Airborne Roasting

This place used to have potential, but now it just feels heavy. The coffee is mid at best, kind of tastes like anxiety, to be honest. Staff always look like they’re walking on eggshells, and the vibe is straight-up tense. Saw the boss get visibly mad at an employee over something small. It was uncomfortable to witness. Not really the kind of energy I want to sip a latte in. The only good thing was that i was able to pet a dog since it’s at the farmers market. Also overpriced as hell!!

Delicious! My Wife & I have been stopping by Airbornes' booth for the last few years and have always enjoyed a cup of their coffee while walking around the Livermore Farmers Market.

The owner of Airborne is really nice and very passionate about his coffee. If you like dark roasted coffee and brew drip style or pour over then you may like this coffee. I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately I cannot recommend this coffee for any espresso based coffee drinkers who prefer to taste the subtle flavors of their coffee. I found that even their medium roast is oily and over roasted to a dark roast and you don't get subtle flavors. The coffee roasting isn't the same at all as what you get from some of the other local roasters.

Depending on how you like your coffee .If you are Starbucks-type of coffee drinker who like darker roast, & always add cream+sugar. Airborne is definitely an upgrade from Starbucks. However, if you're into specialty coffee and appreciate the finesse of lighter roast, airborne really isn't for you. Tried their beans at Hayward farmer market the other day, the lightest roast they got is medium, but even that, I think it's over roasted and taste like dark, completely inedible without cream + sugar

Phenomenal customer support for online coffee ordering, great coffee. Can't recommend enough. I left a question about flavor in my online order- and the co-founder followed up with me twice (I missed his call) to discuss and he was willing to rush deliver same day coffee if I was out of coffee for the next morning. WHO DOES THAT? These guys. Top notch company commitment and quality.

The folks at Airborne Roasting are really passionate about coffee. It is so good you'll think twice before adding anything but your lips to it. If you're a local don't miss an opportunity to "check-in" with them.

Best coffee I had so far. Delivered the same day as Roasted, great crema and taste. They even included an extra bag with the first order and helped with the selection!

We have loved Airborne Coffee for a number of years. We placed our most recent order in May 2025, about a $100 order. We never heard anything. This was unusual. My husband called repeatedly, sent emails. We don't know if something happened to the owner, we can't imagine what has occurred. It was great coffee and the people were very nice always. I hope they are okay. At this point, 3 months later, we are probably going to initiate a charge back on our credit card because we just have not been able to reach them at all by any means. If they happen to be reading this, please reach out to us.

This is for the Morning Buzz blend whole beans only. I ran across the Airborne Roasting stand at the Hayward farmers market, and asked about light roast beans. I was told they only have medium and dark, but the medium tastes pretty light. I asked if the beans were washed or natural, and she couldn't tell me, and wasn't even sure what that was. I should have taken that as a warning that these beans were not the same level as Devout Coffee roasters beans, which is what I usually get. However, since Airborne was cheaper than the beans I usually get from Devout Coffee, I went ahead and bought a pound of Morning Buzz. This morning, I brewed a comparison between the Airborne Roasting Morning Buzz, and my last remaining light roast beans from Devout Coffee, which at that point was several months old, whereas the Airborne beans where freshly roasted. Well, even so, the Devout light roast beans were far superior in taste than the Airborne beans. The Airborne tasted too burnt, and lacked those subtle flavors that make coffee so enjoyable. It was just a one-note band with loud speakers. My recommendation is, if you like a light roast, and sophisticated flavors in your coffee, get something else. I understand a lot of people do enjoy the burnt flavor (Starbucks, anyone?), but I wish they wouldn't have told me the medium roast tasted like a light roast: it doesn't. Note: in the end, with lots of sugar, lots of milk, and some heavy whipping cream, I was able to have a nice cup of coffee-flavored sweetness.

Heard some great stuff about this place from a friend and decided to give them a try. Called them up and spoke to Rowland, he was very informative and helpful with the ordering process. I grabbed their dark roast( Jet Fuel), it is amazing in both a French press or espresso setting. Definitely will be back for more.

