What a find! Fresh, creative, and delicious sushi. And at a reasonable price! Service is friendly and attentive. Sit at the bar and have a chat with the chef/owner. He’s talented, dedicated, and perceptive. He’s really paying attention to his customers even when it seems like he isn’t. A thoroughly pleasant dining experience. A real gem.

Very nice experience eating here. Had a chance to meet and talk with the owners and had a great conversation with them. They love jazz and the decor consisted of various jazz artwork and instruments (with jazz music to complete the ambiance) The food was delicious and was complimented with a nice cold beer. Will be visiting again...///

Google
It’s a friendly neighborhood sushi place in WeHo, not fancy just a small place with small outdoor seating and couple seats inside. The service is a little slow but good, I came at the busy time so it took a while for the food to arrive: The menu is quite affordable, and the fish is good quality and the pieces are big. The spicy tuna on crispy rice is good and interesting, never had it in any other sushi place. The sushi comes in two pieces per order and the fish cut is pretty generous, and each piece taste very fresh. The trump roll is delicious, highly recommended.

Google
I love Ajisai. I’m so lucky to live so close by and within walking distance - this is by far my favorite sushi in LA. Always fresh, amazing service, and friendly staff!!

Google
I was heartbroken when my old sushi spot (Yoshi’s on Santa Monica blvd) closed down but after several visits I can honestly say this place has absolutely taken the top spot. By far the best sushi in weho - fresh, delicious, great variety, and wonderful, friendly owners in a jazzy, Murakami-esque environment. I can’t recommend Ajisai enough.

Google
Cozy atmosphere, friendly staffs, and great food. Ingredients are definitely fresh! As a tourist, I feel like this place would be considered as a hidden gem due to how ‘low-key’ the place is.

Google
Top three fav sushi spots in West Hollywood that’s not overdone— it’s like literally the perfect neighborhood sushi spot. Casual, but still good ambiance— really good balance! The sushi is really yummy (my favorite is albacore with the chili garlic sauce - it's so good that my friend and I came 2 days in a row for them!, and all of the rolls are super fresh and delicious.) Not one bite of fish was off! Super nice owners (extra special bc they're a mother son duo). They also speak Korean!

Google
What a great place to catch up with a friends over sushi and spirits! This place has a calm ambient vibe with an overall relaxing atmosphere. The service was great too, servers were very attentive. Most importantly, the quality of their fish was very fresh and put together masterfully. I had an overall great experience here, and will be back.

Yelp
Delicious sushi at decent prices! Enjoyed the Mr. Shoei and Mr. Clinton rolls. Compared to other sushi places, seems like there are less specialty roll selections but more sushi/sashimi options

Yelp
Super small and cute little restaurant- the staff is very kind and welcoming and give it a family style feel. The pork gyoza is a must and the veggies were tasty as well, we added a dash of soy to give it some additional flavor. The salmon was delicious and a perfect starter. The rolls were so fresh and and filling too- the selection is perfect, although I do wish there were a couple more specialty roll options.

Yelp
My dear friend who is the mayor of Weho brought me here to celebrate her award for from StoneWall Honors 2024. I just fell in love with the service and the cuteness of this restaurant. The ambiance was cozy and had such a great vibe. Everything we ordered on the menu was delicious. The miso soup was delicious along with all the food down to the green tea ice cream. I will be back again and so glad she showed me this place!

Yelp
I loved this restaurant! Very quaint and cozy inside and note that it's street parking only so depending on time of night you might need to use the lot right next door. Palm has a few meters but it's permit parking as you go north FYI. I've been presuing the multiple Japanese options along Santa Monica Blvd and I think this spot is my favorite. Prices were fair and service was a bit slow but with only 2 runners, I didn't mind at all because... Their Biscotti is THE best spicy tuna on rice I've had so far in LA. Huge portions of the tuna on a bed of their crispy rice. Must get! Dragon Roll was also great. They do not skimp on the spicy tuna and I adore them for that. Dynamite is a casserole looking dish and I LOVED it as a scallop person. It's basically a lot of scallop and mushrooms cooked in a cream cheese, can't get more decadent than that! Eager to try more of their dishes!!!

