AK is a great representative of the Chinese-American comfort food that our area is known for. Many folks are too judgemental, insisting that anything that isn't as good as the International District in Seattle is terrible food. And, of course, those elitist fools are 100% wrong. Far, far more folks enjoy a delicious meal like this---a meal we certainly can't duplicate at home. Everything we had was excellent. Wonderful service, as well, and one of the more affordable options in this category. Lots of extra to bring home to keep the party going, too. Great job, AK...

The egg roll had way too much pepper, the sweet and sour pork was extremely dry, the egg drop soup was flavorless and oddly had vegetables like peas, carrots and Lima beans. When told to the server she directed me to be specific and did not do anything to try and easy the negative experience. I will never come back and honestly the lack of customers inside should have been my first clue.

Ordered takeout. Food was great & plentiful. Great value! Only thing I wished is that the gravy for the almond chicken to go would be on the side, so the chicken wouldn't get soggy. Other than that food was flavorful & good! Beef & broccoli was amazing, with fresh vegetables & perfectly tender velveted beef. Good to find you!

Excellent food. Double excellent, in fact. Great drinks. Awesome staff. Fantastic atmosphere (if you like that kind of atmosphere) in the bar. Lots of character(s). In fact, nevermind. Don't go. I don't want it to get too crowded.

I went to this restaurant for the 1st time; had lunch with a friend. I had a yummy eggroll, honey wine chicken and crunchy chow main. Everything was tasty. Service was great. Prices are good. I will go there again, hopefully soon.

We ate here on 12/06/25. It was listed as one of the best Asian restaurants so we decided to try it. The restaurant was empty when we arrived at 12pm. The waitress was busy trying to get everything ready and set up. My husband ordered a beef noodle dish and I ordered the pick three lunch combo. My husband's beef tasted sour and weird like it was merinated in vinegar. Some of my chicken tasted good, but some of it also tasted sour and off. By Monday our stomachs didn't feel good and by Tuesday I was extremely sick and throwing up. I ate more of my meal than my husband ate of his. I am definitely sure that the meat was bad and we were given food poisoning. I don't think this restaurant has enough business to turn the food over. I won't be eating here again after getting so sick.

This was our first time at AK Asian Restaurant. The exterior looks a bit rough, but we decided to give it a try. We had two different servers—Coco took our order. The food was decent overall. My sister and I went because we were both craving almond chicken. The almond chicken was good, but the gravy was a bit too thick for our liking. We also got white rice, fried rice, and sesame chicken, which was on the saucier side. The special chow mein was excellent. Unfortunately, while eating, I found a hair in the fried rice. It took a while to flag down a the second server, and when we finally did, she seemed skeptical, even saying, “I can’t see it with my glasses.” After taking the bowl to the kitchen, she came back a few minutes later, apologized, and brought a new bowl of fried rice—or at least, we hoped it was actually a new one and not just the same bowl with the hair removed. Despite the issue, we still tipped, though no special accommodation was offered.

We ate there for the first time today. My husband and I ordered Broccoli Beef (with a little extra heat) to share. We each also had a cup of Egg Flower soup to go with it. The food was very flavorful. The beef was tender and everything just had an overall great taste. We were also impressed with their Egg Flower soup. I have not been a fan of Egg Flower soup (never heard of it until I moved to Spokane - we always got Egg Drop soup everywhere else I have lived but here it is Egg Flower). The food came out fresh and hot. The serving size was large - we were both very full by the time we got done with lunch. The service was excellent. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Everything I want in an Asian lunch! We were here years ago, and since then we've always never thought of it, after eating at home or some where else. We were shopping, and the timing was right for the meal of the day. Look at what we got! This was a three adult family meal off their menu, and everything was great! It's very much americanized style, but that's what my daughter and I demanded lol. A very nice young lady took care of us, and it was great to chat with the owner, who made sure we had everything we needed for a big Sat meal.

