"Aka’s vast menu of affordable sushi, sashimi, and soju cocktails is reason enough to pay a visit, but dine on the weekend during the all-day happy hour and score a number of items like the tuna, salmon, and the yellowtail-packed Houston roll at a discount. The simple, clean space offers seating at the sushi counter and bar, in addition to its tables for bigger groups." - Brittany Britto Garley

If you're a sushi lover in Houston, Aka Sushi is a spot you need to check out! As a foodie always on the hunt for great eats, I found this place to be a real gem 🌟. Aka Sushi strikes a perfect balance between quality and price. The food is top-notch, and the prices are very fair, making it an ideal spot for anyone wanting to enjoy high-quality sushi without breaking the bank 💸. During our visit, we tried the happy hour menu, and it was fantastic. We started with edamames, which were perfectly cooked and lightly salted—a great way to kick off the meal. The shrimp avocado roll was next, offering a creamy, fresh flavor that was absolutely delightful 😋. The tuna sampler was incredibly fresh and flavorful, melting in your mouth with each bite. While the vegetable tempura was a tad oily, it was still tasty. The shrimp tempura, however, was spot on—crispy and cooked to perfection 🍤. The real standout of the evening was the firecracker shrimp. This dish is a must-try! The combination of spice, crunch, and flavor made it unforgettable 🔥. For the kids, we ordered rice, which was simple yet well-prepared and perfect for their tastes. One dish that missed the mark was the tempura banana. It was overly fried and didn't quite hit the sweet spot for us 🍌. The only downside was the service, which was a bit slow 🕰️. However, given the fair pricing and the excellent quality of the food, this is a minor inconvenience. Overall, Aka Sushi is a fantastic spot in Houston for sushi lovers. The excellent food quality and reasonable prices make it a place worth visiting. Just bring a bit of patience for the service, and you'll have a great dining experience 🍣😊.

Host is very personable. She even came ba k to see how i liked everything. The waiter was very good. Told him I liked really spicey, so he had them add thia chilies in the Sexy Roll. They def met my spice level! I also had them add crab to the house salad and found their ginger dressing delicious! It is chunky, but don't let that scare you. It's very good. High-end sushi place. A little pricey, but they do have happy hours. I added photos of the menu, so I'll come back again to check out HH options. I have to mark this as a top sushi place to visit! Yummy!!

Google
First timer. Went during happy hour. Food was fair-to-good. Calamari tempura was the most disappointing, tasted 90% tempura flakes and less calamari. Service was excellent. Rolls came out surprisingly quick, made me think they were pre-made, which is fine. Ordered Houston, Yellowtail spicy and Spider-rolls. Ramen and yakatori beef was good. Overall, I think there are better "happy hour" options around town.

Rose Zhang

Google
Lovely service. It can get pretty loud in the restaurant. They have good happy hour prices, but the quality of the sushi and dishes are mediocre and lacking. Takoyaki was great. Chicken yakitori lacked flavor and felt dry. Red snapper nigiri was good and fresh.

Google
Aka Sushi House is definitely a spot I'll be returning to! The food quality is top, with everything tasting fresh and delicious. Great prices, service, and atmosphere make for an all-around awesome dining experience!

Google
Food was delicioussssss, they got my food out so quickly. Customer service was amazing and my glass was never empty. Def recommend the sexy roll, Takoyaki, and the grilled squid 🦑

Google
Great sushi for fair price! Recommend to go during happy hour: 3-7pm, 9-close and all day on Saturday and Sunday! Sushi rolls taste great. Service is fast. Place is not overcrowded during the week. Highly recommend! Try the Houston roll from the happy hour menu.

Google
Aka is hands down my favorite sushi spot. They have happy hour pricing all day Saturday and Sunday and their items have been consistent for the past 15 years I’ve been dining here. It is great for a group of 4 who like to share apps and rolls. They also have great hot saki, friendly staff, and quick service. I have never been disappointed. Dinner around 7-9 can get crowded with a short wait but when we arrive by 630 we have no issues being sat rather fast. I love this place!

Yelp
This is our favorite casual sushi restaurant, and for good reason. The rolls are consistently well-prepared, with just the right balance of ingredients and minimal rice--a perfect choice for those mindful of their carb intake. Their Maki rolls stand out for their freshness and thoughtful preparation. We also tried the udon, agadashi tofu which were flavorful and well prepared adding another highlight to an already impressive menu. If you're looking for a laid-back spot that delivers quality sushi and comforting Japanese dishes, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Christina W.