Airborne Roasting is a pleasant surprise of a carefully curated, high-quality coffee roastery in Union City! My husband and I were en route to Berkeley on a coffee supply run. Long story short, our plans changed and found Airborne Roasting on Yelp. We connected with Roland (owner), which turned out to be one happy detour to our new go-to coffee roastery. Jet Fuel' roast has a bold and intense profile that will keep black coffee lovers like my husband coming back for more. On the other hand, 'Morning Buzz' and 'Barnstormer' are for coffee fans looking for more caffeine or milder and sweeter flavors. The best part is we are so very happy to be supporting a family-owned, local business that provides wonderful products and excellent customer service. Also, if you reside in Union City coffee delivery is free!

We tried Airborne at the Hayward Farmers' Market and were impressed! Great coffee and tea, along with warm, friendly service. My husband enjoyed his medium roast pour over, and I liked my iced tea (unfortunately, they didn't have their cold brew coffee, which would have been perfect on the hot day). We live in SF and are spoiled by all the amazing local roasters, so we have high standards for our coffee - we were quite pleased with the pour over here. The proprietors were lovely people. We were glad to hear about the soon-to-open Union City location, and, since we visit family in Hayward often, would love for them to open a location on B Street in Hayward! :)

Excellent coffee and Excellent customer service. Yes all my friends know I am a coffee snob, ad let me tell you this place is legit. Sometimes small coffee roasting houses try real hard and dont come through. Not the case with Airborne. Coffee was rich and crisp. Everyone was all smiles and willing to explain ratios and proportions of the pour over process. At this time I only know they sell at the Hayward Farmers market on Saturday and the New Park Mall Farmers Market on Sundays. If you are looking for the perfect pick me up go see them. Done forget to grab a bag or two to take home. Corporate coffee houses cant compete with the flavor ad customer service of this small batch roaster.

Airborne Roasting utilizes Honduras/Latin American beans for it's dark roast locale: Hayward Farmers Market (7/9/17) brew: drip brew (3) "rocket fuel". dark roast -,mostly bold tasting with a streak of sightglass taste within. drips: -ground beans available by the pound also -very friendly, cordial, looking for local space for retail coffee dispensing.

Roland and Mary are extremely nice and very knowledgeable about their products. Their beans are very good and make a delicious cup of coffee. I met them at the Hayward's Farmers Market and they suggested their signature coffee beans, "Morning Buzz." I bought a pound, which they ground right there and I tried a cup of their "Barnstormer." The MB was a medium roast while the Barnstormer was a medium/dark roast! BOTH do the trick, after all, no coffee no workee. After all that I mentioned how my wife only drinks decaf and Roland was generous enough to gift us a small bag of their medium decaf roast "Hand-glider." Just as promised the decaf coffee tasted just like coffee and had no traces of overly being roasted. Delicious!! This is a small roastery that is amazing. I thought I messed up my order for some coffee beans for my Mom, so I e-mailed them to call me. Not only did I get the requested call back within 20 minutes, the owner offered me a deal on some samples. He's so personable!

As someone that has cutback the amount of caffeine I have, Airborne Roasting is the only cup I'll have every week. So far, I've only had them every Sunday at the NewPark Mall farmers market but when they open their doors you bet your butt I'll be there. Fresh brewed coffee, great staff leading the way, and a great quality brew for a low price. This group of roasters know what they're doing and I'll for sure be a fan for years to come.

I had the pleasure of drinking this delicious coffee a Hayward's Farmer's Market. I ordered the peppermint mocha which had amazing rich flavor and gave me the boost of caffeine I needed. Roland and the crew were very nice and efficient. I will definitely return!

We're repeat customers. We have ordered coffee beans from Airborne Roasting already three times in a month. We like dark coffee, so they advised us to get Jet Fuel, their dark roast. It's delicious. Nicely balanced aroma and taste, and no chemical after-taste at all. Not only Airborne's coffee tastes great, their communication is timely, accurate, helpful, and their delivery quick. We are very impressed. Perhaps they could add more varieties as their business grows, maybe a couple of different origins for each roast level ... but that's just a bonus. As it is, Airborne is a wonderful roaster, and we hope they will thrive.

Had the best cup of coffee this morning at the Newpark mall farmer's market! Roland made sure that my coffee tastes were satisfied and matched me with the most amazing cup of Barnstormer, medium roast coffee, which I promptly purchased a pound of to take home and share. Stickers and honey sticks were also provided to my toddler. What amazing customer service!!

