Food, Margaritas and service is all excellent! Margaritas are fresh, not that pre-made mix. Thursdays is $5 house Margaritas. Can't beat that! I'm a big fan of the steak tacos and queso fundido!

Good food and great service. I had the Chilaquiles with skirt steak, and they were tasty, not exactly authentic, but still good. Their menu is very limited, catering more towards the Anglo community instead of the Mexican community. For instance, they don't have Menudo, Pozole, carnitas, caldo de Res, caldo de pollo, lengua, or carne al pastor. They have a decent selection of beers, good margaritas, and some wine. They also recently added a small outdoor dining area for a better summer dining experience.

The service was great the food was good but the food was a small amount for the cost. I got a quesadilla from the appetizer list for $11 plus $5 extra for steak but it was 4 very small pieces. Also a soda ($3) and a margarita ($13) for me and I don't think it was worth the prices.

Friendly service, nice, clean place. Lunch menu was limited, not a ton of options, but the food is excellent. Fresh, good quality ingredients, nice balance of flavors. Homemade chips and salsa, and the hot sauce was really nice. Food presentation was also impressive for what seemed like a small, hole in the wall place. Definitely worth trying out.

This is a good place for a quick lunch. The service is good, food is ok and prices are fair. Nothing fancy or out of this world. If you are looking for a quick Mexican lunch this is a nice place.

Lovely atmosphere and tasty food in Darien right off Cass Ave. I enjoyed the chicken Burrito Bowl. It was only $9 and yummy. I could only eat half of my entree.

Order a small guacamole this was portion to cup . Chips for guacamole were stale

The food and margaritas are always delicious. Also offers one of the best desserts out there - the churro ice cream, yum! Service is great always attentive and helpful. Highly recommend.

Great food, great service. Simple Mexican food with good ingredients. The servers are super friendly and accommodating. Definitely recent the queso, steak quesadillas, and shrimp fajitas.

This is a good place for a quick lunch. The service is good, food is ok and prices are fair. Nothing fancy or out of this world. If you are looking for a quick Mexican lunch this is a nice place.

I was pleased with my tacos! I ordered Steak and Al Pastor and both were the best tacos i've had in darien. Would definitely recommend, they also give you chips with salsa on a pick up order just like if you would dine in:) Give it a try, it'll be worth it!

We went with some friends for dinner the other night. As usual the fare was fresh Mexican - the closest thing we have found to the Mexican food we get when we go to San Diego. The margaritas are well mixed and the freshly cooked tacos, enchiladas and burritos keep us coming back for more. This is authentic Mexican at its best. Highly recommend!!

Best food in Darien food and the service excellent.Front desk server very hostess and always helpful

Ordered take out and overall the meal was just okay. We ordered a 3 taco plate with rice and beans and a taco salad. The portion sizes were decent. I thought the taco plate was better than the salad. There was plenty of filling in the salad, but it was a bit bland and could have used more salsa. The shell also seemed a bit over done as well. It also came with some chips and salsa.

Tacos are over priced and not that gd the bar and drinks are gd and so was the service

Food was really good however service was terrible. Our orders came out wrong, up charged for cheese which came with the tacos but they didn't put the cheese on there. Had to ask multiple times for our water to be refilled.

The service is great and the food is much better now than it was before, whoever the new chef is, he is doing a great job!

Ceviche is so bomb the three tacos served with rice and beans meal is amazing a quite adorable lil spot on cass avenue this is my favorite spot and please get the mangonada delicious

Just ordered lunch from this place, got the Al Chile burrito which is the bean burrito. Needless to say, this is not a bean burrito, and it doesn't smell great.

I had an overnight stay in the Bolingbroke area and found Al Chile on the local yelp reviews, what a great find! I just spent a month in playa del Carmen, and I can say this is a genuine authentic Mexican restaurant! So, when I'm alone, I sit at the bar. It wasn't on the menu but I asked the bartender to make me a michceleda, which is almost like a Bloody Mary with a Mexican beer on top! He did an excellent job! The special was tortilla soup so I ordered that with the al pastor tacos! The soup was fresh and incredible, it had fresh avocado, chicken and fresh crumbled cheese on top. The tacos were amazing! Fresh pork with onion and pineapple, the spicy and sweet with the excellent hot sauce and cilantro were delicious. If you're in the area, make the stop you will love it! The place was cool, even though it was in a strip mall, it had a cool vibe and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

Hidden gem! Authentic Mexican restaurant with a modern ambiance. Quality of food was excellent!

