"This North Austin food truck offers Middle Eastern specialties. The grilled samoon (Iraqi bread) lamb and beef shawarma is one of the best in Austin. The tender fall-off-the-bone lamb shank is a really flavorful savory dish. Everything is freshly made and served with hospitality by the Syrian owners. There are now two locations with the original in Austin and the new one in Pflugerville. Takeout and delivery orders can be placed online." - Sana Khan

I always love the quality of their food! So special, unique and different, not your usual run of the mill middle eastern food. They have some very special options like quizi and lamb shanks too! The owners are very good people and I highly recommend it. Their wood fire grilled meat is absolutely flavorful. Their gyro and shawarmas are my favorites and hummus! They have outdoor seating and quick takeout service too. I mostly go with takeouts and the portion sizes are big, good for leftovers.

An underrated Mediterranean spot close to Parmer! The falafel was fantastic and one of the best I've had in Austin. Don't skip out on the tahini sauce either, it is also delicious! I do wish the atmosphere was a bit more inviting. I try not to have high expectations when dining in at food trucks—but I think keeping just the picnic tables with some nice umbrellas would be a welcome change from the current setup with a metal tent. Service was also great and they are very generous on the portion sizes as well. Overall, excited to go back and try more! Very glad to have this food truck close to where I work. P.S. Look at how neatly the falafel is arranged on the rice! :D

I came around 8:30pm on a Friday night, and it wasn’t too pack. Based on the menu picture, I ordered the kebab, and the guy told me that the meat was a mix of lamb and beef. I also ordered the tikka, and he told me that the meat is chicken. When I got the food, it didn’t look like the picture in the menu. The tikka was delicious. It came as a plate full of chicken even under the tomato and rice. It had salad, hummus, and pita bread included. The hummus was smooth and had a more charred taste to it. The salad was sour and complimented the chicken. I would get it again since it could actually feed two people. The kebab looked more like a large empanada than what I was expecting. It was good too with juicy meat and tomato inside and cost $10. In my opinion, the tikka was more worth it and cost around $16. There are some tables to sit outside. I also wanted to try the okra, but it was sold out.

Google
Amazing food. Must try their lamb/beef burger and their beef shawarma wrap. Their fried chicken is really good also. There isn’t anything that I have tried that was not delicious. They now have a buffet restaurant as well. Don’t take my word for it. Give them a shot and you will not regret it. When I first found out about them I was literally at their food truck 4/5 times that week. Also should try their red iraqi tea.

Google
I didnt rate the food and only gave a 3star so i can try but experience was great and respectful and by the pictures it looks great just haven't tried yet. Ughhhhh so disapointing oily Tortilla shell not a pita bread shwarma the sauce taste like garlic sour cream not the garlic sauce thats supposed to be with it. Don't waste your time and if you've never had Mediterranean dont eat this food itll be not worth it period!!! Oh and the garlic fries on the photo menu they gave me plain crinkle fries the cook was Mexican not middle eastern. Smh here i add some more bad review the food looks nothing like the picture no Lettuce on my Tortilla pickles. Ewww

A lot of places are good but this place was really very good , we had the Arabic chicken shawarma, it came with fries and garlic white gravy , pickles and ketchup, every single thing was delicious, will recommend this place to all my Desi friends and will be back😃

Google
Place is always delicious. It is a food truck in the plaza with the Valero. From the outside, it doesn’t look like much. My favorite thing there is the Lamb-Beef Shawarma Sandwich. I’m not a fan of gyro but for the sandwich they use real meat. Has the consistency of tender pulled pork. (but it’s lamb and beef). As of 2/15/23, it put my pack about 10$. Not bad!

Yelp
Really good service and tasty food anytime we go! Definitely better than other options.

Yelp
I ate here over 2 years ago. The food was different than the usual shawarma/gyro wraps and it was top notch. What really set them aside was their bread. I've come back here over the years and always found them closed and could never figure out their hours. I was shopping in the area today and saw they were open and had to get an order in while I could! From the menu, I ordered a chicken shawarma wrap and beef/lamb shawarma wrap. I also ordered some fries for the kiddo. Both the wraps were excellent. The chicken was like a kati-roll. The bread felt like a hand made roti and was soft and crunchy at the same time. The beef/lamb wrap had a different type of bread and it was so soft and chewy. They were both really good. The fries were freshly made and did the job. I hope I get the chance to try some of the other items on the menu soon.

Yelp
Stop by here for AUTHENTIC chicken shwarma, I love the gyros you get all these other places and they're amazing in their own right, but this gives you the actual shwarma you get in the gulf and for that I'm grateful. We also got a box of falafel which were delicious.