Yelp
AWEFUL AND HORRIBLE FOOD...Not traditional Chinese food...Don't let all the Asian decor fool you....RUN, or pass on by! FOOD tasted straight out of a can.... Their almond chicken was cooked with a thick brown turkey gravy sauce with no almonds and no where to be found....for dipping sauces they had KETCHUP AND MUSTARD they told us was for the egg rolls and the fried prawns! Trailer trash food for 2 people $40.00 *Disclaimer - If you don't see Asian people in the restaurant or in the kitchen cooking the food walk out the door, fast!

Yelp
We just moved to Spokane from an area with a really great selection of authentic Asian cuisine. I have been trying local places desperate for something that tastes even a little bit like food from back home and sadly this one has been one of my least favorites. I ordered their Pho through a food delivery app and it does not taste like the Pho we are used to - almost nothing like there real thing unfortunately. I want to give the benefit of the doubt because I did order from a restaurant that serves multiple different Asian cuisines and maybe Vietnamese isn't their strong suit - additionally I know sourcing ingredients here is not as easy or affordable. But all of that said, I won't order here again based off this experience. The texture and flavor were so off I couldn't even finish eating my bowl. I normally want to give a place a few tries but this was not a pleasant experience unfortunately.

Yelp
Great food and service. Good egg flower soup great almond chicken. Nice place will be back

Yelp
The fried rice tasted old and buttery. Sweet-and-sour chicken was mostly just the sweet-and-sour sauce. The breading on the chicken as well as the shrimp was so thick that it was still wet dough on the inside. The shrimp was also not cleaned. The special chow mein also tasted old and reheated. The soy sauce that was sitting on the table had things floating in it. I did not finish the meal. And I will not return.

Yelp
Love the food. We stop here and grab food to go after shopping at Costco. They are quick and everything taste amazing.

Merle C.

Yelp
We used to eat here frequently, 10 years ago. Legitimately on of the top 100 Asian restaurants in the country. One of the owners got injured in a grease fire and they had to sell. The new owners survived on past success for a while. But really bad food and service will bring you down. New owners, menu, or whatever, they are earning my business once again.

Denise K.

Yelp
Have gone here for many years and tonight our food came out with a bunch of hot water soaking the food on one of the meals. We sent that plate back and the owner came out and accused us of pouring water on the food! Thankfully the waitress had our back! Needless to say we will never go back! Could not believe it!

Yelp
Last nite 11 July there was a guy playing guitar and singing, he was playing so loud and it was so distorted that you couldn't have a conversation at the rable. We moved outside to get away from his one man rock concert.

Richy B.

Yelp
I'm surprised Anna Friday night when it's dead how long have to wait for a pick up order or even anyone to say hey have you been helped. Maybe if you hired someone under 45 that wasn't fat you could move women buisness

Yelp
Amazing food, affordable prices, excellent service, very friendly staff, and very clean!

Yelp
Average Spokane Chinese restaurant... except that the menus, drink/app table-top menu, and all the condiments were *clean*. And the table was freshly wiped down. (I'll mention the one thing that wasn't clean at the end of the review.) We were greeted and seated right away. They weren't busy, maybe 5 tables. We ordered combination meals, #2 and #4. All meals come with egg flower soup - no other choice. It was nice and hot and the broth was delicious. I ordered the #2 combo that consisted of sweet & sour spareribs, celery and chow Mein with hard noodles, BBQ pork, and "fried" rice. (Yesterday's white rice with soy sauce, I think.) The sweet & sour spareribs were fall off the bone tender and the chow Mein was super fresh with just the right crunch. My husband ordered combo #4 which came with sweet & sour chicken, celery chow Mein, 2 shrimp and the same rice. I was surprised that the shrimp was nice size and that the breading didn't fall off when you took a bite. Here's what wasn't clean: the RED ENTRANCE DOOR. Black greasy smudges by the handle. Ugh... I hope they clean it right away.

Yelp
Yummm ordering it with extra sauce is key!! It's soo delicious and perfectly flavorful.

