"Be prepared for a lot of screaming here (seriously, bring some Advil), as this is the prime place in the park to get up close and personal with the princesses, right in Anna and Elsa’s house. In addition to being a hot ticket for kids who’ve been waiting their whole lives to hug Tiana in a medieval castle, the food here is excellent. You’ll get a lot of Norwegian dishes like lefse, a potato-based flatbread, and some nicely spiced kjØttkake meatballs. If the kid you’re with is, shall we say, specific in their tastes, you can also get plain old mac and cheese." - carina finn koeppicus, anne cruz

Very mixed experience. We had reservations at restaurant opening. We were the second table seated, and we were in this nice little circle room that had big lovely windows and lots of light. The rest of the restaurant was extremely dark and unpleasant. I would’ve been really disappointed to have been seated there. Our server was very interactive and friendly. We really enjoyed chatting with him about his experiences working for Disney. The princess interactions were a bit of a letdown. They give you this card with 10 different princess signatures on it. I asked if that meant we were going to meet 10 princesses because that seemed like a lot. Our server told us the number of princesses depends on the day. He said it could be two or it could be six they just never know. They also never know which princesses it will be. Unfortunately on our day it was just three. I feel the minimum should be four character interactions for such an expensive meal since the whole point is meeting the princesses in the first place. The interactions are also quite short, a minute or less perhaps because we were the second table each princess visited when they came out. They felt like they had to rush to get to everybody, but I would’ve liked to have seen more involvement. The food will be great for some and not for others. It is more of a European style breakfast, which we enjoy. That means cold, pastries, cheeses, sliced meats, fruits, and yes, there are some things like eggs, and little heart-shaped waffles. We personally really enjoyed the food. Honestly, one of the best parts was walking out of the restaurant and walking right onto the frozen ride because we had our Lightening Lane ready. So I wouldn’t call this place a must visit every single trip, but it’s definitely worth going to once maybe later in the day they even have more princesses available.

If you have a daughter (teenager and younger) this restaurant is a must during your visit to Epcot center. The food is beyond edible and served in family-style with unlimited replenish. But you are not dining here for culinary excellence. It’s quite an experience. While you devour more-than-edible Norwegian cuisine, each of Disney princesses will come to your table for photo opportunities. These are special moments, especially for the little girls. Yes, the bill will be justified. Use your DVC or Annual Pass membership for modest discount.

This was a huge disappointment. The cost of the meal was not reflected in the quality of the food. Obviously you're paying for the character dining experience. That part was great, all the princesses were there. The service was very good as well, everyone was friendly and attentive. Being married to a Norwegian, I am very familiar with the food and nothing there was authentic except for the Norwegian cheeses, lefsa and the strawberry rice pudding. Those parts of the meal were very good. The entrees were not. Salmon over cooked as was the chicken. Mashed potatoes were gummy consistency, green beans were basically raw but carrots were cooked perfectly. Overall, it was a terrible meal. I remember the Norwegian pavilion before it went to character dining and the food was buffet style and everything was authentic Norwegian and very, very good. You can do better Disney.

Google
What a magical dinner experience! We loved meeting the princesses, even though the visits with each were brief. We got to talk to them, get autographs, and get a picture. The setting is a gorgeous castle that is perfect for princess dining! The food was good but not spectacular. There is the standard and the plant based option to choose from, and our party had one plant based and one regular meal. The plant based one could have been better, as they give more food to those ordering the regular option. I did like the mashed potatoes and green beans, and vegan sausage a lot though, and ordered seconds for all those! The servers were friendly and accommodating, and for the fixed menu cost, you can get any extras as if it's a buffet, you just have to ask though and they bring it to your table. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time to get in quickly at your desired time.

Google
I would give this negative stars if possible that’s how horrible my experience was. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall ruined what should’ve been a magical family experience. We had a reservation for 8 people at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, but due to a last-minute change, we had to bring my brother’s child, bringing our party to 9. You’d think that at a family restaurant inside Disney World, this would be no big deal—just add a chair, right? Wrong. When we checked in, we were coldly told that they “couldn’t accommodate us” and were “too busy” to add one seat. Mind you, we’re not talking about rearranging an entire seating chart—we just wanted one extra chair at our table. But the staff stood firm and refused. The kicker? Once we were seated, we noticed at least 10 empty tables that stayed empty the entire time we were there. I took photos for proof of all the empty tables. So clearly, this wasn’t a space/being busy issue—it was a “we don’t feel like helping you or doing our job” issue. Faced with no other choice, we had to decide who in our party of family to leave behind. So do we leave the 5 year old, 8 year old, 12 year old, or my 75 year old parents… you tell me who to choose? Can you imagine having to chose between family members who was going to have to find food elsewhere when we booked this months and months in advance?? My sister ended up volunteering to skip the meal. Imagine that—at a Disney character dining experience, a family member having to sit outside while her family eats without her. It would be impossible to find a reservation for 9 people the day of, which is why we planned this reservation months in advance but did not know we would need to bring my niece with us. Absolutely heartbreaking. Disney is known for its magic, compassion, and guest experience. Akershus completely missed the mark. Service terrible, food terrible, cleanliness terrible. Shame on this restaurant for failing to accommodate a simple request and for making us choose between family members like we were at a lifeboat drill. Never again.

