"Dressed in white and sporting a bow tie, Yujiro Watanabe greets his guests with a smile. His spirit of graceful service is ‘delicious, fun and welcoming’. Sesame ground in a large bowl, karasumi (salted and dried grey mullet roe) shaved before customers’ eyes and the staging of the kitchen are three shared moments. Rice from Niigata, produced by his sister and her husband, is used. Sea bream chazuke (green tea poured over rice) is a legacy from his mentor. The gratitude is palpable, the conversation lively." - Michelin Inspector

Such a fantastic Japanese traditional restaurant. Each meal is so delicious and detailed. I enjoyed listening to the themes of meals from the master. We appreciated detailed presentations with playfulness. I enjoyed chatting with the master chef. Thank you so much for the lovely time.

Tbh I felt the food was so-so. My most favorite was the crab meat cheese gratin. Everything else was bland and didn’t really stand out in terms of plating / execution. I was able to get a booking the day before the New Year, maybe that should have been a warning sign! Service was alright, the chef didn’t bother to explain the item a few times. I was quite disappointed that it didn’t have a Japanese (or English) menu that I could take home. Atmosphere was great though, good to see the chef preparing food in front of me. I personally don’t recommend this place..

Found the restaurant via Tabelog and it was def a miss as there only 2 parties of foreigners (including me) on the table 😅 I personally didn’t enjoy most of the food served and some of the dishes def need an acquired taste (ex. fried turtle with a big chunk of fat???) plus most dishes were on a saltier side… I do appreciate the chefs making an effort to communicate and walking me out after the meal🙏

this was such an amazing dining experience. I ate foods that I never thought I would eat, and I enjoyed every bite of it.. They were able to accommodate a group of 10. The staff was very kind and helped us with whatever we needed. Definitely a great spot to go to try the amazing dishes of japan

It was a very delicious Kaiseki meal. One of the better ones we've had in Japan. Only issue we has was that we were a bit disappointed that the Chef and Staff did not introduce or explain the dishes to us. But otherwise was a great experience!