Yelp
I dont know why this place only has 3 stars ,we go here a couple times a month for theyre lunch specials , prices are reasonable ,service is always good and the food is flavorable and is always served hot......I usually get the brocclli beef comes with an eggroll and not one of those skinny over cook things this is full of fresh veg and pork,.and a 3rd option if u choose the lunch special and hot egg flower soup.....there is a full bar .....

Amelia K.

Yelp
The food is alright but the portions are so small for what they're charging!! it's absolutely rediculous.

Debbie R.

Yelp
Sadly I witness discrimination at its highest tonight. There was only one server for the restaurant side. granted she was working at a disadvantage, but got our order wrong. I'm not sure it was corrected since we didn't see what the portion was supposed to be for two people or three which I did pay for three coming to $101. The order was put in for two people, not three, yet it came out five minutes later...was the adjustment made? We got there at 6:20 and a couple of boys, African-American, came in about 10 minutes after us. Numerous orders from GrubHub were ordered, so she said, but numerous people came in and sat and filled the whole opposite room after the boys arrived. They didn't get their food until everybody else had except for one table that came in about 15 minutes before we left, which was after 7:30. The boys politely questioned where their food was and was told it was coming, and it wasn't until I started complaining that their food was way overdue and should be refunded that their food finally showed up. The boys waited over 45 minutes for their food And had to cancel their plans they had for the evening. The excuse when I asked the server, why was that the cook had broken his hand yet everybody else got served before they got served. All the GrubHub orders were filled. Our order was but those boys sat there the whole time we ate our meal waiting for their food again, discrimination at its highest. The food was good, but I'll never go there again. If I could give them zero stars I would simply on their customer service alone.

Yelp
A shiny new gringo, all-things-Pan Pacific (Chinese/Viet/Thai/Japanese/etc.), diner that has replaced a tired old gringo Chinese diner. That's pretty much all I've gotta say on the fare. For folks who may be traveling through our friendly metro, places like this are way too prevalent. I'm no elitist, but until we break the chain of Asian food mediocrity, we will continue to enjoy valid disparaging Yelp reviews for lack of quality. Yes, my family enjoyed this place. And they darned well know that I did not. The lady that served us was nice...
google avatar

Yelp
So far acceptable. Food tasted pretty good. Takeout. We've list our 2 go to Asian dinners and we have tried this a few times with my son's recommendation.

Yelp
Wow....you just don't look at this place and expect to get the fresh and tasty Chinese food they offer. The restaurant is older, but super clean. Great service! We each had a combo dinner and everything we had tasted fresh and not "gloppy" as we sometimes feel American Chinese food can taste. We did not check out the lounge...but we will definitely go back for dinner. It seems like they get a lot of local/return business and takeout.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem on Sprague. Older, but very clean restaurant. Delicious American style Chinese food. House made wontons, sauces and bbq pork. I could taste the Chinese. 5 spice and see the char on the bbq pork. I got the special both times. Great value and best Moscow mule in town.

Jake M.

Yelp
Worst food ever. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. Bbq pork looked like it had been rotting for a month. One bite of that egg roll made me want to vomit. Only thing I could eat was the shrimp which I imagine is the only thing they made fresh. And the rice. I would have tossed it all but I was starving. Just...gross.
google avatar

Mike Y.

Yelp
Deep fried heaven. They fried the everything even the teriyaki chick n who does that.
google avatar

Vincent J.

Yelp
Be prepared for overpriced food for the quality and portion size. I had the pho special... decent broth flavor, but the protein were not good up to par in contrast to what you get from other pho places around town. I also had one Vietnamese egg roll, it was good but not worth the price.
google avatar

Paul K.

Yelp
The food was excellent. Very good flavors. The service was very friendly. The Ambiance is very nice. The Sushi was great, we had the Red Dragon. The Kung Pao chicken was good. Crab Wontons good. Pot stickers were excellent. Other dishes looked and seemed very good.