Edwyn A.

Yelp
I was in the mood for lamb shank and this place just happened to be on the delivery apps. What's even better is you get a side of the sauce the shank was cooked in (there are only a few places that do this) and a bed of rice. The shank was everything I wanted and it fell off the bone. It would've been nice if it came with a side salad of vegetables like other places. I also got a side of hummus. The hummus was creamy and the soft pillowy bread that it came with was perfect for dipping. Since I got this delivered there was a slight mark up which is expected and looking at the pick up prices you'll save a few dollars if you pick it up yourself.

Yelp
Well that was a delicious surprise!!!!! My favorite place for falafel and hummus closed early tonight so I came here and got a plate from Al-Demashqy and it was fricking awesome! My daughter and I made wraps from one falafel plate... she got the big squishy roll and I used the giant tortilla things and we loaded them with falafel, hummus and all the good stuff they included plus some garlic sauce they threw in. YummY!!! Wish I had pictures but it all disappeared before I could think about any of that! Lol. Can't wait to go back and try some other things from this super food trailer! Open till midnight! You gotta go!

Yelp
Super tasty! Very authentic. Brought my friend who had never had Iraqi food before. She loved it! I knew she would! We ordered the Kubba, Baba Ghanouj, chicken shawarma sandwiches on samoon bread, lentil soup, and traditional tea. It was all amazing. And the employees were super nice and welcoming. I'll definitely be back when I come to town!!

Yelp
My latest craving for Mediterranean food has taken me to a food RV close by work. Since it came down to 2 places, I went to the one that I could find! And, the reviews on Yelp helped me also. I approached the RV and read the extensive menu while watching and listening to other patrons order their food. Fortunately, a patron saw my confusion and offered some - choices actually too many. To keep it simple, I opted for the lamb/beef Kefka which came with rice, salad, hummus, and grilled vegetables. After waiting a meager 10 minutes, I eagerly drove home to eat the aromatic meal that filled my truck. At first glance, the styrofoam container was filled with meat, rice, a salad, and hummus. However, it was much more. the grilled/roasted tomatoes were tender, sweet, and well-seasoned. The hummus was creamy and very good. the salad was salad...LOL, and the rice was perfect. Aside from the delicious vegetables, the lamb/beef Kefka was also very delicious. They were tender and seasoned perfectly. I have never had them taste so personal. When countrymen order food for their families, authenticity is key and several come from cedar park and Leander respectively. The reviews on Yelp matched the food. It is worth the drive to eat at the RV or their restaurant. Hmm... the lamb shank looked promising!!

Grishma B.

Yelp
It was alright nothing special. They tried to overcharge us but I looked at the receipt and ask for refund. Their shawarma was good but lamb shank was below average. I probably won't visit again .

Yelp
First off, it's my fault for ordering a hamburger when clearly this is a Mediterranean food truck. My bad. The patty was cold in the center. The bun was stale. The lettuce was wilted. The only thing that taste like it should was the American cheese -and let's face American cheese is gross. Fries were alright. Try the place out but be warned about the burger.

Marcos K.

Yelp
Updating my review, sadly taking it down from 5 to 3 stars. One thing I loved from this place: the incredible Iraqi pita. Unfortunately, last time I was there one of the things I ordered was a side of hummus. The hummus was good, but, instead of pita bread I got a large flour tortilla! This threw me off by a lot but I'm not one to be deterred from one bad experience as it happens to anyone. Plus, the falafel I also ordered was pretty darn good. Today I ordered the hummus beef. This was a glorious giant dish. Today, not only was the portion small and the amount of actual beef smaller, it came with a tiny salad and hummus as sides. Yes, hummus with hummus as a side dish. But the real problem was that instead of pita bread, they gave me another large flour tortilla! I don't know if the pita supply chain has dried up or inflation has made pita bread very expensive. But you cannot serve hummus with a tortilla. It defeats the whole purpose.

Yelp
I found the food wonderful. Flavors were very nuanced, and prep was very nice for to go food. Portions were bubba-sized, enough for two meals! The guy is a solo act and makes everything from scratch one order at a time. This is not a hit and run food trailer. He has a minced chicken kabob that is outstanding with texture and flavor better than Ive had in restaurants. The Iraqi falafel is also very good. Unlike any I've ever had and very flavorful. The menu is big and will take quite a few visits to work through. This is a task I'm looking forward to. Don't be scared off from the post-apocalyptic appearance of this corner. The location is a bit of a mess and there's no cover while you're waiting if weather is bad. But it's a worthwhile effort, and this place is in the top of my to-go list.

