Highlights

Hot oven Sicilian thin crust pizza made in the traditional baking style of old world Sicily. We love to please our customers, so we usually stay open late night.

"This Rhododendron pizzeria is the spot for Italian food and pizza near the mountain, whether it’s a pile of baked ziti or a calzone stuffed with artichokes and caramelized onion. The pizzas here are baked in a 800-degree stone hearth oven, for char and chew, and are generous with toppings like mushrooms and hot peppers. Anything on the menu goes well with a maple hot toddy or a glass of house-made limoncello." - Levi Rogers

SUPERB! Amazing Italian food. We had pizza (it’s huge!!), pastas, salads. Everything was just super delicious. The meat sauce for the ravioli is super authentic Italian, it was the highlight of the meal. Highly recommended for a drop by, come hungry!

Google
The Pesto breadsticks were an amazing start to this meal. The Server, Trevor, was great! The pizza is seriously top notch 👌 A couple tables and a bar to sit down at, cool atmosphere.

Google
Food could be good...if they ever put any actual toppings on the pizza. Second time in a row I have ordered a pizza and recieved 1-2 pieces of topping per LARGE slice. Here is an example of what a $33 sausage, mushroom and green olive looks like...looks like I'll never go back

Google
Everything was great, and the pizzas we got were all excellent! Highly recommend. The server made sure everything, even our drinks were perfect. We added toppings and made a custom pizza with no problem. #8, #6, and a custom pepperoni pizza. Roasted beet salad with crumbled feta was perfect as an appetizer. We turned around because the photos on here (Google) really showed this was handmade with love, and looked amazing. It was delicious! Wood fire pizza! Only bad thing I can say is there was a hair in the salad and it wasn’t my husband’s (he is bald). Sodas were flat but they diligently fixed the machine and didn’t charge us for new drinks.

Cute cozy local spot, with delicious pizza, fun selection of wines and my favorite part, they had a tiramisu to die for!

Nice place to visit before or after snowboading. I like the dim atmosphere inside. Pizza was pretty good. The person who talked to us was very kind.

Google
I flew all the way from Central Coast of California for THIS pizza and the friendly host! I had their Truffle mushroom pizza for the first time two years ago and have been dreaming of it ever since. The host was super friendly and immediately grabbed all of us our waters, and even water for our dog! I finally made my way back here last weekend and tried their Mushroom Pizza with half Margherita pizza and again, fell in love with these two! Come on in for a slice of Sicilian Pizza, you will not be disappointed! Also, both indoor and outdoor seating are unique, keep an eye out for the art everywhere too! Such a special place. :)

Stopped off for some food before we hit our campground. Very good pizza and garlic bread. We took it to go but the server was very friendly and our order came out quick. Will definitely try again. Calzones and pasta also on menu.

Yelp
I've contemplated not leaving a review for this place because it's such a hidden gem and I selfishly don't want anything to change. We've been coming here for a few years now on the way to/from Mt Hood as it's right off the 26 in Zig Zag/Rhododendron. From the outside it doesn't look like anything special nestled next to the post office, a DQ, and mini mart although the wooden mushroom statues outside make it more noticeable. We've aptly nicknamed this place "Mushroom Pizza". The beautiful wood interior is an eclectic surprise with trippy artwork, a wood fire heater, shelves of National Geographic magazines and Italian pasta boxes. The pizza is delicious. Possibly the best I've had in the PNW. They have something for everyone and accommodate carnivores, vegans, and GF alike. Oddly enough they make the best mojitos (sometimes with basil instead of mint depending on the season) and have really great homemade limoncello if the employees haven't drank it all. They also make a weird but interesting non alcoholic maple mushroom drink. They also have very good cannolis, which is my standard for comparing Italian restaurants. The service is always impeccable and the main server Tony is a very genial and comedic guy and also makes the best mojitos. So worth a visit. Although I'd rather you not visit and overcrowd this locals spot!

