Experience a very good meal! My mother and I ordered mutton cubes with rice, and a boneless roasted whole chicken. The portion of the meal was so full that we finally packed almost half of it back to the hotel to eat (the packing box is free!) The clerks are friendly. The food is served very quickly. There is no compulsory tips.

Google
Absolutely love the food here – it’s incredibly clean, fresh, and full of flavor. You can really see and taste the quality – the chicken is perfectly tender and juicy, and the vegetables taste like they were just picked from the garden. It reminds me so much of home in Lebanon, and that’s what makes it special for me. Honestly, this is the best grilled chicken I’ve had in London. Highly recommend!

Have come here often, this place is my favourite choice for eating it in Edgware Rd. The food is excellent, high quality of meat, cooked to perfection. They are busy for a good reason, but don't let put you off you will get seated and the food does get served quickly. You will need to grab to servers attention but they are friendly. The atmosphere is loud but its perfectly suited for families and as solo trips. Not too bad on price either. Sheesha is a bit of miss as the flavoured are dated but there loads of spaces nearby. The real question is, is the mission to get here worth it? Well yes even if you have to come from a hour away, the food is worth it

Google
We ordered a chicken and a lamb shawarma. The food was delicious and the portions were generous (not surprised as generosity is in the Arabic people's DNA). The service was amazing so will definitely come back! 😀

Google
This was my first time to try this lebanese food restaurant and it did not disappoint. Real value for money and generous serving (single dish actually good for 2) All we ordered were 10/10. All staff were nice as well.

Google
Been here many times in the last 5/6 years. Food is great, service is good (it can get difficult to grab someone’s attention when it’s busy) and the prices are decent as well in reference to the portion sizes. Favourites off the menu: chicken shawarma, shish Tauok, grilled baby chicken. Everything comes with a choice of rice or chips and a really nice pickled salad! Only issue is that the toilets are not the cleanest so that part of the restaurant could do with some maintenance.

Google
Went for breakfast here today. The lamb dish was ok but I ordered shakshooka for £9. I have seen this online and it looks way better than what I received. Rather than an Arab omelet, I got some bland and plain scrambled eggs with the tiniest bit of onion and some tomato. I could have made this at home for literally less than £1. Very disappointed

Google
I’ve been coming to this restaurant on Edgware Road for years, and I’m sad to say it has hit an all-time low. This Ramadan, it took me 30 minutes just to get the waiter's attention, and then another 40 minutes to receive my food! If I weren't fasting, I might have been more forgiving, but that’s just unacceptable. The food was average, and the hygiene and cleanliness were appalling. I even had to change tables. To top it off, the management and servers were incredibly rude. It’s clear from the other low reviews that this place is struggling. Management always responds with excuses like “the restaurant is busy" but that doesn’t excuse the decline in quality and customer service. There's a big difference between being busy and providing a decent dining experience.

Yelp
Another mom n pop eatery that we discovered that turned out to be very good, that served generous portions for food. I ordered the mix shawarma plate and added an order of fries. I opted to get the shawarma plate on a bed of fries also. The meats were tender, juicy and seasoned so good. The juices blended into the fries adding aroma and flavor to them. The plate was packed with salad and other sides such as coleslaw n pickles Etc. The extra plate of fries was delicious also. Our server brought our order to the table. After we initially ordered at the counter, but it's not really a sit down service. Ambiance was fine too, as u would expect.

Yelp
My favorite Lebanese restaurant ever in London UK. Very family oriented, the owners are there every day. They all treat you as if you are family and super sweet to you. The workers are super nice and hard working. I have been going there since 2013 so 10 years now. The food is so so so so good like there is no way I wouldn't go daily to eat there when I am in London. One of the brothers (owners) is the master chef. I only do hookah when I am travelling and only trust them with my hookah. The place is super clean and nice. I can't wait to go back to London to see everyone as yes I feel I am going back to see family at this point and eat the delicious food!

