The Best Things Eater Seattle’s Editor Ate in November | Eater Seattle

"Everyone is talking about this cheese pizza, which is actually almost impossible to get (they literally can’t make enough to keep up with demand). Out of professional obligation, I navigated a cutthroat pre-order system to secure a cheese pie, and… it’s good! The crust is more charred than chewy, but the really special thing is the sauce, which is herb-forward, savory rather than sweet, and finely textured (it uses “milled tomatoes,” according to the menu). Hopefully A.K. will be able to scale up its production soon so more people can check this out." - Harry Cheadle

The Most Anticipated Seattle Restaurant Openings for Fall 2025 | Eater Seattle

"Alex Kim, formerly of Sea Wolf and Oxbow, has turned his pop-up into a full restaurant near the Othello light rail station; it’s in soft-open mode doing online takeout preorders only, and the Infatuation has already declared its New York–style pies the best pizza in Seattle. A pizza here is about as hard to get as Mariners playoff tickets — we tried to order one and were told it would be ready on October 11, more than two weeks from now." - Harry Cheadle

Google
Landed in Seattle from Canada & immediately had to come check out this spot that’s been on my must try list!! Omg. It did NOT dissappoint. The craftsmanship they put into their pizza is meticulous. The slices are huge and toppings are so generously & evenly distributed that EVERY bite was immaculate. The ingredients are so fresh and they told us about how they source it all the way from Italy. Amazing. I would pay $60 for this easily and it was only $38 for the special. Can’t wait to go back!!

Google
Amazing pizza! Classic style, fresh taste and generous portions! The pizza was large and fantastic! Crisp crust held up great, the sauce tastes of fresh tomatoes and every thing has the flavor of high quality ingredients! Also, treated myself to one of the cookies which was delectable with large chocolate chunks, the salt sprinkle gives it a wonderful balance. Service was fast and friendly! Parking can be tough but the close by shopping center on the corner was a good spot. I will come back here for sure! Highly recommend.

Google
Getting a pizza like I would get concert tickets or a special beer release is not fun. But it was absolutely worth the stress. I was reluctant to believe the hype because the majority of Seattle food influencers on IG have baby palates, but AK deserves the accolades. Crisp and crunchy crust, no wet middle. "The Special" toppings were well sourced and prepped, coming together harmoniously. Cookie with flaky Maldon was excellent, too. Keep slapping F5 and get yours.

Google
The parking situation can be less than ideal (unless you live in the building 😄). Trying to nab one of the pizzas is a challenge. Its probably easier to get a limited edition labubu. The pizza is fantastic. I normally like a good NY style so I'm biased. But its thin, crispy, and flavor is fantastic. I know I know, its just pizza. But, its definitely S-tier pizza, and in the South Seattle area! That is pretty cool. My friends and I want to do a blind pizza taste test and see if its our #1. But its so hard to get one of them!! 😂

Google
To the Vodka sauce Pizza, we added pepperoni and sausage. The crust was thin, crispy, New York style, with just the right amount of Char. It's takeout only and it's best to order online, because they are super busy. It's possibly the best pizza i've ever had.

Google
Mainly a take out pizza place but hands down the best pizza in Washington state. My sister said she thinks it’s better than pizzeria Bianco’s pizza. I can honestly say this is one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. If Seattle Times does another pizza tournament, just crown AK Pizza the winners.

Google
We have been trying to get preorders for days, and it was 100% worth it. The pizza was fresh, crispy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. This is probably the best pizza we’ve had so far in the Seattle area and well worth the wait. We do wish it was readily available, as we don’t always have time to place preorders or compete with all the other customers.

Google
Probably best pizza in Seattle. Well balanced ingredients and seasons. Pizza is not as accessible : 1. You have to fight and reserve the pizza one day ahead. The reservation starts at 12pm and Pizza only available after 4pm. 2. Parking is not easy for pick up. 3. Pizza may get delays for 20+ mins based on scheduled date/time.

