute.

Yelp
HIDDEN CHARGES INCLUDE A MANDATORY CLEANING FEE. Upon check in, you will be told there is a mandatory cleaning fee with additional taxes that is the equivalent of one more night's stay regardless of the length of stay or occupancy (see photo for the breakout). That cleaning fee is only on check out. Your room is not cleaned while you are here, but if you want towels or cleaning you can pay between $25-$115 daily for someone to clean your room. There are also daily parking fees (~$17.50) even though the hotel has its own parking lot with plenty of space. Do the math on this older property compared to a nicer, newer resort before you make your reservation. I felt scammed from the second I checked in and would have paid almost the same at a newer resort nearby for my short stay, but without the frustration.

Yelp
I'm going to include a lot of useful info in this review that I wish I knew more about before arrival... I gotta be honest with you...I was not happy with my first two days here. At check-in, they mixed up my friend and I's info and cards. Eeek. Then the kicker came when I went to my room and saw that they were still carpet cleaning it!!! I was in disbelief at first, but thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt, thinking they would be done soon, so I went to my friend's room and gave the front desk a call. What happened the rest of the day was a complete headache. They kept telling me "It will be done in 2 hours"....the problem was they said this 2-3 times. Here I was with no room and exhausted from my flight, I just wanted to put my sh*t down and relax! So around 8 pm (5 hours after checking in), they offered to put me up in another room for the night. I wish they could have just done this 5 hours ago!!! So there goes one star. The rest of the four stars go towards the general convenience of the hotel (walking distance from Front St) and driving anywhere wasn't bad either. Details: ONE-BEDROOM SUITE: **Kitchen - Full kitchen with fridge, microwave, stove top, oven, sink, toaster, blender, garbage disposal and dishwasher. Fridge has no water or ice dispenser, but you can get some in the pool area's ice machine. Also has pots, pans, utensils, cups, glasses, salt and pepper, paper towels, dishwashing and dishwasher liquid. Nothing else- so if you cook, you have to buy oil, etc. Counter with barstools to eat. **Living room - One queen-size pull-out sofa bed with small tv. AC in living room and ceiling fan. Door to outside balcony. Internet hardwire cable in this room; there is not WIFI in any of the rooms, FYI. **Bathroom - Nice tile stand-up shower (no tub), washing and drying machine (comes with 2 packs of Purex detergent for two loads), lots of towels (cream towels are for the pool), sink, ceiling fan. Some shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, toilet paper (3 rolls) and tissue provided. Hair dryer provided. **Bedroom - Queen size bed; quite comfortable. Has own AC unit and ceiling fan. Closet with iron, ironing board and some wooden clothes hangers and luggage rack. Also had tv in room. HOTEL: - Chlorine pool -Infinity saltwater pool (very nice) - Jacuzzi -BBQ grills (must be reserved earlier on in the day) -Cabanas by pool and lounge chairs -Smoking sections in 2 designated areas of vicinity. ***TIPS*** -5 minute walk to Front St. -Parking permit must be bought on first day if you wish to park in the lot ($15 a day). You cannot pay per day. Highly advised because it makes things so much more convenient!! -Lots of mosquitoes, especially around pool area. I got bit 4 times in 15 mins while sitting in the cabana! Get some OFF spray! - There is NO housekeeping, so you must clean up after yourself and wash your own towels. I hope this helps you all! I will include photos as well. Happy travels!

Yelp
We stayed here for 5 days in late March. When we arrived it was pretty late at night, and I was a little confused at first because the front desk is like a little outdoor pavilion. But once I realized that, hey front desks might be outdoors in Hawaii, we walked up and were able to check in. The room was really nice. This was basically a condo, with a bedroom, bathroom, full kitchen, and even a washer and dryer. Had we realized this, we could have not packed as many clothes, and had more room for gifts to bring home. our only complaints with the actual room were that besides the closet which you can hang clothes up, there wasn't anywhere else to put stuff. Literally not a single drawer in our bedroom. Also, it had a nice balcony, but there was no patio furniture. We pulled a chair out from inside, but a chair or two out there would have been nice. Also, I saw plenty of other units that did have patio furniture, so I suspect that each unit is not identical in what they contain. The first morning we were there, we went to an orientation with the hotel concierge by the pool. The pool is really cool, like an infinity pool that is just in the grass. First one I have ever seen like it. So anyways, the orientation was pretty informative, and they gave out a bunch of prizes at the end which were mostly buy one get one frees to various attractions. We won one for ziplining, which we ended up doing, and that saved us about a hundred bucks. So definitely attend the orientation, at least to get an idea of what to do. The location of the Aina Nalu is ideal for Lahaina. When you walk out the front of the property, you are about 2 blocks from the main strip in downtown Lahaina, where there's basically everything there. Overall, the price was pretty decent for what you get and the location. They do hit you with a mandatory cleaning fee, and we rented a car, so had a nightly parking fee as well. But that seems to be the norm in Hawaii, so won't hold that against them. Overall, This is a very nice hotel/resort, and a pretty good value, but it is not right on the beach, and there really isn't one within walking distance that you will want to lug all your beach gear to. We ended up driving to a couple beaches, which are less than 10 minutes drive away. So if you don't mind that, then this is a really nice place to stay.