Yelp
Loved it. It's a pretty massive place meaning if you want to hold a party, completely doable. My colleague are I came for late lunch. For the most part, everything is pretty much shareable. Just don't get carried away when ordering. We ended up having more food then expected. We also loved everything except from the hallume cheese. It was salty to the extreme and made that squeaking noise when chewed. Not a fan. Oh and that buff rude bald dude. He wasn't rude to us, but extremely disrespectful to our server. Boy, we know Arabic too.

Yelp
Looks exactly the same as my visit 7 years ago. I got the lunch special, Lamb Shawarma plate. Quite frankly I could only identify the pickles, lamb and the bread. You need to order extra bread as only a tiny piece came with the plate. The bread is the most incredible pita I have ever had! As for the sides, the yoghurt and spicy pepper relish and eggplant couscous dish came along side. Just fantastic and HUGE.

Yelp
Loved this family restaurant. Food was great. I had Kibbeh in yogurt sauce that was so good. I could have split it but my husband had already ordered a schwarma which he loved. I appreciate the casual dinner hour with no need to rush off, enjoying conversation with hookah and tea. Service was great. Please check it out

Yelp
Al Arez is a middle eastern restaurant with multiple locations around London serving up wraps, shawarma platters, and more. The mixed shawarma platter was ginormous and delicious--I left totally stuffed. The wraps are ok if you want something smaller or for takeaway. Overall a nice option for tasty Middle Eastern cuisine.

Yelp
Food is amazing! It's a must stop if you're wanting to dine with a big group of friends or just by yourself lol

Yelp
My friend and I are visiting from the US:Miami FL. And stoped here for dinner... IT WAS AMAZING! The service was great and the food was just fantastic and the price for everything was so reasonable. Definitely a must try if you're in the area... The only bad thing we experienced- we did get some bad looks ((we have our sleeves tattooed and facial piercings) I asked before we walked in if that was ok out of respect and the staff greeted us with open arms which was nice... guests weren't to happy I think. )) All in all the food was amazing... lentil soup and rice was so delicious and the falafel was flavorful and cooked to perfection. We had a cheese filled empanadas type thing that was to die for. Definitely going back again

Yelp
Doesn't look like much when you walk past and this side of town is Arab populated so you'll find plenty of Mediterranean food. I was greeted by the Manager walking past to browse the menu, I already knew I was going to eat here as it was recommended by friends in the states. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was good chicken wasn't dry so that is always a plus. However, the falafel was a little on the salty side, baklava was moist. They also offer hookah which I regret not trying to add to this review. I would come here again solely based on the service. Enjoy !

Yelp
First off, the staff was amazing. My family and I had just arrived in london and were tired and hungry. Despite the fact they were closing in 10, they served us, and boy was the food delicious . Get the falafel sandwich or the chicken shawarma sandwich with cheesy fries for a bomb meal . Shout out to our waiter he's a real one!

Yelp
This place's own success seems to have spoilt them. I really used to enjoy their fate, especially appetizer and grilled items, but I walked into a sure disappointment today. Ordered lamb korma and was given something remotely resembling one. When I asked, I was just asked to eat whatever was presented to me. The meat was unevenly cooked, and some bits outright not edible. So I left most of it back on the plate. Bye they do not take American Express cards

Yelp
Sometimes what you see is what you get and this is when a place like this comes into play. A little for-warning do not go into this place expecting a great and personal service as you wont find it here. However what you will find is great food and fast at that. We came in and knew exactly what we wanted shwarmar wraps, chips and fatoush salad. The Shwarnar wraps were yummy with the right amount of meat and not that much oily residue that you would normally find in these kinds of wraps. The chips were your usual from the freezer deal but the fatoush was the best I had outside of Beirut.

Yelp
The best lebanese kitchen place i've tried. Came from U.S. and wanted to try some shawrma. It tasted delicious!!! Ask for a mint lemonade!! Great service as well
google avatar

Atira S.

Yelp
Great food, poor service! The food was very authentic and tasty. The lamb and chicken was very tender and extremely tasty! And the rice was pretty decent. However the service was slowwwww! There was barely anybody in the restaurant and it was still so slow! We had to ask multiple times just to get our waters filled. The bad service totally ruined my ranking for this restaurant. Up the service guys!