This was our second visit since Al Chile' opened. Each visit was on TACO TUESDAY because who doesn't want $2 tacos?! First visit I had the pastor tacos & a margarita. The margarita was delicious. Tacos are on the spicy side, so if you don't like that type of thing, I'd steer clear. Our second visit, I had the carne asade & shrimp tacos ($2.50 but who cares) - both were great & the sauce on the shrimp tacos makes my mouth water just thinking about it. 3 stars because the tacos are awfully small - even for $2. Oh, by the way, it is tucked into a strip mall a few doors down from Q-Bar.

The restaurant was clean, very nice and simple decor, perfect menu, and the manager/waitress was wonderful! Everybody needs to try this authentic Mexican restaurant!

Granted it was Cinco de Mayo but the wait was way too long. Especially since I placed an online order and walked in 5 minutes after it was supposed to be ready. So I told the young lady what my order was and she said it would be a few minutes more. Ok cool. Turns out it was already sitting on the counter and I waited 20 more minutes before she figured it out, so more than an hour after I ordered. And I even gave them a tip. Just plain terrible. Only go here if you have the time to waste. The food was barely still warm when I got home.

Al Chile is one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. Service is consistently good. The chips guacamole is outstanding and difficult to stop eating. The margaritas and the Sangria swirl are fantastic. My girlfriend loves the tacos that the staff are able to make vegetarian for her. I'm a fan of both their tacos (steak, chicken, pastor, barbacoa) and their burritos. The churro ice cream is also quite good. Never had a bad experience.

I do food deliveries and got an order to deliver from here last week. I walked in to check in and was greeted by a hostess/server. She was extremely nice and went to check on my order status. The reason for the single star review is seeing the bartender with no mask on, and five patrons at the bar, also not masked. There's a reason we're doing so poorly with the virus, and this is one of them.

This place was amazing! We went to check it out since they have $2 tacos on Tuesdays. This special applies to their steak, pollo, and pastor tacos. My husband and I each ordered 2 to start(he got 2 pollo, I got 1 pollo and 1 pastor) and wow they were amazing!!! We ended up ordering 4 more pollo tacos to go so we could have some for later in our hotel!! The chips and salsa was also good, chips were warm and salsa had a little bit of a kick to it(at least for me). Our server, Aucely, was also amazing! Very friendly and quick to refill drinks!! Definitely check this place out!!

Honestly this is my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant in the suburbs and I'm so happy its right down the street from my house. The staff was very friendly. Learned the hard way its closed on Sundays.

$2 Taco Tuesdays! The chips look a bit burned but I didn't taste carbon. The salsa brought seemed spicy but fresh. Tacos had fresh toppings. Service was lackluster...I waited 10 minutes for a water refill. Busy place. Steak and fish tacos cost a little more. Chips we're average but not warm. Not sure if they make them there..I guess not.

My first time in and I carried out on $2 taco tuesday. This is righr behind my house and I'd never been. I order 2 pastor and 2 chicken tacos. Both were really flavorful and packed with meat. Great portions, good quality and they gave me a green chunky salsa (not the habenero one) and that made the meal! I'll definitely be back sometime with my family for some Margaritas and tacos. :)

Food was not good. Flavorless, staff was horrible. Order happy hour items but was charged full price with no explanation. Order was also wrong and forgot drinks. Offered no apology. I will not return.

Very good. Instead of a tiny bowl of queso cheese they cave you a tiny gravy boat size which was great. We left there full and satisfied

Stopped in for lunch today I got to say the Tacos Al Pastor were very tasty. The kitchen doesn't skimp on flavorful roasted pork. It was a lunch special 2 tacos rice & beans cost around $8 . Location Darien - just one traffic light north of I55 on Cass Ave on the east side.

Great service, great music, and delicious food! Stopped in today for a bite to eat, I had the fish tacos which came with a tasty chipotle sauce (it has a kick to it). My SO had a taco salad with ground beef and it was topped with avocado. Our server was filling in from the Oswego Mexican restaurant (same owners) and was really friendly and helpful with answering the questions I had about menu items. The reggaetón music kept the vibe positive and fun! Check this restaurant out!

