Akino - Review - Flushing - New York - The Infatuation

"Akino, an Elmhurstall-you-can-eat sushispot, has a second location in Flushing. The deal is the same at both locations: weekdays are $26 for lunch and $41 for dinner, and weekends are $43 all day." - Will Hartman

My wife and I had a very fun time on Halloween at Akino. The atmosphere inside was bright and modern. The staff were all pleasant and very attentive. Enjoyed everything we ordered. The sashimi was cut very uniformly and was delicious. The salmon especially so. Could have done without the sushi pizza and the dragon balls were much larger than expected but flavor was great. I do think the rolls could use a bit more rice to balance them out. Would definitely go back when I'm in the area. I’d give it a 4.5 but ill round up to a 5 as we did thoroughly enjoy the dinner.

Came here for lunch but decided to go for the dinner menu to order the sushi bar appetizers. For 46$ before tax and tip, there is a pretty extensive menu both kitchen and sushi. I enjoyed all the tatakis, sushi bombs and yellowtail jalapeño. The special rolls were packed with fish. They do NOT skimp out, I will say this is probably the only time I wish they put a little more rice. For some rolls, like the Akino roll that has mayo and a bunch of other sauces, it felt like there was nothing to soak up the sauce. It was a mouthful of fish and flavor with nothing to balance it out. Usually AYCE places put more rice and less fish so I do appreciate that this place is honest about that. Faves were the yellowtail jalapeño and the tuna sushi bomb. Service was great and they were super attentive in clearing plates and taking orders. The ambience was minimalistic and clean. The food came out at a decent pace. They have a slight discount if you pay with cash so perhaps a good idea if you’re going with a big group. Overall, good quality and options. It’s one of the better AYCE in my opinion.

I didn’t find anything particularly amazing, but nothing bad either. For the sushi, I felt they tried their best to make the rice portions smaller, which was a nice touch. Also, the avocados I had that day were very fresh, which is a big plus for anyone who loves avocados. The overall environment has a fresh Japanese style, and it feels quite comfortable.

I’ve been a big fan of Akino since their first location opened, and I was so excited to check out their new spot — it did not disappoint! The new location is just as amazing as the original. The quality of the sushi, the freshness of the fish, and the variety on the AYCE menu are top-notch. Everything came out beautifully plated and delicious. The staff were super friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere felt modern, clean, and welcoming. You can really tell they put the same level of care and consistency into both restaurants. If you’re a sushi lover, Akino is easily one of the best AYCE sushi spots around. Highly recommend checking out either location — you’ll leave happy and full every time! 🍣👏

The food is pretty fresh and tasty, but the place itself is just okay and the service isn’t great. It kinda feels like a fast-food restaurant. One weird thing is that they use those small packaged wasabi. The prices are also on the higher side, and I don’t really think the quality or service matches what you pay. For the same price, you can definitely find better sushi spots. Overall, not really my top choice. 🤣🤣🤣

Amazing AYCE Sushi spot where you can practically try almost everything to your heart’s delight and still not be too overwhelmed by their vast selection of items on the menu. Everything came out extremely fast, hot, and pretty delicious. All the sushi tasted exceptionally fresh and the non-sushi items were great tasting as well. The service here was top notch in that they were all very friendly and attentive. This will definitely be one of my go-to staple spots in Flushing, can’t wait to go again!

One of the cleanest all-you-can-eat sushi spots I’ve been to (I’ve only tried about four so far, though). The sushi was decent, and the portion sizes made it easy to try a variety of items. They also had a good selection of drinks, but no desserts. Overall, a nice option if you’re looking for a clean and straightforward AYCE sushi experience.

Compare to other Ayce, 1. Quality is good for $50 - similar to $30/plate 2. Sashimi options including ikura 3. Hot foods are in small quantitiesso you don’t get full from it. 4. Rolls have barely any rice so you can eat more. So compare to others where they try to make you full with carbs, they seem to not care.
