What amazing experience! I love coming here the owner is so kind and humble and generous. The salmon is so buttery and basically melts in your mouth the crab salad is some of the best that I’ve had in a while it has a nice kick to it. Thank you for your generosity and kindness.

Excellent accommodating service, masterfully prepared sushi, and a wonderful atmosphere at this location. Ordered a couple rolls from their incredible selection , which is clearly described on the menu. An order of crab balls and some complimentary black bass and rice to try. All were amazing! Thank you to the kind waitress, the sushi chef, and the owner for an incredible lunch experience.

The salad with ginger dressing was fire but the sushi was ok if you like raw. I thought the yummy and red snapper one was cooked but it had raw salmon in/on it. I wish the menu stated that cause I can't do raw-- but the mango and avacado was fresh.

This is the best sushi spot in the area! My fiancé and I have been going here for years and anytime my friends and I have a craving, this is where we go! It’s a wonderful location with a great ambience and such friendly staff!! The habatchi, cooked, fried, and raw sushi are all very good! I would highly recommend not to pass this up if you’re in the Lemoyne area.

Food was made fresh and very tasty. I recommend the fried TNT rolls, I just had to get 2 more orders of it. The manager/owner was also very nice to even check on us and make sure our meal was ok. Great service.

Fantastic sushi, good portions, and really high quality fish.

Food was 4 stars out of 5 but had to wait over an hour to get 4 sushi rolls. If you ordered take out or walked in off the street to order, they had priority over dinning in. Although I did see a 3 top and a 4 top leave before us and they came in after us. Akitas knew we were unhappy so they offered free dessert which they were sold out of. Bill was $50 minus 15% which was a joke. Left unhappy and we did tip so discount was canceled out. Apologies don't make the bad experience dissappear.

This restaurant has a great variety of sushi, sashimi and hibachi. A great comfortable atmosphere and great service by Han.

Attentive service and excellent food. The nigiri was smooth and buttery, the salad fresh with great ginger dressing, and tempura veggies were tasty. Although I only had nigiri, it was well prepared and the other sushi I saw being served all looked great. I could easily have eaten myself sick on this food.

Tried their sister restaurant, Kanagawa in Mechanicsburg for lunch with my wife today. After hearing Akitas is owned by the same people and it's in Lemoyne, so a little closer to home, I brought the whole family back for dinner. Just like Kanagawa, this place is excellent and now the second good place for sushi we've finally found - after a year of trying places. For apps we had shrimp shumai dumplings and vegetable egg rolls (spring rolls). Tasty and quickly gone. With three kids and two adults, it only made sense to go for the party boat. It came with 4x soups or salads, 6x pieces of sashimi (we had 2x each tuna, salmon, and whitetail), 6x pieces of nigiri (2x each tuna, salmon, and red snapper), and 4x specialty rolls of our choice. The nigiri and sashimi disappeared first, and even my youngest ate more fish than she ever has. She usually just gets the cucumber roll, and did again tonight, but tried a lot of the fish because it was so good. The fish was all tender and delicious. We had 2x Terry Rolls (wife had one for lunch and liked it so much she got it again and talked one daughter into it also), one Queen Roll, and one Crazy Roll. All super tasty and eaten up. Finished off with one green tea ice cream and the fried cheesecake. Kids declared the ice cream the best they've had, and after reluctantly taking one bite of the cheesecake, they all tore into that as well. The only downside here is the prices are a bit higher than at Kanagawa, and some sushi with the same name at both places look like they actually have slightly different ingredients between the two restaurants. So just because you love a certain roll at one, you led better double check before ordering the same at the other. Otherwise, food was fantastic, service was great, and the restaurant was beautiful. Kids were super happy to have finally found good sushi again. Whoever owns these joints - thanks for two great sushi meals in the same day, and a happy family.

I absolutely love this place! The atmosphere is nice and comfortable and the staff are incredibly kind and lovely people who will remember your face for years. The food is AMAZING. Pricing is great too. You absolutely have to get the fried crab balls, I've never had anything like them and haven't found anything anywhere else which is sad because they're so so so good. Anytime I'm in town this place is always on the short list of food I absolutely have to get!

