AJWA Sultanahmet

First of all, the AJWA Sultanahmet was just beautiful! The lobby, the rooms, and the spectacular view from the restaurant which looks out over the water and the Blue Mosque. ||In fact, the location was terrific for the same reason - it's walking distance from the Agia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, and Grand Bazaar. ||The service was exceptional, including the front desk and valet staff; the concierges who provided excellent advice and assistance; and all of the personnel at the restaurant.||The room was beautifully decorated with traditional (inc. antiques), and hand-painted tile. It was well appointed with all the extras, and I appreciated the high quality of the bedding. The housekeeping staff were cheerful, helpful, and did a great job with the room.||The food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious too – I had dinner there 3 times, so I sampled many things, and loved every dish. Also really enjoyed the antique china.||Everyone spoke English. I'm so happy I selected this hotel for my first trip to Istanbul, and I highly recommend it.

Great location close to all the top sightseeing spots! Super friendly staff and very clean rooms. |We loved our stay in this hotel and would definitely come back. |The upper floor with sea view are not that necessary since the room design is the highlight and you don’t see that much. |The bathroom design is amazing. Also breakfast on the rooftop was great and good food.

Amazing Holiday/Hotel from start to finish|||I had informed the hotel that we were coming as a celebration for our son's 18th and the finishing of his exams.|On a very smooth airport transfer which was booked through the hotel we arrived safely and were greeted with warmth and smiles from all the staff and a welcome drink to ease us into our stay. |On booking in we had the lovely surprise to be told we had been given a room upgrade which brought a huge grateful smile to all of us but especially the birthday boy as he really didn't want to share with Mum & Dad. The deluxe rooms were adjacent to each other with its own separate entrance which meant we could be right next to each other and have our doors open but still each have some privacy.|WOW when we entered the rooms I was blown away by the beautiful decor and luxury. I don't think I've stayed anywhere like this before and it was gorgeous. |As soon as we arrived into our room a cake was brought in to celebrate the birthday boy. |We all felt very grateful to have this lovely, comfortable and special area to ourselves. |||The Hotel is in a gorgeous part of Istanbul with cobblestones and history just on your doorstep about 5-10 mins walk away to Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque. It is an excellent location for all the attractions to see. |||Every single staff member was polite, friendly and warm and could not do enough to help.|We would like to especially mention Ibrahim from the breakfast team who was quick to get your request sorted every morning.|We also had a fabulous meal in the restaurant where we were made to feel very welcome again and special with the best table overlooking the sea and some fun conversations with the attentive staff especially Erol who again could not do enough to make us comfortable and enjoy our meal.|||I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone as I have only great things to say. Every single staff member was exceptional and the hotel was beautiful with all the amazing authentic touches which makes it stand out as particularly special in Istanbul.|Thank you to you all for making our trip so amazing.

It was my privilege to enjoy one of their two mansions this summer, along with their most hospitable staff. The Türkiye warmth and culture was on full display. I can’t thank them enough. My family Will for sure be back.|As for the mansion, we did get lost a few times due to its size - maybe add maps ? Haha. Joking, but it really was grand. And the in house sauna really saved me from my ear compression from the flight. Their restaurant located up the hill at the actual hotel has excellent views and once again, warm and welcoming staff. Stayed in August 2024. Exceptional hotel. I felt privileged to be staying at the Ajwa. We had two connecting rooms that were perfect in every way. The wood furniture is exquisite; there are handmade rugs in every room; the bathrooms made me feel likely royalty with their rich mosaics; beds were very comfortable; rooms were spacious and beautifully appointed. Service was impeccable. Breakfast at the restaurant and dinner are not be missed. The restaurant has beautiful views and delicious food (the morning buffet is a must) and, in the evening, the fabulous dinner made for a very fond memory of Istanbul.

Ajwa Hotel Sultanahmet is a true gem in the heart of Istanbul. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome – always warm, courteous, and eager to help. The rooms are nothing short of opulent – elegantly designed, impeccably clean, and filled with thoughtful touches that reflect traditional craftsmanship and luxury. We also appreciated the hotel’s no alcohol policy, which created a calm, family-friendly atmosphere. The location is unbeatable – just a short walk to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and other key attractions. A perfect blend of comfort, culture, and hospitality. Highly recommended!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at AJWA Sultanahmet hotel in Instanbul. The room was clean and comfortable, the towels are nicely placed inside pressed cotton bags, the staff was very helpful, breakfasts were delicious and with a view, the spa was nice, and it was a convenient walking distance to many sites. I felt safe staying here as we were visiting from another country - the staff did a great job.

This was our first trip to Istanbul and Turkey. Being unfamiliar with the area, we used an Atlanta based travel agent to assist us with our planning. This hotel was truly 5 Star. The room was great and everyone we worked with at the hotel was excellent. If you have not tied down all your plans before arriving they are there to help you. Oh, my wife recommends the Spa; it was truly great.| |Final thoughts: |First, this hotel is well located to all the major sights. |Second, most of the staff spoke English, making our stay even more enjoyable. |Third, Turkey uses the TRY (Lira). At the time we were there the USD equaled about 40 TRY. |Last, you can buy the TRY at the airport (IST) once you arrive (the bank ATM) was near our Baggage Claim area. There are ATMs near most major tourist attractions so it is easy to purchase more as you go. |Final tip. When we finalized our hotel bill, I reserved enough TRY for our driver to the airport, then applied the balance I had against my hotel bill before paying the balance in Euros.