We hired Roland and Airborne Roasting for coffee service at our wedding reception in July 2018. I first met Roland at the NewPark Mall Farmer's Market last year, and I was impressed both with the flavor of his coffee (delicious) and with his warm and welcoming personality. At the time, I was planning my wedding, and I had decided that serving bad coffee to my guests would be one of the worst things that could happen on my special day (slightly less bad than my bride getting cold feet and skipping town, sure, but still bad). I thought he would be a perfect addition and so we hired him. He offered a very fair and affordable quote, and was always easy to contact to work out all the details of what we wanted. During the reception, he was a big hit! We had many guests complement us on the fantastic coffee and mention that they had so much fun chatting with Roland and his whole team, all very friendly folks. My wife and I are very glad we found Airborne Roasting and would recommend them to anyone.

Love Airborne, love their coffee. My wife and I love Airborne to pieces. The Barnstormer roast is our favorite and perfect for our palates. Nice and dark, but not burned like some local brands we won't mention. :-) We have also enjoyed Morning Buzz, which my mother-in-law prefers because of the lighter roast. We also like the small, curated selection. Cafes with seventy different blends and a dozen different roasts are fun, but I love that this small roaster takes the time and effort to make their offerings the best that they can be. There is passion behind this coffee. Shipping is inexpensive and if you're in the SF Bay Area priority mail will get it to you in one day.

I ordered a cup of morning buzz at the newark farmers market and had a great conversation with Roland. I learned a lot about the business and hope they expand more locally into Fremont and Union City. Oh, and the coffee was very smooth and aromatic too! The perfect compliment to my porchetta sandwich from the farmers market.

I had the pleasure of having this amazing coffee at the Hayward Farmer's market. The coffee is rich and smooth. I learned the difference between an auto drip machine, pour over and French press. I'm about to donate my coffee maker because this was life changing. Roland Feldmeier is super friendly and educated me as I wait for my coffee. He has a genuine personality and welcomes his customers feedback. Ela, his helper, she is a spitfire and is a great addition to this new company and will let everyone one know what a great cup of coffee is. I appreciate how they carefully select their beans from all over. They offer their own homemade creamers too. There's nothing boring or "already been done" about what they serve, that's for sure. Absolutely unique. I recommend to everyone you try it and you'll never go back to what you are currently drinking, well at least willingly. I want to mention that this company is also supportive and helpful to those with a cause. He has donated cold brew to sell at my daughter's high school cheer team car wash so they can raise money for uniforms, camp, competitions and ultimately Nationals. We sold lots of iced coffee with the homemade creamers and without surprise... any very happy customers! They really enjoyed it. In fact a customer came back for another car to be washed and a 2nd cup of coffee! It made the car wash way cooler and fancy. Thank you Airborne Roasting! You are going places!!!

Great coffee, locally made and well sourced. It's a great combo! You have three choices of roasts, but why subject yourself to the agony of choice when you can opt for the sampler and change it up each morning? Love their service and responsiveness, they've always been on the ball and gone the extra morning to make that morning cup-o-joe something special!

5/5! A great product with great service to back it up! I tried the Morning Buzz medium roast coffee (w/ cream added by me) and it was delightful! My boyfriend tried the Mocha which was the perfect nonsweetened combo of coffee and chocolate! Rollin pointed out a great pastry spot right across from their post at the Hayward farmers market. I look forward to coming here again!

Airborne is now at the Newark farmer's market on Sundays! We happened upon the owner a few weeks ago and encouraged him to branch out from Hayward to Newark. The coffee is amazing! I had a peppermint eggnog with their medium blend and my husband had a Barn stormer. Wow! We're serious about our coffee and this is "the real deal". I know we'll be back.

These guys totally rock. One time I placed an online order and it was delivered to my front porch in 36 minutes (I checked the time because I was amazed). Great stuff and customer service with a sense of humor. Another time we got home from a vacation and I sent in an order on Saturday evening and it was left (again, on my front porch) at 8:00 AM Sunday morning. Good product, excellent service.

Best cup of coffee I've had in a long long time.... I drink about 5 cups of coffee a day.... I dropped by the Hayward Farmers Market on a Saturday and absolutely love the coffee... Roland the owner takes great care of the coffee brewing process... Or as I usually chug down the coffee, I actually enjoyed sipping this coffee.

After one sip of the Morning Buzz..."this is 100 times better than Peet's" Came across this gem at the Newpark farmer's market and was impressed! The owners were super friendly, accommodating to our tastes and made a great recommendation for us. A local company using ethically sourced beans with a fantastic product? I'm sold!

