"There’s holes in walls, and then there is Akwaaba Kitchen, which is literally a hole in the wall on Camberwell New Road and easy to walk past even for locals who know exactly where it is. Akwaaba means “welcome” in Twi, Ghana’s most mutually understood language, and Akwaaba Kitchen mainly specialises in chichinga, skewers of meat doused in a spicy, aromatic powder, which can be had on jollof rice, or with rice in a wrap which Akwaaba get extra credit for not succumbing to calling it a “burrito.” But he best thing at Akwaaba is not the skewers nor the wrap, or indeed anything traditionally Ghanaian, but the glazed hot wings, shatteringly crisp and tossed in a spicy and sweet ginger sauce. I wanted to like this place so bad but the food is not giving at all, especially for the price. I tried them last year for the first time and was disappointed with the quality of the chicken -it was old and had a green tint - I couldn’t eat it. I decided to give them another try today over a year later and I still had a similar experience with the grilled tilapia. It looked like it came out the ocean and onto a plate. Not grilled at all but maybe oven baked and it was dry inside though the outside looked uncooked. I will say that the jollof was cool though and they tried with the kele wele it could be a little more ripe/softer but good flavor.

One of the very few times I've loved a place for the service, atmosphere and the food. The place is very clean and quiet. I have a gripe with most eateries in Accra playing loud music so if you're trying to have a conversation with someone you'll end up spraying droplets of saliva by shouting to their hearing. Well, cry no more. I loved the ambience and the quiet. The food is very good to match. There's quite a variety to choose from and you won't be disappointed. Earned my seal of approval

I went there based on some reviews but I guess I was to have my own experience. The spring rolls were okay. The yam and palava sauce will be scored 5/10. The stew heaped on the fish resulted in it being very soggy. The yam was really hard and got cold so quickly. I may have to try another meal to confirm if that is it or things can be better.

First time ordering from this restaurant. And am pleasantly surprised and pleased with the quality. The packaging was neat and the taste of the food was 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾. Would recommend, will definitely order again

Affordable, easily budget-able and Great selections of local dishes. Good ambience and friendly staff. Have varieties of coffee as well. Lovely Afro fusion restaurant. I definitely recommend AKWAABA'S KITCHEN

The jollof was hard and uncooked and the goat meat was so small it was the size of my thumb (and they charge 35 cedis for the goat meat alone)- it was also just fat no lean meat. Although they sent fish to try and compensate- I’m over it. This is the Second time I’m having a terrible experience with them. The first time they sent me old chicken made several days prior. Your prices far exceed the quality of your food.

I'm going to give this place a 3/5 , I ate some noodles and they had a lot of vegetables in there. I mean it was okay but i literally had to take some of them out. Also, it did not come with chicken. it was good but it could be better

I really had a bad experience (service)this evening due to the portioning of the meal presented , I complained to the waitress likewise requested for the chef on duty but I wasn’t pleased with the way they handled the situation, mind you I mostly eat here with my family 4 times a week every evening. I will not recommend this place to anyone