Yelp
Al Forno Ferruzza was supposed to be a vendor at a huge concert/festival in Las Vegas but the venue was canceled due to high winds. Instead of leaving in angst with their tail between their legs, these cool dudes decided to set up shop at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission to feed the homeless for free!!! What a treat for these run down hungry peeps! People like these gracious gentlemen make the world a better place. Now I need to note that there isn't an al Forno Ferruzza in Las Vegas. I used Google to find out that it's in Oregon. They drove to LV all the way from Oregon!?!? The pix I posted were taken by me at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission. The smells wafting through the air were extremely enticing. I wanted a slice but...not for me...only for those in need.

Yelp
Sicilian crust pizza, deliciously hot from the wood fired oven. We had a half/half: one side being Fungi and the other side being pear-walnut. I enjoyed both of those flavors with the fungi side being a little sparse on the mushrooms and the pear side being a little too sweet (maybe a touch of Rosemary or thyme or sage would have made it perfect). My friend had a gluten free pizza (I had a taste of it) with roasted red beet and onion : very impressed with the GF crust and the flavors were spot on. Fortunately we could sit outside on the back patio under an umbrella and some misters going, it was HOT. The inside restaurant definitely had no airconditioning and was even hotter. Service was nice. It was a bit strange with not-so-cold beer and not-so-carbonated soda but overall worth it when looking for a casual funky pizza place with fun flavors.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing fresh dough, brick oven pizza, calzones and stromboli's . Huge variety of toppings, all delicious. Antipasto, soups, salads and desserts round out the menu. I'm still dreaming of the cannoli made fresh there we had. Super friendly staff greet you when you walk into the warm wood interior. Great selection of wines and cocktails, too.

Amanda C.

Yelp
Awesome people. Awesome little joint. Oh.. and the pizza!!!! Wtf it's SO GOOD. Holy cow. Didn't expect that. It was even good the next day after driving all the way back home. We got one of the mushroom pizzas for 1/2 and that one with the walnuts and the maple syrup drizzle oh my God and we cooked our own jalapeños and put them on there. They were so yummy. We did not take pics. We went straight to shoving it in our faces lol also there artichoke salad or whatever it is with the red peppers bomb

Vince P.

Yelp
Pretty good pie. Pretty odd everything else. Live music was decent. Fight almost broke out at bar. Odd vibe.

Cameron C.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. Everything is of the highest quality, from the food to the service to the vibes. I wish I could take this place back to California with me but it will always have a special place in my heart.

Toria H.

Yelp
I absolutely ADORE this place. The crust on the pizza is so light and flaky that I would be happy to eat garbage off of it. I always feel ~good~ post-hike eating here since the ingredients seem so fresh and thoughtful, not that heavy stuff you sometimes get from other artisan places. We came at an awkward time where we had one server and pizza maker for the entire place and hit a huge lunch rush so definitely had to wait, but it's always worth it for me. My hungry boyfriend thought otherwise. Once we paid the bill around 2pm, all the employees came piling in so I would assume they expect a bigger rush as the day weans up in Govt Camp. Still love this place, would come back 100x over, just maybe call ahead to order so we don't have a hangry group :) Had the carne calzone and what I usually get when I'm here. Maybe I'll shoot for a veggie option next time to switch it up.

Deb K.

Yelp
Food was so yummy that I forgot to take photos! Servers were pretty friendly too and tried to work with us and our two toddlers who were a bit cranky. Definitely come back here again. I especially liked the sweeter taste of the thin crust and salad dressing on the kale and leafy salads!

Jennifer C.

Yelp
The service was some of the worst I've had. We waited over 1.5 hours and did not have all of our food. We went to leave and only some of our order was ready and they said it was ready expect for 1/2 the order. We went to leave and was over charged for what we received and also received push back from the staff and other customers for leaving.

Maddie M.

Yelp
Best pizza I've ever had...and I've traveled around the world as a pizza connoisseur. This takes the slice without a doubt. Service was impeccable. Vibes are cozy, artsy, rustic...I feel at home here. Will be returning again & again. I would wait hours for this pizza -- worth every second. It'll follow me into my dreams. Large portions - price equates quality & quantity. Don't skip this magical mountain find. Cheers.

Kelly D.

Yelp
Really great pizza. Nice atmosphere. We always pick up a pie on our way camping but have dined in and enjoyed their backyard picnic tables. Love the chaga kombucha too

Jason W.