First time here so I ordered the Lobster Roll & a California Roll the wife ordered Chicken Teriyaki with rice The Lobster Roll was delicious Fried lobster, cucumber, avocado the California Roll (Crab, Cucumber, & Avocado) Pretty quiet Sunday evening. Wait person extremely polite and very knowledgeable of the menu. Really enjoyed our first visit we'll definitely return.

My favorite sushi is the area. The volcano, terry, and Tokyo rolls are my favorites. Also enjoy getting their hibachi chicken and noodles. Food is always fresh and delicious with good service. Highly recommend

Hands down the best place for sushi in Central PA. The Kani salad is a great way to start. The Lemoyne roll never disappoints and the eel and tuna sushi are always fresh and tasty. Reservations are never needed. Come in and I promise you won't be disappointed!

Ordered 2 piece sushi, and lo mein. The lo mein I ordered with 2 less ingredients but they charged me extra for that. I was so focused on that, I didn't even notice they charged me for the spicy tuna roll when I only order a 2 piece spicy tuna. They do shady stuff there. Somewhere in small print it says that changes to menu items had an additional charge but as per the law, it wasn't clear and obvious and want listed with the specific menu item. The place used to be good but this post time the food was mediocre and the service was horrible. Went back and asked to see the menu so I could show what I orded and and what they charged since they're online menu doesn't have the different quantity options for a la carte.

Wow! What a great sushi place! They have lot of really great options to choose from, the appetizers are really good (try the shumai dumplings!) The waitstaff is always really attentive and very timely. Nice chill vibe especially for a date night or lunch with a friend. And the price isn't well worth the quality of food and service that you get! (The Akita Roll and Philly roll are some of my favorites)

Sashimi for dinner tonight in the Harrisburg area, great and friendly service at Akitas where my order was taken promptly after I was seated. My salad arrived right after and then my sashimi dinner. Speedy but not rushed. The Kani Salad was excellent, with spicy crab, cucumber and a little bit of mayo. Just a little hint of spice and a lot of flavor, it was awesome and I really wanted more. But then my plate of sashimi arrived. Twelve quite large pieces of fish including tuna and salmon, it was delicious and I enjoyed every bite. I liked Akitas. Good fish at a decent price. We found this place randomly and we were so impressed. The restaurant is decorated fabulously, it's spotless, everyone was beyond friendly and every single thing we ate was incredible. From the Miso to the Gyoza to the multiple rolls...so fresh, tons of flavor and just delicious. The mango is the best I've ever had! We will be back!

Wow! I have driven by here a thousand times. Tonight, I was so hungry for something different so I thought lets do this. I had the miso soup, spider roll, and steak habachi and it was delicious. I will now be adding them into my food rotation. Highly recommend. I am looking forward to enjoying more of their menu.

Based on my first experience, this will likely be my last. We placed a large pick up order for the office and were excited for some hibachi because we love it! The food was ready when I arrived but I wanted to add a soda. She told me to grab a can. ($1.50 ouch!) Oh well. So I asked her for a to go cup for it. She said, "To go cup?" and then I said, "Yes please". She then rung me up and told me to have a nice day. So then I said "Thank you, oh can I have a to go cup please?" and then she goes" "To go cup?" and I said "yes please, for my soda" And she said "Oh sure". Then she put forks in my bag and said "Have a nice day". So I stood there and she goes "I said, have a nice day!" I said "Well, could I have a to go cup please?" and then she got it for me. Anyway that's not why my review is 2 stars. One of us ordered chicken teryaki and one of us ordered chicken hibachi. They were both the same. And if you look at my picture it doesn't look like hibachi at all. The chicken was chewy and overcooked...definitely a dark meat variety. It was also VERY salty. Couldn't do it. The rice was boring and and there were not enough veggies. I don't know what they were trying to do here but it was not good at all. Don't see the need to return.