Yelp
This place has happy hour most of the time which how I'm rating this review, so it's a fun spot to grab a few small bites. I did get some sushi but I liked the apps better. The service is super quick however I was there to chill at the sushi bar and journal. Both the sunomono and the squid salad were fresh and pretty to look at!

Ed G.

Yelp
Amazing happy hour, reverse happy hour and service. Order it all, it's delicious. Order it piece by piece or the whole roll! Yum

Alexandra K.

Yelp
Overall had a bad time!! Service was good but the food was bad and there was a bad restroom smell in the entire restaurant. Used to be a great place so this was a huge bummer. I went in on Sunday at 12 to catch their happy hour and was surprised to find the place nearly empty - it used to be so crowded on happy hour days!! The nigiri and sashimi quality was atrocious and the salmon had a very fishy flavor. Could not eat. Spicy salmon roll was insanely fishy. Could not eat. Pork belly skewers were completely flavorless. Eel roll was good but that's simply because the avocado was perfectly ripe. Spicy basil wings were fine...I prefer wings too to these. The tempura was good! But that's the only good park. Overall - never going back!

Roma B.

Yelp
New favorite HH spot for sushi! They have HH all day Saturday and Sunday! Their menu is huge too. For a party of 4, we got the edamame, dumplings, couple beers, sake box, crab rangoon, spicy tuna, tiger eye, and kamikaze rolls. Loved all the items, our favorites were the crab rangoon and spicy tuna rolls. Pro tip, keep the dumpling soy sauce to dip the sushi in! I came back the following week for their reverse HH, which starts weekdays at 9pm!

Sophie M.

Yelp
One of my comfort places to go in the town, Aka sushi house not only provides great food but also a very casual relaxing feel. Nice service.

Danni Y.

Yelp
Came for their happy hour which had good small bites but didn't feel like the sushi rolls were anything special Stuffed mushrooms -5/5 would definitely get this again, creamy with bits of tempura on top Calamari - 3/5, no real flavor, the tempura was falling off the calamari Salmon roll: 4/5 good quality of salmon Spicy tuna: 3.5/5 California roll: 3.5/5 Overall nothing really stood out to me and their happy hour deal doesn't include the sushi rolls. I felt that service was a little pushy, asking repeatedly to take our plates and it took a while before anything came out. The inside was decently decorated.

Amy W.

Yelp
Aka is one of the few restaurants with a weekend happy hour which is what drew me to dine here. No wait to be seated either. The quality of the fish was decent, and we left satisfied. The servings are on the smaller side for the value. however. It was not too expensive for a weekend dinner, but there are high end sushi restaurants with better portions and pricing during regular weekday happy hours.

Gouchlien T.

Yelp
The food was delicious! There is a good variety of dishes, even on the happy hour menu. My waitress was very attentive in her service. The ambiance is nice and casual. I will come here again!

Ann G.

Yelp
Ever since we discovered their happy hour (3-7pm) and reverse happy hour (after 9pm I believe) sushi, this place became our go to place for happy hour sushi. Their sushi is not the best but it's good. For $9.50, my favorite is the shrimp crunch roll. We also ordered the hamachi sampler which I thought was okay. The cajun and dynamite roll and the agadashi tofu were good also. The total for 3 sushi rolls, 1 hamachi sampler, and an agadashi tofu was $6. My husband and I came here on a Wednesday night after 9pm and there were still a good amount of people but we were seated right away and we didn't have to wait. They have a small parking lot but I can see parking may be challenging if they are busy. The service was fast which was great. Overall, I recommend this place especially for happy hour sushi.

Megan B.

Yelp
Aka has a great reverse happy hour. Service is always great! The sushi rolls and appetizers on the happy hour list are all soo good. We always like to try a few new things and it's a great way to.

Tori G.

Yelp
10 out of mf 10 !!!! Service? Great. Environment? Great. Food?! GREAT!! Definitely recommend and will be coming again. Tried the Spicy Salmon, Rock & Roll, Shaggy Dog, and for dessert Tempura Cheesecake yum!

Juncel A.