Google
The highlight is the princesses. The interaction is extremely quick. The best princess was Tiana as she was in character and very interactive. The only princess that literally took the extra 1 minute to make 2 girls day. The food is family style: pastries, bacon, eggs, cheesy potatoes. All was good but nothing stood out. For 2 adults and 1 paying child the bill was over $200. Of note despite our reservation the restaurant was backed up and we were seated 30 minutes late after standing in a check in line twice. not great for tired little princesses. Disney has you with this one because many girls want to see the princesses. one and done for us.

Erin Miner

Google
The food is delicious for breakfast. And they bring you more of whatever you want. Not really sure where the Norwegian flare was maybe pastries. You definitely don’t feel like you are in a castle or at a kings table. It’s kind of like a mountain diner on the inside. Our waiter was annoyed when we couldn’t pronounce his name and that attitude stayed the whole time. The princesses were rushed and my girls got just quick pictures and go. It was overall my least favorite character meal and I think we would skip it next time.

I am Norwegian (Dual British), my family is from Horten, Norway, so now that I live in the USA with my American wife, we went to Epcot, Norway Pavilion today, because it's 17 Mai, Norwegian Independence Day. We booked a reservation in Akershus restaurant weeks ago. All that was fine, our waiter Magnus from Elverum, was excellent. However the food was very disappointing. Everything was on one plate, it had Salmon on top of something I can only describe as Surkål (Americans would say Suarkraut)! But had no flavour like real Surkål, next to it was Mac & Cheese ...WHICH is not Norwegian at all, A piece of Chicken with some cream sauce ? And mashed potatoes with Swedish style meatballs. With lingonberry splashed over the potato. None of it was good. The Salmon was dry, the Chicken was dry and tough, the meat balls ...even Swedes would not make it this bad. I wasn't able to eat any of it. Magnus was a star, he brought an extra plate of the Lefse and cheese, so we could take that home. I thought it was supposed to be Buffet style and with proper Norwegian kjøttkaker, reker smørbrød osv...I remember eating here in 2003 and it was awesome, it really has gone down Hill since. Also it wasn't cheap. We went there to get Norwegian food not so much interested in Princesses...I see it's catered to Americans (families with children)! And clearly aimed at getting children in there. It's now second time we have tried Character dining, and both times it's been awful food. We are not going to do it again, food is better at Disney hotels than at the parks. Overall, if you want to est Norwegian food I would not recommend this place. Kjempe skuffet... Dette var ikke Godt nok.

Yelp
We were treated like royalty ! No demand was too silly. It was a birthday meal that left us bursting ! Truly something for everyone ! Princesses were lovely ! And our server Charlotte was the best ! Meatballs and lingon berry WITH mashed potatoes is my favorite ! Pre meal spread was ALSO my favorite. I just love lingon berry i guess ! The vinaigrette on the salad was so good. Yummy cheese and breads! Loved the caramelized goat cheese. I LOOOVE POTATO SALAD ! i ate so much. This was definitely an experience worth waiting for !

Yelp
Well, if you have children, this is one of the best character breakfasts you can take them to to meet several princesses, if you're coming for food, this is not the place you want to go. Everything we had wasn't very good, so we basically lived off the scrambled eggs and some pastries. But it's your typical family style breakfast. None of the pastries had any flavor, all the food was bland and greasy. And as you should expect with Disney, the price per person, and the overall total of the bill was steep. Service was great, however! Everyone certainly works very hard to here. If you have children and want them to meet their favorite princesses go for it. Otherwise I don't see a reason to come here and waste your money on terrible food

Yelp
Surprisingly - I really enjoyed dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall for their family style breakfast. I made reservations for 11:15 am so we could do some rides prior, but still make it for their breakfast menu. I had low expectations since you are basically paying to meet/greet Disney Princesses while you are there. However - the food was great and the server came back several times to ask if we wanted refills of anything. My family and I got to meet all the Disney Princesses as well. Towards the end of our meal we were asked if we got to meet all the princesses so it's nice that they check too. Overall: great choice for princess dining in the parks and a perfect midday break.

Tina H.

Yelp
Not worth the money anymore. Super disappointing- no kids included in the princess parade and no professional photo included. Eggs were bland and awful.

Jon H.

Yelp
The character / princess aspect was fun, but the food wasn't good enough to justify the high price tag. Sure it's all you can eat, but the food isn't worth eating that much of it. One and done for us. There are better options at Epcot.

Nobbi L.

Yelp
As some of the other Epcot restaurants have progressively gotten worse, this one wins the race. From a former full buffet with classic Norwegian fare including pickled herring and diverse salads, via an appetizer buffet, to no buffet, no a la carte offers, just a bunch of bland food served family style. This would be a one star review, if not for the delightful staff and ambiance.

Vivian G.

