"This restaurant from the Al-Fanar stable is on the banks of the Dubai Creek and, like the others, showcases the owners’ passion for Emirati cuisine. The interior has a rustic feel, while, out on the terrace, diners can enjoy views of boats and old Dubai across the water, underlining the freshness of the seafood on their plate. The friendly and hospitable team add to the warmth of the experience." - Michelin Inspector

"Go to Al Fanar Restaurant and Café for an Emirati feast. The interior is modeled on 1960s Dubai. There are mud-and-coral walls surrounding a central courtyard, traditional lamps, wooden doors, old photos, vintage memorabilia, and lifelike re-creations of souk and village scenes. The food is tasty and hearty, and the portions are big enough to share."

First time taking our parents to try Emirati food. It was a great experience and really showed the culture and taste of the UAE. The restaurant looks very traditional and has a warm, welcoming vibe. It feels like going back in time. The food was tasty, full of flavour, and nicely presented. I personally love Arabic food, so I really enjoyed it. If you want to see how Emiratis eat and enjoy local culture, you should visit Al Fanar. Highly recommended!

We recently visited the restaurant and were impressed in every way! The food was fantastic! Fresh, delicious, and perfectly prepared. The ambiance is rich in tradition, warm and beautifully designed. We especially want to praise the service: our waiter Mani was exceptionally kind, attentive, and professional, and he truly made our experience even better. Highly recommended, and we will definitely be coming back!

The food was incredible — perfectly grilled kebabs, juicy and flavorful, paired with fresh salad, crisp fries, and warm bread. Everything tasted authentic and beautifully presented, just like a true Emirati feast. The atmosphere felt cozy and welcoming, with that warm wooden setting that makes you feel at home. You can tell the team takes real pride in what they serve — everything looked and tasted freshly made. A special shout-out to Sayed, who was genuinely one of the best staff members we’ve met in Dubai. Friendly, attentive, and always smiling — he made sure our table had everything we needed and went the extra mile to make our experience perfect. Highly recommend Al Fanar for anyone looking for great food, great vibes, and truly memorable service. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Wow! This is the best food I have had in Dubai so far. The meal tasted and looked like home made and was delicious. The spicing was quite balanced. I went for mutton stew with rice and it was amazing. The service was brilliant. I was looked after by a lovely chap called Mani. Thank you Mani for the recommendation. They have a lot of nice things on the menu, I need to explore them on my next visits.

“This is a good restaurant with a pleasant Arabian atmosphere. I really enjoyed it. The food was delicious — we had kebab and another Arabian dish (I can’t remember the name), served beautifully on a large tray. What makes it unique is that in the middle of a modern mall, you can still experience a traditional, old-style atmosphere, which feels very different and special. The prices are a bit high, but overall it was a great experience. I definitely recommend it.”

Had breakfast at Al Fanar and really enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere feels authentic and cozy - a beautiful place to start the morning. I highly recommend trying their shakshuka. It’s rich, flavourful, and served perfectly hot. And don’t miss their Arabic coffee - it pairs so well with the breakfast and adds to the traditional feeling of the place.

The food was very nice and the portions were very generous. The service was very fast and the food came very quickly. The meat was succulent and we enjoyed it greatly. Staff Mani was very gentle and friendly. He was also very efficient and took our orders very quickly. He even helped us to take a picture of us and our scrumptious food.

I try the Emirati food, pleasant but not exceptional. The sombousa and the fish kafta were really good. I was a bit disappointed by the rice machboos with the lamb, the rice was not as perfume and tasty as expected