Yelp
Aka is by far the undisputed reverse happy hour sushi in town. Let me explain. Aka has been here forever. Way before the hand roll, high end omakase and fancy sushi places popped up all over Houston. Their sushi is good to enjoy regular price, but I enjoy coming here the most for HH or reverse HH for cheap good sushi. Can't go wrong with any of the rolls they offer. I like the smoked hamachi, crunchy shrimp roll and of spicy tuna roll. They also have deals on yakitori and appetizers - can't go wrong with the agedashi tofu. They also have decent HH drink prices. Service is always great, and the restaurant has decent decor and relaxing lighting. Aka is really the first place that comes to my mind when talking good and cheap HH and reverse HH sushi dining. Check this place out if you've never been!

Danna T.

Yelp
This will always be one of my favorite spots for sushi - they always have some sort of happy hour going on, and the sushi tastes fresh! The service is always very attentive and nice, even when it's packed. The ambiance is casual but can be nicer too - great for date night or casual dinner with girlfriends!

Jando S.

Yelp
While I appreciate that Aka Sushi House is popular with the community, I feel the review hype and subsequent set of experiences have been somewhat of a letdown. I fully recognize that this isn't a place to be seen as the de facto authentic sushi restaurant in Houston; which has a scene that is more attributed to the watered-down palate while charging semi-high prices for what feels like average food. It's busy here on a nightly basis. I've experienced super long waits for takeout and as a patron in house. The narrow interior means the seating arrangement can be tight and eavesdropping on convos is normal thing when it's a full house. Most of the time it's semi-big groups, date nights, and solo diners at the bar. The latter is probably the way to go. Service has been really slow in my experience. Whether it's the 45 minute takeout wait or the equally long wait while sitting in house, I think the fact they serve drinks here helps with the slow output. I think a big part of this is due to understaffing, but that's an industry wide problem at this point. Food wise, I expected more out of the various nigiri, hand rolls, and overall makeup of what I've ordered. Nigiri really varied between $4-8 for every couple of pieces, which is not a problem if the quality is there but I found it to be subpar. For the hamachi and sake sashimi, it was a little sad that at $27 nabbed us around 6 slices, which were sort of thin and underwhelming. The handrolls and 6 piece rolls were much of the same and that in itself is somewhat disappointing. Of course, no Japanese restaurant is devoid of offering exclusive sushi on their menus, so I've had some of their noodle dishes as well. The yaki-soba felt like a standard noodle dish and their ramen was surprisingly solid. While I don't think their don bowls are worth going out of the way for, but the smoked salmon egg roll was a fun choice. While I'm not rushing to come back anytime soon, I'm hopeful that my experiences here will be better going forward

Yelp
10/10 every single time. Appetizers are delicious, so many tasty rolls to chose from and their happy hour is great! Service has been good so far. Great music and lighting.

Jeannie K.

Yelp
The lunch option here is available during the week and on weekends through 3pm. It is unbeatable: 3 rolls with soup and salad for $19. We were here on Saturday. The hostess initially didn't give us the menu until prompted, which I thought was weird. I asked for the lunch menu, and she said, "It's not available but I will get it for you." ... except it was available, as it was written on the menu. Odd. Anyway, we tried both salad dressings (ginger and miso) and liked both; the non-creamy one is saltier but they are both savory and sweet. As for the rolls, this is about to be the most basic b review - I guess the selection was also that. The spicy tuna was legitimately spicy and was the winner for me. The rest are chopped fish bits with sugar, mayo, and rice. - Spicy Tuna 5/5 - Tiger Eye 4/5 - Crazy roll 4/5 - Shrimp Crunchy 4/5 - Spicy Salmon 1/5 - tasted weirdly fishy While this isn't fancy affair, at $6/roll, I am more than sold and satisfied. We'll be back!

Kristen A.

Yelp
Food: 10/10 - I frequent this restaurant because every I ever order is always delicious. I love crunchy rolls and salmon nigiri... I also love going on Saturdays because it is all day happy hour and I can pick so many options to try! Service: 8/10- it really depends on the person... some are amazing and some don't come to the table that often. Ambiance: 10/10- seating is nice. I personally prefer the booths but I love the vibes here.

Jan M.

Yelp
Great place for gathering with friends. The cocktails are very good. Our waiter was very courteous.

Silvana M.

Yelp
Whenever I think about sushi, I definitely think about Aka Sushi House. It has the most delicious, and fresh, rolls

Mikayla H.

Yelp
Great spot for happy hour, such a long list, family friendly, great customer service and food is amazing

Dara A.