Yelp
It's a family style menu, so they bring out the courses for you to share, and there was plenty of food, my favorite was the meatballs with mash, very tasty. Swrvice was great, the young man serving us was so soft spoken it was hard to hear him as it does get pretty loud in there. The Princess' showing up was why we were there for my grandsons bday dinner. They were all so beautiful & let him talk their ears off It was alot of money but #1, it's Disney and #2, it was for my grandson..money well spent!

Melanie B.

Yelp
This was the ultimate Disney princess experience! I have nothing but great things to say about Akershus. The breakfast was hearty and delicious. The standout item here was definitely the heart shaped waffles. Surprisingly really delicious. Not sure why, but they are a step above other waffles. Our server was so sweet and kind. Since it is family style you don't even have to think about ordering. They just bring you a nice variety of fresh fruit, cheese, bread, waffles, etc. This is perfect so you can concentrate more on eating and meeting the princesses. My girls met all 5 that were there and they were all great. My kids had so much fun talking to them and interacting with them. I will say they were all good, but Tiana and Snow White were the stand outs. They had their tone of voices and mannerisms down pat. So cool to see! My girls loved this!

Arlene M.

Yelp
My husband and I made dining reservations for breakfast here in order to secure entry to the Candlelight processional. It definitely looks like a Norweign castle in here. The place is beautifully laid out. An open book greets you signifying what Akershus really stands for. Our breakfast was an all you can eat platter service featuring different types of breakfast foods. Starting off with pastriesand cheeses, you work you way to the mixed fruit and then to scrambled eggs, cheese potato casserole, bacon, sausage, and Norway styled waffles. There is plenty to eat but it is your standard breakfast fare. I wasn't too fond of the cheese potato casserole but did enjoy some of the pastries and the waffles as well as the fruit. Every so often a trumpet would sound heralding the arrival of a princess. She in turn made her way around the tables signing autographs and posing for pictures. You do get a presigned card with all the princesses' names on it. I got to meet Belle, Tiana, and Snow White. It made for a fun visit. The upcharge for this buffet is what really hurts. Normally this sells for $55.00 per person but with the Candlelight processional reservation that cost was raised to $71.00 per person plus tax. It truly isn't worth this much money for a character meal however, it did pay off later since we were able to make it into the processional without as much of a line and not too bad a wait. All in all it was an average visit. Nevertheless with the popularity of the processional it pays to get a reservation anywhere to insure entry. Located in the Norway pavillion in World Showcase in EPCOT.

Fred K.

Yelp
Well the main reason is to see the princesses. I booked this to help avoid the long character meets for tomorrow Mickeys Christmas party at Magic Kingdom. My little girl took pics with Aurora, Belle, Snow White, Milan, and Tiana. It was great. Mulan and Snow White were firsts for us. The food at dinner was surprisingly good! The salmon was nice and hot and so moist that I asked for more and they provided me one extra one. Nice snap and crispy green beans too. The Mac and cheese and mini corn dogs (wish it was crispier) was fine for my girl. The meatballs were a little dense and the mashed potatoes helped that dish. The rice pudding was a surprise hit for me and the cake was good as well. Our server was okay. The adult drinks took forever and our seat where we sat is the first table where the princesses go too, after they are announced via loud music. It was great. Didn't have to wait for them! But the lighting in the dining room was awful to take pics in. We had to redo so many pics and thankfully the princesses were accommodating.

Raelene V.

Yelp
Let me preface this review by saying this is more about an experience than the food. Our recent trip was kid centered and to a seven year old little girl what's better than a princess breakfast? We ate here back when it was a Norwegian smorgasbord and the cast members practically had to drag passerby tourists in to eat the many types of pickled fish they served. It definitely wasn't everyone's bag. But now it's a standard family style breakfast with vague nods to Norwegian cuisine. The banquet hall itself is beautiful and the kids were in awe. My DD was in awe of the servers and wondered out loud if everyone from Norway look like models. Carol-linne our server was in training with Olga supervising. Both were so sweet and friendly. After we ordered our beverages the first plate to the table was included pastries, crackers with meat and cheese and a fruit jam. They also brought a big bowl of fruit which the children loved. On this plate there was one slice of brown cheese called Gjetost. It was delicious! I have researched it and am happy to learn I can get it at Trader Joe's! The next plate had sausage links, bacon, potato casserole, scrambled eggs and heart shaped waffles that our server said were the best at WDW. All the food was good but sausage loving grandson thought the links were "too spicy". It was your basic breakfast fare. We were visited by four beautiful princesses: Snow White, Ariel, Belle and Rapunzel. Each was ushered into the hall with a fanfare and her own theme music, very exciting! They spent a few minutes at each table chatting (they seem to have several memorized patters but answered the kids questions). Even my 9 yo grandson enjoyed them. They signed autographs and let us take pictures. They also got a signed autograph graph postcard at the end. My cast member daughter had a 40% off dining coupon and our total bill was about $100 plus gratuity. Without the coupon it would have been over $200. Pretty steep for a basic breakfast but then again...Princesses. I would say we probably wouldn't go again unless a new granddaughter needs a princess breakfast.

Phuong N.