PARKING SUCKS and bring a sweater but I love this place! Staff is always nice! Bathrooms and tables always clean! Food is always great! I have been here with family, friends, work lunches and more! This is a great place to grab a roll or have a fill dinner!

The positive: the service was excellent. The entire staff was friendly and made we want to come back. The atmosphere and decor was nice too. What was a bit less impressive was the missing ginger for my sushi. This is the first sushi location I have been to that lacked ginger on the plate. I also ordered hibachi chicken and this is the first time I did not receive yum yum or some type of sauce on the side. In the plus side, the sweet potato sushi roll is a must try. The food was pretty good but those little extras detracted from the experience. Also, since they are BYOB, it would be nice if they offered some unique beverage, like a honey ginger tea or something else unique. Overall it is a good place but is missing a few things that would raise the experience up a notch.

Akitas in Lemoyne offers tasty Japanese Steakhouse cuisine & Sushi Bar in an easy, relaxed setting. They offer the freshly prepared taste of Hibachi-style restaurants at a substantially more reasonable cost & wait time. Additionally, a pleasant staff and clean, streamlined decor make this nearby eatery one that I enjoy with family or friends. I consistently order the small Hibachi Steak plate with fried rice that includes a vegetable medley. I have also enjoyed some of their cooked sushi.

Had dinner here on Friday night with some family. The staff was friendly and helpful. Everything we ate was fantastic! From the appetizers to the main course, everything was great and presented well. If you're looking for great sushi, you should give them a try.

I've been here several times for lunch and the sushi has always been always fresh and flavorful.

The wait was severely understaffed, dude looked like he could have used some water from how hard he was getting worked back there, no break. Took 55 minutes for food to come out, and my items wasn't even sent in the right order. full entries came out before the soup. Didnt even stay to enjoy the dine out culture enriched atmosphere. Could have really just doordash this If I wanted to wait this long

We come here occasionally for lunch. It is never too crowded. We get the chicken teriyaki, steak hibachi and sushi occasionally. Everything generally taste good. I do get a little irritated that if you get Sriracha they charge a dollar for a little bit. In general though service is always nice, not too expensive, good food and not crowded.

Akita's is absolutely my favorite restaurant in the entire world. The people who work there are so friendly and the food is absolutely phenomenal. I'm always picky with where I choose to eat raw fish due to obvious food safety concerns, but I have full trust in this place. The owner is a very caring and compassionate person and is very welcoming to everyone. Although I was just here yesterday afternoon, I can't wait to come back again next week.

I visited Harrisburg for the first time in a couple years. My friend got the intel on the best place for sushi and we went to Akita's. It's a really cute spot with an extensive sushi list. We enjoyed some sushi rolls with the Shrimp tempura being our favorite. The only disappointment was that they don't sell beer and wine. However, they allow you to bring your own! I wish I had known prior to going. I would recommend this place for people wanting sushi/Asian fusion in a laid back environment. There's nothing fancy about it, but the sushi was very good and fresh.

I love sushi and this place is closer than going to Sapporo East and more affordable than Nagoya in Lemoyne. I'm surprised we hadn't tried it before, but here we were trying it for a bday dinner in June and it was fantastic! The service was prompt and very friendly - quick with our water refills. The place had good traffic with guests and carryout orders for a mid-week evening. The menu was full of a variety of options and dinner for two options (which is what we chose). We enjoyed our platter plus some sort of fried crab appetizer (AHHHMAZING!). I'm glad that we checked this place out finally and we will definitely be back!

They auto add a 10% tip(surcharge) on takeout orders and don't mention anything about it. Seems shady and have not seen any other businesses to that. I like the sushi but that didn't sit well with me. I understand times are tough... just raise your prices 10% don't tack on a non negotiable takeout tip.

The sushi came out quickly and tasted very well. I had the fried calamari, and 4 different rolls - I was pleased with the Spicy Salmon Roll and Harrisburg Roll. Service was all right, they came just the below the right amount. Clean restaurant with good food, I will visit again and recommend to others.