Yelp
6.8/10 Drinks: tasted watered down.. Lychee Blossom Pink Lychee Food: Firecracker Shrimp-- 6/10 Gyoza-- 5/10 Shrimp Crunchy (add spicy Mayo + sriracha)-- 8/10 Spicy Yellowtail-- 4/10 Definitely a good happy hour for entrees and will be back to try out more rolls. IG: @eatgoodtx

Yelp
Came here for lunch recently and had an enjoyable experience. Service was quick and our waiter was very friendly. They have happy hour all day on Saturday and Sunday in addition to lunch specials. I would recommend doing the math to make sure you're not paying more off the HH menu compared to the lunch special menu if you're there for lunch. The full menu is open all day, too! Ambiance is family friendly and casual. Great place for a quick bite of sushi!

Hillary M.

Yelp
Food was amazing. With sushi you can really tell when something is fresh or not. The tempura was well breaded and fried fresh, not too heavy/greasy. The Crunchy roll was very delicious and had a slight fruity flavor from the eel sauce. Service was very good, the people and wait staff were very polite and attentive. The ambiance was good, it had a very friendly atmosphere. It was moderately noisy and there was music playing. It was a little too loud for me but I was also tired.

Brandi B.

Yelp
Aka is one of our neighborhood sushi spots and is always our go-to! Their service is amazing, servers are always kind and very quick, you never feel like you're sitting around wondering where your food is at. The restaurant is pretty small, but we've somehow never waited for a table despite it being busy. My only complaint is that the restroom door is right behind their computer area, so I'm always worried I'm going to get in someone's way when opening the door lol. Highly recommend visiting on Saturday or Sunday when they have all day happy hour! Their HH menu is extensive you can try a bunch of different rolls, appetizers, etc. for great prices

Audrey C.

Yelp
Love Aka for a casual happy hour/casual sushi! They also have all day happy hour on the weekends. Sometimes gets crowded, but not consistently so I've never made a reservation. Food is pretty good for the price point. Ambiance is very casual!

Rosemary B.

Yelp
Very disappointed after coming here several times. Ordered a to-go order of the SASHIM deluxe dinner (over $60) & received minimal SASHIMI pieces. Supposed to 21 pieces of salmon, tuna, white fish, take, & surf clam. Every piece was small & thinly sliced & almost a few pieces were half sliced too. Absolutely ridiculous that this was what they would be ok serving & charging for. Wondering if they would have done this if it was a sit down order. I would absolutely not recommend ordering take out from them or if you do, check all the food b4 leaving the place.

Tabatha P.

Yelp
We loved this place. Really great place and great all day happy hour on Sunday! The Octopus Sonomono Salad was one of the best we have ever had. Great miso. Super fast service.... we were starving and the food literally came in like 5 min. We couldn't believe it. I also ordered my favorite which is a spicy scallop hand roll and it also was one of the best ever. We got spicy edamame which was good but a bit too spicy for us. Great atmosphere. Came in at 6:30 and were immediately seated. Ordered within minutes and by 6:35 had our miso and salad. Then 6 min later all our food came. By 7:10 the entire restaurant was fully packed so our timing was great. We will def be back.

Dan A.

Yelp
We were drawn to Aka Sushi House by the countless positive Yelp reviews. While we experienced wonderful service from the overly attentive and kind staff, our food items did not appear fresh and was certainly not worth the hype. Despite the nice service, everything we ordered was below average and could've been better. The restaurant has an extensive and large menu with great potential. 2 stars.

Melodi D.

Yelp
Really good sushi place. The regular prices are a bit high for my taste, but the happy hour prices are totally worth it (and heads up: happy hour is all day on Saturdays and Sundays!). Service is also quick and friendly. I ordered the Cajun Roll and the Spider Roll, both of which were good. I also got the Mango Crab Hoppers, which were yummy, but not too strong on the mango flavor; they were more just like mini crab rangoons. Overall, enjoyed the food and the vibe of the restaurant!

Hillary E.

Yelp
Overall, I didn't love the ambience of the restaurant. We were seated at a two-top table in the middle of the restaurant, and there was a lot of foot traffic happening behind/around me. The service felt pretty rushed all night. The cocktail menu and wine options were pretty limited. The food was decent, but I've definitely had better sushi. My favorite rolls were the ninja and the french kiss.

Deborah N.

