I loved this hidden gem! They are fairly new so not a lot of reviews yet, but they should have a ton at this point. They are five stars in my book. From the moment I walked in I was greeted several times. They gave me a warm towel to clean my hands. The Fireball roll was recommended and I’m so glad it was. I will dream about that roll until I can come back. 10 out of 10 highly recommend!

### Review for Aji Sushi Grill, Federal Way ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently had the pleasure of dining at Aji Sushi Grill for a birthday celebration with a group of 12, and I can't say enough good things about our experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with great service that set a wonderful tone for the evening. The meal began with hot towels and a delicious soup that was the perfect start. The menu offered excellent choices for rolls, and every dish that came out was not only plentiful but also beautifully presented. The freshness of the sushi was remarkable, and I truly enjoyed every single bite. The staff was incredibly helpful, providing great recommendations that enhanced our dining experience. My favorite dish was the omakase, which was the first to arrive at our table. The sushi chef showcased his skills with expertly cut fish that was simply amazing. Despite our large group, all the food came out quickly, allowing us to enjoy our meal without any delays. It was a fun and memorable evening, filled with laughter, delicious food, and great company. I can't wait to go back to Aji Sushi Grill for another round of their fantastic sushi! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for fresh sushi and excellent service.

I didn’t expect to find a place like this. It’s calm, clean, and there’s something comforting about the way the sushi is prepared here. You can taste the freshness, but it’s more than that—it feels honest. The people are kind without forcing a smile, and the space makes you slow down and actually enjoy your food. I left feeling grateful and somehow lighter. I’ll be back. ❤️ best 100% Korean! 👍👍👍

Saturday early evening/late afternoon was my first time here. Staff is friendly and fast. The dining room and restroom were very clean. The ambiance was okay, had music playing a bit too loud for an establishment like this. I had the Omokase combo B which seemed to be $6 cheaper than a past review I saw. I was dining solo and the waiter was kind and mentioned that was a lot for one person. He was right and I ended up not finishing all of it leaving 3 rolls. It was fresh and presented beautifully. I'll come back again soon on a date with my Wife.

My boyfriend and I just got done watching a movie on Tuesday and we were craving some good food. We arrived about 50ish minutes before they closed and it was empty. The chefs and waitress greeted us and the waitress got us some menus before leading us to a table that was half booth and half chairs. The sauce bottles here were probably the nicest looking soy sauce bottles that I have ever seen. The interior is okay, nothing really special or really going for a theme. It felt more like a bar vibe with the hanging lights, furnishing and colors. My boyfriend decided on the Seared Scallop Roll and smoked salmon nigiri while I got the Tonkotsu ramen. We got the nigiri first then the ramen and after several minutes is when we got the last item. I don't know if they had wrapped up for the day and that's why it took so long but it was also awkward eating as different items arrived at different times. The ramen broth was different as I am not used to it being a beef broth but it was almost extremely salty. The lack of usual toppings such as wood ear mushroom, bamboo shoots, corn, and etc. was disappointing especially with the price ($19) and how many Federal Way ramen spots offer that for a better price and taste. In addition, my egg did not have yolk in it which was strange and it's a critical point of a ramen egg. I will admit that the chashu was delicious and I appreciate the amount of fish cakes provided, but that's my bias as I love fish cakes. My boyfriend was content with his sushi which is good and it was presented well. Service was prompt and somewhat professional. Our waitress seemed nice but she would start pacing around us towards the end and kept near us as we were finishing our meal. I understand that they were trying to close but circling around us trying to look busy to get us to pay is not the way to make us feel welcome. I understood as I was a waitress but she could have mentioned that they were closing soon and leave the receipt on our table. I am a slow eater and it feels more pressuring to have someone be close while I'm eating to eat. We might return but not sure as the experience was extremely awkward and I rather go to other sushi restaurants in Federal Way that are far superior in taste, price and service. Definitely would arrive earlier to give it a better shot.

Yelp
Water and miso soup brought before ordering. Expansive menu with pages of rolls with fun names. Quick friendly service. Fresh flavorful rolls. Unassuming exterior in small strip mall but interior is warm and inviting.

Yelp
I haven't visited Aji Koharu Sushi & Grill since the new name popped up on the marquee. Visited numerous times when the name was simply 'Koharu'. The decor was subtle, quiet and subdued lighting, the Miso Soup extraordinary. When I wanted to get my sashimi (raw fish) fix, Koharu was my go to restaurant. I'll make it a point to revisit to find out if there are new owners or it's a completely new restaurant. Going by my previous visits, I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Our 2nd time here ordering to go. We ordered the Crunch rolls, Cali rolls, caterpillar rolls, & "I need a bottle water" sushi(not pic). They all tasted good & fresh. Ginger slices are good & not dry like other places. The lady at the counter is always pleasant.