Yelp
I was really excited to try this place, it's walking distance away, and really cute! I wasn't overly impressed with the sushi or sashimi, I felt like it could be better. Not too thrilled by the Mr Trump roll, didn't like that the menu had a political slant, there were other presidents too, but, Trump?!? This is Weho and I don't live here to be reminded that Trump exists when I am eating Sushi. Otherwise, it was a good regular place, nothing special and quite pricey. No miso soup included as complimentary starter, which is pretty standard. Prices were kinda high, I get it...but, I thought $10 for garlic edamame was over the top. Probably won't return, there's other places that are better near by.

Yelp
Been coming here for years. Can't believe I haven't left a review. By far one of the best sushi places in Los Angeles. I'm probably the pickiest eater on the planet, so you can only imagine how I am with sushi. Obsessed with the owners and the people who work here, and the absolute freshest tasting most delicious sushi ever. So consistently delicious I used to pick it up for dinner every Friday night when I lived close by. Love you Ajisai!

Yelp
My husband and I were on our way to our long time go to sushi spot in the same area one day. As we were strolling by we noticed this little hidden gem. With the quality of our other sushi spot going down we decided to bite the bullet and give this place a shot. We absolutely fell in love! The sushi chef Mr. Shoei and his wife Jenny are so sweet. The sushi is always flavorful and fresh. We were so confused as to why they're not as busy as they should be. Since then we've been making it a point to go at least twice a week. If we didn't have a little one we would be there weekly. This is now our new favorite go to sushi spot! We even took the little one not too long ago and she loved it!

Yelp
Best sushi i've had in LA. Consistently fresh, friendly staff, great service. Highly recommend going here.

Yelp
It's true what they say about the most delicious food being served at 'hole in the wall' restaurants. Ajisai is no exception. I've been enjoying this sushi restaurant nearly every weekend since I moved to Los Angeles three years ago. Every dish is consistently fresh, whether it's sushi, sashimi, rolls, chicken or my favorites, Dynamite & Korean BBQ Ribs. The service is also consistent in being warm & welcoming, knowledgeable and best of all, quick & efficient. The ambiance? Cozy and somewhat loud with happy diners chatting or laughing. So stop on in and experience this West Hollywood Japanese local favorite for yourself. Reservations are highly recommended.

Yelp
I haven't been to every sushi spot in LA but of all I've tried this is about the best. Great ambiance, delicious sushi, friendly staff and reasonably priced.

Yelp
Great little place to eat at. The service was really great and the food was delicious if ever in town give it a shot.

Yelp
This is a small space so plan ahead. Parking is tight. Make sure you read the signs and feed the meter. The menu is nice. Limited rolls but the ones they have are good. Soups and salads are fresh and tasty. Service is very quick and they bring the food out just as fast. There seems to be a lot of repeat business as the sushi chef knows the customers by name. I received excellent service. I was here once before but years ago. I was happy with the food (we had table reservations) but I forgot to take photos as it came out. We were having such a nice time. Ugh -- side note. There were six of us.

Yelp
This place never disappoints. My boyfriend and I discovered this location walking around WeHo we decided to stop by and we loved our experienced and we've been coming here for 2 years and counting

Yelp
To my Yelp community, I feel compelled to share this treasure of a spot. I'm thrilled to have been shown this wondrous gem! I'm Pretty sure you can't go wrong w any options on this menu, but here are my recommendations; Let me know what you think! First of all - a must order... the grilled spicy shrimp roll- I was sceptical at first when my husband ordered this, but when it was brought to our table I shrieked w delight! of course I forgot to take a photos as I scoffed it down, but let me describe to you. Perfectly seasoned shrimp, tobiko, aioli mix... in a cut roll, each side perfectly crisp. The flavour was perfect followed by the crispy warm rice. The live scallop- served w yuzu kosho and yuzu juice, just perfect, then we were oh so thoughtfully served the scallop muscle sautéd w shiitake mushrooms in its shell. Such a thoughtful use of ingredients, well done chef! Overall incredibly fresh seafood done w care, thoughtfulness, passion, and craft! My friends- give this place a try! You won't regret it!

Yelp
Love this adorable, classic sushi restaurant. It's right on Palm across the street from Santa Palm Car Wash. Inside it feels a bit like Little Tokyo because it's very cozy and looks like an authentic Japanese sushi place with bamboo frames, yellow walls and some Japanese decorations. Nothing flashy here, and it's really charming. The rolls are fantastic. I love the names of the rolls... the Bill Clinton roll is my favorite. Great bottomless iced green tea. Be sure to make a reservation because they don't have many tables inside and they get booked up. Was lucky and just walked in today when it was not busy. My favorite seat is the table for two by the window. Great place for a date! There's metered parking on the street, or try the paid lot just to the west or one of the West Hollywood parking structures...one is a 5 minute walk east.