Yelp
Another example of "good things come to those who wait." In this case, after a few weeks of attempts in their ordering system, it was amazing pizza and decadent chocolate chunk cookies. The pizza had a thin, crackery crisp undercarriage with a delicate and nicely chewy crust. It's the kind of pizza, especially when eaten fresh, you can take a perfect bite out of where all of your teeth leave an impression (a la Wile E. Coyote leaving a perfect body cutout as he's being blown through a wall). The tomato-to-cheese ratio is perfect and the pep is the small, nice cuppy kind. To top it all off, the staff/owners all seem like wonderful people, and it's hard not to feel happy for their success. I hope they continue to grow over the years, and there'll be an outpost in walking distance to my house soon :) To optimize the experience, I'd recommend you start eating in the shop or your parked car. Hit the pizza with a really hot oven for a minute or 2 if you have to drive home 30+ mins before you can take a bite. 10 seconds in the microwave could be a great way to warm up that awesome cookie too.

Yelp
AK Pizza recently overtook Steve's famous as the "best pizza in Seattle" award and as a non influencer, I will say that is not the case at all. This place has been overhyped to the max by the foodie influencer group benefiting from the free pizza they get. But as a regular person, I do not share the same sentiments. Wait until hype dies down and try it, otherwise, not worth it. Don't get me wrong, it's a good pizza, but is it the BEST? Hell no, not even close. Not to mention all the hoops you have to go through to just order the damn pizza makes it one of the least "worth it" pizza around. For starters, you have to ensure you are available right before noon the day before to jump into the queue for pizza. I tried everyday for two weeks until I figured out a way ensure I was the first few. That alone makes this pizza a nonstarter for me, but hey, I was determined to try the best damn pizza in Seattle. Within those two weeks, I watched the queue jumped from around 100 to 250 coinciding with all the new raving posts from influencers including some guy name Nick, who I'm fairly sure are friends with the owners given his other posts. I was able to get the pepperoni pizza, but I also wanted to try the vodka pizza but the process and massive amount of people does not allow a person to successfully get two pizzas at once. Again, pepperoni was good, but it's no difference than a place like Dantini's pizza who's more conveniently located and I don't have to fight online to get it. When we picked it up, we also got the chocolate chip cookie, which was better than the pizza, but it was also $7 bucks and not as good as the Met. Overall, 4 stars for pizza. Minus 1 star for creating artificial hype.

Yelp
As someone who's had every major pizza shop in Seattle and ate the best 'za up and down the West Coast and through all of NYC, I truly don't understand the love for this pie. Love for the owner? Understandable. Absolute pizza nerd badass sweetheart for sure. But the pizza? I don't understand. I don't like any component of this pie, from the dough to the sauce to the cheese. I've had the pies here twice now, both when it was an elusive pop-up and now as an elusive brick-and-mortar. Dough has good moisture but is neither a crackery crust or as I prefer, delicately crispy exterior and fluffy moist interior. Dough tastes a bit undersalted and like it could use a drizzle of EVOO or something. The sauce tastes cooked which is a tragedy on pizza that should have only super refreshing uncooked spiced tomato flavor. The cheese tastes a little fancied up (a little more sharpness, funk, sour) and missing the super creamy and refreshing quality of that Jersey-quality full fat low moisture mozz I want on my NY-styles. I feel a bit crazy hating this pizza but hey, taste is subjective and maybe I just need to chalk this one up to preference at the end of the day. I'm glad this great guy is doing well and getting love, even if it's not from me. But will cross my fingers that one day a NY-style pie that floats my boat sails down to Seattle one day. Until then I'll enjoy my Detroit at My Friend Derek's and MOTO, my neapolitan at Bar Del Corsco, and my NY-style in New York.

Yelp
The crisp of the crust i finally got the vodka pizza after weeks of trying to get one and it was worth it! The location is a little bit inconvenient as there's no parking nearby but the pizza was hot and ready when we got there at pick up time. I recommend eating in the car while it's still hot and fresh. I also got the cookie and I think it would have been a really good cookie but it was a little burnt on the top.

