I was traveling from Houston to Annapolis via DC airport and after taking Rental auto , we are were really hungry and google Halal food and came across this restaurant, owned by Afghani Muslim brother , they have Buffett going on that time but due to limited meat options in Buffett, we decided to go al carte ,with Beef nihari , chicken karhi , Beef Chapli kabob, goat biryani and chicken malai boti . Their large size afghani naan was freshly made and love it, Chapli kabob and goat Karahi were the best and delicious, courteous service and there is ample place to pray Namaz with clean bathrooom . Their karak chai is refreshing to end the meal and make you ready to continue your travel . Will highly recommend for halal options and food .

This restaurant has tasty Afghan and Pakistani food. We tried the weekend buffet, which had a variety of food. My favorite was the mixed rice and yellow lentil curry. The naan and rice pudding was also particularly good. The employees were friendly.

Excellent food. I like the Ramadan Buffet , the waiters and staff are super sweet . They have prayer room as well, which I don’t have to worry when it’s time to pray.

Had dinner there last night ~12 hours ago on a Sunday evening. Food was excellent, service was accommodating, and the atmosphere was pleasant. Never thought I'd find such a gem in a Days Inn. Life is full of surprises and this was a most pleasant one. The menu has a myriad of options. I ordered the Samosas (4) and Butter Chicken while my friend had the Alo Qeema (chicken). The Samosas were phenomal, especially with the herb sauce. Both entrees were excellent and full of flavor. The Naan portions are HUGE and easily the largest I've ever been served. The rice had a lovely almost sweet flavor to it. And you can never go wrong with a good Mango Lassi, mmm. If I'm being picky, a few of the thicker pieces of my Butter Chicken were slightly dry inside but the butter sauce is flavorful enough that cutting the pieces in two renders it unnoticeable. My friend thought the Alo Qeema was a little greasy at the bottom. The rice portions could be bigger, but this is in line with all restaurants of this type of cuisine in my experience, save one. Even though this is a self service restaurant, the staff were very friendly and went above and beyond to ensure everythting was to our liking (including answering in-depth questions about menu items). Even short staffed as they were, we didn't have to wait more than about 15-20 minutes for all of our food to come out. I left very satisfied. I will be revisiting this location when I'm back in the area to try the Mango Mousse dessert (which ran out) and the Tikka Kebabs (as recommended by another customer who crosses state lines for this food). Thank you for a wonderfully delicious and fulfilling dinner!!! 😁🤙🏼

I had the absolute pleasure of enjoying the Kebab and Qabale Palaw, and every bite was simply outstanding! The flavors were rich, perfectly balanced, and bursting with authentic taste. You could truly feel the passion and skill that went into preparing the dishes. A very special thanks to Mr. Saif, whose exceptional cooking turned this meal into an unforgettable experience. His attention to detail, mastery of spices, and dedication to quality shine through in every plate. I can confidently say this was one of the most delicious meals I’ve ever had! Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates authentic, flavorful, and beautifully prepared food.

Assalamu alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim, This was my first visit to the restaurant as a guest for the Ramadan volunteers appreciation luncheon! The food is absolutely delicious 🤤 I enjoyed every bite, the service was wonderful. The owner may Allah bless him, Ameen; is very kind and thoughtful. I can’t wait to come again with my family. I give it 5 Michelin stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I would recommend to anyone 😉🥗🥘🍽️

Review: One of my favorite Afghan restaurants! The food is absolutely amazing, with authentic Afghani flavors that truly stand out. Every dish we tried was perfectly seasoned and delicious. The restaurant is very clean, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the overall dining experience even better. If you’re looking for a taste of authentic Afghan cuisine in a comfortable and inviting setting, this is the place to go! Highly recommended!