Yelp
Fun little quaint mountain pizza shop. Service was very personable, drinks were good and pizza was solid.

Jason B.

Yelp
This place was awesome. The service is great very friendly and fast. The ambiance omg I was not expecting that when we walked in very neat and cool. The pizza was great the oven gives it a nice flavor. Highly recommended

Alex L.

Yelp
Horrible experience. Waited over an hour and a half for over half of our food until we decided to leave. Upon leaving only one item from the remainder of our order was ready, and the rest seemed to be forgotten. While paying for what small amount we did receive we got push back from the staff and one of the regulars of the establishment told us to "go try fast food". Really poor experience.

Shane S.

Yelp
I've bought pizza here a million times. Is it overpriced? Absolutely. Is it amazing? Yes. However, I will never come back after the South American lady gave me a lecture because I didn't tip for TAKEOUT. Wth? I drove to pick it up. You didn't serve me. No I'm not tipping you for that. What is wrong with people. She told me, "Wow, you don't like to tip, huh? You know this is how we make a livin?" Take that up with your boss that is underpaying you after charging 34 dollars for a pizza and a dollar per ranch. Insane. I was easily spending 150+ per month at this place. I'll go to one of the other 4 pizza places here now.

Hunter T.

Yelp
Used to like this place. Now I have had two burnt, lousy pizzas in a row. I do not plan to ever go back.

justin h.

Yelp
Good food and friendly service. Portions were solid and the calzone was hearty. The kale salad was a great starter

Marsha S.

Yelp
DROP EVERYTHING! GET IN THE CAR! GO HERE NOW!! This is some of the best pizza I have ever had!! If you like chewy, cheesy, thick crust nastiness, then stay home and call domino's. This is lovely Sicilian wood-fired pizza with quality toppings. We ordered a half #4 (pear, walnut, prosciutto, caramelized onions and maple syrup) and half #6 (mushroom, caramelized onions, and garlic) and added sausage to the whole thing. Their sausage is Elk and wild boar! It was so delicious. Good selection of micro brew from a guy in Boring. We loved the Porter. Service was super friendly, and the space is so cozy with a wood fire and live edge tables. We will be back for sure!

Katherine N.

Yelp
The service was fast for a sit down restaurant. The ambiance is beautiful, quiet, and dim. We loved it. The food was terrific, and we had a bigger party. We were really happy.

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
Good no fuss pizza. Delivery took longer than quoted but not a big deal. The pizza size was generous. The six of us (4 adults and 2 teenagers) were satisfied with three pizzas.

Joanne H.

Yelp
I was in Welches and craving pizza. A lot of the restaurants are closed Monday and Tuesday and Apple Maps actually said this one was closed too but it was allowing me to order online so I called to check. So glad I did. This was probably the best pizza I've had in a long time! The crust was absolutely delicious. I did take out but the restaurant was cute inside and the pizza was ready just as I walked in. Note that the pizza seems expensive but it is huge. I need to check actually and see if there's a smaller size as I ate it for three days. Still good even after the microwave. I will be back on my next trip.

Charles D.

Yelp
Good quality food. Pizza decent, but ridiculously overpriced. Service people super nice, but super slow. Overall, decent, average but not spectacular.

Abigail O.

Yelp
Incredible food, entertaining service, and a comfortable atmosphere. The food: -Incredible wood fired pizza. Great flavors. Quality ingredients. A wide variety of fresh toppings to customize your pizza. Generous portions. My friend and I split a 16" pizza along with an appetizer and enjoyed every bite until we were stuffed! -I highly recommend the Funghi (delicious mushrooms, caramelized onions, pesto and truffle oil) with added bacon! We also loved the ravioli with elk and wild boar meatballs (so fresh and flavorful) and the pesto breadsticks (just yum). The service: One-of-a-kind service! Our server Tony gave helpful recommendations for foods we'd like. He also kept us entertained with off-the-cuff anecdotes about his wayward life experiences, and we left convinced that he's one of the smartest people we've ever met. -All the while, Andrew was hard at working making great pizzas! The atmosphere: -This restaurant is located off a main highway in Rhododendron, OR on the way to Mount Hood. One of the nicer & cleaner joints along that highway. -It's beautifully adorned with unique local art throughout. Clean restroom. A fantastic outdoor dining area in back with trees surrounding, heaters, covered tent, and picnic tables. Great for enjoying pizza and beer on a summer evening with friends. My group visited twice while we were in town and I will surely visit again!

