Nestled in the hills of belluno is this 17th century Villa that's been transformed into a quaint inviting restaurant. When you step through the doorway you feel like you've been blast into the past. From the wood work, to the wooden sculptures, you just feel immersed in old world Italy!! Then you step into the restaurant, where the chef greets you behind the counter, a roaring fireplace behind you and the cucina a legna still standing. Into the dining hall where the wooden beams above give you a sense of comfort. For my first course I had the tagliatelle with venison ragout, delicious to the last bite!! Followed by the stewed venison, so tender and flavorful, and the polenta was creamy!! To finish things off I enjoyed the vanilla gelato and tiramisu. The atmosphere was one thing, but paired with the food, I felt at home!!! I highly recommend AL BORGO to anyone traveling the region!!