Yelp
The reviews were mixed, so I wasn't sure what I was in for, but I was willing to give it a try since it was a new-to-me Indian restaurant. They're connected to the Days Inn hotel, so it was easy to find. Pretty much all of the parking spots right outside are labeled as being just for compact cars -- and even so, the spots were rather limited without driving behind the hotel. I took a compact car spot anyway (hope that wasn't bad), and went on inside. For a hotel restaurant, it's not the kind of fancy vibes you would expect at Marriotts and such. I didn't see a menu or anything so I walked up to the register and was greeted. I asked for a menu and was given one immediately. There was a lot of Indian dishes and kabobs. There was a dish I was unfamiliar with called Chicken 65, made with red chili peppers. Decided to give it a shot, and the staff warned me that it was spicy. I had the option of either naan or rice to go with it -- I selected naan. Staff said it would be about 20 minutes so I waited. There were a couple of other patrons in there enjoying their food, and it was pretty chill. Before I knew it, my food was ready -- they brought it to me, and I was on my way. When I got home, I saw that it was a bright red color. Reminded me of vindaloo in that way, but it definitely tasted different. It was delicious, but WHEW it was spicy!!! Nothing I couldn't handle though. The naan it was served with was HUGE and fluffy. A couple of bites were oddly tough but overall it was quite enjoyable. I admit I did miss rice though... the chicken would've been lovely on a bed of it. Would've had to pay extra to have both rice and naan, which I believe some places do automatically... no biggie though. All that said, I had no serious complaints and I would come back to try more of their menu. Hopefully it'll be another great experience for me!

Yelp
I met coworkers for a holiday party. I had the chicken tikka Marsala. It was okay. I was disappointed because this place is a dive. I had high hopes for the food. The mango lassi tasted like a mix and not real mangos. It was as served warm instead of chilled. The naan bread was dry with no taste. The bathroom was clean. There is no parking in their lot. This is unacceptable for a restaurant hotel. The man who parked beside me looked he worked somewhere else. The service was fair. It is a self service cafe. I really had hoped for good Indian food. I was severely let down.

Unique

Yelp
Very poor service, food wasn't fresh it was also cold, very expensive prices not worth it, very rude employees ! I regret that I went there.

Yelp
Our family stopped by. We were passing through the city we stopped for the buffet, and it was really convenient. How all the food was ready to go since we were on a time crunch.

Yelp
First time there a friend of mine recommended this place. The food was good, fast service and very friendly staff. Ike my chicken byriani with yugard salad, I also got the lamb karaki which was very delicious. I will definitely come back...

Star K.

Yelp
I'd give 0 stars if I could...this place is very unprofessional. The Naan bread here is the worst I've EVER had.. it's always burnt overpriced and bland. They have tandoori roti as a side on the menu and don't have it as an option on any of the ENTREES! Terrible! Customer service sucks. These guys smile in your face offering you better service & wait times the next time instead of doing it the first time... the ambiance is very old and outdated!
google avatar

Matthew E.

Yelp
Not authentic Indian. Got the Chicken Tikka Marsala, extra spicy. So they added a few slices of jalepenos. Lacked flavor. Beware, it's self service which is fine but nice to know before hand. Had to order rice separately from entree. Would not recommend. Ambiance was not great. It's attached to the Days Inn hotel. To top it off, there was still a sticker on the pepper in my food.

Yelp
First time here. I am a very picky eater. Halal food..yay!!! Ordered chicken kabob & shrimp kabob dishes. Food doesn't look fancy but overall taste was very good. This place needs an update for sure. Family friendly place. Mainly self service restaurant. Guy at the register was friendly. Overall I will recommend this place to anyone.

Rhenier J.

Yelp
The food is amazing! The price is reasonable and staff are helpful. I will be coming often. I highly recommend their chicken tikka masala.

Mia G.

Yelp
Customer service was fine. Butter chicken did not taste like traditional butter chicken. Definitely had a tomato base... not my fav. The traditional naan is super big, you're fine just ordering one (I ordered two not knowing). Better off getting food to go.

Jorky R.

Yelp
Pretty good food. Good service. Would recommend. Good prices. Nice music, empty no loud music

K C.

Yelp
Not a good sit down restaurant. minimal service . Cheap cutlery . Service is slow and food is very unappetizing. Oily and very generic Indian / afghan food.

Bryan P.