Yelp
I stayed here for a week and I absolutely love the place! I would definitely go back :o) Location, location, location! It's located 2 short blocks away from Front Street where all the hip-happenin' spots are in Lahaina. Even though downtown is very close, it's very quiet once you get back to the condo and there isn't much foot traffic in the area. The rooms were very spacious and cozy with a modern, contemporary feel. Unlike hotel rooms, you don't mind hanging out for a while and don't feel rushed to leave to do something. I stayed in the H building on the 2nd floor and it was great. The unit had high ceilings and compared to the rooms of my relatives, that made such a difference. Having a fully equipped kitchen was definitely a big plus! Foodland is in walking distance and Safeway is a quick drive away. Stock up and save some money. Who wants to spend all their money on food if you can use that money for other things? The staff (front desk, cleaning and security guard) were so effing friendly. They deserve a big group hug! The pool area in back...so awesome! My relatives bbq'd in the lanai area (~50 people) and it more than accomodated all of us with its comfy poolside seating area with a flat screen tv. Nighttime swimming under the hawaiian moon with loved ones...can't get much better than that! The $15 parking rate does add up but everywhere has a daily parking rate. Yes, there's street parking available so that's some cost cutting right there. Since we didn't get the extra insurance on the rental car, we payed for parking. Some people complained about ant problems. Thank goodness we didn't have that problem. Sometimes we left a bit of food out overnight but luckily no critters. Hopefully they fixed that problem. Attention smokers...they're really big on the no smoking rule. Even when you check in, you initial an area that acknowledges you'll pay a fine if you smoke on the property. They do have two small smoking areas on both sides of the property to accomodate those needing to smoke. A bit of an inconvenience but it sure beats paying a couple hundred dollar fine! I really can't think of anything bad to say about this place...seriously! It was such a pleasant stay in a centrally located area. Definitely a great place for families to stay...you won't regret it!

Yelp
Really loved this location when a friend and I stayed in Maui back in April. The grounds were wonderful, the kitchen was spacious and had everything we could need, and having a washer and dryer accessible was a great bonus. The front desk staff was also very helpful. Side note: I could have spent way, Way, WAY more time in that salt water pool. The pavilion was also a nice place for my friend and I to share a beer at night (while also enjoying the WiFi). Sadly, there was one occasion where the security for the hotel wasn't around and it was clear that 3 people had snuck onto the grounds in order to use the pool (they were very loud, even making jokes about it, before inevitably going back to their SUV parked on the street and driving away). There's supposed to be security staff that checks visitors regularly and gives folks paper bracelets - indicating that they're staying in the hotel. They don't always check frequently at night though, and that night was particularly disrupted. All that aside, the place is also about, oh, 2 blocks from Front Street? Because of the location, there are great dining options that are super accessible...so enjoy some of the local fare while staying in a really comfortable and convenient space. I'd definitely recommend the Outrigger Aina Nalu over many, and more commercial, hotel options.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed in Aina Nalu in December 2009. Beautiful condo, clean, great furniture. Staff was very nice too, although our cleaning lady never left coffee while cleaning, but no problem in getting it at the front desk. By the way, coffee was delicious. Aina Nalu is right in the heart of Lahaina. Very close to Front Street with its very cute little restaurants and shops. Aina Nalu's main pool (there is also a smaller kidney shaped pool, with a deeper deep end, a bit of an amusing contradiction) is so beautiful. The whole atmosphere in Aina Nalu is just beautiful and serene. I am sure my husband and I will go there again soon. Also, you do not have to pay to use their parking lot if you have a car ($15 per night when we went). We found that there was plenty of safe, free parking on the street right in front of the property.