Today was my first time ordering here. Takeout only due to Corona. Ordered and paid by phone. My order was on a table when I walked in. My rolls were nice and fresh. Loved the Boston roll (smoked salmon and avocado). Will definitely come back when in Lemoyne.

Overview: A menu primarily focused on a good variety of sushi at decent prices. Food: The sushi options are what you go here for, as there are very few other choices. However, they offer numerous varieties. Everything I've had has been fresh and delicious. Recommend: I really enjoy the Snow Roll, which is cooked white fish with avocado and sauce. The TNT roll is also good, but if you like spicy make sure to order at least an 8 for the sauce. Atmosphere: Love the new location! It's bright, clean, and decently sized. Service: The staff have always been friendly with quick service!

Great food and service tonight. It was fantastic to have such an attentive staff - never a dirty dish or empty bottle left on the table. Food was great from sushi (vegetarian & fish) to noodle soups. Also highly recommend the fried ice cream if you still have room.

Craving sushi on a monday is hard for me cause Sapporo isnt open...but I found this place on yelp and tried it out. I went local and got the Enola Roll. (In middle) and the Yummy Roll. Along with some salmon roe. The roe wasnt that great, little hairspray-like. Im not sure if thats how it normally is though as I was feeling adventurous and have nothing to base this off of. The yummy roll lived up to its name. Crabby mayo-like and had avocado and mango on top. Delish. Best was the Enola roll. Cream cheese, eel, avocado, and caviar on top. This was an explosion of taste! I used no wasabi, ginger, or soy on it. It was the tops!! Overall this is a great place for sushi in Lemoyne. Especially on a Monday

As far as sushi and atmosphere in the Harrisgurg area, I would give this place a big thumbs up. Evidently remodeled not too long ado. Really nice dining area and the service was exceptional. We ordered a couple of rolls and some sashimi. The rolls are very creative, with many choices. Rolls were large. They id not skimp on the fish. And they were delicious. My salmon sashimi was also very fresh, the right texture and the pieces were sliced nicely. Drove past this place many times and never gave it a shot. Happy we did! Will be back!

I usually get sushi from Akita's. I'm not sure what happened... I got the dinner combo which is what I usually get. It was the most bland sushi I've ever had in my life. I am extremely disappointed. I should've just went to wegmans.

Haven't visited since they moved to Market Street, but frequented the place at their original location off of State Street in Lemoyne. The thing to get here is the sushi, especially don't be afraid to try some of their original/specialty rolls. The Q Roll and Angel Roll are my favorites and I get them nearly every time. The owners are quiet, but friendly and generous. The hibachi menu is oridnary (as compared to other Japanese restaurants) so don't expect a big difference from others you may have tried. I like the quaintness of the place, no thrills necessary. This is probably my favorite sushi place in the Lemoyne/Camp Hill/Highland Park area.

I love the ambiance here. It's very chill and comfortable. I ordered the clover field roll, the zebra roll, and the new Paul roll. All three rolls were off of their special menu on the tables. The clover field has deep fried asparagus, cream cheese and was wrapped in soy paper instead of seaweed--very good. The zebra had fried crab, avocado, wrapped in seaweed and topped with fried eel. Very flavorful and delicious. The new Paul had spicy tuna, avocado, wrapped in seaweed and topped with whitefish and mango. Yum! The service was fast and pleasant. They don't rush you if you want to stay, chat and finish your bottle. A lovely byob sushi place. It deserves to be ranked up there with sapporo and the like.

Went here for the first time today for lunch. Sushi was excellent and had beautiful presentation! Sat at the bar and the staff was very attentive and friendly. They have gluten free soy sauce if you ask! Prices are reasonable and the rolls are pretty big. We will be back!

