"This recent addition to the area serves traditional Japanese fare including ramen, udon, and buckwheat soba noodles. Locals love the okonomiyaki, a shrimp and bacon-laced pancake made with rice flour, eggs, and cabbage, and topped with a cream sauce." - Rebecca Gale

Five Stars. Great ramen. I tried the Okonomiyaki as an appetizer. It was good. The Akira Ramen is awesome, love the sliced pork. If you like spicy try the Volcano 🌋 Akira Ramen. The menu has sushi too. Parking directly in front of the restaurant is limited so you may have to walk a little bit once you find a place to park. If it COLD out try to get a seat that is not next to the front entrance.

PHENOMENAL!!! The best ramen I have had in a long time. Akira Volcano ramen was soooo good, with a nice balance of spicy and tonkatsu flavor. All the ingredients were perfectly done! You will not be disappointed! Sushi rolls were also on point!

So far, this is the best ramen place we've tried around the area! The ramen is tasty, we only added some salt according to our preference. The sushi are quite small in sizes but they're also good. And the gyoza taste amazing too. The place is always packed with costumers, atleast when we got there at 5:30PM.

Best ramen in DC ! The Akira ramen is a must ! So good with a lot of toppings and a delicious pork broth. The chachu buns are also really good and the meat is so tender. The chicken teriyaki arrived still boiling hot that gave it a really good smoked flavor. They also have great deals for the lunch. Can’t wait to come back and try others dishes !!

A nice and cozy place to have hot ramen during cold weather. The place is quit clean and smells great. I highly suggest Akira Volcano Ramen if you are into spicy foods.

The smallest rolls I've ever seen. It was a nice night, so I walked a little over a mile from my hotel to get some sushi. I asked if they'd included soy sauce with the tuna and salmon rolls. I should have checked. How much do we think they pay for the little soy sauce packets? I had to negotiate for two when I 🚶‍♂️ walked back. On the bright side, I got a little over four miles of walking. Now I'm hungry again.

I recommend the gyoza but not the ramen. The broth was too oily for my liking (you can see all of the excess oil in the photo). On the other hand, the gyoza were extremely delicious and flavorful.

Akira's a simple girl; she's good with the basics although she doesn't get too fancy. And when she's good, she's *great*. My go to is the Shrimp Tempura Ramen with extra Shrimp Tempura because life is too short to scrimp on shrimp. But just the other day I tried their Chashu Bun and the Okonomiyaki (Scallion Pancake) and WOW. I would 100% do that again. And again. And again... My partner got the Yellowtail Belly Bowl with cold udon and was not a fan. I tried to warn him like I'm warning you. Stick with the basics and you'll have a delicious time!