Yelp
This place feels like such a fun escape though the overall lighting is a bit dark. When we went, Ariel, Belle, Aurora, Tiana and Snow White were there. They came very frequently, which was great but it does become a little difficult for your toddler today with so much excitement. Dinner came family style on a big plate. There were roll ups, salad, mac and cheese, green beans, salmon, meatballs, and soup. Dessert comprised of chocolate cake and a rice pudding. All of it was delicious. Such a fun experience.

Jonathan H.

Yelp
The food is overall very very good, and the meatballs stand out as the best part! Portions are very large, and the 2 of us had plenty of food leftover. Even without kids, it's a fun atmosphere and it's cool to see all of the princesses who are very excellent at staying in character. Our waitress was very friendly and gave us a lot of interesting info about Norway. It's very expensive... I would recommend doing it at least once, but we probably wouldn't make it a regular occurrence.

Claudia C.

Yelp
Akershus Royal Banquet is a great character dining experience especially if you have young children. Meals are served family style and include macaroni and cheese & corn dog nuggets for children who don't like Swedish meatballs, salmon, red cabbage and such. The Lefsa (flat bread) with cardamom-cinnamon butter was excellent as was everything else we were served. Because it is family style you are able to ask for more if you want but my husband and I found it quite filling and even had a little extra. Non-alcohol beverages are included in the price. As with all specialty dining at Disney is a fixed price. As a couple with no children we did find it a bit loud but fun to see how excited the little kids got when the princesses arrived at the table. Servers were polite and friendly and were on top of refills without being asked.

Jodi V.

Yelp
Food was good. Service was really great! The reason to visit is for the performance that all the princesses put on - they stay in full character and are so great with children.

Kamiko S.

Yelp
We had a breakfast reservation and overall it was a great experience. The princess really took the time to talk to our girls & not just rush for a photo and move on. The food was really good, we LOVED the smoked salmon cream cheese. The environment was nice and clean. The only thing I didn't care for was the feeling of being rushed. Multiple times someone came to our table asking if what princess we needed to see & if we were done. (Not our waiter). We hadn't been there long, at all. We took the hint and finished up. There was a long line outside so it pretty much confirmed our feeling. But besides that, it was a good experience.

Larry S.

Yelp
The food was good as was the service but the price for dinner was ridiculously high. Over $60 per adult and $41 for children. I know it's Disney as well as 5 Disney princesses stopped by all the tables. Best part was the look on our grand daughter's face when they did.

Jess F.

Yelp
I can't win with Akershus :( We found the dinner choices to be borderline inedible, so instead we tried the Princess Breakfast. It was family-style so we were excited but hardly any food was included in this "feast." However, if your kid wants to meet SEVERAL princesses, the breakfast will do it.

Ashley G.

Yelp
Is it expensive? Very. Is the food good? Absolutely! Although I have only ever had breakfast here--I can't speak for lunch and dinner. However they serve family style waffles, eggs, bacon, hash browns, sausage, and an assortment of cheese and pastries. The atmosphere is 10/10--Disney theming for the win. Also, the princesses make it a magical experience for the little ones. They come to every table to say hello and visit. They will take pictures and sign autographs. You also get an autograph card at the end.

Teresa W.

Yelp
We went to the Princess breakfast here last week and we all loved it. The breakfast is an American breakfast, it's all you can eat. Your server brings it to the table and you can reorder as many times as you. It's scrambled eggs, waffles, potatoes,Swedish crepes, fruits and pastry's. The food was wonderful. Our server was wonderful and the entire staff was wonderful It was a great breakfast

Ward D.

Yelp
A nice restaurant and an excellent choice for parents with princesses This is the restaurant in the Disney EPCOT park located in the Norway section. It is on the East side of the World Showcase Lagoon. I wanted to see the Candlelight processional and bought a package deal that included a meal at this restaurant. This is one of the places that I have never tried in all of my visits to this park. We had reservations and it is best to make them before you get there to ensure you can get in as this is a popular place for parents with princesses. You check in at the entrance to the Location. They will call you forward and escort you in when your table is ready. The restaurant is styled after a castle with large rooms with about 6 tables in each room. The cost is high ($67/person) and the food is Ikea-like with meatballs, salmon, chicken, and dumplings. The waitress was nice. The food was acceptable. The real draw for this was that the Disney Princesses come into your room and visit EVERY table. So if you have kids that want to meet their idols, take pictures, and interact with them, this is YOUR place. Every princess visited every table. They were dressed beautifully and stayed in character the entire time. Highly recommend it for parents with princesses.

Cyrus C.

Yelp
Finally snagged a reservation at this restaurant in the Norway pavilion at Epcot. We were seated promptly at the time of our reservation. The restaurant is nice and spacious and bright. This restaurant is really more about the experience than the food. You get to meet 5 different princess and take pictures etc. Unfortunately nobody from Frozen even though this was in Norway. On to the food. Pretty much your typical comfort food, but it was better than some of the other character restaurants we ate at. Starts off with a refreshing salad and lefse, which is like a flatbread that comes with cinnamon butter. Then for the family style platter you get corn dog nuggets, salmon, meatballs, Mac and cheese, green beans, mash potatoes and cabbage. Also chicken and dumplings. You can ask for as much as you want. The salmon was kind of dry which was my only complaint. If you want to meet the princesses then this is the restaurant to book!