Yelp
This is a new spot that sells 18'' NY style pizzas. Due to the popularity, it's required to pre-order 1 day in advance starting at 12pm. I got to their website exactly at 12pm and was able to place my order before they sold out. Parking wasn't too difficult to find if you drive up S Willow St - there were especially lots of spots as I got closer to 37 Ave S. When I walked in, I was greeted immediately, and everyone was so friendly. My order was ready right on time. I had ordered a plain pizza (milled tomatoes, aged mozz, buffalo mozz, wild oregano, freshly grated parmigiano-reggiano, and Sicilian olive oil). It was absolutely phenomenal. The sauce was so tasty and fresh. The different cheeses added so much flavor. Each slice was sturdy and didn't fall apart when holding it. Crust was okay, but a little too charred for my preference. I also purchased a cookie when I arrived to pick up my pizza. The cookie was wonderful as well. I made the mistake of trying to eat a bite immediately, and it just was a bit too gooey and messy. But after waiting for it to cool down, it was an excellent treat. Lots of chocolate and very sweet. FYI - the cookies cannot be preordered and they have a limited number, so I suggest choosing an early pickup time if you also want to buy a cookie. Also, this spot is primarily meant for pickup, but there is one small table if you want to eat it there. Overall, I highly recommend checking out their pizzas!

Yelp
New pizza spot in Othello from a former Seawolf baker. Currently they are taking pre orders online. My friend pre ordered the pizza on the last day of ordering at midnight I believe it's at noon now. We got the corn pizza and the vodka pizza. The crusts for both pizzas were really good and the slices had a nice flop. The corn pizza had more of a Mexican taste and was unique. The vodka pizza was all of our favorites and would definitely order again! They also ordered cookies which were nice with the maldon salt and very soft. I would definitely order again and recommend!

Yelp
The best pizza. Perfect dough/crust, great toppings. I'm from New Haven so I know great pizza. Worth the wait.

Yelp
Finally was able to get a preorder! The effort was worth it because the pizzas are huge and delicious! It is the thinnest pizza I've had in WA so far. We tried the vodka pizza. The cheese-sauce-dough ratios are perfect. Definitely try it as soon as it comes out of the oven for optimal freshness. I wish I was able to try the cookies but they sold out just before I arrived to pick up my order. The team was very nice and friendly when I arrived a bit earlier than my pickup time. The shop inside is pretty small, only one small table available if you want to eat there, since this is more of a takeout spot. Parking on the side streets of MLK was pretty full and chaotic.

Yelp
Was lucky enough to snag a spot during their soft opening and try out this legendary looking pizza that we'd seen for months in the works on IG. A bustling little operation, our pizza came out hot and fresh within a few minutes of our pick up time. The crust was perfectly crisp on the bottom holding up the tasty toppings, we opted for pepperoni. We were even lucky enough to snag a fresh cookie that was very chocolate dense and had a nice salty taste. Cheers on the opening, we're excited to come back!

Yelp
I have been on the website with my partner trying to order through the app for 8 weeks. We are timing the request correctly, to the SECOND, and we have NEVER been able to get a pizza. They need to manage their website traffic better if they can't accommodate the demand. Something is messed up with the ordering system. Seems like the only people who get an order are influencers. This seems like commonality in Seattle's food scene that breeds elitism and ghost kitchens.

Yelp
I found out about this place on social media and I had to try it. Spending half my life in the New York area, I really miss New York City style pizza. Now that I've moved to Seattle. This place is on point with probably the best New York City style pizza with amazing pizza dough.
google avatar

Amanda R.

Yelp
I finally was able to get some of their amazing pizza. We got a pepperoni pizza. It was large, lots of pepperoni, and the right amount of cheese and sauce. The pickup was easy, the staff were very friendly. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is the fact that it's so hard to get my hands on the deliciousness that is the A.K. pizza.
google avatar

Yelp
Wow!! hands down the best pizza I've had in Seattle! I was hooked from the very first bite. Every piece left me wanting more. The crust is perfectly crunchy with a great firm texture, and the flavor is incredible. Honestly, I could've eaten the whole thing myself. Pre orders do sell out quickly, but if you're lucky enough to snag one, it's absolutely worth it!