Yelp
We didn't expect much, but everything about this place was amazing. The atmosphere, the service and the food. I'm sorry I was just visiting the area, because I'd love to eat here again.

Yelp
Beautiful presentation nice friendly staff affordable prices for Seattle area. Very fresh and flavorful.

Yelp
This rebranded Federal Way icon restaurant definitely has a talent for rolls. The sunshine roll with a bounty of tuna and a crab center is truly a classic. The apple tuna roll which was my second pick was complimented by the wasabi mayo that gave it the perfect coating that left nothing to desire. The only step down was the nigiri, I got hamachi and maguro ... that needed some lift, not sure what ? Customer service was warm and friendly, pricing was reasonable and ambiance was welcoming. My next visit will try the Galbi, grilled short ribs and the sushi combo plate. Can't wait ... Glad to see them open again.

Yelp
Took parents out to lunch because my dad raved about the sushi rice bowl. To my surprise inside is very spacious, clean, and great ambiance. Warm hand towels given with complimentary tea and miso. Food came out quickly and food quality was very fresh and clean! Presentation of the food was very pleasing as you can see the extra decoration on the plate. Portions are good size and I would def recommend the sushi rice bowl as my dad cleaned the bowl 2 days straight! On the pricey side for the area but would recommend this place if you are looking for a good quality sushi place in the area!

Yelp
Came here with 4 adults and 3 kids for dinner on a Wednesday night. We were seated at a table and greeted with warm hand towels, miso soup and water. I really like the vibe since the update. We got a total of 7 rolls, yakisoba, the 8 piece omakase special, 2 pc salmon nigiri and salmon hand roll. Everything was great. Felt clean and the staff were great! They checked on us often and made sure we had everything we needed. They were super honest about us not double tipping and I appreciated that gesture. My favorite was the aji roll and the smoked scallops roll. The salmon hand roll was also pretty good. The portions were also generous imo and they didn't skimp on the ginger and wasabi. Every plate had some. Would recommend. FW is upping its' sushi game!

Yelp
The food is good. The sushi rolls are always delicious. The service is what is the problem...always slow even when it's not too busy. Dont expect you to get water refills unless you wave them down at least 3x. Food comes out over 45 minutes later. Found a hair in our salad and just got a "sorry." No Customer service adjustments. Idk if ownership realizes that either they need better systems to work with, or work on improving overall customer service.

Yelp
Review update. Service is good fish taste of good quality. The rice was much improved over the last time. Will keep it in the sushi spot rotation now.

Yelp
We loved it! Went on a double date with good friends who love sushi and were not disappointed. Great variety of dishes including rolls. Fish was fresh and tasteful. Very nice servers and atmosphere. Look forward to going back soon.

Yelp
Im glad I found this hidden gem. It is one of the top sushi restaurants in Federal Way. The area is nice with plenty of parking spot. The inside of the restaurant is big. The seating are spacious and have comfy padding. Each table is quite far apart for your privacy. It is kid friendly They have a nice sushi bar where you can see the chef making the sushi and getting your food. The restroom is spacious and super clean as well. The food is 11 out of 10. The price is very reasonable for the amount of food and the quality of the ingredient in each roll. They definitely did not cheap out on the decoration and presentation of each dishes We have such a great time dining here. Our server was super friendly and helpful. Service and quality is comparable to any fancy restaurant in downtown Seattle at a fraction of the cost. They were quick to bring out the food/ soup/ tea. Our server checked in with us a couple times to make sure i have everything i need

Yelp
The restaurant was clean and beautiful inside. Nice atmosphere and a friendly greeting going in. Ordered sushi to take out and it was packaged well, good portions for cost and excellent quality. I'd definitely go back.

Yelp
Good Quality! Love that the meals aren't too full of bad oils and overly sweet - you can taste the quality which is hard to find lately! The servers are all very friendly and don't mind my particular requests . I'm very picky so 5 stars is above average in my mind.