Yelp
The last time my parents were at Disney (30+ years ago...), the experience at Akershus really stuck with them- they really enjoyed the food. During a recent trip to Disneyworld, I got to help my parents relive that experience. Make sure you make a reservation because it gets booked up FAST- even with a reservation, you may need to wait awhile until your table is called. Service: Simply amazing. Our server was so personable and told us so much about her hometown in Norway. She took care to explain the menu to us and was super sweet. Food: Set "all you can eat" menu that they bring to your table, includes Norwegian meatballs, salmon, corn dog nuggets (?), and various sides like mac n cheese, red cabbage, green beans and mashed potatoes. The server will come back to check in on you and you can request more food. Lefse with the cinnamon butter was delicious- more a dessert than an appetizer in my view but fantastic nonetheless. The PRINCESSES!!!- They will come by your table one by one and take pictures/interact with you. I saw that the princesses took extra time to chat with the kids at other tables, and the expressions on those kids' faces...!!! so heartwarming.

Allie G.

Yelp
10/10! This place was awesome! You go to the cast member 15 mins prior to your reservation, they check you in and not even 2 minutes later we were called in and sat down. Our server was amazing and so attentive. Soda, juice, tea, and coffee all included with the meal. Family style so you get appetizers, main course, & dessert. Everything was delicious! Authentic Norwegian foods, and Mac and cheese for the littles. Delicious! The princesses came around and they spent a decent time chatting and interacting with my daughter and taking pictures. The price can be shocking but it's Disney and the memories are invaluable. One heads up, if they ask you if you want more of anything, they bring a HUGE serving of it. We ended up wasting food but that's the downside of family style dining.

Manuel F.

Yelp
The Food Delicious, The service exceptional, Our Server Therese was Friendly, Accommodating, Professional This is our 4th Times here and we're like always never disappointed, when in Epcot Make a Reservation.

Rosie A.

Yelp
Delicious food. Amazing dessert, and the princesses were lovely of course. We got sat all the way in the back corner but we still enjoyed our meal

Raquel F.

Yelp
Enjoyed the breakfast and princess interactions! Food was delicious and the service was exceptional.

Erica N.

Yelp
While it was fun to eat here, the food was severely lacking. The waffles were soggy and limp and the potatoes were overly cheesy it was just too much cheese and u couldn't even taste the potatoes, it was like eating a block of cheese. Seeing all the princesses was fun and the fruits and cheese and meat platter was nice w the breakfast pastry but for something as simple as breakfast eggs and potatoes and waffles the food should've been better.

Gerry L.

Yelp
For dinner we were able to get a reservation for Akershus at the Norway Pavilion which has become very well known for their Disney princess buffets. Here just like many other Disney restaurants is all you can eat family style with a Norwegian twist. To start they brought out lefse with their field green salad. The salad was fresh while the vinaigrette was ok not the best in the property. The lefse are Norwegian crepes rolled up served with a cinnamon butter, the butter was the best part while the crepe were a little stale. The main dish arrived and it included grilled salmon, meatballs, mashed potatoes, green beans, Mac and cheese. The salmon was ok I wish it had a little bit of flavor while the meatballs were solid and very tasty. The sides were good quality and the same you will find in other restaurants around the property. For dessert they brought out a rice pudding a roll up chocolate cake, the cake was not moist but it was chocolate. The rice pudding was creamy and the better of the two desserts. The staff were very friendly and it was amazing to see all the Disney princesses.

The staff was beyond friendly! Our waitress did a fantastic job of being aware of food allergy requests and also explaining the menu. We enjoyed talking to her and learning about Norwegian food. The appetizers were fresh, and the cinnamon butter was delicious! The main entree the mashed potatoes & green beans were truly the stars. Wasn't a huge fan of the chicken dumplings, was a bit too messy. I do wish the food has been a bit hotter. The macaroni didn't have much flavor. Dessert was very unique in flavor. It wasn't my favorite but I'm glad we tried it. We had 5 Princesses stop at our table to say hi. Jasmine and Ariel were like on point with their acting. I appreciated that they took a little extra time to interact. It's a very expensive dining experience. For the price, Cinderella's Royal Table is probably a better deal if the characters return during dinner. However this was a relaxing dinner and I'm glad we tried it!

Yelp
Akershus is worth every penny! It's located in the Norway area of Epcot and offers a family style meal where you meet 5 princesses. The meal is worth the time it saves from waiting in line at the parks to meet each Princess. We were able to get a next day reservation for a late dinner. We were seated quickly after checking in and greeted by our server, Julie. She took great care of us and we enjoyed talking with her about her experience in the DCP. We advised her of food allergies and she notified the chef and assured us that the items were free from our allergens. Soft drinks are included in the cost and alcohol and specialty drinks are an additional cost. First course is salad and a crepe with cinnamon butter. The second course consists of salmon, meatballs, chicken and dumplings, mini corn dogs, Mac n cheese, green beans, mashed potatoes, and cabbage. Dessert was a chocolate cake and riced pudding. All of the food was delicious and you are able to order more of anything that you'd like. The serving was more than enough for 4 of us - 2 teens and 2 adults so we didn't need to order more of anything. Th princesses make their way to each table while you're eating so there is no need to get up. Each princess interacted with us, talking for a bit, posing for photos, and signing our souvenirs. We met Ariel, Belle, Tiana, Jasmine, and Snow White. Bottom Line - This is a great way to meet 5 princesses in approximately an hour while getting a flavorful meal in air conditioning.