Ashley N.

Yelp
Sad because they close at 10 and we got there at exactly 9 and they "can't make pizza" so frustrating because all we wanted was to get warm and have some pizza after a long night in the snow, and just an hour was far more than enough time. They were just lazy:(

Meredith C.

Yelp
We took a pie to go back to our Airbnb. It was delicious and if we are in the area again would definitely come back. Slices were huge and felt the price was a good value for the size of the pizza.

forever a.

Yelp
By far my favorite pizza place! Their margarita pizza is out of this world!!! I love stopping by when I am around them

Lei I.

Yelp
Pizza was delicious. Simple brick oven style pizza. I think it said "Sicilian style". Great customer service. We ordered about 30 mins before they closed and they were still able to deliver it to our Airbnb.

stacey k.

Yelp
Listed as Italian but def more of a pizza place which is the majority of the menu. Not a bad thing, just FYI. It would be great if they added some pasta options....but. There are three on the menu two with boar or elk I think? And one cheese ravioli. Nice salads but a bit small for $12. A good glass of Chianti. Friendly servers. There was a guy w an acoustic guitar playing the night we went which was really nice. Lots of parking.

Jessica M.

Yelp
We had heard about his restaurant online prior toward coming, and read the reviews and knew we wanted to check it out. It was hands down some of the best pasta and pizza we have ever had! We had the Ravioli Al Forno, and half meat pizza and half cheese. The pizzas are very large. The staff is super friendly and inviting. It was fun to see the cook making the pizzas right in the back too. I highly recommend this place, you will NOT regret coming here!!!

Bob H.

Yelp
I think this place has the beat pizza I've ever had in my life. My girlfriend and her extended family were staying nearby and we stopped in to get a couple pizzas. The cheese pizza was phenomenal. I don't know what they got. A pizza with pesto perhaps? They loved it too. The owners were very chatty and funny. We will moat definitely go back when staying in Rhody!

Phil D.

Yelp
I told a couple people in conversation that this was my new favorite pizza spot and I'm sticking to it. The crust is amazing, the red sauce is opposite of bland, the wood burnt bubbles are so fun to hear crunch and then the chew is for real. The restaurant has a fun casual vibe with good banter. I even snuck in a date night with the wife for her first experience and she agreed that it's fantasimo. Everyone working there has a strong connection to the pie and it shows. I will be a forever customer as I have uncovered the holy grail by the side of the trail!

Stephanie J.

Yelp
The pizza here is really good. But the prices are out of this world. And their hours are really erratic. It's a gamble if they're going to be open on any given day. If you can catch them on a day when they are open, you might empty your pockets, but their calzones are yummy.

Watermelon B.

Yelp
Yep. Incredible. This is the best pizza I know of. The wood stove and candle lit dining room were really nice. I recommend getting mushrooms on your pizza. They were delicious and cooked in really well. The flavor omg. The ranch dressing is amazing and you can order it on the side for a little dip dip. Seems like a welcoming place to hang out with nice people. They have a full bar with lots of wines. We loved it.

Neha K.

Yelp
Amazing vegan pizza !! After a long day of exploring, we can came to this litte gem of a restaurant. The ambiance was so pretty and the food was incredible. Very happy to find a place that offers really good vegan options and especially vegan cheese. The pizza was huge...& so delicious that Me and my husband devoured it in a few minutes. A must visit spot with cute vibes, friendly service and tasty food.

Ken R.

Yelp
Probably the most European pizza I've had since living in Europe a few years ago. Honestly outstanding, perfect ingredients and baked in an awesome brick oven. I think that the sauce is the real home run. Can't wait to go back!

Melanie T.

Yelp
We got take out and the pizzas were ready right we got there. Customer service was great, it looked like a really cozy cute restaurant if we were to dine in. Pizzas were terrific and hit the spot for my family! We love brick oven pizzas

Amy M.