Surprisingly, Akitas has been at this location for 7 years and we've never stopped. Well today was our lucky day! For our monthly girlfriends lunch, we decided to eat here. The wait staff was most pleasant and the place wasn't crowded. Seating and decor was very comfortable, and the vibe was point on. We opted for the lunch special of 2 sushi rolls for $12.99 and were able to choose from a nice selection. Both of us ordered a Tony's Roll, and then I had a Tuna/Avocado roll and my girlfriend ordered a TNT Role - Level 5. I also ordered the onion soup as an appetizer. Unfortunately I cannot recommend it, as it was quite bland and non-appetizing. I spruced it up with a few blasts of low sodium soy sauce to make it palatable. All of our rolls were dynamite! Extra wasabi was served when requested. Talked to the very pleasant owner before we left, and he said they've been in business for 13 years. Definitely will be going back!

A good restaurant with tasty sushi. Fairly priced and quick service. Not too busy during lunch time. Good atmosphere.

Been all over the country and never had a Philly Roll made with ikitation crab! Also neber been anywhere where the waitress feels the need to argue when asked to swap out a menu item for one we will actually eat. what an embarrassing evening having that woman make a scene at our table.

I don't usually give 5 stars unless the establishment shows me that they have it all together, to the tiniest details and obviously, the food has to be amazing. Akitas makes the grade. Our party of four got seated right away and felt very welcomed. We started out with the calamari and spring rolls for appetizers and ordered the sushi boat. (Definitely enough for 4 people). The timing of the food delivery let you know that everything was very well orchestrated. We also shared a couple of hibachi dishes. The shrimp and scallop hibachi was very good. My wife had the chicken hibachi, (since she's not a fan of sushi). It was very flavorful. Overall, it's a great place, with great decor, great service and excellent food. A real gem of a place.

DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE BUSINESS! THEY DO NOT DESERVE IT! I went to dinner here with my father and we had a HORRIBLE experience. We were seated at the bar and waited at the very least 20 minutes and no one came to take our order. My father kindly stopped the older female worker and asked why our order had not been taken while others who arrived after us had their orders take already. She YELLED at my father "If you can't be patient, then you can leave." Keep in mind that we already waited for a while and he kindly asked a simple question, but she had to yell at him. After that we got up and left and are NEVER GOING TO RETURN.

I found VERY little to like about this place. A huge bummer because I was really excited to try it. We went there for lunch during a weekday. Hubby came along and the kids were with us. Service stunk - we waited almost 45 minutes for our food. Hubby's quick lunch break ended up taking him about 1.5 hours. So, not only did the food come late and be of little value, he also had to work an extra hour to make up for the lost time. The kids were restless and begging for food after the first 20 minutes - it made for a stressful outing. The food was over priced. The food portions were seriously tiny. The sushi was mushy and not cold enough. The miso soup was almost nothing but broth. The seaweed salad was TINY. AND, because I ordered the seaweed salad (at an outrageous price) I was not given the FREE cucumber salad. EXCUSE ME???? I get ripped off for my free salad of four slices of cucumber splashed in sweetened rice vinegar because I opted to order an ADDITIONAL salad? You guys are rip off artists!!! The "special" sushi roll we ordered for something like $7 was the size of what you get for about $4 at other places. The only thing that was edible were the dumplings - but they were small and each one cost about $1. That means it was about 50 cents for each bite that you chewed and swallowed. NOT worth it. Besides, you can buy a whole frozen bag of them at just about any Asian market for the price we paid for 5. You know you're in trouble when the food finally comes to the table and you and your husband look at each other and say in unison, "is this it?" and you want to check the item in front of you against the description in the menu because it seems impossible that they are the same thing. We ordered some type of "sushi" bowl (which we were told was like the hot bowl at Sapporo East but without the hot sauce). They lied big time. They offered to add the hot sauce. The hot sauce was hot and sweet - not a pleasant mix with raw fish. The raw fish was a meager portion of tiny little fish chunks - it looked like it was created out of the scraps left over when they make other things. The bill, for what we ordered, was OUTRAGEOUS! About 1.5 hours after we walked in, the toddlers walked away hungry, we walked way hungry, and we felt like we had been robbed. I will NEVER eat there again. They don't even get a second chance.