Yelp
Nice room and nice pools. Two stars because they charge $150 for late checkout although they messed up our keys. Let me elaborate, they gave us keys to the room next to us and we walked in with all of our stuff and noticed that the room was filled with personal belongings of the family that was staying there at the time. Thankfully they were not in their room..it would have been very awkward! Possibly one of the most embarrassing mistakes I've ever seen made by a resort. When I called to ask for the $150 late checkout fee waived due to our not-so-great start they just said sorry. It's as if all of their staff were hired yesterday. One more thing is that they have hidden fees (parking, for example). Make sure you've read about all of their additional fees before booking! I think next time we will be staying elsewhere.

Yelp
LOVE THE LOCATION! LOVE THE DECOR! LOVE THE SERVICE! LOVE THE POOLS! NOTHING BUT LOVE!!! If you want to stay in the heart of Lahaina without having to drive to the local shops & restaurants on Front Street, STAY HERE! This place has it all for a very reasonable price. My family and I, along with two of our best raveling buddies, stayed at one of Aina Nalu's two bedroom condo. We loved the modern and yet comfortable feel. There are also two pools and a jacuzzi on the hotel's grounds which we could not get enough of. I definitely appreciated the fact that this place was not a high-rise! I truly dislike staying in "paradise" and having to go through an elevator to go to our room. It's just annoying! This place definitely makes you feel like you're at home and trust me when I say we will DEFINITELY be back! Check my photos for a visual of our condo and the hotel's grounds!

Yelp
Just got home a few days ago form Maui. Felt it fair to give this place 3 stars, considering there are many great things about it. The salt water pool was amazing, it is a nice break from the beach. The staff at the Activities Kiosk located at the salt water pool were very helpful and, pleasant. The condos were clean and, are located in walking distance to shops and, harbor. They have washer & dryers, along with a kitchen. It was a life & $$$ saver having the kitchen. They do charge extra for parking, 17$ a day, you can get a cheaper rate at a lot close to the property. The front desk staff was not very helpful, when asked to do anything extra... Like if you lost your room key or needed to order more towels, they were pretty rude. Just so you don't have a surprise as we did, there are people living here on the property. So, it is by no means like an Outrigger resort or property I have ever stayed at before. The locals make you feel very unwelcome, my husband was harassed a few times. He lived in Hawaii before so, knew that there might be some, but I feel like if Outrigger is putting their name out there for a property, such as this that they make it known that people live here. We witnessed 2 domestic violence cases... Considered calling the cops but, we didn't want to get involved. Thought we would be targeted if we did. So, you can't totally relax because the locals make it known that you are not really welcome. Will not stay here again, think a resort would be more relaxing.

Yelp
After I paid in full for 2 nights ( $350) at check-in they demanded i sign the form for $208.00 cleaning fee that were not mentioned anywhere . Ridiculous ! Check in lady made me feel like the fact that i booked through travel agent is a favor to me, not to hotel because they need to sell rooms. Paying $208 cleaning fee prior even entering the room almost double the price for stay and its terrible from hotel side.

Yelp
I stayed here six years ago. Not much has changed since then. Things seem a bit worn down since then. +Both times got upgraded to a 2BR condo. +dryer/washer +full kitchen +affordable +close to restaurants and shops The AC in the master bedroom wasn't working, but after a call to the front desk, a technician was here in under 30 mins. Parking is $15 a night, but if there are no events going on during your stay, just street park. -Air conditioners emitted an odor. -Affordability means lots of families. All the lounge chairs tend to be taken at the main pool. Usually crowded. Overall, not bad for the value. It allowed us to bring one week's of clothing for our first island and then we washed our clothes here for the second part of our trip.