I am an avid coffee drinker, I'm one of those people that NEEDS my morning cup. I can honestly say, the Jet Fuel definitely gave me what I needed to get through the day, and every cup is brewed individually! The owner is amazing, he really takes the time to make every customer feel special. Will definately be going back when I'm in the area

I love this coffee! I get a cup when I go to the Hayward farmer's market just about every Saturday. Coffee is always strong and usually the beans were roasted within the last few days which I love. Usually I also get the kids a hot chocolate as well. They always ask for hot chocolate the second I tell them we are going to the farmer's market.

The best coffee ever. The customer experience was excellent. This is part of my Saturday morning routine together with Mama's Bakeshop pastries across the aisle.

Airborne Roasting came out to our Sandia/LLNL Farmers Market today. When I got there, the line was already formed. I ordered the barnstormer with the pumpkin spiced creamer. I haven't had such a great coffee in a long time. I loved watching Roland, the owner, use the "pour over" method to brew his coffee and know that's what made the difference. I will add that he has great rapport with his customers as well. My friend and I both left enjoying our coffee. I will also mention that I'm a cream and sugar person but not today. The taste was too good to ruin by adding the extra. I also bought my husband a bag of the barnstormer to try. He hasn't made it yet but he loved the aroma coming from the bag. I look forward to our next Farmer's Market to try another one of Airborne Roasting's coffees.

Bold and smooth decaf. I'm not much of a coffee drinker these days, cannot handle the caffeine. Decaffeinated coffee has fallen short for me until now. I really enjoyed the smooth bold flavor of the Hang Glider decaf. I actually look forward to my next cup now. My hats off to the owner/ roaster/ barista. I will be back.

I cannot say enough good things about Airborne. Love their stand at the Hayward market every Saturday morning. They always have delish new creamers and combinations of roasts to try. They also made beautiful wedding favors for our wedding. Roland and team took their time to make sure every detail was perfect for our day. Highly recommended!

It's not the best mocha but definitely not the worst. For the quality I would have to say it's expensive. It was a bit watery but not as bad as other places. The guy at the booth was super friendly and seems to know every customer.

I like your coffee, but if your hours say your open: BE OPEN. I went out of my way to pick up some coffee today and the place was closed at least an hour before they were suppose to be... can't like what I can't drink...

This review is not about the coffee but rather the owner. This weekend I decided to go to the Hayward Farmers Market in downtown Hayward. I have been there before and I enjoy participating in local community events as a County of Alameda employee and resident of Hayward. I usually take my dog with me wherever I go as he is an ESA and I am accustomed to having him near me for medical reasons. The Farmers Market does not usually allow dogs inside as it is a health hazard however ESA and other types of service animals are the exception to this rule. As we entered the Farmers Market, Airborne Roasting had a booth at the entrance. The owner proceeded to yell at us for having a dog in the Farmers Market. My Fiancé told him our dog was a type of service dog, thinking the owner would understand and proceed with his day. The owner instead accused our dog of not being a service dog and claimed he needed to have an identifiable service dog vest. I am not required to make my dog wear a vest of any kind. I am required to have a doctors note Incase something like this does happen, which I do. My Fiancé was shocked that the owner had the nerve to question a common law that aids persons with disabilities. He encouraged the owner to read about service animals as they are not considered "pets" but rather a medical necessity. A worker of the Farmers Market quickly approached us after the incident and explained that dogs were not allowed in the Farmers Market. I told her he is an ESA and she quickly let us be on our way, even calling our pup cute. I wanted to write this review because I felt discriminated against. I hope the owner does not do this to someone else who may enter his establishment with a service dog or ESA. If you are a local business and wish to engage with the community, please read up on laws regarding persons with disabilities and their rights before you assume anything.

Grabbed a cup of Morning buzz at the Newark Farmer's Market. Roland is a passionate coffee roaster which is reflected in the quality and taste of his product! Have yet to try the irish creamer, mocha or other roasts but will go back.

This company is fantastic! They are incredibly creative and professional - a hard combination to find. I had an important event and needed a special gift for the VIP's and their guests. Airborne Roasting created a beautiful packaging for their delicious coffee that really highlighted the VIP's. I can not thank them enough for their reliability!