Yelp
Jesus-tap-dancing-Christ this place is good. I came here with a group of people at about 9pm on a Friday and they seated us with no fuss. It was pretty busy, especially outside where people were smoking Shisha. The service was friendly and very quick. We ordered a mixture of mezzé starters and main courses to share - all of which were very tasty. I had stuffed vine leaves, which were lovely, and my chicken stew was great. The portions were huuuuuuuge - we were all really full after the starters, so barely made a dent on the main courses. It's a no-alcohol restaurant, but there are loads of fresh juices and smoothies to have, plus the usual sodas and everything. Did I mention that this place is cheap? There were 5 of us and each of us had a starter, a main and a drink. The bill? Sixty of the Queen's finest pound notes. As Tim Wonnacott would say, that's a bargain.

Yelp
Also - try their tabouleh and hummos. So delicious !!!! Tabouleh - is fresh and full of flavour. Easy on the bulgur and tomato, hard on the parsley. Good use of lemon juice. Yum! Hummos - Freshly made. Smooth. Soft whole chickpeas. Extra virgin olive oil. Spicy paprika. Warm khobz. PERFECT. Best I've had.

Yelp
Had lunch at Al Arez today and was unfortunately quite disappointed. Ambiance isn't the greatest. The restaurant is like a factory, has zero charm, and it isn't super clean. Service isn't friendly but it's fine for the most part. Food definitely took a while to come out. Food itself was mixed: -- Husband liked his chicken shish and the portion was substantial. -- Daughter didn't love the lamb shwarma and hardly ate it. I didn't try it but it was visually unappealing so maybe that was the problem? The accompanying rice was excellent though. -- I ordered the seabass, which came whole (my fault for not double checking it was a fillet). The fish was flavorless and had so many tiny bones that I couldn't eat most of it. Very disappointing. Overall I wasn't impressed and wouldn't return. There are too many better Lebanese restaurants in London.

Yelp
This Lebanese cafe/restaurant on the Edgware Road offers great value for money - good service and great food. We had foul moudamas (broad beans and chick peas cooked in tomato and garlic), feta salad and a mixed shawarma (marinated chicken and lamb). Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. The portions are generous. This is a great place to order a selection of dishes and share with one another. No alcohol is served but there is a large selection of juices - my favourite is the avocado and honey smoothie. Recommended!!

Yelp
Food is amazing Staffs are friendly but service is average Wraps are less than 5 pound which is very good value Do not recommend fruit smoothy, it's not iced cold, 3.5 pound for a small cup Grill meat is amazing tho, fresh and perfectly spiced.
google avatar

Yelp
Al arez has never failed to disappoint. The service and food is always very quick! The food is always excellently prepared and the shish taouk, I believe is the best dish! The hummus is also a MUST. There are several branches to this food restaurant- but the Edgware Road one is the best as the atmosphere is a lot better!

Yelp
We love this place so much that we've gone back twice so far with different sets of friends, all of whom agreed (including carnivores, veggies and vegans). You can get individual main courses, but I recommend going for lots of the cheap, tapas-style (but far bigger portions) dishes. For very little money you can cover the table with yummy things and imagine you are at a banquet. This is a busy, wipe-clean table sort of a place, takeaway available, family friendly. There are loads of places on the same road where you can finish the evening with a shisha pipe, mint tea or baklava. Bliss. I loved the super garlicky hummus; french beans in olive oil and lemon; okra and grilled halloumi. However, as a carnivore, it is with saliva quivering on my tongue that I say... Lamb. Oh, the lamb. If you eat meat you *need* to buy their amazing shawarma sandwich. The cheapest i've seen on this continent. £3 buys you an obscenely fat wrap (width of a bloke's fist and bursting at the seams) packed with a gut-busting amount of the heavenly lamb, pickles, onion, sauces etc. So so good. Please, someone else go and review this sandwich so that I know it wasn't just a dream.