Yelp
This was my first time doing a character dining experience at disney and I was very surprised how good the food was. It was basic breakfast food (eggs, pancakes , had browns , and waffles) but it tasted amazing. We also had a very good server from Norway who provided us with amazing customer service. It was very cool how the princesses were able to stop at each table and take pictures with you throughout the meal. Only gave 4 stars because the price was a little high for just basic breakfast items.

Yelp
The salad was good, and green beans were crisp. The mashed potatoes were good. The Lafse (rolled flat bread) with cardimon cinnamon butter was nice. All the food was luke warm to cold. Salmon was dry and hard. I found a few bones. The fish seriously needed acid or flavor. The meatballs were dense. The lindenberry sauce striped over the meat and improved them. Stew was fair. Kids liked the mini corn dogs and Mac n cheese, so there was that. I think only to purpose was to have an introduction to Disney Royalty and Photo ops. I think they could have played it up better, maybe announcing them Royals as they came in. My 2 year old grand daughter was starstruck. She got hugs and did twirls with them. Nice photos. Bathrooms were jammed as they were used as a dressing room full of kids and moms primping girls getting into formals. It felt like kid prom night. I was told to leave the restaurant and find a restroom around the corner. I think the hostess should have directed people coming in with garment bags to the restrooms around the corner instead to dress up. Service was just okay kept asking it was just them taking drink orders and bringing family style platters. The price was high for such food.

Yelp
Brought our kids here. My daughter is a big Princess fan, as are my wife and I! Food was pretty good for being a buffet. Meatballs were the best part of the meal and my kids loved the corn dog nuggets! The service here was great too! Our waitress was incredible and gave us a lesson on the Norwegian dishes. The princesses were great too! Went out of their way to have good interactions with everyone! Only issue was the price. It was over $300 after tip. But imo, it was worth it. If you have a Princess fan in your family, definitely go!

Yelp
Akershus has been a tradition for my daughter since she was three. I know, I know... It can look like one of Disney's pricier options but understand this is one of the better options when it comes to Disney Dining Experiences. Upon entering guest are immediately chauffeured for a photo with princess Belle. Its not a crazy meet and greet but also not your typical park day. She does take the time to speak with each guest to really add that extra magic. Once seated and drinks ordered be sure to head over to the buffet line. Thats right I said buffet. The meal includes all you can eat eggs, sausage, bacon, and potatoes that will be served by your incredible Disney server/cast member/incredible human that is helping you make all things wonderful that day. Back to that buffet. Get ready for salmon and lox, capers, pastries, tasty desserts and more. After scoping out what you're working with. I would suggest to get back to the table to ensure you make even more princess interactions and not be late to the princess processional planned for the little ones to truly top off the royalty. *Parents if you have a little one that is all about the signatures have that handy and available. Theres no telling when a princess may peak in. All in all your receiving a huge value with the princess interaction available and all you can eat tasty eats!

Yelp
We were lucky enough to snag a reservation for the reopening of Akershus. The new family-style menu didn't sound super appealing but we wanted to dine with the princesses. We were pleasantly surprised with the food quality! Everything was super flavorful and fresh. The only thing I didn't care for was the macaroni and cheese. The meatballs, cabbage, salmon, and salad were fabulous. Our server, Sarah, was attentive and super friendly. Each of the five princesses (Ariel, Jasmine, Aurora, Snow White, and Belle) came by our table and was patient to take pictures with everyone in my party. I would definitely come back; I'm so glad it's reopened.

Yelp
The food is worse than most quick service meals we had. My family of 5 ate there for $400 after tip. We at at Flame Tree and Harbor House for less than $55. It would have to be about meeting the princesses (there were a whopping 5 and not even Anna and Elsa that did meet and greets in Norway), but even then, it is really not worth it. Plan ahead and get to the park early for meet and greets, or watch the clock to get to certain ones early. If you have multiple kids under 3 then yeah, worth it. If you have 1 child that is 6 and the rest are over 10 so adult priced, it is really not worth it. Overall, the absolute biggest regret of the trip. I really wish I had chosen Tuskar House breakfast for a meet and greet. Breakfast is cheaper anyway and the food is so much better.

Yelp
Had a lunch reservation for 6 here at the royal banquet hall located in Norway at epcot. I ordered the traditional kjettkake, which is the norwegian meatballs served with mashed potatoes, seasoned veggies, and also ordered a side of scandinavian beer to drink it with. I never had scandinavian beer before and it was surprisingly good! They also have buffet items that you can get up and grab before your entree comes out. Great place to take your little ones since many princesses go around table by table to take pictures. Make sure you have autograph books out and ready so they can sign it! Overall great service and food was pretty good! A little pricey but as expected for a magical dining experience at disneyworld.