Yelp
I've been coming to this place since it's open, I absolutely love it. The owners are delightful and the staff is fantastic! Absolutely, hands down, in top three sushi places in LA. You have to check this place out!

Yelp
This is the kind of cozy, off the beaten path sushi joint that feels like a secret. The vibe felt a lot like a tiny place on a backstreet in Japan. Most importantly the fish was the highest quality. Simple and classic with a few flourishes like the halibut with yuzu which tasted so bright and refreshing and the albacore with garlic which provided just the right amount of kick. The sweet shrimp needed only a spritz of lemon since it was so fresh. And sitting at the bar we got to know the chef/owner and the staff who were so friendly. Will definitely be returning whenever we get over to W Hollywood. A much better option than Nobu just down the road. Just as tasty, not a scene and the type of small business that makes you feel welcome and special. Such a great find!

Yelp
Hot sake, edamame , spices tuna roll, Clinton roll, crab roll, yellowtail sushi, vey good. gluten free. I had crispy tuna and maybe a very tiny mild reaction from that. I have eaten here several times and only once a tiny reaction and I would guess from the crispy rice w/ tuna, they offer tamari

Yelp

Yelp
Always amazing. This is by far my favorite sushi restaurant in la. It's a small hidden place but the best quality of both food and service. Love the owners and staff. My partner and I visit her at least once a week and absolutely love them.

Yelp
Was super impressed by this location. The fish was so fresh, the owners are so nice, and the vibes are immaculate. So comfy and cozy. Would definitely make this a regular date night spot

Yelp
Simple and straightforward sushi spot that's around the corner from the WeHo scene. It's a small and quiet place with reasonable prices. Hits the spot if you're looking for some decent sushi! We got the Caterpillar, Mr. Clinton, and Salmon Rolls. The Caterpillar was sweet with a good amount of unagi and avocado. Mr. Clinton was really delish with tuna and shrimp. Both were really good, but I preferred Mr. Clinton for the overall balance. The Salmon Roll was simple, but had a good amount of salmon so was happy about that. Overall, a decent sushi spot if you want something in the WeHo area without breaking the bank Also, large Hot Sake for $9 which is a great way to start the night!

Yelp
Sushi and sashimi is excellent.their history is fun to hear about and it is small, intimate and out of the way. A pleasure to be there.

Yelp
The best sushi secret in LA. Mr Shoei, the owner chef takes pride and perfection. Simply the best.

Yelp
Small sweet neighborhood spot Delicious sushi Quiet and welcoming vibe! None of the throbbing WeHo energy Just love

Yelp
Manager on 8/3/24 in the evening 6pm did not honor the birthday girl's complimentary meal she was promised when making reservations for a party of twelve. Stated if he did it for her he would lose his job. BS! Her birthday was on 8/4. He told her she could come back tomorrow. I would not have him managing my establishment. Honor what was told or don't offer it at all. And then he had the nerve of giving her the check instead of me. He knew she was my wife and the birthday girl. He definitely did not do right.

Jaime S.

Yelp
Visiting LA for a short family vacay and decided to try Ajisai when everyone agreed we were in the mood for sushi. Food was excellent (the biscotti apps were especially delicious!) and everything tasted fresh. The service was fast and friendly. Loved the jazz playlist.

Yelp
My go to neighbor hood sucho spot very small but has big flavor and great staff and service

Yelp
If your idea of ok sushi includes grabbing prepackaged rolls out of the cooler at, well... anywhere, this probably isn't the place for you. But if you aspire to a more sublime experience with fish, make a reservation for the sushi bar and just ask Chef Shoei to feed you. You won't be sad. That man clearly loves what he does and it shows in every bit of his fish selection and preparation.
google avatar

Sofi P.

Yelp
The chef takes amazing pride in his work and his cuts are precise and accurate All fish selection is fresh and selected with care I had the scallop done two ways which was unexpectedly good. I thought I had scallops, but this dish took it to the next level. Taking a bite was such an explosion of flavor that it shook my taste buds Worth coming here !