Yelp
Still hands down my favorite place!...and the best place in Clutch city for quality all day HH on the weekends. I hadn't been back to AKA for a hot minute!...even before COVID, it had been awhile since I stepped foot in this izakaya inspired sushi restaurant! Still boasts the same vibes, and I even recognized two of the servers that have been there since I first discovered the place! That says a lot! And I'm glad they're still standing , despite COVIDS impact on the restaurant business. However, the server we had was not friendly. She was quick to rush us, and even completely ignored us one time we were trying to get her attention. The food was great, but didn't meet it's usual standards. Been there enough times to know what to expect... We ordered our favorites from the small bites menu, ordered smoked hamachi and a few other sashimi dishes...we also ordered lychee sake and two Kirin lights. Most of the food was up to par, but the squid we ordered was over cooked and the butabara, or pork belly, was also over cooked and really hard and chewy...a few misses but overall the food was still great. The server also cleared out one of my plates without confirming if I was done eating...which was disappointing to say the least... I'm a loyal patron, so I will always love coming back to this place, but they have dropped in consistency in recent years.

Alexis C.

Yelp
Food is consistently good and the happy hour menu is both extensive and a fair price.

Zerry H.

Yelp
I am giving this place 5 stars not because it is the highest quality version of sushi or the most creative version of Japanese food you can find but because for what it is (a mid-range affordable sushi restaurant) it is top tier and one of my favorite places in Houston. Not only do they have reverse happy hour during the week but this places is always lively and the staff is always friendly. Sometimes, you might want to call ahead to make a reservation because like I said this place gets really busy and you might be waiting for a while if you are a walk in. The decor is dark and moody which I enjoy, it makes a nice casual date spot. They have a good selection of your typical liquors and also a good sake selection. The sushi rolls and entrees are also great. I'm gonna be honest, I'm not a huge fan of their nigiri, in my opinion the fish to rice ratio is always off where the fish is too big for the amount of rice. My favorite sushi roll to get is their salmon skin roll, I know it's simple but they do it so well, I pretty much get it every time I go. I also like their saba-shio (mackerel) a lot. Definitely worth checking out!

Alycia J.

Yelp
Came here for lunch, service was very fast. The issue was that I tried to order the two roll combo for lunch. Being a vegetarian there is only one roll on the offered menu (vegetable tempura roll) during the lunch menu and when I asked if I can order a avocado cucumber roll they seemed confused.... Wish they had more options but thankfully they ultimately allowed the vegetarian rolls. The salad was phenomenal (choose the creamy ginger dressing) and miso soup was good too. The sushi was very fresh and we would definitely come here again.

Brittany B.

Yelp
"Note to self- do not come here on an empty stomach after a 3 hour workout". Short of the cheesecake factor, AKA may have one of the most extensive menus around. Their menu is massive & they have 2 happy hour times (one is 9pm Til close). So, if you're anything like me, you'll be tempted to order everything on their multiple page happy hour menu. Lucky for me, my friend helped me exercise discretion. Everything we ordered was fresh, and prepared with care. *Drinks: Sake was sake. Umeshu was herbal, light, and interesting. For $5 I definitely would order again *Small plates: The shrimp tempura had a great crunch but we preferred the mango crab hoppers (ie fried pockets of delicious) & baked mussels (buttery, decedent, delicious) *Nigiri: Tuna sampler was just okay *Rolls: the salmon skin roll was just okay but my friend ordered a Senior Jamie? It was fantastic. We were stuffed, but we'll be back for dessert! If you know what to order this place is a hit, but note they close on time...when they close, they close.

Kaylee G.

Yelp
We went during lunch on Friday . Their lunch special is really good. Service was good, wait time has great maybe 10 min at most. All the sushi tasted fresh. Miso soup was hot, salad was great flavor and cold. The rice on the sushi wasn't that sticky so the rolls fell apart easy. Other then that I recommend!

Audrey T.

Yelp
Happy hour was perfect for right after work meet up! Sushi was good and waitress was extremely knowledgeable and patient. Only bad thing is it's HOT in there. They said the ac was low but we were all sweating! Do yourself a favor and try the ninja roll. Yes, there's goat cheese on it... but it's fantastic!

Lauren M.

