I love the chicken terriyaki lunch special. The sushi is also incredible! Generous partition of food and friendly staff!

Not enough soy sauce in the container - not even enough for one roll. They also didn't provide a spoon for the miso soup. Ordered the 3-roll lunch special on GrubHub. Glad they followed the note to not add wasabi though. I would order again!

This is surprisingly affordable and fresh sushi. I should say we ordered vegan dishes for all eight of us, so I cannot comment on the sashimi or other sushi that there are other mixed reviews on. We enjoy the miso, avocado cucumber and sweet potato tempura rolls. The food was delivered quickly too! If you have a big family to feed and want to have sushi, this is a great option for vegans/vegetarians.

I ordered takeout, and you could tell the soy sauce is cheap it had a weird taste to it. The salmon avocado was decent but the spicy tuna had a fishy taste to it. I couldn’t even finish it for the fear that I would get sick.

Very good lunch specials for the price. Place gets busy during this time, noticed that a lot of take out orders were slamming the 3 sushi chefs but they seemed to be handling it we. Still got my lunch special, 3 Maki rolls, relatively quick. Very tasty and satisfying.

The sushi is very good and the service is fast and friendly. It is packed inside. The other dishes like chicken and white rice are also good. The sushi rolls and miso soup are very good and better than nearby places especially for the price. The rolls are better than Whole Foods and about the same price.

Went to Akimoto Sushi with 4 friends and the 5 of us could barely fit into the restuarant. It is scarce on space, almost claustrophobic, so don't plan on staying too long. The food was pretty good. We got the lunch Salmon and Chicken Teriyaki bento boxes, crab salad, spicy crunchy shrimp rolls, tuna sushi, miso soup, salad, and green tea. 🍣 The establishment seems to be family owned as the waiters were two young boys, both between the ages of 11-15. We paid about $80 to feed 5 people which is a bargain in my book. All in all, it's a no frill Sushi spot. The food is good, the portions are decent and the prices are extremely affordable. Do not expect stellar service but do expect to leave quite satiated with change to spare.

Dinner time is sushi time for me so next I tried this sushi place on church st. In Manhattan and found this ordinary place has some extraordinary creations on their menu which was yum! Decor and ambiance of this place does not impress you but my order made up for everything else. Good food👍, must try if you are on a budget in NYC!!

I buy from here frequently. Food is ready quickly. If you do uber pick up - it's ready within 5-10 minutes. Located a few blocks away from the chamber street station. The staff is very nice and always greets you so kindly. Inside is small - but during lunch time it's always packed. The bento boxes are also good - if you need something quick - try this spot out. Can't beat the price for lower manhattan.

I love this small spot located in lower Manhattan near many historical landmarks. I appreciate the quick service I've received when we I've ordered which includes ordering via the Yelp app and also over the phone. In addition to being quick, they are also pretty friendly and to the point. Lastly, the sushi and miso soup tastes authentic and is prepared on site at truly affordable rates. I think this has become my new go to spot for sushi.

A few friends and I ordered pickup from this place, but it started raining, so we ended up eating there. It turned out to be a great decision the food was amazing and super fresh. The waiter was really cool and let us stay past 11:30pm, even though they had closed half an hour earlier. The cozy late night vibe made the whole experience even better. Of course we gave them a big fat 50 dollar tip too.

Shrimp tempura was soggy and chewy- almost as if the coating was pancake batter. Miso soup and Naruto roll were both good.

The sushi and miso soup were really sweet which made it very interesting to eat. I didn't hate it, but I don't think it should have been that sweet. It was a letdown for me personally.

I ordered take out from here two times this week and was pleased with my order. The first day I got the dinner bento box special and a California roll. I felt that the dinner bento box special was a great deal, you get to select two protein options so I selected teriyaki shrimp for both but they had chicken as well, you get rice, one haru maki which is like a spring roll, three pieces of gyoza, small seaweed salad and a miso soup all for $22! Like I said, I felt that this was a good deal as there was a ton of food included. Everything was pretty good. I got fried rice instead of white rice, which is an extra charge. It was lacking in flavor but it wasn't bad, just needed more soy sauce. The shrimp was good as well, they were small but that was fine. Next, I ate my California roll which was very good. However, there was only six pieces and it cost $7 which I felt was very overpriced especially for a basic California roll. I'm used to California rolls having eight pieces, like I said this only had six so each piece was over a dollar each which felt ridiculous. The second day I grabbed lunch from here I did the three sushi roll special with one California roll and two shrimp tempura rolls. The California was good again, six pieces like before. The avocado in the rolls was very delicious and creamy. The shrimp tempura rolls were okay. Sometimes restaurants put two small slices of shrimp tempura in each piece, but this one only had one slice in each. I'd probably skip the shrimp tempura rolls next time. This lunch special also comes with a ginger dressing salad which was good. I got a side of shumai which had six pieces and similar to the Cali roll it cost $7 which was overpriced to me. On my second day ordering I did pick up, the first time I ordered delivery, so I got to see the actual restaurant. It's a small place with a few tables, and it was very warm in there as it's currently July. My only complaint is that both days I noticed that the chopsticks provided were very cheap, when you break them in half to use them, there were many frayed wood pieces. Overall, I think I will get take out from here again. The reviews on seamless are very good so I'm struck by the yelp reviews being so low. I will proceed with caution!i