A big thing for me in Mexican Restaurants is the chips and salsa. I love the home made thin warm chips that are served and chunky tasty salsa is my favorite. The chips and salsa here rated 1 star. The salsa wasn't that good and the chips seemed to be right out of a bag. Now to the good stuff. I had the steak burrito and it was probably the best burrito I've ever had. Great. My wife had the chicken quesadilla and she loved it. We both had a frozen margarita and they were fantastic. Probably should be 3 1/2 stars but I couldn't give it 4 just because of how important the chips and salsa are.

Hands down, the best authentic food and drink in town. When you hit up a place three nights in a row for tacos and margaritas Highly addictive. I normally get steak tacos. My fiancé gets the steak fajitas. I love that you can actually taste the difference in the two dishes, that most other places overlook and lack flavor. All of this is so fresh. I'm obsessed with their habanero sauce. It, too, extremely fresh. I've always gotten the frozen classic margarita they offer with all fresh ingredients but recently have been turned on to the Pepino, which features cucumber and chile tajin. Very refreshing and tasty combo. You'd be a fool to pass this place up. Super friendly and helpful staff, always greet you with smiles

Easily the best Mexican grill anywhere near this area. It beats them all in freshness, flavor, and just might be the best secret in town. The steak fajitas are by far, the best I've had. And don't miss Margarita Thursday's! As long as Al Chile exists, I'll go no where else. It's almost embarrassing how often we go. I wish I could add a 6th star.

This is a really nice and clean place inside. Ordered the steak burrito ( skirt steak) I was really good. My wife is a vegetarian so she ordered a burrito bowl with out meat ... it was basically a bunch of lettuce with a little bit of beans,cheese and a dab of sour cream. Ordered the guacamole...had a bad taste to it. In Conclusion all of the food is good but everything needs more flavor.

Two words. Tasty tacos. The seasoning and flavor packed into their tacos is truly amazing. And the guacamole? Wow. Honestly. On par with the best I have ever had. For this place to be in Darien is really great. Do you yourself (and me) and try this place. You will not regret it!!!

Went for $2 taco Tuesday excellent tacos! Spicy pork (Al pastor)came with a sliver of fresh pineapple and the steak came with cheese, cilantro onion and a guacamole sauce. Perfect margarita, fresh fresh fresh on everything. The ground beef tacos have potatoes and very good. Atmosphere is very aesthetic. Not you typical ratty taco place. Good lighting. In a strip mall so deceiving from outside. $9 margarita was like downtown Chicago price.

WHAT A LUCKY FIND. I'm on my way to Midway Airport, craving some Mexican food like at home (I'm from Denver-lots of great Mexican) and google maps pulls this up on the way. Wonderful. Even simple things like queso and jalapeño are just perfect. The margaritas are PERFECT (try the El Noble). The server was great and friendly and on top of it. And this place is spotlessly clean. One of the best I've ever been in for the price and service. I WILL BE BACK!

Food was delicious and so were the margaritas. Service was darn slow (waitress was pretty much solo for entire dining room), but she tried her best. Somehow they actually ran out of corona. All that can be overlooked cause the food was wonderful so I would come back again!

So I ordered takeout the other day, and my order was. 2 orders of chicken tacos 1 Chicken burrito no beans 1 Chile relleno 1 cheese dip What I received was 2 orders of steak tacos 1 burrito with what looked like extra beans 1 cold solidified cheese ball 0 chile relleno Needless to say I won't be back

Decent mexican food at a liiiiittle above decent price. We got delivery so I'll give it a pass but it's pretty standard, albeit prepared very well. Impressed, hope to try dine-in soon :)

Was craving for tacos and I ponder upon this place on yelp. It has $8 lunch meals or $12ish meals regular meals. The steak tacos and burrito was amazing! I would recommend coming here if you're in the area for some legit tacos. I would come again.

Great flavorful Mexican food...I started with their generous portion of hand made guacamole and was immediately impressed...I ordered the steak tacos on flour tortillas as an entree, they were served plated well but the flavors were immediately consuming, simple yet so delightful to the palette. I've been to many Mexican restaurants and have been dissatisfied more often than not but I also have my favorites, I will return to "AL CHILI" and work my way through their 2 page menu one meal at a time.
