Akira Back Dubai

I had dinner last night at this lovely restaurant in the stylish W Hotel. The elevators, entrance arch, waiting area with the bar et.c. are meant to create a multi-sensory phased experience before you actually get seated at your table. The 7-course tasting menu was superb, tasty, well presented, beautiful plateware ... I had the pleasure of meeting Chef AKIRA BACK himself. Service is top notch. I met a range of their associates, from the energetic GM Sophia down to the hosts, bartenders, servers & even the polite housekeeping in the rest rooms. On the food front, the only thing that baffled me was why out of the 6 savoury courses, there was an over emphasis on seafood. An addition of poultry, game and/or vegetarian would have been nice. The DJ was energetic but the music range was too diverse. A cool place like this should identify some genres & lock that down as their brand music. The table lamp, its placement & the luminescence doesn't do justice to the beautiful plating. I had to keep putting the lamp to the plate to appreciate the chefs' efforts.

It’s such a great restaurant — I’ve been living in Dubai for 5 years and I can’t believe I didn’t know it before! Located on The Palm, it offers an incredible view over the sea and both Atlantis hotels (the new one and the original). It’s an Asian restaurant with open kitchens, and what really stands out is the sound system — it’s absolutely perfect. You can actually have a conversation while enjoying great music, which is quite rare in Dubai! The food truly deserves its Michelin recognition; everything is exceptional. And on Monday nights, they have a Ladies Night for AED 250, including two starters, one main course, and one dessert all of amazing quality. Definitely a spot worth trying!

I can write an essay about how amazing this place is! Yes, the restaurant continues to impress us with its spectacular menu for food and drinks. Japanese cuisines curated to its finest version. My son claims that this place offers the best Japanese food in the world :-) Vegetarians worry not, as they have an exclusive menu for you too! The must tries are tuna pizza, sake sake rolls, spider rolls (veg) and tofu dishes. Other items are also delicious. I had ordered the special tequila drink on the menu. The staff from the bar named Viraaj specially visited our table to explain the two day process of preparations that go into making the base of the drink. Highly intriguing! Also, a special mention of Ave who assisted us with our orders. She understood our requirements and suggested the best in the menu. Special shout out to the Chefs who offer such amazing dishes with superior quality and impressive presentation. Will be an honour to meet the great man, Chef Back one day, to thank him personally for creating such a delightful collection of food items for us :-)

The service is impeccable — attentive, professional, and friendly. Every dish is beautifully presented and full of flavor, especially the signature tuna pizza and black cod. It’s the perfect place for a chic dinner, whether with friends or for a romantic evening. Highly recommended!

I had a great time at Akira Back Japanese restaurant. The place is beautiful, with a lovely indoor area and a nice outdoor terrace where we sat. The creamy spinach and salmon were delicious! It was busy on Saturday evening and had a great atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and gave excellent service. I would love definitely recommend.

First time at Akira Back Dubai and it feels like stepping into a rooftop retreat with one of the best views of Palm Jumeirah. The design is modern and stylish which makes the whole place special from the start. The menu is Japanese with Korean influences and every plate feels bold and creative. If you are not sure what to order the miso black cod is the dish that really stands out. We took photos and videos to show the view and the atmosphere. Take a look before you visit.

An unforgettable culinary experience! From the moment we arrived at Akira Back, located in the luxurious W The Palm hotel, we were warmly welcomed by name, a personalized touch that set the tone for exceptional service. The entrance takes you through a stylish lounge bar, where you can watch the bartender craft refined cocktails. The breathtaking view of the Palm Jumeirah is simply stunning, especially from the beautifully designed terrace. The staff is extremely attentive, professional, and genuinely responsive to our preferences. A particularly clever detail: due to the dim lighting, which adds to the ambiance but makes reading the menu a bit tricky, we were provided with small clip-on reading lights — a thoughtful and elegant solution. The dishes are true works of art, both visually stunning and bursting with flavor. The fusion of Japanese and Korean cuisine is masterfully executed. You can even watch the chef at work in the open kitchen, adding a dynamic and engaging element to the experience. There are also two private dining rooms available for a more intimate setting. I highly recommend Akira Back to all lovers of fine dining and unique culinary experiences. I will definitely be coming back.