I got the cooked maki rolls and soup special -- pretty excellent shrimp avocado rolls. Not bad lunch special for the neighborhood. Comforting and filling. The soup was hot and satisfying.

Always fast and delicious! Been ordering from Akimoto for years, including party trays for unexpected guests at times. Have never had bad experience.

I get take out from here all the time (grubhub/seamless always has great deals, and they deliver v fast and are open late as well). I love getting their salmon lover combo, i think it's quite a bit of food for your buck, and I always find the sushi decently fresh for what it is. I've been ordering a la carte and getting their sashimi/sushi pieces and (see below) everything is good quality, and they add along a fried shrimp head which i always love. they also have *so* many things on their menu. I've gotten the hamachi kama, agedashi tofu, and tuna tartare as well and I find them all well cooked and pretty good.

We just moved in to a new office in the area and found this little spot right around the corner. I've been having their roll combo lunch specials maybe once a week (I'm addicted) and they never disappoint! I've never had to wait for my order when I call to pick up, and everything is fresh. My most recent order, I got a tuna roll. And look at this tuna! It's more like toro, and it was so good! $17 with tax and tip.

I'm so confused about the low rating. So I'm putting 5 to give them a boost! Always fresh fish, quick delivery. Love their special rolls, and the sushi pieces. Their cooked food is nothing special but that's not why I order from here. If you want a quick. Fresh, and unassuming fish delivery, this is it. Great service/sweet delivery man.

Not sure why the low rating but this is a very solid neighborhood takeout sushi spot. It's no omakase, but the fish has always been fresh (to me) and yummy. The salmon lover's special gets me every time!

This is my favorite Tribeca sushi spot. I don't get the low ratings but I usually come in for lunch in the afternoon. All I can say is FRESH they have a lot of deliveries which makes your time there longer just to get your plate. Once you have your food it's amazing. All worth while. At the end of your meal they give you an orange which is quite nice.

$15 is overpaying for this kind of an experience. The rolls are not too good, they all have that bland sour taste with rice that is not too sticky. As the old saying goes, you get a lot of meh, which is never a good thing. That does not bode well with the rest of the menu. I am not a huge sushi eater, but I know good sushi when I eat it and this joint does not deliver the goods. The side salad you get is much of the same at any sushi bar, iceberg lettuce with peanut sauce. The sauce is deep, but the iceberg lettuce does not do much to help the pallet. Again, I compare iceberg lettuce to eating water, as that is pretty much what it is, empty calories. Not recommended.

Honestly not too sure why Akimoto's Yelp rating is so low. Picked up dinner here on a weeknight and was quite satisfied with my meal. My favorites were the Spicy Crunchy Tuna and Ikura Maki rolls! The flavors weren't out of this world and the sushi rolls were a bit on the small side, but I'll definitely be returning for a relatively inexpensive sushi fix any night of the week.

This spot was not the best and hospitality was awful we walked in asking for the lunch special the cashier was not pleasant. She rushed us to order and then once the order was completed she threw the order on the table. I mean really? I came in here to support the small businesses on Church Street since covid they have suffered massively it must have been my mistake then they probably didn't want business. Don't go here the California roll wasn't worth the $11.45. never

I ordered here for delivery last night and the order was quick and on time. Like spot on on time. Real friendly delivery guy too. I had a late night dinner and was glad they're open late an blue to deliver at night. I ordered the salmon lovers sushi, 1 salmon sashimi, and the tuna/salmon/eel combo with miso soup and the salad. I don't have a photo of the combo because I basically scarfed it down. It was really good and tasted fresh. I'm a huge sushi and seafood lover. I had the salmon lovers the next day purposely saved it for the next day and it was still fresh! Each of these are filling

We've ordered delivery from Akimoto sushi 3 out of 4 evenings here in NYC - a lifesaver after a long flight and cab from JFK. The sushi is fresh, and they are fast and reasonable. I've eaten here enough times to say that they are good. I totally don't get why they are getting less than 4 stars.

Cutest little restaurant. I usually order take out, the crunchy spicy tuna roll is my jam and I get it every time, the miso carrot dressing on the salad is delicious and I always love the miso soup. Its not a fancy pants place and the pricing is very reasonable, kind quick service NYC style:) Been coming here for years so glad this business survived covid !