Jenny W.

Yelp
This place is SO SO SO GOOD. I come here at least once, if not twice, a week. I've never been disappointed with the food here. They give large portions which is great for leftovers. The people who work here and own the truck are always nice and quick with the orders. Plus they're open late which is great when I'm hungry past 9PM. I always get the #9 kabab with 2 shesh, though their falafel plate is also tasty :) Cannot recommend this place enough!

Clay T.

Yelp
Really good wrap. Owner was nice. I don't know what else to say really haha. Never tried Pakistan food before to me it tasted like Mediterranean food just about.

Pax S.

Yelp
I have driven past this place so much as a mail carrier in the region so I decided to stop for lunch. The customer service was phenomenal and the food was even better -- look how huge this gyro is! Couldn't recommend this place enough. I will be back!

Vali S.

Yelp
Food truck is in the parking lot across international food market. Tasty food and large portions. Also very nice and humble people.

Ronald C.

Yelp
The lamb shank is really good here: tender tasty meat on a bed of rice. Beans in sauce and bread on the side are ok too.

Lina S.

Yelp
Best Mediterranean ive had in austin for years. Had the kebab plate and it was fantastic! Cant wait to try other things on the menu

Jerry E.

Yelp
Excellent flavor! I'm not sure what real authentic really tastes like but this place definitely does a great job! Kebab Plate: Definitely two thumbs up! The two skewers were cooked to perfection and the flavor was hands down the best I've had in the north Austin area!

Rebecc G.

Yelp
Just when you think this place can't get any better...you try a new dish and are amazed all over again. Scrumptious dishes - you can't go wrong with any of them. Nicest gentleman running the truck. Beyond delicious food. Everything is great from the baba to the falafel to the humus...only problem I have is deciding which dish to get since each time I try something new and it's better than what I had the time before. New house staple.

Zack E.

Yelp
This place has the best shawarma wrap I've ever had. Traveled to many middle eastern countries. I have to get 2 every time, although one is more then enough.

Matt D.

Yelp
Lamb beef shawarma sandwich with the special bread is one of the best things I've eaten since moving to Austin. If you've driven by a bunch of times and wondered whether you should stop in, please allow me to answer your question: yes, do it. But dont eat in the car unless you've got a roll of paper towels or similar.

Amira B.

Yelp
One of my favorite food trucks in Austin. The location is very convenient (in same shopping center as International Foods). I've tried lots of menu items. My favorite being their kabab sandwich. My husband loves the burger with all the fixings. We love the food here and have a great experience each time.

Towfiq O.

Yelp
Amazing 10/10 huge portions and the most authentic Arabic food you will get in Texas! What a treasure!

Juliet L.

Yelp
This place was delicious!!! I love shawarma and have eaten it all over the world where I can get it. I've never eaten "Iraqi" food but it tasted a lot like the Lebanese shawarma I've eaten for years in Lebanon. It was amazing!! The man who was running the food truck was super nice. I'll be going back.

Amy H.

Yelp
The food here is soooo very delicious. Some of the juiciest fluffiest rice I've ever enjoyed in Austin. We ordered the Kebab Plate and the Quzi Rice. Both were so satisfying. But let me tell you specifically about the Quzi Rice. It's a pile a plump yellow rice laden with tender lamb shoulder. I have honestly never tested lamb like this! The flavor is so unique (cinnamon? clove? seven spice? A combo of all three?). The arabic bread is amazing as well. No ambiance as it's on busy N. Lamar but there's a covered seating area so that's nice. Super genteel and kind owner. Definitely give this spot a try. There are several menu items you won't find in a typical Middle Eastern restaurant and you won't be disappointed!

PK Family K.

Yelp
The food is great. This is not a fancy restaurant. This is excellent Mediterranean food at a reasonable price. We enjoyed literally everything we tried. Definitely try this. I was not a fan of rice pudding until I tried it at Al-Demashqy, where it is flavored with rose water and pistachios, and it was fantastic.

Mrudula G.

Yelp
The food here is AMAZING!! I randomly came across this place and it has been one of the best finds. I got the chicken shawarma and it was great! I'll be back for the lamb shank.

Mohammad A.

Yelp
Food Truck in the Parking opposite to CVS at Braker and Lamar with covered seating. I tried their Beef Shawarma, Fried Chicken and Burger Beef Shawarma was of a different style and taste when compared to other Shawarma places in Austin and it was excellent Burger was not on a traditional Burger Bun & it tasted great. Fried Chicken is not what you expect. It is 4 pieces of Fried Breaded Wings served with Rice, Humus and Salad. It tasted good but not worth the price you pay for it. I will definitely go there and try other items on the menu and will update this review.

