The Essential Guide to Osaka, Japan

"Ajikuraya is a must for okonomiyaki—thin batter mixed with shredded cabbage and your choice of pork, beef, or seafood, grilled tableside and finished with mayonnaise, sweet sauce, and powdered seaweed—with six different okonomiyaki sauces and 20 toppings to experiment with, tables that seat up to six, and a recommended tonpeiyaki to share (grilled pork belly wrapped in an omelette)." - Kim Kay Kim Kay Kim Kay is a freelance writer with a focus on Japan travel and culinary culture. The Okonomiyaki here was absolutely delicious. It was cooked to perfection, with a nice crispy exterior and a soft, flavorful inside. The combination of ingredients was well-balanced, and the sauces added just the right amount of tang and sweetness. Each bite was satisfying and left me wanting more. The portion size was generous, making it a great value as well. The friendly atmosphere of the restaurant made the experience even better. I would definitely come back next time I’m in the area to enjoy this dish again.

I came by around 6:30 in the evening and was pleasantly surprised that there was no wait at all. I ordered both the okonomiyaki and the yakisoba to try a bit of everything. The food does take some time to prepare, so I would recommend ordering as soon as you sit down and just enjoying the atmosphere while you wait. Out of the two dishes, I personally liked the yakisoba more since it had a great balance of flavor and texture. The okonomiyaki was still tasty, but the yakisoba stood out for me. One thing I really appreciated was that they had bottles of sauce on the side so you can adjust the flavor to your own liking. They also had a big container of katsuobushi, which was a nice touch because you can add as much as you want. Overall, the experience was enjoyable, the food was satisfying, and I would be happy to come back again to try more items from the menu.

Vibe is amazing. Staff are kind and lovely. Loved every minute of being here. However the taste - don’t get me wrong, its absolutely delicious, but it didn’t feel like a real okonomiyaki. Its something else of its own. It has so much ingredients inside it that it breaks on its own. I dont know how to explain it. You should go and try it out yourself.

Very disappointing experience. The reservation website did not mention any dining time limit. At the reception, no one told us the table must be returned in 90 minutes and we were only told when we sat down at the table. When we tried to order food and drinks, the QR code didn’t work. We asked the staff for assistance and clarification about the dining time policy, but the staff was extremely rude. He showed the restaurant’s reservation page in a disrespectful manner and gave no explanation about the time limit. We also showed him our reservation confirmation, but he couldn’t find any relevant rules either. On top of that, the staff refused to assist with the QR code issue and kept repeating that we still had one hour left — which made it feel like they didn’t want to help. This was the worst service I’ve experienced at a restaurant in Japan during my trip. Definitely not recommended.

I made a reservation and visited. It was so delicious that I'm curious about all the other menus. I will definitely recommend it to my acquaintances visiting Osaka

A spot recommended by a LUSH staff member in Dotonbori. Both the Yakisoba and Okonomiyaki were delicious. Thankfully, it stays open late into the night.

I recently visited Osaka for business and my japan partner reserved this nice Teppenyaki restaurant. They have Okonomiyaki and other seafood. I think their food is very delicious! The price is reasonable. I will definitely visit it again.🥰👍
