"Aizle sits within the appropriately named Garden Room of the Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel – a bright, cool setting in the heart of the city. The constantly evolving menu takes on a surprise tasting format and is presented to diners as 'The Harvest', a list of produce to be featured in the meal rather than exact dish names. What follows is a series of creative and colourful dishes executed with craft and precision, all underpinned by top ingredients like prime Scottish venison. Be sure to try their house-made kombucha." - Michelin Inspector

20 Best Restaurants in Edinburgh | Condé Nast Traveler

"Entering Aizle—Scots for "ember"—is like walking into a warm, calm, countryside kitchen. Above worn wooden floorboards, a chalkboard displays a list of seasonal offerings, from beetroot and redcurrant to sea buckthorn and XO sauce. The scene is perfect for a good meal, one where curious and seasonal ingredients stand in for a conventional menu: hand-churned butter, homemade aquavit, and herbs grown by the chef. You never know what you'll get here—the set six-course tasting menu changes all the time—but you're in for some variant of local game, fish, and meat. The kitchen loves incorporating Asian flavors, too—perhaps yuzu or bonito flakes. Everything is made with the utmost care before it's beautifully plated and presented. This restaurant is all about romance, from the gently flickering candlelight to cozy tartan benches to the welcoming, even poetic, atmosphere." - Caroline Eden

Fantastic dinner at Aizle - a little nostalgic given it was going to be our last time dining….. and still as fabulous as ever! Brilliant team, hospitality and food - every course was delicious and we couldn’t pick a favourite. So well looked after - cocktails were divine, wine choice top notch too / snacks - totally set the scene for dining excellence - thank you Aizle for some insane birthday celebrations over the past 10 years. X

Great food in a friendly, cozy atmosphere. Food at Michelin level, service almost (though they may be better of with their current formula!) Very attentive and professional staff bringing a fantastic night together. Thank you.

Had such a great time at Aizle. The food was amazing — super creative and full of interesting flavour combinations. You can tell a lot of thought goes into every dish. The atmosphere was relaxed but still felt special. We did the wine pairing and it matched the food perfectly. The staff were really friendly and knew a lot about what they were serving, which made the whole experience even better. If you like trying new things and enjoy a unique dining experience, definitely give Aizle a try. We’ll for sure be back!

Wow! My favorite restaurant experience in all of Edinburgh! My mother and I also did the wine pairing along with the tasting menu and it was wonderful. Lovely selection of wines and every single bite of food was creative and interesting. Not an inexpensive experience but certainly worthy of a visit for foodies or those looking for a memorable dining experience. I will highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Edinburgh!

From the very first bite, this dining experience was a journey of refined flavors and artistry. The starters were a visual and culinary delight — delicate tartlets adorned with edible flowers, perfectly paired with light, airy bites topped with shavings of cheese. The salmon course was outstanding, silky and tender, topped with crisp shoestring potatoes over a creamy, herb-infused sauce. The chicken was cooked to perfection, juicy and tender, complemented by charred spring onion and a silky purée, elevated further in the evening service with a rich, glossy jus and earthy mushrooms. A vibrant plate of chargrilled greens, fresh micro herbs, and hazelnut added a refreshing touch to the menu. Every plate felt thoughtfully designed, balancing flavors and textures while being presented with elegance. The wine list matched the sophistication of the dishes, and the attentive, friendly service made the entire evening feel special. This is the kind of place where every detail matters — and it shows

I was looking forward to try their 7course tasting menu since everyone here said it’s very good. It started off quite well because we were really impressed by the starter pork belly skewers. It was so juicy and tender. So we were kinda excited for the next few dishes. But unfortunately everything went downhill afterwards. Four of us ordered two wine pairing and two soft drink pairing. I can only say terrible choice of wine. It’s basically matching red wine to red meat etc. somehow the paired wine ruined my dishes because it was just terrible and taste cheap. Overall expensive was just so so.