Fire your delivery guy. I love the food honestly and have ordered it 300 times in the last 2 years off of Seamless. This guy always gives me attitude. Today he muttered that I came down too slowly and that I took "30 minutes". I got the notification at 5:47 and was downstairs by 5:51. I work on the 80th floor, what do you want from me? By the way this is the 4th or 5th time he's harassed me about being too slow to come down. I think there's another delivery guy who is pretty nice but this one should be fired.

I just had this for dinner and it was a good deal for seamless. I got gyoza, a california roll, and a spicy crunchy roll. I thought the gyoza was 5/5, california was 4/5, and spicy crunchy roll was 3/5. I got a good amount of food and it was pretty tasty. Satisfied with my experience.

Sushi is decent here. I ordered spicy tuna roll, spicy salmon roll and the shrimp tempura jumbo roll. The quality definitely wasn't as good. The rolls looked messy and didn't taste as fresh as I would've liked. The jumbo shrimp roll was made with 2 pieces of shrimp tempura but there was a lot of batter surrounding it and it didn't hold together very well. Definitely better to just get some better quality sushi elsewhere.

Currently eating my yellowtail scallion & salmon avocado roll. Why is the rice is hot... Sashimi and hot rice does not go hand in hand... Unfortunately, there's not many good places for sushi in Tribeca.

Delicious and quiet sushi place. The chamber roll is incredible :) It was quiet on a Saturday night, but don't be deterred by that. The food is excellent quality and the wait staff are friendly.

This food was so gross. I made a pretty straight forward order via Uber eats and was given 3 sushi rolls where half the pieces had grey fish, and chicken fried rice that had hot soggy cabbage/ lettuce in it. Literally can't finish the food.

This place does overcharge from infu Al prices so please check your receipts from a 11.50 receipt they charged 13.00 indicating that it's taxes which if we do the math is incorrect . Shake on them

I found a piece of HARD PLASTIC in my sushi. DO NOT order from here!! I used to order all the time from here but yesterday was the last straw for me. I ordered through seamless and it took well over an hour. THEN when I finally got my order I bit into one of my rolls (spicy salmon I think but it could have been the regular tuna roll, I wasn't paying attention to what piece I was eating). I call into seamless and they tell me that they won't give me a refund because the restaurant refused to give me my money back. After over half an hour on the phone I was eventually given some of my money back, but the whole situation was absolutely ridiculous.

Food was great! Got some classic vegan options, can't go wrong with that. Love the speedy service too. Servers were quick to dash out my food. Place has low lighting but it sets the mood. Overall, great place!

The worst do not Ofer! Paid $4 for red bean ice-cream that has ice all over it and is such a tiny portion. Also ordered the udon chicken soup the noodles were so soggy they weren't even edible. Save your money. Dumpster food tastes better!

I have only ever ordered takeout, and every time it's fantastic. I have been looking for a good to go teriyaki chicken bento box in the city for years and this went above and beyond. A little more expensive than I was hoping (21) but you get SO MUCH. Ever since stumbling upon it, I can't stop ordering the bento box!

Picked up dinner here this evening and was appalled by how rude the staff and owners were. Don't give them business. They are also very overpriced for what you get...quantity and quality. If you're going to spend, you're better off going down the street to Sushi of Gari for amazing quality and first class service.

Hit or miss. This place used to be good. My sashimi salmon pieces still had the bones in it. Out of my sashimi entree, three salmon pieces had bones in them. Not acceptable in any capacity. This is dangerous! Eat at your own risk

A friend and I were really hungry and it was about 9 pm on a weekday, so we decided to try this place knowing fully well that delivery sushi is usually a tossup in terms of quality. We split a sushi platter for 2 and not only was delivery speedy, the fish was incredibly fresh and selection was great (tuna, yellowtail, salmon nigiri, etc.) If you're at home craving sushi but don't want to drag yourself to a restaurant, this place will definitely hit the spot.

I ordered spicy crunchy shrimp roll asked them to add avocado and cream cheese. Some rolls did not have shrimp very thing and they just threw random pieces of avocado on top. I paid extra to add avocado and cream cheese and the rolls were super thin and made poorly. For the price you pay here it's not worth it. I've been to so many sushi restaurants that provide quality and this place was very disappointing.