Yelp
I had never been here before and met up with some friends. I hadn't been down this area of sprague for awhile either & was surprised to see a shiny big new car wash in the area, so it does seem to be changing. Don't expect this restaurant to be new and shiny though. There is a literal pay phone near the bathrooms. The food was really good, I enjoyed the egg flower soup that came before the meal. The teriyaki chicken was so good! I loved the fried rice as well, no vegetables! Lol well except for green onion! All of the employees were super cool and laid back. I'd definitely eat here again.
google avatar

Darth S.

Yelp
I got the Golden Dragon Roll today and oh my... this is one of the best sushi rolls I've ever had. 10/10 would recommend.
google avatar

Jesse B.

Yelp
Stood in the lobby for 10 minutes and waited to be seated. Nobody bothered to even come out to the front and seat me. What a joke.
google avatar

Darik N.

Yelp
I've eaten here twice. The service is really slow but the food is good. I will definitely be back.

Joanna R.

Yelp
These two rolls were by far my favorite in Spokane so far. Spicy salmon roll and the golden dragon roll.

Yelp
Great food amazing place to try on my trip with friendly staff making my experience wonderful

Yelp
Our experience was the worst!! The waitress dropped a prawn from the 5 piece and told us she would bring another which didn't happen. My meal was cold and I couldn't even eat much of it. The waitress ran my card at the table and told me it wasn't working due to internet. She walked away with it then came back saying she got it to work. Next day I noticed they charged me twice. Have called several times but the lady answers. No English when I explain what happened she hangs up. I will never go back or recommend them!!
google avatar

David F.

Yelp
Ordered sweet and sour chicken. Horrible. It tasted like dog food smells. I grew it out. Absolutely inedible.

Laura S.

Yelp
Food was okay. It has been better in the past. Most notable were the filthy bathrooms and lack of staff. When we arrived for dinner, there was one waitress and numerous tables that needed busing. Overall, the restaurant appears to be drinking.
google avatar

Peter S.

Yelp
Wow! one of the best Asian restaurants in Spokane. Great food! Great fried rice and so many more! And the waiters are so patient and kind. Definitely coming back here soon.
google avatar

Joey B.

Yelp
Are you looking for that 1960's generic "insert here" Asian decor restaurant mixed with a heaping dose of methamphetamine and paroles? Search no further! As an added bonus you can watch the kitchen staff get into arguments over who gets to eat the leftovers! You will be ignored by your waiter/waitress of choice for as long as you stand waiting for a table. This place must be a front for something, some type of bodega, I just haven't figured out for what, but my God do yourself a favor and run screaming.
google avatar

Jordan B.

Yelp
The food was really good! Loved the Malaysian noodles. And the General's was really good too. Owner's are very nice. Great local business to support!

Charlie H.

Yelp
Do you want huge portions of Chinese American food? Do you want something more adventurous? Then try this place. I am not very adventurous but my buddy enjoyed his Myanmar Yellow Curry. I had Teriyaki Tofu and Veggies. It was delicious! Clean with friendly service. It's Spokane, it's Sprague if you are looking for a Michelin 3 star restaurant you need to check yourself. We've been here before to play pool and have a few drinks. They have a full bar or the ubiquitous 16 oz. cans of PBR for only $2.75. I dig the Touch Tunes app controlled jukebox.

Dawn R.

Yelp
$4.25 for 6 ounces of egg flower soup is ridiculous and borderline robbery. My son ordered a combo meal and asked if I would like anything. I thought a little soup would be nice. Little, not 3 Costco samples miniscule.

Marta S.

Yelp
When I return I will update with a picture, which is always more helpful. I am a bit of a food snob coming from the Bay Area and I found my place here! I got the Walnut Prawns and everything was very good. A very nice server too.

Megan P.

Yelp
We ate and drank there this weekend. We all three had our drinks in common, all three of us got food poisoning and I ended up in the hospital. Our server had really long nails and kept scratching her face and hair, wouldn't wash her hands after smoking and would tamp the ice down with her palm after filling the glass. we won't be back, please be careful.

Julie G.

Yelp
My order came early the food was really good but they forgot my honey wine chickenWhich was very disappointing
