Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara (Salalah, Oman) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Though the Emirates may top the charts when it comes to sheer extravagance, there’s a case to be made for Oman as the Arabian Peninsula’s capital of cool hotels. It’s blessed with extraordinary landscapes, a rich cultural heritage, and a prime coastal location at the edge of the Indian Ocean — and the last of these is the variable that best explains the appeal of the Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara." - Tablet Hotels

We stayed at this resort more than six years ago and we wanted to experience staying here again in the Khareef Season. Some things did change, but this hotel still was a great choice. Check-in was simple and easy and all staff members were polite, Helpful , nice and friendly. Our one bedroom garden view Villa was very clean. The gardens and the hotel are very well maintained and taken good care of. They have a small farm where they grow some of their food that they use to serve in their restaurants. I have to say that the food in the hotel is very expensive so keep a budget for that. The food is very good, but not the greatest. Like I said, the staff were very friendly but sometimes I felt like it was over exaggerated I am not sure if they were trained that way, but I wish if they could tame it down just a little bit we are friendly people, but sometimes it could get annoying this is not a complaint just a piece of advice for the hotel. Again, this is our second time staying here and I do not regret it. It is expensive, but you get what you pay for. I would definitely return here again.

I stayed at Al Baleed Resort Salalah, in a 1 Bedroom Garden View Pool Villa (176 sqm), for 4 nights. This resort is the First luxury ”pool villa” resort in Salalah. The villa is surely spacious and beautifully designed. |.|Staff:-|Mr Mohammed Al Shahri|(Reservations Agent) was very accommodating on the phone. |Miss Athari from reception was very welcoming . I was presented with Omani Frankincense welcoming drink upon checking in. Lady Kawkab from reception was so so generous, she always offers Omani Frankincense drink every morning ! I was happy to receive and enjoy this refreshing drink. Miss andrea & team (Housekeeping staff) did a great job. Mr Mohammed Hassan from laundry was super quick and cheerful. Mr Abdul rehman from room dining was sweet and helpful. Mr Laxman from Sakalan was the ultimate host, he has a good experience in hospitality, he was so friendly and hospitable. |.|Dining:- |Sakalan’s breakfast was OK, the Karak tea was average (lacks spices); the food lacks flavor, and the dining hall lacks proper ventilation because cooking smell will be lingering In guests cloths ! Ventilation was not working! I had lunch of Omani vegetable salona (stew) with rice from the monsoon menu, the stew was hearty but lacks spices and the rice was fluffy. |.|I truly enjoyed my stay and I will be back for visiting Jebel Akhdar Anantara, next year. |.|See photos of my room

We had a great stay at Al Baleed. The rooms were always meticulous due to Hussan and the housekeeping team. Noura and the whole spa team were fantastic and super friendly. Service in all the restaurants was always attentive. Marina our villa host was very kind and helpful in arranging activities and reservations. The farm tour with Adil was super interesting. Overall we had a great stay

Very rude and uncooperative staff. They have a policy that they will only abide to when you already spent half your stay so they basically don’t give a damn about you since the money is nonrefundable anymore. They don’t care if you are pregnant or disabled, and would not even try to help making your stay a little more comfortable and smooth. They will literally ignore your requests and you will have to wait TWO HOURS for in room dining even if they are informed of your pregnancy and your need to get your medicines on time and with food. And if you don’t want to wait that long for some mid food ( with extra unidentifiable object such as hair, cling wrap pieces INSIDE THE FOOD and not laying on top, and runny eggs when asked for well done as you do not want to risk losing your fetus because of salmonella ) you will not be allowed to order outside food ( depends on how the butler or the reception is feeling today, if he’s in a bad mood you won’t be eating unfortunately ). Honestly i would never recommend this place for anyone especially as a family with kids or disabled or pregnant women because they simply don’t dive a heck if you’re risking your pregnancy/health or not. * REPLY: I didn’t report the issues at the time because the food had already arrived two hours late and my family — including myself, a pregnant woman — was already starving. In that moment, the priority was feeding my family, not chasing staff who had already shown a lack of care or urgency. In case you’re unaware: When you’re pregnant and medically required to take medication with food, waiting two hours isn’t just inconvenient — it’s dangerous. Reporting it “in time” would have meant even further delays or missed medication. Not to mention, the food quality itself was unacceptable, which made the situation even more distressing. Just because I didn’t have the energy or capacity to escalate in the moment doesn’t mean the experience was any less real — or any less unacceptable. Again; the reply on behalf of the resort shows further lack of responsibility by basically saying “ it didn’t happen because you didn’t report it “. Mind you, there are many other inconveniences that should be taken seriously but I CHOSE to not include them as the review was already posted and they happened after.

We had originally planned to stay for four nights but ended up leaving after just one. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of what we expected from a five-star property: • The hotel was not properly cleaned. • The food was mediocre — the rice was undercooked, the pasta overcooked, and the breakfast very average. • A strong smell from the kitchen spread into the guest areas on the first night. • We had a villa with a private pool, but the pool was dirty and we couldn’t use it. Overall, this hotel is nowhere near a five-star standard — at best, it’s a three-star experience.

The staff was nearly perfect and the staff particularly at Sakalan restaurant was incredible. Thank you very much Made, Marichel, Laxman for your service and your kindness especially towards my kids who loved you. My daughter has dairy allergy and they went above and beyond for her to make her stay special :). Thank you.

We stayed here for 2 nights and I can say that from the dreamy room to the experience, the food and the warm-hearted staff, this hotel nails it all! By the time I was staying, they made a nice birthday surprise for me when we came to our room. It was a small thing that made me really happy. Thank you so much!🥰❤️
