The 25 Best Restaurants In Barcelona - Barcelona - The Infatuation

"Akiro is a triple threat: great food, cool, minimalist design, and flawless service. It calls itself a Nikkei handroll bar, but it also holds its own as a sushi-ya, or sushi counter restaurant. Top Nikkei choices include the ebi furai, or tempura-battered shrimp and chili-garlic mayo, or the acevichado filled with chunks of tender seabass in spicy ají amarillo vinegar. But if you’re a strict Japanese purist, the buttery-smooth toro sashimi and the seared tuna nigiri would hold their own in Tokyo." - isabelle kliger

GO HERE! Worth any wait. Absolutely the best sushi I've ever eaten in my life! Incredible. The tempura de langosti is perfect. We ordered 2. Every single dish was made with attention to detail and nailed the flavors. I couldn't be more impressed. Diego and Mike did a wonderful job as server and chef.

The ambiance and service at Akiro were absolutely excellent, creating a refined yet welcoming dining experience. The food was overall very delicious and beautifully presented. Prices are definitely on the higher side, but the quality of ingredients and attention to detail stand out. If I could suggest a couple of small adjustments: the chocolate pairing with eel didn’t really work for me, and the background music could be just a touch lower to make the atmosphere even more comfortable.

I can eat sushi 🍣 every day but obviously I don't. There are a lot of sushi restaurants in Barcelona and Akiro is one the best place to enjoy wide selections. Sitting at the bar and watching the chefs made each piece with outstanding ingredients and great care. Good thing I am flying home tomorrow... went back to Akiro for late lunch today. The sashimi plate was amazing and the 3 nigiris were outstanding. Chef A is a wonderful chef... he worked with me and made recommendation based on my taste preference.

It is so rare to find something totally new. Well to be fair, your favorite flavors but combined like you´ve never had them before. I was in search of fantastic sushi in Barcelona and, after a few missteps, finally found it in Akiro. This was not traditional by any means, but it was wonderful and surprising. Eel with chocolate as one example. Such a delightful meal.

Everything was amazing, a hidden gem in Barcelona. The best sushi fusion I have ever tried. The service was nice and our Chefs Pedro and Sumal were very good. The food was very tasty and high quality. If you are a sushi lover you must visit this place. :)

This is some of the best sushi i’ve ever had. Pablo was the best when it came to explaining the dishes & recommending what we need to eat first. He made them all to perfection. Suman & Ananta made the experience even better by conversing with us. We’ll be sure to go to the Chicago location when it opens bc of the food & the barcelona staff.

Incredible Japanese spot in Barcelona! The sashimi and rolls were the best I’ve ever had — super fresh and full of flavor. Loved the open kitchen concept — Chef Pablo prepared everything right in front of me with amazing precision. Authentic, high-quality, and very welcoming staff. Can’t wait to come back!

Super sushi bar. Went for Saturday lunch and sat at Mike’s sushi counter with Diego looking after the service side. It was fantastic to see Mike prepare out meal in front of us recommending dishes and then presenting them to us. diego was super friendly and efficient too. Overall a great experience. Spent €60 a head for a lovely meal including drinks and dessert. Will definitely go back.