Yelp
This Indian/Pakistani (also Afghani?) Restaurant attached to a hotel surprised me. I very nearly didn't give it a chance as I was getting bad feelings. If you walk in expecting a typical Indian sit-down place like I did you are going to be very confused. Think less formal and more fast-casual and you'll do much better. Food is ordered at the counter and delivered to your table on trays with disposable dishes/cutlery. Food was simply plated which had my wife and I bracing for disappointment but what we got was some very tasty food. It was also quite affordable especially since rice or naan is included with most dishes. So if you're willing to accept the no-frill fast casual product this restaurant is providing give it a try. They also do takeout which may be the best option. If you're looking for a fancy place for a date or special occasion this is not the restaurant you're looking for

Yelp
Decent Pakistani food! My family (especially my grandma) love this restaurant. All of us made the drive out on a Friday to grab some dinner. The place was empty and parking was easy. It's connected with the Days Inn and theres no signage outside but once you're in the Days Inn parking lot, just follow the road that leads to their restaurant. There was only one server working and by the time we had sat down, a few more families came but she seems to cater to every table. Between my family and I, we ordered the chaat papri, chapli kabob, chicken karahi and butter chicken. The portions are kind of small when compared to the price but in the end we had just enough food to feed everyone and take just a little for leftovers. Everything we ordered was delicious but I'd skip the chicken karahi. It had more sauce to it as opposed to a dry karahi so I wasnt a big fan. We also tried their chai which I wasnt too crazy about either.

Ashley S.

Yelp
After looking around and reading reviews my family decided to try this restaurant. The flavor was good but the food was not even warm to eat. The naan was very cold and we asked for new ones and they brought out ones that were still cold. The wait staff wasn't approachable. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Ibrahim A.

Yelp
The food and service is absolutely phenomenal! Amazing environment! Pakistan zindabad!!!!!!

Carisha R.

Yelp
Over priced and not that yummy. Had better. Don't pay over phone they will choose top tip amount for poor food. Never again!

Ben B.

Yelp
Fairly good Indian. Has more of an afghan twist to it. Afghani owned. Nothing super memorable though.

Yelp
I'm literally typing this as I'm dining in. Our Father's Day lunch was absolutely ridiculous. The waitress obviously had no idea what she was doing. Several things went wrong: 1). The Briyani didn't come with chickpeas and we had to pay extra for them. Okay find we had to pay extra, but the briyani was dry, tasteless and the chickpeas were just not it. Secondly, the brought out my dad's first and then brought out my food 30 mins later. It's been an hour and we still haven't even had my step-moms dish come out. I ordered the chicken tika masala and they never brought me rice. The lady assumed that the extra naan I wanted was for the chicken tika masala?!?! I had to ask for the rice. Please do not come here. They have flies flying around in here. 1/10

Yelp
We went to de BBQ 2night last night for dinner in Lanham, MD. We ordered goat karahi, Rogan Josh, chicken bihari kabobs and a house salad. The goat karahi was good. Very oily (even by Pakistani standards), but once I removed the oil it was good. The naan that came with the food was awesome. Fresh out of the oven and it was yummy in my tummy The salad was entirely average. Came with spinach, onions, chickpeas and house dressing. No one was impressed with the salad. The rogan josh was pretty good, but didn't taste like rogan josh in my opinion. It was oily in my opinion. In my opinion, the star dish was the bihari kabobs. The chicken was marinated perfectly, it was juicy and not dry at all. Coupled with naan and their red and green chutney, it was little bits of heaven in my mouth. I also got a chance to speak to the owner. I told him I was excited to order the chapli kabobs, but $16 for two pieces of kabobs and naan was way to expensive in my opinion. I also gave him my feedback for the food. He told me they only use baby goat for the karahi, so the meat isn't chewy. I told him some pieces were a bit chewy, but overall good karahi. The service was sub par, but I understood because they had a party going on in the hotel's banquet hall. Not deducting anything for the service. Our server, Evelyn, was awesome. She had a good sense of humor and she did her best. Our naan did not come on time and Evelyn asked them several times but no joy. After waiting for ten minutes, I went to the front desk and asked them for the naan and they got it right away. I recommend this place. They just opened about three months ago. I appreciated the owner taking my feedback. He wasn't dismissive at all. He also told me that they aren't doing any buffets for the time being.

Yelp
I was craving Indian food and saw this place on Door Dash! Came to read the Yelp reviews and was skeptical because I read the portions are small. I ordered anyway and I'm glad I did. First of all, my portion size was large. I was able to get 3 meals out of it. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and 2 garlic naan. The garlic naan is soooo good, omg, and it's huge!! The chicken tikka masala is also very good and full of flavor. They also gave me a large portion of the side of rice! I was very satisfied with my meal. I'd definitely order again

Yelp
We were in the mood for some Indian/Pakistani food and happened on to stumble onto this place on Yelp. Once we got here there was no one in the restaurant which made us a little nervous. However, after our order arrive we were pleasantly surprised at the spices/flavors of the food. Although it is not Islamabad, it's not too far off. We loved the place and will definitely be back!