Yelp
Came on over inside the loop for a rare night out sans children and decided to go back to my old favorite Montrose sushi joint. Made a reservation since I hadn't been in town in years and when we arrived there were towels all over the floor soaking up some sort of leak. Not a great first impression for my husband's first time here. Nonetheless we sat down and unfortunately got an extremely quiet and uninterested waiter who wasn't helpful when asked about the menu. We decided to go with my old faithful chili garlic roll, the señor Jaime and the surf-n-turf. The star was the Señor Jaime I must admit. My old faithful got knocked way down as it was the one we enjoyed the least. We did also start with the hamachi Thai chili (not pictured) as our cold appetizer and WOW! It was absolutely delicious. Small amount of food for that price but it's sushi so I'm a little more forgiving on price. Overall, I'm not sure I'd come back over picking something like Kata Robata or Uchi. Kinda makes me sad actually as I really used to enjoy this place!

Eduardo M.

Yelp
This place is always above average, not the best and not the worst, very kind and quick service. My particular choice with sushi dinner was very much enjoyable.

Laura Z.

Yelp
Aka is solid reasonably priced sushi. The service every time we have gone has been 10/10. Truly a standout. Nice atmosphere. Only reason not 5/5 stars is it's not quite the quality of fish as other extremely pricey Houston sushi spots (MF, uchi, Katami) as expected. However, Our favorite sushi place in Houston that doesn't break the bank. We are loyal customers and will continue to return!

Erika T.

Yelp
Great fish and super friendly staff. And reasonable prices too. This is our favorite sushi place in the upper Kirby area

John Y.

Yelp
For lunch, I ordered the Poseidon Bento Box for $17. The waiter asked, "Is fried rice okay?" I didn't realize I had a choice to make. I likely would have chosen steamed rice, but his phrasing led me to agree. I paid the bill & realized I was charged $21. My bill simply said, "Poseidon Box - $21." I asked the manager on my way out. She told me the $4 was because I chose to have fried rice (not itemized on the bill). I replied that the waiter should have told me that. She agreed & said she would talk to him. I left, unhappy & talking under my breath. It's a small thing & a small amount, but I may remember that unfavorably the next time I want sushi.

Maya G.

Yelp
no pics unfortunately because we were all so starving. our waitress was super nice, and all of our food was very fresh and brought out quickly. baked mussels were delicious! definitely a must-try appetizer. houston roll and salmon avocado roll were great. negihana roll was so good we had to get seconds. two appetizers + 7 rolls + tax = $98. will be back!

Quonesha J.

Yelp
Aka sushi has a great happy hour menu so that you can try a little bit of everything on the menu. I also opt for a different sushi roll everytime. My drink however was not the best tasting. I decided to keep it tho to be able to provide an adequate review.

Melissa L.

Yelp
came here for dinner with my family on a saturday night. was really busy but we were able to get seated pretty much as soon as we walked in. our server, sophia, soon introduced herself and was super attentive and nice to us the whole time despite it being busy. miso soup: pretty average miso soup you'd expect to find at any japanese restaurant. nothing crazy but still good. teriyaki chicken bento: SO so good. best teriyaki chicken i've ever had. the chicken isn't too dry or chewy or anything and the sauce isn't too overwhelming or too salty, it was just right! the rice and veggies that came with it were also pretty good! california roll: pretty average california roll. was good but nothing too special. noodles: these were really cool! the noodles were really good but some of the stuff that came on the side was interesting, especially the egg. the ambiance was kind of bad tbh. it was really loud (could barely hear the person talking in front of me) and there was not a lot of room to move around. we were also seated right in front of the restrooms. the deco was pretty cool. overall good spot for japanese food! nothing too crazy besides the teriyaki chicken. will definitely be back for that! food: 3/5 ambiance: 1/5 service: 5/5

Hamsini S.

Yelp
Solid sushi restaurant. Came here once a few years ago and wasn't too impressed, but recently have been here a few times for happy hour and have had a better experience. Happy hour menu is pretty generous: 3-7PM M-F and all day Sat/Sun and spans two pages on the menu. Sushi is pretty good - favorites are the spicy salmon roll and Houston roll (both not pictured). I usually stick with wine or sake, but have come with friends who tried HH cocktails and enjoyed them (lychee blossom seems to be a favorite, sweet and on the lighter side). Service is sometimes a bit slow, but everyone is friendly and ambiance is decent. They have a full section of the menu devoted to non-sushi items such as noodle and rice dishes that I have yet to try, so will be back to check those out.

Lindsey B.

Yelp
The best sushi in Houston! The food is always hot and fresh. Quick service and friendly staff. Toni took care of us. If you're looking for some deliciousness come here you won't be disappointed

Valerie A.

Yelp
The last time I came here, the food AND the drinks felt sub-par to my previous experiences in years prior. Not sure what happened, but I was surely disappointed.