If I can give a negative black start I will. These place is a disgrace, you order different type of sushi and they just decided to mix all of them in one container...any respectful sushi place will never put their sushi all squeezed with many other orders unless you order a platter of course. If it is a platter well they put in a much bigger and better container. The manager is as rude as you can imagine, she is screaming on the phone...her attitude shows that they do a mediocre sushi, the customer service is zero.....are they really truly making sushi or just selling you anything..as I said ...any responsible and respectable sushi place will present their food properly.. the package they sold put all squeezed together inside..looks like your supermarket sushi that cost 9$....this location sells sushi tiny as a quarters all squeezed inside for 16$ . I hope nobody order or goes to this place...I will not purchase anything from them. I forgot to mention..I wanted my money back so they can come and retrieve what they sent...and they didn't wanted that option... My family did not eat that meal..it went to the trash...you cannot expect people who was allergies get their sushi from the same container.. They never gave us the money back, they never came to pick up their food either...she never pick up the phone..be aware of her screaming voice, she seems to be always mad ..or maybe they always make a mistake with orders and dont want to recognize their faults.

I used to order frequently here, but today is the last time. I ordered 2 avocado rolls and a miso soup; the avocados were not ripe at all. The rolls were like biting into an apple. Then the miso was a disgrace, the tofu was spoiled/fermented, which I posted a picture. It was probably the grossest experience that I've had in a very long time. Even though it's cheap, you're better off with a satisfied meal after dumpster diving at the nearby supermarket.

Definitely didn't expect the size of the lunch special that I received, but was definitely very satisfied with my order. I ordered the lunch special with two entrees and you'll receive more than enough food. The size of the salmon terriyaki was bigger than most regular dinner entrees. The food was good and they delivered the food in the estimated time per seamless. For a quick japanese food option, this is the place to go. It's definitely my new delivery place.

Just had the squid shashimi and it was so good, really fresh. The plum wine hits the spot

The delivery guy seriously had the nerve to ask for another doller to his tip!.. are friggin kidding Me???? First off they are extremely rude! Have 0 costumer service skills, and then i hand him $4 doller tip for a 2 block commute and then had the nerve to ask for another doller. On top of that he waited for me to come out assuming i was gonna give him another doller. I'll never order from here again.

Ehhhh this place use to be so good when I worked in TriBeCa. What happened guys? I got my Sushi and was poorly impressed with the quality of the tuna. If you are looking for a cheap sushi spot and don't want to throw down huge dollars, I'd say try here. But who wants poor quality fish? I'd say skip this spot. There's other sushi restaurant in the city where you don't have to throw down huge dollars and the quality is up to par. As for, Akimoto. Man, what a disappointment.

I have only eaten takeout from Akimoto (~5 times), but their sushi is incredible and it can be delivered around the neighborhood promptly. I have both never eaten in, or seen anyone in there, but they pump out high-quality, delicious product. This is one of the only places that delivers that has a Naruto Roll (no rice, wrapped in cucumber), which my self-proclaimed "basic" fiancé loves! Ignore the other reviews, and go wild here.

Usually have a good experience here, but was really disappointed with my meal today. I ordered sushi with brown rice, they gave me sushi that was not fresh and the brown rice is really just white rice painted with something to make it look brown. I politely told the server it wasn't brown rice and she insisted it was, even though it obviously wasn't. It's 50cents extra per roll for brown rice, which would've been okay if I actually got what I ordered.

Do not order from this place! I ordered the two roll combo lunch special and the salmon tasted awful. I think it was seating outside for hours or God knows how many days. Delivery guy was rude and did not follow simple instructions to call the apt (IN AN ELEVATOR BUILDING with the intercom right outside) He instead called my cell phone screaming and telling me to go outside. I left a baby in the apt to run outside and get my food. I also tipped 18% on seamless. Too bad because if I was to tip in cash I would have gave him nothing. Never ordering again from this place.

My go to sushi spot. I usually order pretty simple rolls like salmon avocado and tuna avocado. The fish is always fresh and plentiful. I love that they use a thin layer of rice so you can really taste the fish. They can make any roll a naruto roll (wrapped in cucumber strips - no rice or seaweed) so be sure to try it out!

Just bad, really bad. Everything was old, from the rice, to the wasabi. The spicy tuna roll was gooey and had no flavor like it was sitting out all night. Yellow tail wasn't fresh at all and the spicy shrimp was chewy.

Ordered the 3 roll lunch combo and tempura cheesecake. The sushi rolls were average and I noticed they gave me 1 less shrimp tempura piece. The tempura cheesecake was the worst cheesecake I've ever had-it tasted like Entenmann's cheesecake with soggy dough wrapped around it, and it was overly sweet. Sometimes, I wonder why I order from places like this.

Gotta show this place some more love. I've been frequenting this place a lot and it's just plain amazing. Whenever I do pick up, the workers are all nice. It's always been empty inside, so I guess they do the majority of their business in deliveries. Yeah, their delivery can be a smidge late half the time. But their sushi is always FRESH and never tastes fishy. This is what sushi is supposed to be: melt in your mouth kind of stuff. Prices are perfect. I just really love this place. Akimoto, don't change. You're great.