Yelp
After all the hype, I was incredibly disappointed by Al Arez. We had just finished the circle line pub crawl and in dire need of some food. Naturally we opted for a kebab and Al Arez was conveniently close by. We were seated quite quickly (group of 12 at midnight) and served shortly there after. We had all ordered some variety of shawarma and they came nicely rolled up. But cold. Oh so very cold. It seemed like they had taken them out of the fridge and not even bothered to zap them before serving. Needless to say, it was not worth the 3.75 squids I had to part with to get it. Overall, if I'm in edgware, I'd rather just grab a quick one at Helen's than try Al Arez but maybe the takeaway is better.

Yelp
PLEASE AVOID THIS Place. Such a poor quality of service. I have been many middle eastern restaurants all over the globe but this one is by far my biggest disappointment. It was 5 of us so they put 3 small table together which fits 2 person per table. After o ordered the manager on second floor came ask one of the table back since I didn't order a lot of food. I was shocked. I said it is very uncomfortable to sit 5 people in 2 small table. She said I will need the table anyways. The restaurant wasn't super busy. She seems like second floor manager. She was extremely rude. Then they totally messed up our drink. She also seemed very rude to her employees what I could see from far. I will never come back here again. Wouldn't recommend this place. Food was very mediocre.
google avatar

Lala C.

Yelp
We tried a variety of dishes. The beef was on the tough chewy side, so I'd avoid that next time. Presentation was nice. Good for fast group meals or for quick on the go stop. Wraps are good also.
google avatar

Laura S.

Yelp
The food is amazing there, relatively cheap as well! Normally we'll go there and one main and one starter would be enough for two people, the bill rarely gets higher than £23. The service is bad...sometimes you need to wait and wait and wait for food, but it's always worth the wait. I am also not a fan of the interior there ..lacks a 'dining out' atmosphere - i would say 3 stars for the atmosphere, and 5 stars for the food. Hummus, baba ganouj, tabouleh, lamb, chicken...everything is delicious, i like going there and trying something new every time. Mango juice is yummy and since I always loved complimentary stuff - in this case you get olives and pickled peppers and if you run out of bread but have loads of meat/sauce left, you can have more - for free! Sauces that comes with meals (i think one is garlicky and another is with chillies) - both are delicious. Al Arez is my frequent choice for Sunday dinners for sure, especially if i'm on the budget.
google avatar

Johannah H.

Yelp
We had a good meze dinner here with all the classics present. the fattoush was really well done and the baba ganoush was fabulous. I think this place is as good as Maroush but half the price so wins my vote. The atmosphere was fun and busy too which helps. No alcohol served here but the lemon and mint drink was fantastic!

Yelp
Not a bad lebanese restaurant, a good substitute in case you didn't want to pay 13 pounds for gelato at Harrods (its located across the street) Service could use a bit of work, not very friendly or helpful at all I enjoyed my lamb and chicken lebanese salad, the lamb was ok, decent at best but the chicken was very tender and juicy! Their hot sauces are great I've got videos of my food here on my blog: http://youtu.be/lshhrW1-yK0
google avatar

Yelp
We were in London for a week and ate at this great middle eastern restaurant twice. So it tells you how good the food is. We had hummus with chicken shawarma and my hubby had grill chicken plate and I had chicken shawarma plate with salad. Everything was delicious and service was great! Will definitely miss it when we go back!
google avatar

Dyna A.

Yelp
The food was okay I recommend the chicken but the hookah is pure trash It made me and my friends sick the waiters were rude and kept giving us attitude I puked after the hookah it had no flavor and it tasted like coal from the begging it's not worth going here especially for the prices.
google avatar

John W.

Yelp
Not really good. Looking at the cooks... I keep thinking 'this is going to be awesome!'. But... No. My server sucked. No biggie... I came for the food. Ambiance was 'blah'... But again I came for the authentic food. I even left some fancy place to come here... Looking for epic. Food was average at best. Had the mixed grill. The usual overlooked flavorless chicken... Lamb kebob that just wasn't great. Sauce like the tahini was crappy (watery... Not thick. So water added). Yeah not pleased. Yes I am picky... But not unreasonable.

Yelp
Just had a chicken shwarma w fries. Very good. Crispy fries and tender meat. All for 7.5 with a coke. Def will come back again
google avatar

Parth K.