Josee A.

Yelp
My husband and I actually really like this place. Some of the best Indian food we have had. Knocked a star because when you order takeout, they do not have your order ready when you arrive. It seems like they honestly wait for you to arrive before they even start cooking. Both times I've come to pickup food, I'm waiting for 15+ minutes even though I've already allowed enough time since the phone call. We would honestly come here a lot more if they did better on the to-go orders. We value our time on lazy nights when we want to eat in.

Sam B.

Yelp
I should have read the last couple of reviews before I ordered.. this is now called Al-Madina so I'm not even sure if this review will be seen. We order Indian most Sundays... I don't remember having any issues with the taste at De BBQ but we decided to order from Al Madina and my butter chicken was super bland.. super disappointed. My mango lassi also tasted off.
google avatar

Athar M.

Yelp
Went in reluctantly because of so few reviews, but oh so glad I did. I ordered the chapal kabab dinner. Came with 2 patties of chapal kabab + cholay + heavenly sesame seed naan. In my opinion best chapal kabab in the area I could find. The naan was good to the last bite. The restaurant was attached to a Days Inn, but logically separated. The restaurant was practically vacant save one other guest who couldnt stop praising the vegetarian food at the restaurant. Will return here soon.
google avatar

Maha A.

Yelp
I had the chicken nihari, chicken biryani and daal. It was so delicious and I had never had chicken nihari before but to my surprise It did not disappoint at all. The whole group enjoyed with perfect chai and I would definitely go back!
google avatar

Kaleb A.

Yelp
The food is good, but the portions have become smaller over time. I ordered Chicken Biryani and I basically paid $13.00 for a small container of rice and three chicken bones. I understand that we're living in unprecedented times and business may be slow, but giving your customers less for their money is not the ethical thing to do. Karma!! I'll drive to Arlington the next time I want good Pakistani/Indian food and generous portions for my money.
google avatar

Tim V.

Yelp
I travel for work at least 2 weeks a month for my job. I eat Indian food every trip I'm on. This was by far the worst Indian food I have ever eaten in my life. Greasy and absolutely tasteless. Would not recommend to my worst enemy. I'm not looking forward to how it sits with me tomorrow. Had about 3 bites. Stay away.

Royella A.

Yelp
awful!!! ordered goat biryani and chicken tikka masala. the biryani had no meat just bones. chicken tikka masala was floating in oil. my 1st and last purchase. your restaurant needs a new chef, asap!!!

Nathan N.

Yelp
The cook has left this restaurant sometime ago and the food sucks now. Don't waste your money in this restaurant. I had to throw away all the food I ordered for a carry out because I ordered 3 variety of dishes and all turned up horrible. Everything went into trash, Paid $50+ for nothing
google avatar

Anam J.

Yelp
Ate here on Sunday and was very happy with the experience! The restaurant is part of a "Days inn", it's pretty casual. At the time we went, there was only one server there but she was doing a great job at hosting everyone and bringing all the food out. We got the papri and samosa chaat to start with it. Both chaats were fresh, tangy and delicious. For entrees we got the chicken karahi, goat briyani and the BBQ special grill platter. Everything we got tasted great! The karahi was flavorful, and the chicken tasted fresh, the briyani was awesome! The rice was cooked well and the goat meat was soft and tender. The special grill platter came on a fajita style skillet and was sizzling, fresh and amazing. The only suggestion I would have is to serve carbonated coke, we got three cokes and all three were flat. The prices were also very reasonable, our check was $72. Def a good deal! Will def be coming back.
google avatar

Aamir S.

Yelp
Great food and service! Owner is polite and always willing to help. The grilled kabobs are what you want. Fresh naan and somosay chaat are
google avatar

Z S.

Yelp
The food is moderately good (3.5 stars) but their prices are crazy expensive for the type of food. They seem to have raised their prices significantly compared to the menu pictures posted by previous reviewers. Service can be very slow if they have more than 2 tables. We are excited to have a decent Indian/Pakistani option in the area and would like them to flourish but their prices would prevent us from visiting them very often.

Paul M.