Yelp
A Magical Meal This is an experience best enjoyed with children. Our young granddaughter joined us for our magical lunch last week to celebrate her upcoming birthday. We had made reservations far in advance, and we had also ordered a Mickey Mouse Celebration specialty cake. When we arrived, we were greeted like royalty with an announcement of our arrival, met and took photos with the hostess Belle, and shown to our table. I was concerned when we were seated by the windows, a bit away from the large dining area. I needn't have worried, we had an excellent time. Our server was great, helping us as we ordered and taking good care of us throughout our visit. We started with the appetizer buffet, salads, sliced meat and cheese that brought back memories of recent trips to Europe, and other items. I managed a second trip just before our main entrees arrived, in my case their meatballs and mashed potatoes. This traditional dish reminded me of IKEA, which is not a bad thing. As we ate, we were visited by four princesses, complete with beautiful gowns and approachable, signing our autograph book and taking photos. Our granddaughter was beside herself happy. After the princesses had visited the tables in the restaurant, they did what is called the princess parade, where they circled around the dining area, spaced apart by joyful children in a long line. The birthday cake arrived, a chocolate semi-sphere with Mickey ears, larger than I expected. We also received a birthday card signed by the princesses. With that, other dessert items were brought. As Disney tends to do, this was a first-class experience. I don't believe it was much more than an hour before we were finished. It was an expensive meal, Disney tends to charge a lot of money for things, but seeing just how happy and I hope memorable the experience was for our granddaughter, it was well worth every cent.

Yelp
Belle, Cinderella, Ariel, Snow White, and Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) all showed up for breakfast this morning! If you have a little prince or princess of your own, a Disney Princess at heart (that's me hehe!), and have the wallet to support this magical experience, then this character breakfast is totally worth it. I made reservations 60 days in advance and chose the 8:10am time slot, so we were able to get into the park before it officially opened at 9:00am. Slip on your princess gown, don a tiara, or showcase your ears, because this is a fantastic photo opp! Our first photo was at the entrance with Belle. Then our royal family (they welcome you in by calling you by your royal family name) was seated for the Norwegian breakfast buffet in the medieval themed castle (restaurant hall). After grabbing some fruit, pastries, appetizer meats and cheeses, our server from Norway delivered a large plate of scrambled eggs, potato casserole, sausage, and bacon to our table - all made fresh and it was delicious. Beverages you can request through the server are coffee, milk, tea, Bloody Mary, mimosa, and coke products. Within 15 minutes of dining, we were soon greeted by the Princesses one by one at our table for some small talk and more photos. They were all very sweet. At one point they asked all of the little prince and princesses to participate in the royal procession around the banquet hall. Looks like they all enjoyed it very much! Even though my little prince is officially an adult, our Party of 3 still had an enjoyable time! We finished in about an hour and as soon as we were done we hopped over to the Frozen Ever After ride, which was only a 10-minute wait.

Yelp
Excellent European buffet with salads, and other specialties, followed by a fantastically served Norwegian meal (don't fret, they have ample American fare for the squeamish and kiddos). If you manage to finish all that, you for sure won't make it through their Norwegian desert sampler. The wait staff is all from Norway, and the chefs have done a fantastic job of ensuring that some of the staffs favorites from back home are part of the menu! Having been to Oslo before, and Sweden multiple times, this place has some authentic Scandinavian cuisine. If the food isn't enough, for the cost of a single table-service meal on Disney's dining plan, you get to meet 4 princesses!!!

Yelp
Ate at Akershus Friday night. We were so excited to hear they opened back up as we have been eating here for probably 20 years, long before it became a princess dinner and were disappointed it has been closed for so long. Unfortunately the food was disappointing. The restaurant has changed its menu several times over the years but at this point, we probably won't go back. We have dined here since the days of mackerel, herring, the koldtboard and many other authentic Norwegian foods. As Florida residents, Norway was our go-to when at Disney. Yesterday's meal was okay (salad, salmon, green beans and mashed potatoes were tasty) but reminded me of eating at Ikea for $7, not a $63 per person Norweigan specialty restaurant. It's very disappointing that this new menu has moved away from the unique, authentic destination it once was and now serves mediocre food in the name of character dining. People are really missing out on the amazing experience it once was. The restaurant does offer character dining, but you get about 90 seconds of back to back visits to your table by the five princesses at the beginning of your meal and that's it. We didn't necessarily need more but the parade they used to do was super cute as well as the meet and greet in the special room upon arrival. You get a monologue and an offer to take a portrait. It would be nice if there was a question they each asked to provide some engagement. Maybe Belle could ask what their favorite book or something like that. Princess Aurora had a southern accent Friday night which was a little confusing to my kids. The service was absolutely excellent. Mons was our server along with another gentleman whose name I forgot. They were attentive, efficient, super friendly and provided great Norweigan hospitality. We enjoyed our conversations with them and found it striking that they genuinely seemed to enjoy their job and serving their tables. We felt very well appreciated and if I had a restaurant would absolutely try to hire them.