Yelp
This place was a wonderful surprise. Being newer, I wasn't really sure what to expect but so glad we gave them a shot. From the minute you walk in the people are friendly and the place is very clean and quiet. Good music playing. The food... the food here is top, top tier. The rolls have amazing flavor profiles that blend perfectly and the fish is so fresh and delicious. the salmon nigiri was so soft like butter and the slices were thick. Pictured are the salmon mania, Kona roll, Philadelphia and the Snow shadow rolls. Also, monkey brain and salmon nigiri. All were amazing. Hands down the best sushi I've had in a while. Will be back, many times, and bringing friends to try more

Yelp
Ordered of the Lunch menu. Everything was good. Food, service, and quantity. Atmosphere nice also. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Aji Koharu Sushi & Grilled is a must-visit. It located in 31840 Pacific Hwy S. Suite C, Federal Way. They have amazing customer service and atmosphere. Before ordering, they gave us hot miso soup and hot towels which is a great start that I never experienced in other sushi restaurants. I try the Three times Lady rolls, Kona Rolls, Im on Fire and Sashimi Omakase B for my family, they are very fresh and high quality. We also have the apple sake and house sake which is perfect with sushi.

Yelp
I am in love with this place! The quality of food is amazing and it is soooo delicious. Interior is very cozy and pretty. Service is always great! And I can't stop talking about reasonable prices for the best quality food I can get around this area! 100% recommend trying out :)

Yelp
Our fav quick japanese food go to... clean and fast service. We try everything on the menu! We come here at least 2-3x a month.

Yelp
I've been a regular at Aji Koharu since the days of the original Koharu under the previous two managements, and I'm thrilled to see how this place has continued to evolve. The food and atmosphere just keep getting better with time. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the dishes and the beautifully designed decor. Each plate is presented so luxuriously, it instantly whets your appetite and enhances the dining experience. Aji Koharu is truly a gem that never fails to impress!

Yelp
Very Good. Chirashi Bowl Excellent! Nice and clean room chairs tables. Great Services

Yelp
New sushi joint made it's way to Federal way. We've tried their New Castle location and it was really good and fresh. This place was just as good and fresh. Parking is available and their service was lovely. Slightly slower...but staffs were very kind. Pricing point is pretty high...two pieces of salmon nigiri cost $9. Not a place we would come often but we would go here once in a while.

Yelp
Service was outstanding! Hot towels, our soup and choice of our beverage was immediately delivered to our table. Outstanding presentation of super fresh ingredients tastefully displayed and everything was delicious. Music was an added delight! Will be coming back and spreading the word. Exceptional dining experience-well done!

Yelp
Love the food, you gotta know what to order. Lady the server is always extremely polite and apologetic. Love this place.

Yelp
The old Koharu now has new ownership. They have the best, most reasonably priced Japanese food from Tacoma to Seattle. I am so glad I live less than 10 minutes away. I am so impressed.

Chris M.

Yelp
The food and service were top notch. This place is new and wonderful. Very fresh sashimi and very creative rolls. The portions were very generous and we left with a takeaway box. The restaurant is new (open 3 weeks), so the inside is very clean, nice, and patrons were polite and quiet. Our server was very friendly and quick.

Yelp
Love this new sushi and Grill restaurant!! The staff is wonderful. Service is outstanding. Food is both gorgeous and tasty!! Highly recommend!!!

Yongjae K.

Yelp
Aji Koharu Sushi is the best place for great quality food. My daughter loves their sushi and sashimi and I personally don't eat seafood but their bento, appetizers, and kitchen foods are also amazing! The quality and pricing is just outstanding. The service is really great too. Especially Ellie is always so kind and helpful! I will always go back for their great food!

Graydon A.

Yelp
I was so excited to see a new sushi place! I had the best tuna tataki I had in 5 years! the gyoza was excellent! I am so excited to go back and try their rolls! service and atmosphere...wonderful!

Yelp
Came in today with a group of friends with no expectation based on the exterior and let me tell you I have never experienced such exceptional service our waitress was absolutely the sweetest most accommodating lady ever! the service was very quick we ordered so many things off of the menu and loved absolutely all of them, the presentation of the sushi and appetizers were very unique! Before we got our food we even got warm damp towels to wipe our hands with that is just so thoughtful and smart I have never seen any restaurant do something like that, in addition their interior is so clean and beautiful, just such a pleasant environment the bathrooms were also super clean! if you're looking for a sushi place in Seattle auburn area this is definitely the best you will not regret. we are from out of town but whenever we go back to Seattle this will be one of the first places we go to. Thank you Aji Sushi for giving us the most unforgettable service. And too top all of that when we were leaving the waitress gave me a hug, she was so genuine it felt like we were part of her family!
