Akino - Review - Flushing - New York - The Infatuation

"Akino, an Elmhurstall-you-can-eat sushispot, has a second location in Flushing. The deal is the same at both locations: weekdays are $26 for lunch and $41 for dinner, and weekends are $43 all day." - Will Hartman

My wife and I had a very fun time on Halloween at Akino. The atmosphere inside was bright and modern. The staff were all pleasant and very attentive. Enjoyed everything we ordered. The sashimi was cut very uniformly and was delicious. The salmon especially so. Could have done without the sushi pizza and the dragon balls were much larger than expected but flavor was great. I do think the rolls could use a bit more rice to balance them out. Would definitely go back when I'm in the area. I’d give it a 4.5 but ill round up to a 5 as we did thoroughly enjoy the dinner.

Akino just launched a new all-you-can-eat sushi spot in Flushing, and it does not disappoint. The selection is stacked — super fresh sashimi, loaded specialty rolls, and fun appetizers that keep the meal exciting from start to finish. Every plate comes out looking clean and aesthetic, with generous portions that make the AYCE totally worth it. If you’re hunting for a modern sushi spot with tons of options, the new Akino in Flushing needs to be on your list. 🍣✨

Came here for lunch but decided to go for the dinner menu to order the sushi bar appetizers. For 46$ before tax and tip, there is a pretty extensive menu both kitchen and sushi. I enjoyed all the tatakis, sushi bombs and yellowtail jalapeño. The special rolls were packed with fish. They do NOT skimp out, I will say this is probably the only time I wish they put a little more rice. For some rolls, like the Akino roll that has mayo and a bunch of other sauces, it felt like there was nothing to soak up the sauce. It was a mouthful of fish and flavor with nothing to balance it out. Usually AYCE places put more rice and less fish so I do appreciate that this place is honest about that. Faves were the yellowtail jalapeño and the tuna sushi bomb. Service was great and they were super attentive in clearing plates and taking orders. The ambience was minimalistic and clean. The food came out at a decent pace. They have a slight discount if you pay with cash so perhaps a good idea if you’re going with a big group. Overall, good quality and options. It’s one of the better AYCE in my opinion.

I finally had a chance to try Akino in Queens, and overall, it was a solid dining experience that sits comfortably above average. The sashimi was a standout particularly the yellowtail and salmon which were buttery and fresh. The staff were friendly and attentive especially when it came to refill the green tea, clear the plates; making the whole process an enjoyable experience. I'd highly recommend Akino to anyone in Queens looking for a high-quality, all-you-can-eat sushi feast.

Great food and service! The atmosphere is very warm and inviting. The manager was very nice and gave great recommendations as it was our first time here. Sashimi was very fresh, favs were definitely the white tuna and black dragon. Not a big fan of the fried oyster though. Great new addition to the neighborhood!

I was craving AYCE sushi so I decided to go for my birthday! I have to say, for all the AYCE sushi spots Ive been to in the states, this place new their assignment. The food quality was pretty good. The sashimi quality was pretty good as well. I felt like I wasnt walking into a typical chinese owned sushi restaurant. The brand identity was present and clear. The service was welcoming, catering to assigned tables. One suggestion for the restaurant is, we went in as a big group and obviously we ordered a lot and received a lot, it would be helpful to see what has been served on the table so we dont double order while waiting. Certain items came as they were ready but as it was a busy table, it was confusing to figure out what was receiced or still preparing. Ordering digitally by a pad did help try figure out the order process. The place can accommodate big groups. It was thanksgiving night and pretty packed for sure. Would suggest to reserve on weekends or holidays. They take waiting list over the phone as well. Overall: 8.5/10 Would most certainly visit again, would suggest this spot to others. Would suggest to try the sashimi. Worth the money? Yes! Did I eat the money’s worth? Absolutely not😂

Absolutely loved this place! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was delicious and clearly made with care. The service was friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome from start to finish. The atmosphere was clean, comfortable, and perfect for a relaxed meal. Highly recommend this restaurant, and I’ll definitely be coming back!

I didn’t find anything particularly amazing, but nothing bad either. For the sushi, I felt they tried their best to make the rice portions smaller, which was a nice touch. Also, the avocados I had that day were very fresh, which is a big plus for anyone who loves avocados. The overall environment has a fresh Japanese style, and it feels quite comfortable.