Yelp
Akershus is located in the Norway section of Epcot. We were able to check in for our reservation. Then we had to wait for our group to be called before we were allowed to enter the restaurant. When they called our name, we had the opportunity to take a picture with Princess Belle. We had to wait another 10 minutes for our table to be ready. For the appetizer, our server informed us that we were able to go to the buffet tables. All of the princess were in our room, so we had to wait a bit before we were able to leave the table to grab appetizers. The buffet table had salads, cheese, bread, etc. Our entree came out fairly quick. I got the sampler dish, which allowed me to try 3 different items. I really loved the meatball dish. For dessert, our table was 2 platters with 3 different desserts. My favorite was the chocolate one. Overall, the service here is amazing. You get to meet 4 different princesses (Cinderella, Snow White, Aurora, and Ariel). The food is great, too.

Yelp
Akershus has been on my must-try list for years. I grew up obsessed with Disney Princesses. Akershus is one credit on the Disney dining plan (Cinderella's Royal Table in Magic Kingdom is 2 credits) so it's a great value. We had an 8:15 AM reservation in the Norway pavilion at Epcot, which got us into the park before opening and set us up perfectly for a minimal line at Frozen Ever After. We saw Belle, Ariel, Aurora (in the pink dress), Snow White and Cinderella. The food was partial buffet and partial family style. At the buffet was some fresh fruit, as well as traditional Scandinavian meats and cheeses. There were also some pastries and the quintessential Mickey waffles. We also had eggs, a potato cheese "pie" and bacon and sausage brought to the table. I didn't try the Scandinavian meats and cheeses, but the fruit was amazing. It's hard to mess up fresh fruit at Disney. I had a chocolate chip muffin, a blueberry coffee cake, and a Mickey waffle, all of which tasted like it was freshly served instead of sitting out at the buffet. I loved the eggs and sausage (I'm not a big bacon eater) but the potato cheese pie was absolutely my favorite. I had a second serving of that while waiting for the princesses to come through. The character interaction at Akershus was phenomenal. Each princess spent a good amount of time at each table. Every so often they would take the little kids at the meal into the middle of the restaurant for a princess parade which was adorable to watch. I'm so happy we got this last-minute reservation. We were out of the restaurant just about 9:15 and only had a 15 minute standby wait for Frozen Ever After.

Yelp
My family and I enjoyed the character dining dinner experience here. I was hesitant about making this reservation at first as I had never eaten Norwegian food before. We had a dining reservation at about 8:15 pm. We had to wait a little while to be seated. When we entered the daughter got to meet Belle, and even had her picture taken by the photopass photographer. We were then seated. The appetizer consisted of typical Norwegian food and was served as a buffet. I tried a few things. Everything was good. As an entree I ordered the Viking mixed grill and I was pleasantly surprised I enjoyed everything, especially the salmon & meatballs. My husband and daughter both enjoyed the meatballs. Dessert was also very good a dessert trio was served, and I was provided with an allergen friendly raspberry sorbet. I'd definitely dine here again next time I find myself at Epcot.

Yelp
If you're willing to pay for small kids to solely see the princesses, then by all means, do it. They come by your table, talk and take photos with you. There's an assortment.. we saw 5 of them. At the end, they'll give the child a postcard that's "signed" by all the princesses. Food though.. not ideal for kids. Meatballs, salmon, green beans, Mac n cheese, chicken and dumplings.. my two kids were not fans. The desserts.. a piece of chocolate cake and some rice pudding thing.. meh. Not that great. I'd rather have a Mickey ice cream. In total, for two kids and two adults (and two alcoholic beverages), our total was $257 before tip. Personally, I wouldn't do it again.

Yelp
This was our first character meal on our trip. We had to do a Princess one since my 5 year old niece was with us, we've done Cinderella's Royal Table before, so decided to try Akershus. Am I glad we did! Niece got to meet Belle, then Aurora, Snow White, Cinderella and Ariel came by the table. There was also a fun parade with the children and the Princesses. Food was wonderful! The appetizer bar had a nice selection of cheeses, meats and salads. For dinner, 2 of us had the Viking Mixed Grill - Tasting portions of our Fillet of Salmon with Ragoût of White Beans, Norwegian Meatballs with Mashed Potatoes and Lingonberry Sauce, and Grilled Vossakorv Sausage and Braised Red Cabbage. I had the Raspeballer - Scandinavian Potato Dumpling - Handcrafted Dumplings with Zucchini, Leeks, Peas, and Mushrooms served in a Coconut-Curry Sauce. All was delicious! The only complaint was the sausage texture was a bit strange, but otherwise, we loved all the food!

Yelp
A great opportunity to meet the princesses. The food was served family style and had a decent amount of choices. The waitstaff was very pleasant and accommodating

Yelp
Akershus is an absolute favorite of mine! There has never been a Disney trip without a stop here for lunch or dinner. There is always somthing magical about being in a castle and meeting the princesses. My favorite is the Tradisjonell Kjøttkake which is their Norwegian Meatballs served with Mashed Potatoes, Seasonal Vegetables, and Lingonberry Sauce. It is delicious! This restaurant is a bit expensive at around $62 an for lunch and dinner, but it is definitely worth it!