Yelp
I've wanted to stay at the Aina Nalu for a while. Although I do like most Outrigger hotels, I have a few things I like to mention about this one: 1) Although it is in the heart of Lahaina, the area right around Aina Nalu gets a little creepy at night. You have to walk about 4 blocks to get to Front St, and it can be 4 looong blocks at night. However, it is not too bad once you get used to it. I mean, this is Hawaii. 2) The room is very small. Although I got the 1-bedroom, it is a tiny 1 bedroom and I think most hotel rooms are bigger than this. However, it had everything you needed, kitchen, washer dryer etc. The a/c though, is really noisy. And you can usually hear people walking outside your room. 3) This is a boutique resort, and all the rooms are very close together and the grounds are smallish. There is also a lot of shrubbery so beware of bugs. 4) They charge for parking. However, the pools are beautiful and the decor is very modern. I'd stay here with a group of girlfriends who want to have a good time in Lahaina. My husband did not really like this resort as he is over the whole boutique concept. He thinks it's a ploy for small renovated hotels to charge higher prices because they are "boutique". I think he likes sprawling resorts and condos better. The prices at Aina Nalu are pretty reasonable so I wouldn't mind staying here again if the situation calls for it, but I think next time I am in Lahaina/Kaanapali and it's just the 2 of us, we'll stay at the Westin or Sheraton.

Yelp
The overall room is nice, like a little apartment with a stove and a couch. However, everyone needs to know there is no cleaning service daily included and they have a mandatory charge of at least 200$ to hire an outside cleaning service for your room on top of the room charge. Seems very deceitful since it is mandatory. I would much rather them include that in the overall price because we were not anticipating paying that high of a fee and would have stayed somewhere else where rooms would be cleaned daily. We booked through Expedia so they will be hearing from us as well.

Yelp
Here it goes my first thought was if you are staying here do not read the yelp reviews however I hope you read mine and trust in your stay. I first have to say, I booked directly through outrigger on the phone, there are vrbo's here and other but I did the hotel thing. I was nervous because of the "bug" reviews, first off it's the islands ghost ants and roaches are to be found, however, being that we spend a good amount of time in the islands we know how to not attract them and for our two week stay I can say we never saw one or the other our entire stay, so don't believe all the reviews. It is a bit noisy but honestly it's not that bad it's people walking by the rooms not watching their level of chatter, nothing else. Pros loved that this was walking distance to town, we barely used a car because of the location, I even found great shops that I would have never found if we weren't walking. I would for sure stay here again, just location alone. This is a place a lot of the locals stay also.

Yelp
When in Maui this is where I choose to stay. This Condo can easily accommodate my family of 4 with room to spare. I have stayed here twice thus far and loved it. It has everything I could ask for. A fully functioning kitchen with a full size fridge, oven, stove and stocked with every kitchen utensil that I needed. Being able to cook meals, even pack lunches for day trips saved me so much money. There was even a washer and dryer located in the bathroom which is a huge plus. What I loved most was its location. Right in the middle of Lahaina and literally walking distance to everything. 2 blocks from front street where you can find the most gorgeous sunsets and about a mile or so from Baby beach. This is my home away from home. Love this place.

Yelp
There was no initial greet upon arrival other than "what can I help you with" where I conveyed my reasoning for being on the property. I was told that I didn't have a reservation, that their was a technical problem with their computer system, and finally they blamed me for making my reservations seven to eight hours prior arrival time. Come on I'm in Hawaii or so I assumed that I would receive a warmer greet which would have been excellent when considering the we were here as part of my daughter's 15th birthday celebration. Also, there was NO transparency in the multitude of hidden charges as well as poor reception by organizational representation. When I purchased through HOTWIRE I assumed the the $335.00 whould cover two nights, however it's after you confirm your purchase that the first of several additional hidden fees become transparent i.e. $200.00 plus tax ($228.00) for housekeeping followed by a $200.00 deposit (that wasn't mentioned during the reservations) the I found out about after reviewing my bank account activity, and finally $17.50 parking fees (or it was suggested that I take a chance on street parking). I'm been in the customer service industry for more than 35 years and this this is a disappointing reality when an organization either exists as opportunist when taking advantage of consumers or when this industry fails at holding organizations accountable to a higher level of expectations and standards. The pool, hot tube, and location are the best thisng that OUTRIGGERS has going and that's not saying much in a community of beautiful beaches. So, please be aware of your decision making practices when choosing your stay destination while in Maui/Lahaina, Hl. Finally, HOTWIRE's diligently working on my behalf for reimbursement and restore my belief in hotel/the vacation stay industry. This should be an expectation in securing loyalty in consumers and in being truth and transparent in product delivery. Do the math $335.00+228.00+$200.00+$17.50(per night depending on the length of your stay). I wish that I could attach photo's of my accommodations.