Yelp
Went to this place yesterday with a few friends. The reason for 3 stars is because from outside it looks amazing and then when you go inside you don't get that feeling of being a great place to eat. It could have been a bit more well planned and maybe having more clean display dishes. Having said that, the food is very rich in flavours and the falafel sandwich was amazing! Also, good value for money.
google avatar

Kharman T.

Yelp
Food was delicious but service not so good. They have a lot of waiters but they have poor customer service.
google avatar

Yelp
I come here a lot. I know I write that about a lot of places, but this is my favourite Lebanese restaurant in London, bar none. Fantastic service, fantastic food, shisha outside, and unbelievably cheap. I once took a friend there and he said "guys, I never have to eat anywhere else again" having sampled a chicken shish sandwich for the bargain price of £3.50. And as a bonus, I am not sure if this place ever closes as it's been open whenever I've rocked up for dinner, even very late at night!
google avatar

Goetz B.

Yelp
Al Arez Express is a newly opened Lebanese restaurant on the Northern end of Edgware Road. The restaurant is actually more like two restaurants in one. There is the area around the counter, very light, and not really a place where you want to rest too long. In the back, there is a more relaxed dining area that looked much more pleasant if you are not in a hurry. When I went there I ordered a delicious chicken dish. Tender and nicely spiced chicken pieces, a tasty dish and a place I will visit again.
google avatar

Faisal L.

Yelp
Al Arez is located in the heart of London, on Edgware Road, which is a mini-Arabia of sorts in London. It is one of many middle-eastern restaurants in the area and boasts a busy and bustling scene. Unfortunately, this means that you might be waiting for a table on busy nights and service will definitely be slow. Food is good, but then most of the restaurants in the area serve good food. The establishment also boasts a sheesha scene on the curb outside. Fair warning - it is a bit on the more expensive side.

Yelp
This visit was one of my most memorable visits so far. The food could have been disgusting, however the extremely friendly service would have been enough compensation for it. Lucky enough for all visitors, the food is actually amazing. It looks and tastes fresh and healthy and it truely gives you the felling of a mothers cooking. The price was great, this restaurant truely gives u value for your money. I do not regret any penny spent in that restaurant. This is truely a place to experience. Pro's: Great food and service for a wondeful price Con's: No cons

Yelp
We are visiting London and are staying off Edgware road. Tried this restaurant with family. Really disappointed. Service was horrible. Food was mediocre at best and mixed grill we ordered was not cooked well at all. Kebabs were under cooked and food was served a bit cold. To top it all drinks we ordered were not served despite repeated reminders to the server. Staff was pretty rude and not apologetic at all for bad service. Really amazed that this kind of restaurant can function in such competitive area. Really one of the worst restaurants we visited in London.
google avatar

Suhail T.

Yelp
This is a kinda like the places you'd see in Amman and Beirut, only you're in the middle of Arabville London. The staff are all Arab and have the whole sloooow attitude to service. What I did see were a lot of Arabs eating here, so i had a feeling that the food was pretty neat. I was wrong....it was AWESOME. They served a lot of food for the cost. Try the mixed grill plate. Love the free olives and peppers dish that was put in front of us as soon as we sat. Was real busy on a Saturday 3 PM.

Stephanie K.

Yelp
We chose this place solely based on reviews from Yelp and I am forever thankful to those who wrote awesome reviews! Thus far Al Arez's has been the best meal I've have had in London! Granted this is also my first time in London but in comparison to any other Middle Eastern restaurants I've tried in the USA Al Arez is top of my list! Someone wrote to order food at the counter, good tip. On my visit someone actually sat us but then took forever for someone to take our order. My sister and I started with the hummus, very good. Maybe not the best ever but certainly any points lost here they were made up for with the Lamb Shawrama & Tabouleh! Again Lamb Shawrama & Tabouleh, fantastic! My sister had a sausage wrap (not the spicy one) which was also delicious! Not even close to the best service I've ever had but definitely tolerable for the oh soo delicious food :)