Yelp
I didn't know what to believe from all the other reviews, but I was coming up from Huntington Beach and meeting friends from far out in the Valley. We wanted a good dinner spot, somewhere we could make a reservation at before our show at the Troubador! This restaurant worked out so well! They were super responsive to the email through Yelp for reservations. I only made them the night before, and even had to push them back once. They were so accommodating. I was surprised that there weren't more patrons at the restaurant! Everything we ordered was perfect- and we've had our share of sushi experiences! The garlic albacore was to die for, all the sushi tasted fresh and at perfect temperature to melt in your mouth. I could not have been happier with the service. Our waitress, the hostess, the sushi chefs....everyone was super friendly and courteous. Thanks for helping our night be perfect Ajisai!!! If we get back to WeHo soon, we know where to go! For real!!
google avatar

Natasha N.

Yelp
Incredible hole in the wall hidden gem. Great food & service and always solid and consistent. Highly recommend the Trump Roll!!!
google avatar

Lauren R.

Yelp
Good quality fish, seems like they specialize in tuna The selection is not the greatest but overall we really enjoyed our food even though we ordered it through postmates, nothing was damaged, everything was packed with care
google avatar

Michaela R.

Yelp
Great big rolls and very fresh fish. The service was friendly and welcoming. Called ahead and held a table for us and had it ready when we got there. Cute and small restaurant with good food I'd recommend to anyone.
google avatar

Brad A.

Yelp
Terrible service, incredibly rude waitress, average food. You'll never see us here again.
google avatar

Belinda V.

Yelp
Came across this tiny sushi spot randomly and for the price it was delicous ! Free appetizer (cold soba) i believe? Had great flavor, coated the cold noodles well. Biscotti- which is spicy tuna on top of crispy rice. The rice was great, super crispy outside yet soft and tender on the inside and the tuna complimented the rice very well, lightly seasoned fresh tuna yum Chu toro- was good for $15 but I definitely had better Salmón & yellowtail- was just okay to me nothing out of the ordinary Uni from Mexico- was delicious ! Fresh and plump with great flavor! Eel- was nice and soft had great flavor. Everything had great rice to fish ratio, definitely a great spot for sushi for a casual night with your spouse or a group of friends. Parking can be a bit hectic around here so keep that in mind, they also have parking meters in front of the restaurant but it's for an hour!
google avatar

Arie R.

Yelp
The main thing is it's expensive but because it's such a small restaurant I think they can't maintain lower prices. Ajasai roll was very good and the trump roll was the best. The fish was melt in your mouth amazing quality. I didn't love the green beans or shashito peppers because there was not enough flavor but my family liked them. Spicy tuna roll was good as well but lots of rice. Staff was so friendly!!
google avatar

Stacy F.

Yelp
I am relatively new to Los Angeles, so I do not as yet have a favorite sushi restaurant, or even my go-to sushi place. I have now been to Ajisai (apparently the Japanese word for the hydrangea flower) twice and I believe that I have found "my" sushi place. The fish is very fresh, the sushi comes out quickly and it is expertly prepared. The Aji is mouth-watering. There are no real negatives, but understand that it is a smallish place and the decor could be described as having "rustic charm". The prices are average for West Hollywood, but the food is superlative for anywhere. If you go there, you will never regret it.
google avatar

Candy E.

Yelp
One of the best sushi restaurants in LA! Great food. Great service. Good prices. Order the Biscotti, you won't regret it.
google avatar

Yelp
Just a wonderful operation for going on 20 years now. Chef Shoei is nicest person you could ever want to meet. Quality of fish and service is very much old school excellent. A neighborhood institution.
google avatar

Yelp
We were a bit worried about ordering sushi for delivery however this place was amazing. The sushi was so fresh and everything we ordered was delicious. The hand roll was great and they were generous with their fish portions. 10/10; would recommend
google avatar

Yasmina M.

Yelp
This place is still my favorite sushi spot after all of these years! They're West Hollywood legends at this point. Pro tip: order the yuzu halibut & garlic albacore sushi for the best time of your life
google avatar

Pauline M.

Yelp
I would stick to the recommendations. The recommended sushi (on the chalkboard they have on the wall) was legit. The chu toro was melt in your mouth good. The spanish mackerel was also fresh. We also ordered nigiri that wasn't on the list, and they were a bit fishy. The amaebi was pretty fishy and not very fresh, though the fried head was good. The tamago was also spongy and had the consistency of a sponge, slightly dry, and not very flavorful. The inside decor is very unique and if you stick to rolls, maybe this is your spot.
