Al Metrò

"Housed in what was once the family pastry shop, this gourmet restaurant run by the Fossaceca brothers is minimalist, contemporary and almost neutral in style so that nothing detracts the attention from Nicola’s delicious cuisine (the outdoor space in a small square has a livelier ambience). The chef uses modern techniques to create carefully thought-out recipes that showcase the flavours of his mainly local ingredients to the full (including some of the best fish from the Adriatic) without fuss or unnecessary frills. The naturally leavened bread is made from Abruzzo flour (Senatore Cappelli and spelt) and is always excellent, as are the superb breadsticks made from Solina mountain corn. The restaurant has recently added an incredible coffee menu that includes top-quality coffees from across the globe." - Michelin Inspector

Excellent experience! All aspects top - from the combination of herbs in the dishes to the delicate wine glass stems and the details on the silverware. Highly recommend the tasting menu. Trust the Chef and the front of the house for wine choices and impeccable service.

A seafood restaurant along The Abruzzi coast, nearby the beach. A sense of cold architecture due whites rooms and a minimal big tables no painting what so ever any where, with a cute glass wine room along the dining room. The food is pretty and taste awesome. The food producer are source very well along the Abruzzo region. Texuture sometimes are rich through “food technique”, but the result has a good contemporary approach. Wine list is exstensively through Italy and France option with some German wines . A good Michelin start with great potential in the future.

Antonio and Nicola deserve a visit. If you are a Seafood lover this place is a must stop. Brodetto it’s a local seafood soup. There are some interesting vegetarian options. The ambient is elegant and minimal. Menu is reasonably priced.

Warm welcome in a beautiful and timeless interior. Correct service. But the dishes were underwhelming, unworthy of a starred restaurant. It seemed they were left with a surplus of prawns that they had to get rid of in each of the courses. Even the beautifully presented piece of fish as the main course was killed by a sauce with prawns that tasted like a mixture of what we had had in all the previous courses. The wine, dessert and coffee were OK, but everything else we could just as easily have eaten at the bistrot right opposite Al Metrò.

It's hard to overstate how wonderful this place is. Everything is right - the space, the ambience, the service - and the food! The attentiveness and knowledge of the service - without being obtrusive - is unmatched. There is no Michelin star arrogance here, rather a consummate but warm professionalism. The contemporary menu, their highlight, is so good it's hard to capture. I've never had a tasting menu where everything is new and everything is right. A series of superb juxtapositions of taste and texture - some downright taste explosions. Superb and excellent value. There are no hidden extras, very reasonable wine menu.

Excellent experience, food was exceptional and staff very professional. The chef came out to ask us how we found the food and he was an extremely pleasant person. We went there for lunch and the quality vs price was extremely good. Although the location from outside looks like a "regular" building, I strongly recommend to get in and taste the amazing food!