Yelp
I have mixed feelings about Al Arez. I have been here a few times and each visit I seem to have a complaint. I do like sharing shisha in the outside seating area, even in the dead of winter. But, due to the high demand of tables and shisha lovers, the staff will tend to ignore you if you linger too long at your table. It was very rude as a customer to have to repeatedly ask for the hot coals to be replaced and to call attention for service. The last time I visited, I was there only for the food and sat indoors. After receiving the bill, I learned that I had been charged double for an item size that I didn't order. And, some items had an extra 50p or £1 added to the total cost per item. It was absolutely disgraceful and I doubt I will ever return again. This is a shame because Al Arez was my go-to-spot for shisha/Lebanese food on Edgware Road. The two stars is solely for the food which I previously enjoyed like the hummus, lamb doner, and milk pudding. The complimentary baklava is a sweet treat too, which is much needed after the distress you may face...
google avatar

Clayton L.

Yelp
This place knows how to do shawarma, kafta, etc extremely well. I don't know how else to articulate it. Everything is fresh, perfect tabouleh, pita nice and thin. Service is awesome, great atmosphere. Not a lot of choice for drinks, but on the other hand, it kind of leads you to choose one of their fresh juices, which are juiced right there when you order. The portions are huge. This is important to note because if you want the proper experience (hummus, pita, tabouleh, etc) by the time you get your dinner you're already half full, and this is even worse if you order rice with it like I usually would want. In reality, the dish comes with everything you need. Half of a pita is all you need to go with the massive amount of meat you get, and our food came with it. I tried the kafta, and it was exactly what I wanted. Hummus, etc was also spot on...not sure why others would complain about water in it, since making tahini without water is impossible and its consistency does vary according to the type of restaurant/situation. A thinner tahini is not only common, but sometimes desirable.

I am a regular at Al Arez and go there too often. lol I have been going there since 2008 and I have always loved the food. The quality and price is perfecto. Great to see that they are expanding. Surely coz of their good work.

Yelp
Over the years that i have been in London, i have frequently lusted at the delightful middle eastern eating joints that line both sides of the stretch of Edgware road between the Edgware Road tube station and Marble Arch, while travelling on the number 23 bus. But fate conspired to keep me away from there until last night when we dropped in to Al Arez after returning to London from a day out in the Midlands. I was greeted by the smell of the hookah smoke combined with that of lamb. It was enchanting. I looked around to find a huge plate of rice and minced lamb placed on the top of the counter. The decision was made ... i must have that. It was much like biriyani except for the fact that there weren't any big, solid pieces of meat. If you have it with yoghurt, it tastes just the same. My friends ordered hummus and chips for starters. The hummus was very nice, with just the right amount of olive oil and chickpeas at the centre. It was accompanied by a plate of olives and chillis with vinegar inside. I usually stay away from green chilis but this was a positive revelation to me.The chips were very english in nature ... and fresh. For the main course one of my friends ordered rice with an okra dish. I thought it was a decent dish, but my friend was of the opinion that it was quite bland. Another ordered kafta kashkash, a spicy kebab dish with lots of onions (both raw and fried) on the side ... very similar to seekh kebabs. I had the lamb schwarma which was very good ... the meat was cooked to perfection. Two of us had the Ayran yoghurt drink which was very similar to the Indian "chaas", but with mint. The quantity of food served in each of the preparations were significantly above what we had expected. Their side-dish portions are more like that of a main course elsewhere. Unfortunately we couldn't possibly eat it all :( The only downside of the place was that the service was extremely slow, lousy and haphazard. It took inordinately long for the main courses to arrive. We had to move tables and they mixed up our orders after that and charged us for things we didn't have. The soft drinks were not cold and at least one of the servers was quite unhelpful (though another did a lot to make up for the first one). This place gets very crowded on saturday nights, but it seems that they don't have the systems to deal with the surge in customer numbers. But at only about £16 per head for a full spread of food, its definitely a place i would return to if i am ever in that area.

Yelp
An employee at Harrods told us to go here when asked or something close by for lunch and we are glad we took his advice. Large portions, great prices, solid Lebanese food. Service was good and the place was packed during lunch on a weekday. I had the khafta and started with the hummus, both great. I was surprised at the menu size vs. what Ive seen at similar restaurants in the states, could easily go back a few times and try a few new dishes.