Eliud G.

Yelp
So I have been really getting into Middle Eastern food lately and have tried a number of places in Austin. Al-Demashqy is one of the most delicious places, in Austin cuisine, PERIOD. The owner was super nice and had an amazing customer service. I highly recommend this place to everyone. High quality, great customer service and fresh food and comfortable little spot!

Mga A.

Yelp
They must have opened a few months ago. I love their food and I proposed to create their yelp account and leave the first review. You must try their kabab, so good. It is halal, and I assume they are originally Iraqi. The food is so affordable and delicious!

Jayly O.

Yelp
I am literally writing this with the shawarma in my mouth in the parking spot next to this place. BEST SHAWARMA in Austin. He has wrap and plate style and that's so hard to find in Austin. Anywho! HE ALSO GAVE ME A COKE FOR FREE. Literally sweetest person ever. If you don't go here you're a loser ‍

Jonathan A.

Yelp
best mediterranean in austin i dont know what else to say since im posting this as a review and not as tip so i needed extra characters

Zane P.

Yelp
super impressed with the falafel wrap, it was much bigger than any other wrap i've had, especially considering such a low price. will be trying the iraqi falafel next. support these guys when you can

Paul M.

Yelp
In town for a lacrosse tournament, Yelp led us to this great food truck! Had the lamb shawarma, was one or the best ever - and the service was fantastic. Definite recommendation.

Landon B.

Yelp
The food is incredibly good. Awesome kebob and the best lamb shank I've had in Austin. Please do yourself a favor and eat this food!

Benjamin A.

Yelp
Best middle eastern foos ever! These guys put their heart into their food and the taste is the result. Everything bite was amazing! Great experience!

Annika O.

Yelp
Amazing, authentic, delicious food! Highly recommend this to anyone looking to get great middle eastern food in the Austin area. The owners are incredibly kind people as well. They put their heart and soul into the work & it shows through! I would love to get the word out and let more people know about this wonderful food truck.

A. G.

Yelp
Everything we've tried tasted fresh and delicious-- beef kabobs, Iraqi falafel sandwich, beef and lamb shawarma, hummus and baba ghanouj ... and they're super friendly with excellent customer service!! Can't wait to go back!

Leila S.

Yelp
Delicious! Lamb shank and beef kebab are my favorite here. Would definitely recommend this place.

Fahmida A.

Yelp
I've tried so many halal places in Austin and this was hands down the best little spot. I really didn't expect the food to be this good the first time I came around-I'm not even a fan of gyros-but this guy is definitely doing something right. We had the lamb and beef shawarma and the chicken shawarma. While the chicken was good the lamb-beef was exxxxxxxxcellent! So unique and flavorful. The beef was a lot more similar to braised beef brisket than the generic beef gyro with creamy sauce and authentic middle eastern pickled vegetables-the perfect combination! I only leave reviews if I'm extremely disappointed or extremely pleased-and this is definitely the latter. A must try! :)

Hiba M.

Yelp
We saw that this place has 5 stars and great reviews and was fairly new so we decided to give it a shot. I ordered the kebab plate with 2 skewers, my friend ordered lamb shank plate because they were completely out of quzi, and a side of hummus. I will begin with the kebab plate first, this came with a side of baba ganoush and cucumber sals and on top of white rice with grilled tomato and onion, this was the very best food that we ordered, the kebab were delicious and the meat was seasoned and cooked very well. YUMMY! now to the lamb shank plate, which was a 3/5...cooked well but lacked a bit of flavor. and this plate comes with PLAIN WHITE RICE, not the special rice that is pictured on the menu. Now for the hummus, DELICIOUS, tastes like authentic very fresh hummus, the reason why I must give this review 3 stars is because I asked them when ordering if the hummus comes with pita bread, we took the food the go and did not notice until opening up the bags that they do not have pita bread, they gave us WHITE FLOUR TORTILLAS. I am seriously shook right now, I have never in my life ate hummus with tortillas, and it did not taste good. This is review of the food, which was great in flavor, however the place is very misleading on some of their menu items. Might give it another shot in the future and we will see if this effects my review at all.

Anthony W.

Yelp
. Excellent - the hummus is fresh and full of flavor. We ordered lamb shawarma, kebab, and chicken too. Would definitely recommend it to anyone up north in the Chinatown area.