I hate to give one star but I really bad a bad experience at this place, like sick in the bathroom bad. First. The quality of the fish was flavorless, fatty and almost mushy. The spicy rolls were flavorless which surprised me and the nigiri I could barely eat and ultimately I as mentioned left me rather unwell. I love sushi and have had so-so sushi in the past but nothing like this, I am not sure if this was a one off for them because I have met others that eat here often but I am not sure if I am willing to give it another go. Lets hope it was a bad fish shipment in.

If you have experienced good sushi, and want to experience it again, steer clear of this place. For those that are pretty easy to please, food-wise (i.e., most of Central PA, land of the chain restaurant lovers), I can see where you'd think it was good. The sushi here is definitely subpar and overpriced. I ordered an Alaska roll (smoked salmon and cream cheese) and a spicy tuna. I have never in my sushi-eating life seen a roll with smoked salmon come out and contain cooked salmon. The cooked salmon that I wasn't expecting was dry and didn't work well with the cream cheese at all. I was expecting raw, as the menu didn't denote otherwise, and that's what you get at every other sushi restaurant that I've been to. The spicy tuna was mushy, not spicy, and poorly rolled. It didn't seem to contain any "crunch" like a normal spicy tuna, and it had no spicy sauce on top either. Total for four non-specialty rolls, edamame and hot tea was about $35.00. Service was pleasant enough, although the owner/manager was walking around in sweatpants, which I felt was a little odd and unprofessional. But, the atmosphere is fine overall. I'm in no way affiliated, but I would highly recommend Sakura on the Carlisle Pike over this place. The sushi is much fresher, rolled well, and less expensive. They also have an all-you-can-eat menu choice for only $17.00, which I basically spent at Akitas for two rolls. And, they offer a 10% military discount.

I have managed a privately-owned restaurant in the past, so I understand that many have their good days and their bad days. In my experience, Akitas has never had a bad day. They always receive me with a friendly smile, whether I am eating in or taking out. The sushi is some of the best around. Since I moved to Pennsylvania from New England, I have had a difficult time finding sushi of this quality. After reading over the other reviews, there are a few items that I wanted to point out: Akitas is not a fast food restaurant. The owner takes great care in making every roll. I have grown to appreciate this quality and continue to return again and again with friends and family. When you visit Akitas, you need to expect to spend time there and enjoy your company. The food is definitely worth the wait. I would suggest bringing a bottle of wine and visiting for dinner. The servers are trained never approach the table unless the menu is closed. I realized this after my second visit. When you have decided what you would like to order, be sure to close your menu as a signal to the wait staff. I also felt the need to point out that sushi rolls are traditionally served at room temperature. On another note, the hibachi is amazing. The meat is tender, the vegetables nicely cooked. The dish is seasoned with traditional flavors. A lot of my friends, those that don't care for sushi, have ordered the hibachi and raved about it. The prices are not cheap, but they are not absurd. It is a nice restaurant with good quality offerings. The average meal for two people costs about 20-30$. Akitas is by far, my favorite place to eat in the Harrisburg area.

I honestly ended up here on accident and I'm so glad I did! The food was absolutely delicious and there was a wide variety of different types of dishes even for those who didn't like sushi!

Just so-so. Atmosphere was pleasant enough, and service was okay. Seaweed salad portion was smallest I've ever seen. Ordered Q and Angel rolls on Jared's recommendation, but was not impressed. Pretty bland. I'd like the folks who think this sushi is so marvelous to just try M Sushi House or Miso

I truly believe that Akita's is the victim of poor location. It took me weeks just to find it as it is tucked deeply within a parking lot strip mall. Once I found it, it became my go-to for ordering work lunches. My only experiences with Akita's has been in ordering for takeaway. I've always been able to phone in and order and simply pick it up. Service in that respect has always been quick, and I've had no problems with missing or incorrect items. I've also walked in for takeaway and had just as efficient an experience. Staff has always been pleasant. The food itself is good, but nothing spectacular. I've tried the regular menu items as well as the specials. I don't have any complaints, but I also don't have any specific raves.