Yelp
The pizza and service here is fantastic!! We even took home some dough balls to make our own pizza at home! Had we known how easy it would be, I would have bought 20!! The perfect dough, this place is a gem!

Gretchen H.

Yelp
Best pizza we have ever had! We were on vacation in Mt Hood and were craving that classic comfort food. We were very surprised at what we got- I mean amazing value and you can tell that everything from the dough to the toppings are all fresh and of the highest quality.

Marc D.

Yelp
Cozy, amazing pizza, and great drinks too. Best place to go after a day playing at Mt Hood.

Casey P.

Yelp
Whew. In town (after a longggg 30 hrs of traveling, long story). And this place hit the spot. The pesto breadsticks, the zita, and the #3 pie. Delish. Ambiance was exactly what I was hoping for up here. Appreciate you guys for the late night eats to welcome me into the area

Robin W.

Yelp
"That was probably the best pizza I've ever eaten in my life." --my foodie teenage son, just now We quietly and energetically ate the whole pie in silence. Wow.

Matt H.

Yelp
Great thin crust pizza, amazing cocktails, and fun and friendly service. We got the mushroom pizza which had a lot of garlic on it...our favorite and whole we waited we had a couple seasonal drinks that were spins on a 'maple leaf drink. This was our first time in and we enjoyed the vibe till we grabbed our pizza to go. Looking forward to going back

Carolynn C.

Yelp
We stayed in the Welches area while we visited Mt Hood to snowboard for a couple of days. The pizza was delicious and the service was friendly. I wish he hadn't ordered our food to take back to our Airbnb. The inside of this place is very warm and inviting! When we come back we will definitely dine in and enjoy our meal with some wine. Don't skip this place if you're staying in the area. I only have 4 stars cause I felt that the Arugula Salad, although it was tasty, was overpriced for what all was in it.

Angela T.

Yelp
Best pizza in Oregon! Wood fired, thin crust. Cozy warm fire on cold nights. Outdoor seeting in summer. Great cannolis.

Pam B.

Yelp
I wouldn't even give it a 1 but I guess I have to. ive been going to Al Forno Ferruzza Pizza in Rhododendron Oregon since the original owner opened many years ago. I have always been happy with my food even when they were busy ( we all know food quality usually goes down the busier a restaurant gets). they must have been recently bought out again. my pizza looked like it had been dropped, the pesto breadsticks were so dry I had to throw them out, it was THAT bad! sorry to say I will not be returning to this establishment and I will not be recommending them anymore. go to Portland or Hood River if you want a good artisan pizza.

Maya B.

Yelp
Excellent thin-crust pizza! And definitely try out the locally-made Maple Aqua Yerba Mate. Delicious!

Stacy M.

Yelp
Amazing food and ambiance. Servers are very on top of everything. This is our new favorite local spot.

Theresa S.

Yelp
We called in our phone order, and were able to pick it up within 30 mins. There is a few parking spots infront of the entrance as well as more spots in the back by their outdoor seating area. As you approach the door there are two amazingly beautiful benches with carved wooden mushrooms. Once inside, the ambiance feels very cozy and lodgey, with amazing art decorating the walls. when you walk in you can see the wood stove pizza oven behind the bar. The crew working were both very kind, friendly, and inviting! The food was amazing when we got it home, it hit the spot. The crust on these pizzas are thin but you can taste that they are made with love. i'm only giving 4 stars/5 because it felt a little pricey, but overall it was a great experience.

Oliver G.

Yelp
Excellent thin crust pizza. This isn't a typical american pizza. The toppings are sized for flavor, not quantity. The carne stromboli was more than filling for a 15 year old boy. The kale salad with bacon and the arugula salad with prosciutto were filling and delicious. The canneloni shell was crisp and the cream was delicious. It didn't need the dark chocolate chunks on the outside, but then again, who can say no? All the employees in the restaurant were masked and taking care to ensure the safety of our food. My only disappointment was that I only found out that they had a morel pizza special when I got there to pick up my order (which was ready on time). I'll go back for the morel pizza and more.