Yelp
Worth the wait. Want to see what American entrepreneurial determination looks like? Check out the extremely hard working, professional, courteous staff dedicated to their craft at this startup. New York style 18" (yes, 18") pizzas done right. Great toasted, sturdy crust holds up. Toppings and sauce on target. Will travel again. Chocolatey cookies good too.

Yelp
Put in an order for three pizzas for a friends baby event. Ordered one cheese one pep and one vodka pizza. Also had a couple of the cookies to try. I'm not a big pizza person if I'm being honest. All my friends would confirm that I am very picky about pizza and actually think most pizzas are all pretty crappy. That said, AK pizzas are fucking amazing! For how big they are, it's not a floppy mess of a slice. The dough is crispy and has a great chew and crisp texture. The sauce is flavorful and has a great balance to it! Idk how to describe it but when I eat this pizza I don't feel like it's filled with artificial preservatives and nasty stuff like I feel with alot of other pizzas. You can tell there is great thoughtfulness and care put into the ingredients and final product. My fav was the pepperoni and then the vodka next. The cheese was also amazing. Can't wait to go back

Yelp
Man oh man, this is the best pizza I've had in Seattle. Reminds me of the best pizza of my early years in CT, NY, and MA. Tender, chewy, crunchy, with amazing charred bits. Well balanced toppings. Everything perfectly in proportion. Ordered Cheese and Pepperoni. Would happily make this my go to pizza joint if I could. Ordered online 2 days in advance and the pizzas were ready at the scheduled time (sadly I was late due to traffic). It's a bare bones take away set up. Couple chairs for people to wait for orders, but you are taking this food to go. No place to eat at AK and as far as I know, no place nearby to take it to. The space is clean and efficient. Orders will require planning. Unless you are a 5 - 20 min drive, then this place is a once every so often treat. For Eastside residents, AK Pizza is a journey. It took me over an hour in rush hour traffic to get there from the office. I left early and was still late. Another 35-40 min home. For anyone going here for the first time, if you are unfamiliar with the neighborhood, be aware that there is street parking on side streets only. Lots of parking that looks usable is actually associated with various apartment buildings nearby. I could not find a legal spot nearby and had to quickly park in a private lot and risk ticketing or towing. I might suggest picking up with a friend so one person can run in and the other can circle for pick-up just in case parking is not available. Quite a journey for pizza. I'm happy I got to try their food and don't regret it, but I'll have to plan for off hour pick-ups to minimize travel time, improve chance of parking, or make the journey with a partner in pizza. Congrats to AK Pizza on your first day of officially being open!

Diana C.

Yelp
Such great quality and amazing flavor, all components make the perfect pizza! It reminds me of the old Rudy's in Pioneer Square. AK is definitely worth the wait to order on line and planning. Also, easy to pick up and friendly people. We will be back. Classic pepperoni

Shohei

Yelp
I'm not sure what everyone one else is tasting. I tasted plain burnt pizza. Not like it was inedible just wondering why anyone would have to preorder a day in advance.

Stan T.

Yelp
Let me be clear: this rating only reflects the experience of trying to order a pie from this place. I have yet to try it but I really want to. So much that Ive waited online 5 times now prior to the order queue opening up and every time I see the add to cart button light up and me clicking on it only for it to tell me that I was too late and that someone else was able to get the pie. This proceeds to happen for about 10 minutes only to ultimately tell me that the pizzas are sold out for the day. Honestly, Im not sure if Ill like it for the amount of effort Im putting in but theres something about being denied something only to want it even more. I cant believe how sought after this pizza is to generate such a demand. Dont know how long I can keep this up but will report back if Im ever lucky enough to even order this mythical pie....