Yelp
There was one review of this place, located in a kind of sketchy hotel in Lanham (the front desk of the hotel is behind bulletproof glass). Still, didn't want to drive and the one review said it was great. I've been to a lot of Indian places all over the country, and this place is the REAL DEAL. We had butter chicken, which was some of the best I've ever had, Palak Paneer (also fantastic) and Rogan Josh (VERY good). The naan was all fresh made and stuffed with spinach. I honestly can not say enough about this place. It was so good that, even though we're literally passing through, I bought an order of butter chicken and palak paneer to go, put it in the hotel fridge, and will be bringing it home (in a cooler...) 250 miles to NJ for my wife to try. It was literally that good. One thing, though...change the name. This name makes no sense. I thought it was a BBQ place. SO GOOD.
google avatar

Tolu O.

Yelp
So happy to have this spot close to me. Halal goodness. Best desi food in the area by far in my opinion!
google avatar

Renny B.

Yelp
So glad that De BBQ 2Night has opened! Today we ordered paneer makhani, palak paneer, garlic naan, and samosa. It was all so delicious and expertly prepared that we can't wait to go back! We are excited to try their lunch buffet too after Ramadan has passed. Thank you for the delicious meal!
google avatar

Noura M.

Yelp
I went today for dinner and the whole staff was awesome so kind. The boss was very welcoming as soon as we walked through the door. I ordered the chicken tikka with a side of chickpeas and rice (highly recommended) very well seasoned and cooked to perfection. I would 100% recommended this restaurant to anyone in the area
google avatar

Zaheer A.

Yelp
One of the best food in dmv area. Quality of food is great . Unbelievable service love to go back again
google avatar

Shahzad T.

Yelp
A relatively a new restaurant at an excellent location This is a very clean establishment with ambiance. I visited this place with my business fiends for dinner and every one enjoyed their meals. Serving were generous and tasted great. Service was great and prompt. Unbeatable price.

Nathan N.

Yelp
Food is getting bad to worst now. The chef has left the restaurant sometime ago and the new chef taste is horrible. If you happen to dine there, don't expect any good tasty food because the good chef has left the restaurant. so be aware before you head out to the restaurant

Bryan Z.

Yelp
First time trying halal cuisine. Was very impressed by this restaurant. Everything came out in a timely manner and the staff was very pleasant. Food was delicious as well.

Ahmad J.

Yelp
The food is overly spicy and not tasty in my opinion. I have only been there for larger parties, and every time I was not happy. After the 2nd time, my family started eating before going to the event, and we would always end up going to McDonald's next door to get food for the kids.

Chika I.

Yelp
I was kinda skeptical that a Indian restaurant called BBQ and attached to a hotel but the food is AMAZING. Their samosa chaat is the best I have ever had, especially in this area. The naan is thick and so good. This is definitely my Friday night take out from now on

Jamal W.

Yelp
Y'all...... If you guys enjoy Indian this is the place. I order from here at least twice a week if i said my order they're probably recognize my name lol. Anyway flavors are accurate spice levels are excellent and food always come mega delicious. I would recommend for any time of day craving!! For picky eaters let them try the samosas super good.

Darshana B.

Yelp
Although the waitress was polite, there are a few things she need to work on: she answered a phone call while we were trying to order, when I asked about adding a a sausage patty to my order she said they didn't serve that even though it was on the menu for other meals. The drink I ordered was hot tea, I'm guessing there was a stain on my mug because when I looked up I saw her lick her finger and rub something off the mug then look back to see if I saw her. We left two dollars for the coke my friend had and promptly vacated the restaurant

Sufia s.

Yelp
Went for dinner here last night and just Wow! Talk about fresh authentic Paki-Indian food. it was so very very good. Goat Biryani was the real deal. My kids devoured the Butter Chicken which I would rate as 5/5. The palak paneer is the best we've had in the DMV. Spinach chaat is a unique and delicious appetizer I am so glad we tried. And oh the chicken 65! so hard to get it around here. We will definitely be back.

Aka A.

Yelp
I ordered chicken Karahi and chicken biryani they didn't send no naans with it and I also kabob in the box they only send Kabob no salad despondent

Affan K.

Yelp
The restaurant was clean and the server was very polite and friendly. I ordered BBQ platter it was delicious and enough for 2 people. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Stephanie T.

Yelp
everything was wonderful from the chicken karahi, naan, raita chutney, and the mango mousse cake everything was fresh and flavorful great service and very clean
